Edward was always jealous of Bella and my friendship.
"Congratulations, Edward," Bella smiled at him, "I'm glad it's someone from our school."
Edward had won some stupid state level Science Olympiad and as usual, he was hogging all the attention!
"Thanks!" He smiled back.
"Masen..." Bella said as she came towards me and hugged me, "Don't feed bad! You did good!"
She was the only one who cared about the football match I had lost today!
"Thanks," I said as I hugged her tighter, "I was feeling really low. I'm glad you came here to meet me."
"You're such a drama queen," Edward said, "It was just a small match! And you've been trying to make it a big deal for the past two hours!"
"So what if it was a small match?" Bella answered on behalf of me, "He cared about it! And we should let him know that we're still proud of him!" She said as she patted my back.
"Thanks," I smiled.
"A drama queen, with an equally melodramatic friend," Edward rolled eyes.
"Well, at least I've a friend who supports me irrespective of whether I win or lose. Can you name one such friend of yours?" I snapped, "They're with you only because you win!"
He became speechless for a change.
But that didn't last.
"Congratulations on your precious friendship, then!" He said, "I'm better off without such friends! I want friends who push me rather than who try to cover up for my weaknesses!"
"Excuse me?" Bella said, "What exactly are you trying to imply here?"
"Just let him go, Bella," I chuckled, "He's just jealous!"
Yes, I was very proud of my friendship. It's really something I had, and he didn't!
Wasn't Bella always supposed to be on my side?
Then how could she do that to me?
How could she try to betray me like this?
Edward had a tendency to get everything he set his eyes on, and it seemed he had set his eyes on Bella now!
I hoped Bella didn't actually fall in his traps!
I hoped she realized soon that our friendship should be above everything even if we're not meant for each other!
