"Why are you still awake?" I called Mom after Bella left.
I wasn't sure if I should call her. I was in a really good mood because of the completely unexpected events that happened this evening, and I wasn't sure if I should really go back to face the problems we had!
But Mom had called me five times, and she had left quite a few messages asking me to call her back, so I decided to call her back.
"How can I sleep when I have two stubborn sons?" She said.
"Anything new happened since we last talked?" I asked.
"How can you ask so calmly?" She asked with irritation, "Isn't everything happening enough for you?"
"Okay, so there isn't anything new! Phew!" I said.
"Edward!" She said, "What's wrong with you?"
I didn't know what was wrong with me! I was too happy to take anything seriously right now! Maybe because I was so happy that I was finally able to open up to Bella about my feelings, and by some miracle, she also felt the same for me!
"Okay, tell me, what did you want to talk about?" I asked.
"Why can't you just tell Masen that you don't have any feelings for Bella, and it was just a misunderstanding! He's getting restless because of that!" She said, "I know what he did is completely wrong... But we need to understand his point of view as well... He's getting paranoid that his brother and his friend are..."
"We already discussed this, Mom," I said, "I'm not going to do anything he says. I'm not going to let him blackmail him."
"I'd expect some wisdom from you," she said, "I'd think you'd be a bit more understanding here."
"Then please don't expect anything from me," I said, "Nobody is going to stop me from doing what I want to do, especially Masen."
"Do you actually have feelings for Bella?" She asked me.
"That's not the point here," I said.
It took me years to open up to Bella about my feelings. I didn't think I was ready to tell anyone else about it yet!
"There's no point talking to you about anything then, correct?" she asked.
"Maybe," I said.
"Alright then," she said and disconnected the call.
I sighed.
What a fine mess we had!
I wished I hadn't answered her call. I was so happy just five minutes ago!
I received a call from Bella after a few minutes, and I felt an immediate change in my mood again!
"Hey..." I smiled, "What's up?"
"What are you doing?" He said.
"Nothing," she said, "Ummm... Your Mom just called."
What?
"And what did she say?" I asked.
I had a feeling this was going to be bad!
