Chapter 14: Consort and a New Queen
4 years have passed since Mufasa's death and Scar has become king of the Pride Lands. I have turned 21 years old and it's the year 2022, October 10th. Damn, the time has flown by. A lot has happened in 4 years. The Pride Lands have become in ruins. Everything is dried up and there is hardly any food left in the Pride Lands. Nala has also grown into a full adult. I have fallen into a deep depression after Mufasa died.
I tried to kill myself a couple of times, but my family stopped me. I am currently in my hut, sitting in the living room, watching RWBY Volume 8 on the Tv and working on my Disney Fairies diamond painting because that has been the only thing to help distract me and take my mind off of things. Video games too of course. while I was watching RWBY Volume 8 and doing my diamond painting, Sarabi and Nala came into the hut.
"Hey Lana, how are you doing?" Nala asked me. "I'm doing okay, I guess," I said. "Lana, you've been in your hut for a few weeks now. You haven't been out yet." Sarabi said. "Why do you think I have been in here? It's depressing outside, there is nothing to do." I said. "How about we go to the movies to get you out of the hut? I know you love going to the movies. I heard Avatar got re-released." Sarabi said. "How does that sound? Going to the movies, just us girls?" Nala said. I sighed. "Okay. I'll get the tickets." I said. "That's my girl," Sarabi said and patted my back.
I smiled and went to my room to go get the tickets. After I ordered my tickets online for Avatar in Imax 3D, I met up with Nala and Sarabi outside.
"Okay, I'm ready to go," I said. "All right," Nala said. Nala, Sarabi, and I made our way to the movies. When we got to the movies, I got us checked in and they gave us our 3D glasses. After we got our food and I used the bathroom, we sat down in the Imax theater.
"This is exiting," Nala said. "Yeah, let's go find our seats," Sarabi said. I ran up the stairs and made my way to the back row where I always sit.
"Hey guys, over here!" I said, waving my hand. "We're coming," Sarabi called. Sarabi and Nala sat next to me in the middle of the back row. After a while of chatting, the trailers have finally come on. We saw some pretty good trailers, like the ones for Black Adam and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever coming out soon. I am definitely seeing Black Panther: Wakanda Forever when it comes out in theaters on November 11th. After the trailers, we put our Imax 3D glasses on when the Imax countdown started. I giggled when the numbers got close to my face. After the countdown, the movie had started.
It was a long movie but Avatar was really cool to see in 3D and there were a lot of fight scenes in the movie as well. After the movie, we all left the theater and we made our way back home.
"How did you guys like the movie?" I asked. "I liked it, I thought it was cool to see in 3D," Nala said. "Same," I said. "I thought the movie was pretty cool," Sarabi said. When we got home and I was about to go into my hut, Scar stopped me.
"Lana? Can you come with me to the cave, please? I have something I need to discuss with you." Scar said. "Um, okay," I said. I looked at Nala and Sarabi. "Go on, we'll be here waiting for you," Sarabi said. I nodded. I followed Scar to the cave. I sighed in defeat when we got to the cave. What did Scar want with me? I got a bad feeling.
"What do you want to discuss, Scar?" I asked him. "Well Lana, I have been ruling the Pride Lands for quite a long time and I still feel like I'm missing something. Something every king needs in their life." Scar said. "And what would that be?" I asked him again. "I need a consort on my side. A companion that would grant all my wishes and satisfy my needs. But I guess I already have that covered." He replied to my question. I am starting to feel uneasy and more nervous. He has been acting weird with me lately. I asked him the question for the third time. "What are you trying to tell me?"
"Lana." Scar said. Scar lifts my chin with his paw. "I want you to be my consort. My queen."
My eyes widened and I almost passed out. "W-What?" Is all that came out of my mouth. He didn't mean what he said, right?
"But I am your sister, and we are different species. I am a human, and you are a lion." I tried to convince him and reason with him to understand the situation, but he ignored me.
"And that is why I choose you. You will bear me some cubs to carry on my legacy in the Pride Lands." He said to me while wrapping his arms around my waist. Is he serious?! Does he want me to have children that could possess powers and spread genocide in the Pride Lands? No! I will not allow it!
"You're insane! I would never marry you in my life!" I screamed at him. Then I smack his arms away from me. Scar got furious at my outburst and slapped me hard across the face. I fell to the ground, then I growled at him with rage.
"How dare you talk to me like that! Maybe I should teach you some manners!" Scar yelled. I gasped in fear when Scar grabs my arm and pulls me towards him. I was shaking in fear, not knowing what to do in this situation. Then he added, "But you're lucky I don't have intentions to hurt you. I don't want to ruin that sweet pretty face of yours. So I would make a deal." He said calmly while I stood up to listen to what he was about to say.
"If you marry me, there will be no conflict here." Scar said. "And if I don't?" I asked. Scar smirked. "Then say goodbye to mother, Sarabi, Nala, and Sarafina. I will kill you after I make you watch them die one by one." Scar threatens me. My eyes widened and I was burning with rage.
"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH MY FAMILY, YOU IMPERFECT PIECE OF SHIT!" I screamed at him. This psychopath is threatening me to kill mother, Sarabi, Nala, and Sarafina and kill me if I don't marry him. Oh, I am going to kill this bastard.
"Or what? How could you possibly beat me and my hyenas? You don't have proper training and weapons. You are useless." Scar said. That hit me. How could I beat him with my current state now? I guess this leaves me no choice.
"Alright Scar, I made my decision. I..." I paused for a while, then took a deep breath and continued. "Accept your proposal to be your queen." I finished my words with hesitation. I can't believe I just said that.
"A wise decision, Lana. That wasn't so hard, right?" Scar said. Scar lifts my chin again. "I will make the announcement about this tonight. Stay in this den to prepare yourself. And don't even think about running away." Scar instructs me. I fell to my knees and began to sob when he left. "What am I going to do? What will mother and the rest of the pride think of this?" It was tormenting me so much. I decided to watch Doctor Strange: Multiverse Madness to help cope with this situation. A few hours later, it was nighttime. The lionesses were called to Pride Rock. Everyone gathered around.
Scar appears in the middle of the stone, with me behind him. I was nervous. I tried to look away from my family. Please don't look at me. I thought.
"Scar, what's this all about? What did you do with Lana?" Uru asked nervously. "Oh, I didn't do anything with her Mom. I am just announcing something regarding to her." Scar said. Scar grabs my arm and pulls me closer to him.
"I have called you all here to announce Lana here has accepted my proposal to be my beloved queen and rule the Pride Lands with me." Scar said. Everyone looked confused and worried. Everyone looks at me with disbelief, even Uru.
"You will all treat her with respect and if anyone dare harms her, your fate will be decided by me. Am I understood?" Scar said. Everyone nodded. "Good. You may all go back to your bisnuss." Scar said. Scar went back to the cave and everyone gathers around me with questions.
"Lana? What happened? Why did Scar propose to you?" Uru asked me. I opened my mouth and explained to my family what happened and why Scar proposed to me. I told them about Scar's threat and how he threatened to kill us if I didn't marry him.
"I never wanted this, trust me. I only did this to keep you all alive and myself alive as well. You're all the family I have left." I said. I covered my face and broke down in tears. Uru comes and pats me on the back. "It's alright sweetie. We all have to make sacrifices sometimes. You know that, right?" Uru said. "And no matter what happens, we will always be by you're side. Right?" Nala said. Everyone nodded. I hugged Nala and Uru for all of the love and support they give me.
Uru is not my real mother but I am glad she and Ahadi adopted me.
"Thank you all," I said. Before I could say anything, Shenzie walked into the room. "King Scar would like you in the cave now, you're majesty," Shenzie said. I nodded and followed Shenzie to the cave.
"Thank you Shenzie. You may go now." Scar said. Shenzie left the cave. I saw Scar sitting on his throne. "Lana my dear. Please, come closer." Scar said. I did as he said and walked closer to him.
"Let me explain a few rules for you as my wife. Rule one: You may only go out with 1 or two hyenas by your side. If there are not any then you are not allowed to go out. Rule two: You are only to sleep in the den with me. Rule three: You are to respect me and the hyenas and do as I say. Rule four: When you interact with the lionesses, make sure you talk to them as your royal subjects, not as playmates or friends. The hyenas are now your only friends. Failure to follow these rules will be punished by me." He explained the rules, the fourth rule surprised me. I can't treat my family like this. But I have to do it. I must keep myself and my family alive.
"Do I make myself clear?" Scar asks me. "Yes, Scar," I said. He gives me an evil smirk and lifts up my chin. "Good. We should rest now. I have patrol in the morning." Scar said. Scar lay down on the flat-shaped rock. "Lay down now." Scar ordered me. When I lay down next to Scar, he wrapped his arms around me and gave me a kiss. I felt disgusted by the kisses Scar gave me.
"Goodnight my darling." Scar said and fell asleep. I was laying on the rock with Scar, feeling restless and scared with my own thoughts running through my mind.
I wish this was all just a nightmare. I thought before falling into a deep sleep.
