"And what did she say?" I asked.
"She said, Masen demanded a promise from you to stay away from me," she said, "Like, what does that even mean? Who is he to decide?"
She sounded angry, and she should be.
"I know," I said, "He's being absurd right now. Just ignore him, if it's possible. He has crossed all the limits, and I honestly don't know how to talk to him right now without having a thought of killing him."
"What exactly happened there after I left?" She asked, "Because your Mom seems mad at both of you, not just at him."
"She's also being absurd," I said, "What else did she tell you?"
"She asked me to stay away from both of you because she thinks you're going to do something stupid and you're going to use me to get back at Masen," she said.
I shook my head with disbelief. What's wrong with her?
"And you don't believe that, do you?" I asked.
"No," she stated as obvious.
"Thank you!" I was relieved.
"But she's your Mom. Why would she imply something like this unless you did something?" She asked.
"I haven't done anything. She's making an absurd demand. She's saying I should give in to Masen and make him a promise to stay away from you! That's pure bullshit! Why should anyone do whatever the fuck he wants?"
"So she thinks Masen is not completely at fault here?" She asked.
"I told you, she's being absurd!" I said, "She thinks I should try to understand his point of view. Why should I? Especially after the mess he has created! Who is he to control your or my life? I'm not going to do anything he suggests. Nobody should!"
"Hmmm..." She said, "It means your Mom is never going to understand us, is she?"
