Chapter 23: Beginning of a Hunt
Gremory Park…
"No, I am not leaving you, stupid." Koneko said in annoyance as her ears rang. "Rias was able to strike a deal with her parents and Teriyaki's parents. 'Until Rias Gremory graduates from University, she will not be forced to marry Riser Phenex'."
Naruto grumbled.
"Stupid red head…" Naruto said with a scowl, before his expression lightened up as a lightbulb appeared over his head. "Wait, I can just come with you guys to where ever you guys are going."
Koneko deadpanned.
Over the last three years, she and Naruto have grown.
Koneko was taller, and that is it, much to her irritation.
Naruto, meanwhile, was taller, but was still quite short to many young males his age.
However, he had gained more muscles during the three years due to his training.
Besides that, his face had lost some of its baby fat, but was still rounded.
'Well, it would get us away from Chicken Flambe for a while.' Koneko thought as she scratched her head.
"Well, I don't know, you'd have to…"
"Ask Sairaorg, got it, but let's push that aside for now." Naruto interrupted with a roll of his eyes.
Koneko's eyes narrowed.
"Actually, I was going to tell you that Kuoh academy is an All-Girl school. So, unless you intend to grow a vagina…"
Koneko went silent at the red face Naruto had.
Puberty is a bitch.
'I'd tease him, but I won't push it.' Koneko thought. "What I meant was, if you want to go around pretending to be a girl with the Transformation Jutsu for several years, then be my guess."
Naruto lay his head on the table, sighing.
"I guess I have to admit defeat." Naruto sighed as he pulled out his phone and opened a manga app.
"Well, we could ask Rias to change the school to being Co-ed?" Koneko mumbled as she drank some lemonade.
"Good idea, lets go do that…" Naruto said as he read the manga, before his eyes widened in irritation, showing Koneko that he was reading manga. "HAVE YOU SEEN THIS? D. GRAY MAN'S NEWEST CHAPTER IS SO FUCKING GOOD, BUT WHERE IS LAVI!"
Koneko smiled as she felt a rush of excitement.
"I know, Lavi is the best character, beside Allen and Road." She replied enthusiastically.
"Best Boy has been captured by the Noah and I hope he isn't dead." Naruto whimpered as he slouched over.
"I am surprised you like Lavi, I thought you'd like Konda." Koneko said as she looked at all the fan artwork of Lavi Naruto showed her.
Naruto deadpanned.
"Are you stupid?" He asked in the most serious voice Koneko had ever heard from him up to this point in their life. "Konda is an asshole."
"Isn't that the point?" Koneko asked as she quirked an eyebrow. "He is the Bishonen type."
"Yeah, but his attitude is complete shit. Why people ship him and Allen makes no sense to me." Naruto said as he shook his head. "Also, he is an asshole from the very beginning, I mean since childhood. I would understand if he was a nicer person as a child and grew into a jaded adult, but no. From birth til now, Yu Konda has had the same shitty, aggressive attitude. So, NO, I fucking hate Konda."
"Wow," Koneko said as she put her face into her hand with a smirk. "You REALLY hate him, don't you?"
"OF COURSE, I HATE KONDA!"
Koneko giggled and kissed his cheek, making Naruto go red as he felt a tingling sensation shoot from his cheek move down his spine and into his groin.
"You're cute when you are angry, but cuter when you are flustered." Koneko said with a very cheeky smile.
"Koneko~" Naruto whined, making Koneko laugh.
"I'm just playing with you, silly." Koneko purred as she moved into his lap, pressing herself into him.
Doing this intentionally to feel him shudder under her and hopefully feel a boner.
Meanwhile, Sitri Mansion…
"Check Mate." Sona (Age 15) stated to her now Ex-Fiancé, Leonard Amy of the Amy Family, one of the Remaining Pillar families.
The young man growled, swatting the chess board and pieces aside.
"IT'S A STUPID CHESS MATCH, IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I WIN OR LOSE!" Leonard shouted, pointing at Sona who pushed her glasses back into place as she stayed calm.
"Actually, it matters." Sona replied as she looked him in the eyes without fear. "We made a contract agreement, so this marriage contract is null and void."
"NO!" The young man shouted in anger, but not at Sona, but at himself as he felt immense failure.
Sona stood up.
"Thank you for the Match." Sona said as she stood beside her peerage, waiting for Leonard to take his leave.
"DAMN…" He growled as he stood up, turning to his peerage members. "Hidan, Kakazu, we are leaving."
"Yeah, Lord Amy." They two older devils said as they followed their King, both sending an acknowledging glance toward each other before they nodded.
Sona sighed as she exited the room before she headed to her bath.
Specifically, the shared bath that she had with Rias.
Getting undressed and prepared, Sona entered, seeing her oldest friend.
"You won?" Rias asked Sona.
"It wasn't that difficult." Sona said as she sat next to her friend.
"Congrats… I guess." Rias replied in exhaustion.
"So, you guys are going to Kuoh?" Sona asked as she sat down.
"Yeah, we are."
"To try to get more peerage members while Riser is away?" Sona asked.
The previous day, Rias had begged her family to push the wedding back, however she was lucky, as the day she had begged her parents, Venelana and Zeoticus told her that Riser had left the Phenex mansion that morning, leaving a note stating he was going on a training trip for an undetermined amount of time.
"Yeah, I have to use this time, mom and dad agreed to the wedding to be pushed back to me graduating University, but that only buys me six years." Rias said as she leaned back in annoyance.
"Well, use these years wisely." Sona said as the door to the bathe opened, revealing Koneko.
"Rias, can you make Kuoh Co-ed?"
Skip, January 3rd, Beelzebub's Laboratory…
It was Ravel Phenex's 13th birthday.
She was much taller, taller than Naruto. Her body had filled out more and she looked more mature for her age.
Not only was she now a teenager, but she was to receive her evil pieces.
She stood before Ajuka Beelzebub as she touched a piece of magic gems.
They glowed brightly before sixteen individual pieces of the gem broke off and became chess pieces, floating before Ravel.
"Congratulations, Young Phenex." Ajuka said in pride as he handed Ravel a chess piece case. "You are now a King."
Ravel smiled as she was hugged by her mother and father.
"I am so proud of you, sweetheart." Jonathan said as he kissed his daughter's cheeks, happy tears swelling in his eyes.
"I can't believe my sweet baby girl is now a King." Layla said as she kissed Ravel's other cheek.
"Mom, dad…" Ravel whined as she was embarrassed while Ajuka and her parents laughed.
"Anyway, let's go and prepare for tonight…" Layla said as she took Ravel's hand.
"Mom, may I trade you my Bishop for Gentle to be in my Peerage as my first piece?" Ravel asked sheepishly as she offered her mother said Evil Piece.
Layla smiled as she held up her hand.
Gremory Mansion…
"Wait, it's Co-ed?" Naruto asked several minutes after Rias got out of the bath with Sona.
"Yes, Kuoh Academy was turned into a Co-ed school when my brother got the territory. I mean, how is Kiba going to be around as my Knight if he can't even attend the school." Rias asked sarcastically.
"HEY," Naruto snapped. "Don't give me lip, Gremory."
Rias frowned as Koneko pinched Naruto's arm.
"Be nice." Koneko stated in mild irritation.
Naruto rubbed his sore arm and looked at Rias.
"No, she is expecting it. Look at that smug face!" Naruto accused.
Indeed, Rias's face held an expectant apology.
"Naruto!"
"No, I am not apologizing. She probably has had everything handed to her, so she expects things." Naruto rebuffed. "I am not going to stroke her expanded ego just because she is an Heir or some shit."
Koneko punched Naruto in the head.
As the two young teens fought, rias felt disturbed.
Not in an irritated or angry fashion, mind you.
But because the situation was so foreign to her.
'No one has ever acted or spoken to me like that except my parents.' She thought in confusion.
"APOLOGIZE!" Koneko shouted as she put Naruto in a headlock.
Only for her to release him when his tail thwacked into her face.
"No, she is no better than you or me, or anyone else. Rias is just Rias, and she doesn't have my respect because she is the sister of a Satan!" Naruto shouted back.
Rias quirked an eyebrow.
'That's what it is.' Rias thought as the two continued to fight. 'Well, if I want his respect then I guess I'll earn it.'
Being the smart person she was, Rias used magic to halt any further action of the two teens.
"Naruto, I do apologize for my behavior." Rias sincerely apologized with a bow. "To answer your question, yes, Kuoh Academy is a Co-ed school, so you can attend as long as you have Sairaorg's permission."
Ten Minutes Later…
"Yes/No." Sairaorg and Kuisha said in unison.
"YES!" Naruto shouted as he jumped for joy. "I GET TO GO BACK TO THE HUMAN WORLD!"
"Sairaorg!" Kuisha gasped as she turned to their King as Naruto zipped out of the room to call Koneko. "He isn't ready to be on his own."
"You are right, so let him learn." Sairaorg said in a calm tone. "Look, Kuisha, I know you see him as a brother, we all do, but he probably wants to go, not for an education, but to be around his friend."
"You think I can't figure that out?" Kuisha snipped as she put her hand on her hip.
"No, but you are being over protective…"
"And you aren't. Didn't you promise Jiraiya to protect Naruto at all costs?" Kuisha asked seriously, her gaze piercing Sairaorg's soul. "How can we do that if he is in Japan?"
Sairaorg stayed quiet, pondering how he was going to respond.
"Well, we can ask for some help…" He answered.
Kamabakka Queendom…
Kuroka (Age 18) sunbathed in a dark green, two-piece bikini and sunglasses, a dopey, happy expression as she soaked up the sun's rays on the beach chair, the sound of the waves causing her ears and tail to twitch.
Over the last three years, Kuroka had matured physically.
She had lost the weight, and regained her figure through a healthy (Mostly meat based) diet and exercise (Training with Inazuma, Iva, and the Kuja).
She resembled Fujima in the face and eyes, but body type, NO.
Where Fujima was smaller and had a more agile appearance, Kuroka's breasts and hips far exceeded Fujima by miles.
'This is the life…' Kuroka lulled mentally as she felt very drowsy in the best possible way.
Before everything went cold and dark.
"Hey, what happened to the sun?" Kuroka asked, not opening her eyes.
"Kuroka…"
Said Nekoshou shot off of her beach chair and stood ram rod straight as Inazuma sipped his wine.
"Yes?" She announced, heart racing in her throat.
"The Kuja are here to pick you up, and they have a message for you." Inazuma said as he handed Kuroka an envelope.
Kuroka opened it with her claw and read it.
Her ears moved and tail swayed as she smiled brightly, pushing her sunglasses to her forehead.
"SWEET! THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!" She shouted gleefully, jumping up and down along the sandy beach.
"Well, it will be sweet, IF you go to the boat." Inazuma stated.
"Oh, shit your right." Kuroka said as she landed on her feet. "Thanks Inazuma!"
Kuroka took off towards the docks, the moment her foot touched the gravel, stray woven sandals appeared on her feet as her bikini was replaced by her black kimono/Kuja tribe garb attire.
'Don't worry, mom, I will continue to get stronger, and I will protect Naruto and Shirone.' Kuroka thought as she reached the docks in record time to see Marigold.
Evening, Phenex Mansion…
"I'm sorry to say, Lady Phenex, but Leonard Amy hasn't shown up." A servant whispered to Layla.
"Well, he did lose Sona's hand in marriage, so it is understandable he would be moping." She told the servant. "Don't worry about it."
The servant nodded and returned to their station as Ravel accepted the presents from her guests.
Rias, Koneko, Kiba, and Akeno were there, wearing formal attire.
"Here, birdbrain." Koneko said as she gave Ravel the group gift, which was a small box wrapped in red.
Ravel scowled.
"Koneko, be nice. It is her birthday." Rias scolded, putting her hand on Koneko's back and making her bow. "I do apologize."
"I don't." Koneko stated as Rias bowed, while keeping her bowing.
"I… I accept your apology, Rias." Ravel said as she put the gift aside.
Rias and Koneko stood up and allowed the next few guests to give their gifts to the birthday girl before her desired person stood before her with a gift.
"Here you go, Ravel." Naruto said with a bright smile as he stood next to Sairaorg and the Bael Peerage.
He handed Ravel a small bag that was royal purple with gold colored stuffing paper.
"Thank you, all of you." Ravel thanked but then looked at Sairaorg. "Can we talk, Sairaorg?"
"Sure," Sairaorg turned to his peerage. "Alright everyone, go enjoy your…"
Naruto and Regulus were already at the LONG table grabbing food.
Ravel and Sairaorg sighed as they shook their heads.
'It wouldn't be Naruto/and Regulus if he/they didn't stuff his/their face/faces.' They thought before Ravel and Sairaorg walked a small distance away.
"What is it you wanted to talk about, Ravel?" Sairaorg asked in curiosity.
He was mostly friends with Sabo, who was nearby with Guts telling him a story, which apparently was funny since both were laughing, and thus was not as chummy with Ravel like Naruto was.
"Sairaorg Bael, I, Ravel Phenex, would like to offer a trade…"
"Sorry, but I won't trade Naruto to you." Sairaorg interrupted politely, an apologetic smile on his face.
"But… but…" Ravel stammered.
She really wanted Naruto to join her peerage.
LIKE, REALLY wanted him in her peerage.
Sairaorg gave a nervous chuckle.
"I am sorry, but I made a promise to someone important that I would protect Naruto. I plan on doing that." Sairaorg told the young woman.
A memory struck Ravel's brain.
"You mean…" Ravel looked around her before covering her mouth and leaning in, whispering. "Jiraiya the Toad Sage, right?"
"So, he told you. But, yes…"
Meanwhile…
"It is nice to see you again, Young Bael."
"Mr. Shimura." Naruto greeted with a polite bow to the Elder. 'Him again?'
Naruto was polite and courteous with the Elder, but that did not mean he liked Danzo.
The smile he had seemed forced and unnatural.
The way the older man carried himself was calculated and never wasted a single amount of energy.
"You feeling alright?" Danzo asked Naruto as he touched Naruto's head.
His hand was as cold as a corpse.
"Yes, just lost in thought…" Naruto replied as he pulled back before he turned, his ear twitching. "I must excuse myself, nature calls."
Danzo watched as Naruto made his way to the bathrooms, his only eye narrowing in on him.
Irritation.
That was the best way to describe how the Baku yokai felt at that moment.
Noticing the time, Danzo dismissed himself from the party, his assistance, Fuu and Torune, helping him home.
Naruto, meanwhile, shuddered.
'That old man needs to seriously leave me alone. The last three years of monthly visits…' Naruto shuddered. 'What does he want?'
Naruto's thoughts were interrupted when a giant phoenix flew in through one of the open balcony doors.
In its claws was a gift and a note.
It landed next to Ravel, bowed, and then extended its leg, placing the gift before her.
"Thank you." Ravel thanked as she recognized that the bird was Riser's familiar.
With its job done, the phoenix disappeared back to its master.
"Hm, what does this say?" Ravel said as she took the letter and opened it.
Dear Ravel,
Riser apologizes for not being there on your birthday.
Riser's training has taken a serious turn, and Riser didn't want to lose momentum. Riser is truly selfish.
I hope you enjoy Riser's gift, beloved sister.

"Wow…" Ravel gasped when she opened the package.
Inside was a violet embroidered dress.
It went to her ankles and was a simple design.
'He even sent shoes.' Ravel thought as she took notice of said footwear.
"Ravel, you opened your gift too soon." Layla playfully scolded as she and Jonathan walked out, pushing a cart with a large cake on it.
Everyone in the hall started singing Happy Birthday,
Cake was cut and eaten; small talk was exchanged.
Before long, gifts were being opened.
'Saved the best for last.' Ravel thought, many minutes later as she was surrounded by gifts and torn gift wrapping and empty bags as she took hold of the final gift.
The one from the Bael Peerage.
Everyone watched as Ravel pulled out the card, read it, and then pulled the gift out.
It was a small box.
'I wonder what is inside.' Ravel thought as her hand shook slightly. 'Oh, could it be a ring?'
Wedding bells were ringing in Ravel's imagination as she blushed at the thought of being proposed to.
In the box was a small black cord necklace attacked to a red bead and a Jade Green Blessing Pendant.
"It's beautiful." Ravel said as she took it out, carefully putting it around her neck. "I love it, thank you."
Naruto smiled brightly as he was hugged by Ravel.
"Hey, let him go." Koneko said as she stepped up, trying to pry Ravel off of Naruto.
"Beat it, third wheel." Ravel whispered.
A sly smile appeared on Koneko's face as everyone started to disperse for the last stretch of the birthday celebration.
"Well, at least when we are in Kuoh, I won't have to worry about you." Koneko said as Naruto was released.
"Koneko, stop it." Naruto said sternly.
"What is she talking about, Naruto?" Ravel asked, not liking the cocky tone Koneko had.
Especially her Anya Folger Face.
"Oh, I am going to start going to school at Kuoh Academy in the human world in Kuoh, Japan." Naruto told her.
Ravel vanished, appearing before her father Jonathan, grabbing his arm.
"FATHER, CAN I GO TO SCHOOL AT KUOH ACADEMY!"
Desperation clearly evident in the young girl's tone.
"Uhm… ask your mother." Jonathan nervously replied with a scared chuckle.
Amy Estate…
Unlike many other remaining Pillar families, the Amy clan was quite small…
Well, they were about to be cut down further as Leonard Amy shook in a corner.
"Tr-traitor!" He shakily accused, pointing at two men. "I took you in… this is how…"
He was interrupted by a shrill laugh.
"You are right, you did take us in, but we were never your allies to begin with." The shorter of the two said as he stepped into the moonlight, revealing black skin with white skeleton bone tattoos. "We butchered your parents, your peerage… all that is left is you, Leonard."
"Hidan…"
"It is as my partner said, Leonard." The taller one said, his green pupil/red sclera eyes piercing through the darkness and skewering Leonard's heart and soul. "We followed orders, but we never saw you as our leader."
"Kakazu!"
Leonard saw an opening, and dashed past his treacherous followers, suffering a shallow cut from Hidan's attack as he passed.
Hidan giggled like a school girl.
He held up his three bladed scythe, as he stood in a blood circle, and ingested the blood, then grabbed his necklace, the emblem being an upside down triangle in a circle.
"May Jashin accept my offering of Murder and Destruction!" Hidan declared as Leonard got out of the estate.
Hidan impaled his torso, chest, and throat with his multi-bladed scythe.
Leonard's eyes widened as he collapsed, gasping for breath.
'What… did… he do…' Leonard thought as he heard the crunchy of grass under foot.
"Sorry, my partner's habits are quite sloppy and inefficient, so I will finish you," Kakuzu said as his arm stretched, grabbing Leonard's head and caving it in against a rock. "My King."
The last words Leonard heard were full of sarcasm and hatred.
