I tried to control my tears as I noticed Tyler, Lauren, Jessica and company laughing at me.

What was I thinking?

Tyler was never going to like someone so... plain like me!

I shouldn't have made a fool of myself by doing this horrible make-up!

They were right! I must be looking like an idiot!

I wished someone was here to support me. But Masen was busy with Leah, and Angela was busy with Ben.

I wished I hadn't even come to this party!

Maybe I should just leave from here to save myself from further embarrassment!

Yeah, that's what I do, I thought as I left Lauren's house.

"Where are you going?" I heard the voice from behind.

Wrong Cullen!

"Just leave me alone, Edward," I said.

"Where are you going? Are you going to just run away like a coward?" He asked.

"I said, leave me alone," I said.

"Why are you crying?" He asked, "I'd expect something better than this from you!"

"Edward... It's..." I didn't want him to see me cry like this!

"Are your arguing and fighting skills limited to me?" He asked, "Go and fight them!"

"But..." I cried, "They're right... I'm really not good at this!" I said as I tried to remove the lipstick, "I don't know what I was thinking. I'm not like them!"

"Yes, you're not like them. You're better than them!" He said.

"No, I'm not..." I said.

"Yes, you're," he said, "You're better than them and stronger than them. Don't let me control who you're and what you're, understood? By running away like this, you're giving them the power to control you. C'mon... Let's go back and show them that you don't care about what they think!"

I stared at him. What had gotten into him?

"Thanks for the... motivational speech," I said.

"No worries," he said, "I know I can be a good motivation Guru!"

I smiled and rolled my eyes. "Let me remove all this makeup first before I go back!"

"It's not required. You look... good," he said.

I looked up at him.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" I asked.

"I want you to waste your time here. I don't want you to go early and do better than me at the science project tomorrow," he said with a straight face and I rolled my eyes.

"What? I'm being serious," he smiled.
