"Stop!" I said.
His face fell immediately as I said that.
But how was this ever going to work especially after the mess Masen had created?
It's better to end this now rather than later. I didn't think I was strong enough to deal with the heartbreak if things actually got serious between us.
"Edward..." I said, "Let's not complicate things more than they already are."
"Yeah... Yeah, it perfectly makes sense," he said as he roamed his hand on his hair.
Had I hurt him? I thought so, but was there any other option?
We stood there in the awkward silence for some time before he said, "Anyway, I should leave now."
I didn't know what was wrong with me, but I didn't want him to go, but still I nodded my head.
I was restless after he left.
He said he had always liked me as far as he could remember.
But as far as I could remember, we just fought and argued, and he never really liked me, and that's why he always used to be annoyed with me!
Right?
"I won, I won!" I said excitedly after winning the Taekwondo fight against Edward.
I knew I was good, but I didn't know I was so good!
Edward had no chance against me!
I kicked him, punched him everywhere, and I was just so... good!
"Yay! Bella won! Bella won!" Masen said excitedly and hugged me after we went back to our families.
"That's because I didn't even fight," Edward said.
"Edward, don't be a sore loser, baby," Mrs. Cullen said, "Congratulate Bella on the win."
"No..." He said stubbornly, "I didn't even fight."
"He's lying," I said, "I beat him."
"Okay, so why did you do that?" Mrs. Cullen asked him.
"Because... Because I didn't want to hurt her," he said, "She's... She's a girl!"
I heard, "Aww..." from our Moms. What did that mean?
"Awww honey," Mrs. Cullen sat on her knees in front of him, "It's nice that you didn't want to hurt her, but who told you that you shouldn't fight because she's a girl? Who told you that girls are weak?"
"James." He said. James was their cousin.
"I'm not weak. Do you want to fight again?" I took the position. I was sure I could beat him again!
He just stared at me. I was pretty sure he was scared about getting beaten again!
"Bella, sweetie, that's really not required!" My Mom said.
"I won," I stuck my tongue out at him.
"That's because I didn't fight," he said.
He was annoying me now! Why couldn't he just accept that I was too good for him?
"I won," I stuck my tongue out again.
"That's because I didn't even fight," he said again.
"I said, I won!" I said. I was getting angry now.
"And I said that's because I didn't even fight," Now he was smiling, which annoyed me even more!
"I said, I won," I shouted now.
"That's because I didn't even fight," he repeated.
"C'mon... Let's get you kids home!" Mom said.
