Unfortunate Luck
I wonder why Murayama wants me in the kendo club?
Walking pass the large hallways of Kuoh is one Kaito carrying a hilariously amount of lunch boxes. One could only imagine the looks he was receiving.
Nonetheless he looked unbothered as he had done similar things before as a small favor to the kendo club members
Still why did Murayama asked me to carry them for the club.
The day had already began strangely as Kaito had to dealt with a call to the student council office, take a guess why...it starts with an Issei.
Then after a pleasant conversation about the latest novels with Shitori...I want to make it clear that I have been asked to the student council office so many times that it's practically routine.
Kaito left with Issei, recounting a small lecture he was given but he could tell that all members knew that it was pointless. He couldn't change Issei and really at this point most of the student council just felt bad for Kaito.
"Good luck Kaito-kun."
"Thank you Genshirou-san."
"Muuu Kai-kun I'm truly sorry for you suffering."
"I won't go that farbut...thanks?"
"I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors Kaito-san."
"...Thank you Kusaska-san. I suppose."
"I really have nothing to say but...wow your brother is..."
"You needn't say more Yura-san."
"Please be careful Kai-san."
"I...okay I will Hanakai-san."
"..."
"..."
"Please do not end up like your brother."
"That is rather harsh Fuku-Kaichou."
Kaito silently sweat drops at the absurdity in hindsight. Truly his brother brings about the strangest of situations.
Kaito makes his way to the kendo club using its back door as the front one was closed for some reason.
As a click followed by screeching of a door frame passed Kaito was greeted to the inside.
And what he found was not what he expected.
A deep red hue dusted his cheeks as his body froze in shock
The kendo club members stood in mute shock as their garments laid on the floor and their barely covered bodies were in full display.
Curse my luck.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"S-Sorry!" Kaito shouted with red slowly creeping up his face. He slammed the door shut as he step back outside the building.
He could hear his heartbeat beating rapidly as his body almost felt numb at the shock and the lunch boxes were barely being held on as is.
His mind was completely nonexistent, as if it had completely shut down. Kaito tries to calm his heartbeat the best he cans and eventually he does but he could still feel the lingering heat especially around his face.
Kaito swallows his saliva when realizing that he must make it right, for his wrongdoings, he should apologize and after a moment the sound of a door creaks.
Kaito had opened the door slightly, not enough to expose the inside but enough to speak through.
"I-It w-was an ac-accident, uhmm, I...I'll leave t-the lunch boxes outside and go away. O-Okay."
A tense silence followed before being interrupted by a monotonous request.
"Give us a minute."
And so he did, he waited for his inevitable demise while contemplating how the hel-how in the world did he get in this situation.
"Come in and bring the lunch boxes."
He complied and slowly opened the door that was once his barrier, his protection, now he is left open.
As he step inside he was met by the dead stare of all kendo club members except Saeko as she stood blushing, trying to hide behind her bangs.
"So Kai-kun, why shouldn't you receive your punishment," Murayama steps up from the crowd to break the silence.
Punishment.
That word, it brings an uncomfortable feeling, one of resignation but also a deep hatred. Why is he punished? Why is he at fault? Though such sentiments was largely pushed away as he feels...water moving.
"Nothing really," He spoke with a hint of sadness.
He understood their hatred, despite one's intentions, the outcomes are the deciding factor.
The girls unknown to Kaito felt a pang of shame and regret as they were not expecting such an...expressive response, at least when it comes to Kaito. Made worse when he stared at all of them.
All the girls could've swore that his eyes, those hazel brown eyes had suddenly changed, and his brows lowered sadly.
He looked like a kicked puppy and the girls had to stop themselves from swooning at the cuteness.
"Then you are okay with us beating you up?" One of the asked with a tint of red dusting her cheeks yet they all flinched when Kaito's head lowers.
"If it satisfies you then yes."
At this point some could feel a very pointed glare from one Saeko, the façade has to end, just earlier than expected.
"We decline."
Eh?
You could imagine Kaito's face as it immediately changed to one of confusion. Murayama sighed as she explained. In hindsight she should've tried harder to dissuade the others.
To explain the situation, after Kaito's...interruption. The members of club felt divided, for a man to walk in on them while changing is sin worthy of punishment, on the other hand, it's Kaito.
The girls doubted that he did it on purpose.
Many, including Murayama just wanted to let the matter go. It was most likely an accident, a mistake, no need to beat one of the only decent guys in the school but others felt some kind of vengeance should be enacted.
So they came with a mutual agreement.
"Kai-kun you need to stand up for yourself. Just because you walk in on people by accident, doesn't mean they should beat you up," Murayama said calmly before awkwardly continuing.
"I mean it's technically our fault that we didn't close the back door properly."
The agreement was to trick Kaito into thinking that they were mad at him and after a while forgive him in exchange for all the favors they owed him.
Simple and fun, it should've just ended with Kaito slightly panicking and the girls having a good laugh.
The problem is that they underestimated Kaito's puppy eyes, could you blame them, the guy rarely showed even the slightest bit of emotion, kept to himself and barely goes out of his way to socialize and he pulls up that nuke of a weapon.
Truly they underestimated the power of the "Cold Prince of Kuoh."
It took a bit of time for Kaito to process the situation and when he did fully, his stress alleviated. A smile almost broke his stoic mask, if it had he shuddered to imagine the response.
S-So much blood.
In the school the only ones to see him smile are his close friends, though the amount doesn't surpass a single hand and his brother. Speaking of his brother...
"What about Issei?"
"That's different."
The girls of the club suddenly gained a murderous aura. Their expression tense with a promise of pain. Kaito sweat-dropped when he recalled what his brother planned for the day.
Sorry otouto, I'll help carry you to the nurse.
Otouto means little brother in Japanese.
Curses
"Do it!"
"No."
Here lies both brothers as they stood in the middle of their classroom as students from and out came to see the brewing argument between the both of them. Why would they waste their time, the answer is simple.
"C'mon Kai say it!" Issei insisted.
"Ise I'm not going to curse for you," Kaito said stoically.
Who wouldn't want to see "The Cold Prince" say the f word. The news club and gossips would run haywire, mostly because teenagers for some reason love drama and gossip.
As both brothers stood in a silent stand off, the audience could not help but give their two cents.
"Have you ever heard Kaito-senpai curse."
"No, hell I never heard the guy say well hell."
"The worse was either heck or damn."
"I don't know if he does it on purpose or he just doesn't want to curse."
"Can you?"
"~Fuck yeah."
As the situation became ever more heated and as both brother showed their similarities as stubborn individuals.
A voice broke the tension. Spoken in an authoritative tone, it demanded a response.
"Can anyone tell me why so many students are congregating in this classroom?"
Many students shuffled awkwardly as the school president, Shitori approached with arms crossed and a stoic expression. Her gaze immediately turned to the apparent center of attention.
"Hyoudou Kaito may you explain the situation."
To call him by his full name is a show of importance, the situation if viewed from the outside may look as if he and his brother were being confrontational.
Why me, I am not the one making a scene?
Kaito decided to keep whatever internal thoughts to himself, for his parents he must be the best student that they could be proud of. It's the least he could do for the both of them.
He could only hope that his parents would not blame themselves with so little time left. His mood slightly dampens at the thought nonetheless his features did not change.
His posture straightens into one of professionalism as he regarded the request.
"My apologies Shitori-Kaichou, nothing bad of the sort is happening I assure you. Just my brother trying to make me...curse," Kaito answered politely.
"I see," Shitori sighed in relief.
"Well I can't say that I am unhappy that no fight was about to break out, but you two are aware that foul language in unacceptable in Kuoh."
Kaito replied with a nod, the situation has now winded down. His shoulder sagged in relief, truthfully he was never for one of foul language.
A red hue formed on his cheeks at the mere thought of it as his relatively modest Japanese upbringing demanded he does no such things.
At this moment moment students have taken to their leave and Kaito is scolding Issei in the background as he chastised Issei, said brother has his head down. He resigned to...his brother's lecture...oh the horror...oh the time wasted.
Whether he will take the lecture to heart is something to be seen.
And yet some could not let what has transpired fully go as one brave female student asked the school president.
"Uhm Kaichou, have you ever cursed?"
Shitori's eyes widened as her mind unintentionally recalled an uncomfortable memory.
Siiiiipppppp...
As Shitori sat within the confines of her office, she could not help but release a sigh. Currently she was dealing with...supernatural matters, looking over documents as she contemplates her future actions.
Everyday I'm working closer to fulfill my dreams.
Her gaze moved to the rising sun as the opened windows allow a cool breeze to flutter her hair.
It's going to be difficult but I am going to succeed.
Her small hands balled into a fist.
With the support of my peerage I can't loose.
With the word peerage spoken in her mind, a thought she once considered was given more consideration.
Speaking of peerage, I wonder if I should consider adding Hyoudou-kun.
Her fingers scratched her in chin in thought.
He doesn't seem to possess a sacred gear and his magical potential is yet to be decided but...
She recalled her first meeting with the elder Hyoudou and a small smile unknowingly creeped at her reminiscence.
He is very smart both academically and strategically. In terms of both we are a close equal, last I remember he consistently achieves the second highest score in our school with the exception of Biology and Medical Science.
And yet capable as his mind might be, with no understanding of his combat prowess I can't simply add him to my peerage.
Shitori recalls her surveillance on Kaito, though admittedly she doesn't particularly like spying on people unless necessary. She grimaced but pushed onwards.
Her observations showed Kaito being quite physically gifted, the reason, what she could infer was that he was formerly trained by an old man who use to run a dojo as she searched through his past activities
I-I am doing this for our safety.
She rather pathetically tried to convince herself.
Nonetheless it was a very pleasing surprise. If Kaito is physically attuned then that leaves his magical potential a still unknown which is the unfortunate crux of the matter.
She would have to bring Kaito into her world, to reveal the secrets of a mystical world so to speak and Shitori's greatest fear were the potential consequences.
Her fingers clenched together in comprehension.
To elaborate while revealing the mystical world was not an issue of in itself, she recruited most of her members through this method. If she does go through this method with Kaito two of several outcomes are the likeliest.
As an heiress and moreover a strategist, Shitori rarely considers actions without first considering the outcomes. Outcomes could lead to back-up plans and more assurance should the situation turn unfavorably.
One outcome is optimal while the other is more realistic and but can show problematic consequences if things get out of hand.
Shitori sighed as she finishes her drink.
I always overthink thing, sometimes I really hate it-I mean it's Hyoudou-kun, he is the most reliable and understanding person in the school-
Shitori blushed as she recalls her own thoughts. She felt shameful thinking of a...friend? in such a manner but could you really blame her. If others saw she sees everyday than they might share the same opinion.
The way he takes care of her needs.
The way he constantly worries over her health.
The way he makes meals for her that she often jokes about him making a great chef.
And the look in eyes as he stutters embarrassingl-
BAMMMM...
What?
"Ssssooooo-tttttaaaannn!!!"
Fuuuuuuuu-
"...No."
She could vividly recall her elder sister's scream piercing her ear like a wet napkin. She tried to calm down her elder sister while combating the blush as she views the dreaded magical girl outfit.
I can still hear it even now.
Her elder sister whines about a boy potentially taking her dear "So-tan" away from her as she rolled around in a tantrum.
Shitori was left with a palm to her face.
Truly she is cursed.
So hey guys it's Elseworld and this is technically chapter 3 of A Life In Blood Haze. Honestly I've been a bit sick so no bloopers and to be truthful I have a diploma and exams to prepare for.
Alright, I have news. With all the new things I have to do, it's becoming fairly unrealistic to post 1 chapter every week considering how long the chapters are and how often I have to rewrite them.
I genuinely like wrong stories, it's fun but my schedule makes it difficult plus I want the story to be something people will enjoy. Will people enjoy it I don't know but regardless I will try my best.
Chapter 2 of the main story will come out on Sunday. I only have the last part to finish but yeah I'm going to rework my schedule to make it more reliable. I'm thinking once per two weeks.
I dunno but anyways have a bless day.
Uhhhh I'm still soooo sick. *cough*
