Author's Note:
This is an alternate universe of Lex where he has employed the likes of Poison Ivy (Pamela Isley), The Rogues, Vixen, Roxy Rocket, Batwoman, and more, and has built them up to be a formidable force (Roxy and Vixen are almost as strong as Superman here). He also has an adopted daughter in Cassandra Cain, and other wards in Jinx and Raven, and has magical help from the likes of Circe and Rebecca Cairstairs, and thus has powerful wards meant to protect him and aid him and his people in battle.
Red lights flash on and off as a loud alarm blares through the ship. The LexCraft 2.5: Space Edition, has been breached, and the alarm systems want everyone in a lightyear radius to know, it seems.
WARNING! WARNING! THERE HAS BEEN A BREACH! WARNING! WARNING! INTRUDER ALERT!
The automated voice repeats over and over and over again, despite the alarm having been tripped nearly half an hour ago. Luckily, due to the swiftness of the alarm, all non-combat personnel has been evacuated, and only the upper echelon of LexCorp forces remain: namely Raven, Jinx, Cassandra, Pamela, and Lex himself.
Raven lays on the ground, bruised and defeated, and Lex is currently being forced onto his knees, helpless against any kind of threat. Cassandra stands in the middle of the ship, surrounded by the Black Order, the Children of Thanos, as Thanos himself inspects his surroundings. Jinx and Pamela are nowhere to be seen.
"Your...alerts have robbed the universe of its balance, and thus everyone on this ship, must pay the price. Thanos has sentenced you to death, and he alone will carry out your judgment." Speaks Ebony Maw as he flicks his wrist, causing Lex's exosuit to form a sort of a prison around him. Still, Lex chuckles at his words.
"The only ones present that will die...are you. You and your father. Mark my words—" Lex is silenced as Maw gestures again and wraps a piece of metal around his mouth.
"You fought valiantly, really, you did but...we no longer need to hear from you." Suddenly a deep voice comes from the Purple behemoth behind him. It is Thanos, the most powerful being in the universe, and on his hand is a gauntlet with a purple infinity stone placed carefully into one of the knuckles.
"Now, now Maw. Be nice. Lex Luthor is a man who I respect, and I will be glad to hear his words...after he gives me the stone." He says, starting with a lighthearted tone, but ending stone cold. He glares at Lex, trying to peer deep into his soul, but he can find nothing. Knowing it's a lost cause, he glances at Cassandra for a moment, and sees...something in her.
"You there, girl. Thanos has need of you." Maw says, helpfully. Cassandra only glares at the world conqueror. Thanos sighs and shakes his head as he grabs Lex by the head. He nods to Maw, who gestures and drops Lex's muzzle. Only for Thanos to place his glowing gauntlet up against Lex's head. The pain is excruciating and it's all Lex can do to not scream, to not show weakness, to only glare in defiance at his foe before him. Cassandra meets his eyes, knowing it's what he wants, as a Luthor, to be defiant to the end.
"The stone for your father's life." Thanos offers simply. Cassandra tears her eyes away from her father's and looks Thanos in his eyes.
"No." It isn't what her father would want. Thanos sighs and shakes his head.
"Luthors." He then takes his hand away and makes a fist, causing the gauntlet to glow a very bright purple. He applies this bright purple energy to Lex's head, and all of Lex's resolve seems to disintegrate. Before it was pain, and every molecule screamed out. This is...every nerve, every atom, every quark of his existence is suffering, and Lex cannot hold out any longer, as he starts to scream in agony. Cassandra too cannot remain strong and is forced to turn away from her father, not willing to see him broken as he is.
"Alright." She shouts. "OK, I...I'll give you the stone." She relents. Thanos grins and ceases the torture on her patriarch's skull.
"Good." Cassandra breathes deeply as she holds out the Tesseract, summoned from its seemingly invisible, 8D casing that had it hidden from the world. Slowly she reaches towards Thanos, who reaches his hand to it, almost entranced by its beauty, when she says one word that snaps him out of it.
"Pamela." As soon as the last syllable leaves her lips, plants begin to grow everywhere around the ship. Thanos looks around, worried, as the Black Order gets into fighting formation.
"What is this?" He yells, and Cassandra does not answer. Soon all of them are wrapped up in giant plants and they struggle to break free. Pamela then walks up to them, a murderous look on her face.
"You hurt Lex, you tortured him. And for that, you will suffer." She bites out with a sneer, a look of derision and hate. Instantly the Black Order and Thanos cry out in pain as the plants do serious damage. Slowly Thanos gets his gauntlet up and close his fist, surging pure power throughout his body, and throughout the plants, destroying them. Pamela backs away, eyes wide in surprise.
"No..." Thanos is not merciful. With a moment's slip up, he grabs her by the throat and throws her hard against the wall of the ship. He follows it up with a powerful punch to the head, and a few to the body. Pamela is left battered and bruised as she slumps to the floor.
"Now...the stone?" He demands, his eyes piercing Cassandra's very being. Cassandra swallows her feelings and slowly approaches him, stone in hand.
"I...Cassandra Cain, daughter of Lady Shiva and David Cain..." She begins and Lex's eyes widen. No...don't do this, he wants to say, but he knows he can do nothing about it. "Give you..." She pauses for a moment, as if thinking on what to say. In less than a millisecond her expression changes and she lunges at Thanos with her other hand, the sword of Beowulf armed and ready. "Death."
Unfortunately, as powerful as the sword is...Thanos is that much more powerful. With a snarl, he reaches out and grabs the sword in mid-air and snaps it in two. Cassandra's thrown off by the unexpected move, which gives Thanos the chance to headbutt her, sending her careening into the ship walls, bleeding from her skull.
"No!" Lex Luthor yells with all of his might, reaching towards his daughter. Shaking in anger, Lex turns to the Mad Titan. "You will pay for that...no one touches my daughter." Thanos, who seemed enraged earlier, softens at Lex's words. He approaches Lex and kneels next to him.
"Your daughter...I understand your feelings. You and I are very much alike. I—"
"Let's see, both of you are bald, geniuses, try to solve impossible problems, hate to fail, think you and only you are right, and have adopted daughters that you love, yep it all checks out to me." Raven manages to interrupt him with a weak and monotone-like, raspy voice. Thanos narrows his eyes at her words.
"Really Raven? Now? This is when you choose to make your first joke?" Comes the voice of Jinx who blasts Thanos away from Lex. Raven gives her a small smile, Jinx does not return it. "Seriously, half of what makes a joke good is timing and you—"
"Choose poorly." Thanos finishes for her, as he walks through her blasts, and sends one of his own, though it's more of a purple than the usual pink that Jinx sends. Raven takes a deep breath and her eyes glow.
"Maybe, but it worked." She retorts matter-of-factly as her black energy envelops both Cassandra and Pamela. "Azaroth Metrion Zinthos!" She yells as she collapses to her knees. If possible Thanos' expression darkens even further.
"That...was a mistake." Out of nowhere a spear...no a glaive flies towards Raven, penetrating her and pinning her to the wall.
"No...that was." She says with a smirk as her eyes begin to glow red...only to turn back to normal. Raven is visibly confused, and Thanos is all too happy to fill her in.
"That glaive has been consecrated young one, by the holiest powers in the universe. So unfortunately, you father will not be making an appearance." Corvus Glaive grabs his weapon and twists it, confirming his kill. "And because of her foolishness..." Thanos picks up the downed Jinx and holds her throat in his hand. "You must die for your sister's sin...even if she is adopted. I'm sorry, little one, but your luck has run out." And in a simple gesture, he snaps her neck.
Thanos shakes his head as he approaches Lex, who sits there, seething, but helpless on the ground, still on his knees.
"I'm sorry you had to see that. In a way...I'm happy your daughter escaped. Maybe, if we're lucky..." He trails off and shakes his head, clearly frustrated. Thanos grabs the Tesseract and breaks it, taking the stone that lays inside. After placing it into his gauntlet, and some words from Maw about him being great, Thanos activates his gauntlet again, with the squeeze of his fist. Thanos and his children escape in a portal, as the ship falls apart around Lex Luthor.
In seconds, the ship explodes.
