Scene Change: Forest Southeast of Magnolia, Training ground, Year x 760 (Two Months later)

POV: Rep

So, apparently Laxus decided I was perfect for being his teacher.

For the past two months after my first win against Macao and Wakaba, Laxus has been coming here everyday and training with me. I gotta say, he's progressed nicely. His awareness for combat is incredible to say the least, and while he can't keep up with me for long the fact of the matter is that he can in the first place. Let alone how much he's improved in two months alone.

Laxus is a beast, honestly it shouldn't be so surprising but he is just plain and simple a beast.

For now though, that beast is a kid. And he needs training if he wants to reach his goal of surpassing Makarov.

Oh yeah, apparently that is Laxus' dream. Not making Fairy Tail the strongest but to surpass his grandpa. Apparently the way he sees the guild has changed, he doesn't want his guild to be the strongest. He wants to be the strongest himself, though I honestly don't know where he got the idea from or why his dream changed so much.

Though because of Laxus coming here everyday to train with me, he ended up picking up a habit of mine that I am honestly surprised that Macao and Wakaba haven't picked up on. I'm still not sure if that's a good or bad thing but still, he picked up my little guilty pleasure of playing mind games while fighting.

Something I came up with when I realized that my aging is slowed to half that of an average human and that I will always look like a kid when transformed even when my base is an adult.

Because of that I came up with the idea of letting my opponents think I'm weaker because of how young I look while transformed. Especially since the optimization of using the biometals is making me look even younger when transformed. I told Laxus about this tactic and how mind games are just as much a part of combat as anything.

And the kid ended up asking me a lot of questions on how to do that. Which of course since this was my fault for telling him about it, I taught him everything I could including how to make people assume you have no idea what you're doing by acting silly, aka the Joseph technique. As a result of that I'm pretty sure that I turned Laxus into an unofficial Joestar, especially since if canon is anything to go by, he'll be a huge mass of muscle just like a Joestar.

Though in all honesty I do not regret that, I can see it already. Ivan and the rest of Raven Tail fighting Laxus and he just whips out the JoJo poses and begins to play mindgames and all around being manipulative with the supposedly manipulative bastard that is his father.

That will be hilarious.

All in all, Laxus is going to be an absolute monster of a combatant. He'll have the natural talent from canon, combined with the penchant for mindgames he's developing now working in conjunction with the lessons on mobility that I'm hammering into him. All of that combined would make him practically on par with the "Gods of Ishgar" earlier on than in canon.

"Hah!" shouted Laxus, as he was trying to attack me. I just moved slightly out of the way in response, just enough so that his fist didn't touch me but came close, before he attacked yet again this time with a kick albeit not clad in lightning like his punch. This time I moved far away from the slow moving attack, planting the idea of heavy but slow attacks missing being a bad thing just a little more into him.

As he followed up with another lightning-covered fist, I moved slightly out of the way yet again. I need to give him the idea that he's improving, without giving him a bloated ego and this is what I came to. Give him the idea that he is improving by making it so that he comes closer and closer to hitting me, but not quite there.

This also works since I need to move to a different fragment to work on soon since I've filled the guage for model X all the way. I can just use the idea of me using a different biometal as the reason for him not being able to hit me anymore since it'll be more "Combat Effective".

Of course I also need Macao and Wakaba to be here to see the transformation so that they know it's me, according to HUD while my face will remain relatively the same, my eye color changing as well as the hair in my new form might end up confusing them. Which honestly is a good point.

Dodging yet another slow moving kick courtesy of my impromptu student. I use an uncharged buster and knock him back, making sure to disperse as much of the blast as possible to avoid hurting him.

"That's enough for now Laxus," I say as he tries to recover. "Any more than this and you'll only hurt yourself."

"I-ha I can keep going." Laxus panted out as he tried to get up.

"No, you can't." I say before sitting close to where he laid. "Even I can't go forever Laxus, and I have years on you in this little game."

"Fine."

"Laxus don't push too hard, you'll only hurt yourself if you do."

"Hey Rep!" Convenient, I was waiting for Macao and Wakaba to get here. "You finished training Laxus!?"

"Yeah, we just finished!" I shout into the forest in the direction I heard them. "Get over here, I have something to test."

"Not again!" Is it just me or are the two of them always groaning about me having something to test? "That's the fourth time this week, give us a break please!"

"You have a new technique!?" Shouted Laxus excitedly. "What is it!?"

"You'll see, big guy." I say as Macao and Wakaba walk into the clearing, but they aren't alone.

"Ah, so you are the one who has taken to teaching my grandson." Makarov, the short old man who happens to be the guildmaster of Fairy Tail and is one of the strongest wizards still alive. And he is walking into my training grounds. "I have to thank you for that, I would care for him myself but unfortunately my responsibilities make me unable to."

"It's not a problem sir," I said while getting up. "training him helps in my own training to be honest."

"I see," Makarov says, looking at me with an unreadable expression. "Still I feel I must repay you somehow."

"If you can convince Macao and Wakaba to be my training partners for another test of mine," I say shrugging, secretly taking pleasure in the pale expressions on their faces. "That would be more than enough."

"Of course," Ah, Makarov is grinning at the idea, I see he's a man of culture as well. "I'm sure they would be more than happy to oblige. I hope you don't mind if I watch myself."

"Go ahead, I've got nothing to hide." I say getting into the same stance I use to transform every morning. "Besides, your grandson watches all the time. He might end up using my techniques so you may as well see where he learned it from."

As I say this Macao and Wakaba stand at the other end of the clearing, with Laxus and Makarov now standing to the side far enough away to avoid any loose fire.

"Same as usual guys, only this time is a little different." I say, now holding out my hand with Model Z appearing in it while facing towards them. "I've got something to try out now that I've mastered this one."

"Mastered what?"

"Hey Macao, what do you think he's talking about?"

"Ready?" I say as I charge up my dash jets slightly.

As I say this Macao and Wakaba start charging up their respective magic volleys.

"Begin!" I shout as I dash at them stopping halfway.

Due to my unexpected stop the both of them to miss since they were aiming for where I was going to be. In the moment that they spent attacking, I stand in my transformation stance Model Z in front of me as I shout:

"Megamerge!"

As Model Z finishes saying that, I feel the armor of Model X coming off with my body changing back to base before it changes once more into a shorter but more light form. The weight is completely different, Model X's weight being heavier, probably to make recoil easier to deal with. While this new body is lighter, probably to make blitz maneuvers that Zero is known for easier.

As my body finishes changing I can feel the armor placing itself on me and an equal amount of power to X's flowing through me, except it seems different somehow. More refined for lack of a better word, as if while the amount is the same the potency is completely different.

As the black, white and red armor finishes placing itself on me, I can feel something pull out of the helmet. And as soon as that happens there is a light weight at the back of my head. Must be the new hair.

As the light dies down, I can see the stunned looks on everyone's faces as they look at my new form. In that little instant I summon the Z-saber and dash at Macao, knowing he'll recover faster than Wakaba from the surprise. As I do so, they seem to recover from their shock but its too late as I'm already on them. Zero's dash seems to be faster than X's, I was able to make the entire distance without charging it unlike X's.

As I stop in front of Macao knowing, thanks to HUD's beam of info on my current rig, that the Z-saber is set to stun when fighting humans. I slash at Macao, hitting him away and into Wakaba knocking him over in the process.

As they do this, I shift the Z-saber into Buster Shot configuration and get ready for if they attack from a distance. Instead I hear them shouting at me.

"Where the heck did that come from!?" huh, they were even in sync too.

"Didn't I say that I had something to test out?" I say, my voice sounding different than in X form. Guess my voice changes to suit the biometal, but it still sounds like me just a bit different than usual.

"That's so cool!" Shouted Laxus, acting like the kid he is for once.

"How is this testing something out?" Shouted Wakaba, his cigarette falling out as he shouts. "Usually when you say that you're doing something crazy like using an untested spell or a new attack on us!"

"Yeah, this was a little out of nowhere." Said Macao just as confused as Wakaba. "Not to mention you look completely different too. What did you do?"

"I just used a different Take Over than usual, that's all." I said tilting my head to the side, I really need to stop that. "Why are you guys looking at me like that?"

I asked this because now Macao, Wakaba and Makarov are all looking at me as if I were some sort of alien. And Laxus seems to have stars in his eyes, what?

"You use Take Over?" Asked Makarov, a look of intrigue on his face. "That magic was just recently discovered!"

"Just discovered? What do you mean?" I am so confused.

"We just found out people can use Take Over magic not that long ago," explained Macao, seemingly forgetting that we were in a spar just now. "In fact our newest member was the one who discovered it."

"Really? I've been using it for a while before we met though."

"What!?" Why do I keep getting these reactions from them?

"Wait a minute," said Wakaba holding his hands up in the universally known pause gesture. "Rep, are you the one who saved Bruno and Jane from the vulcan?"

"You guys know Bruno and Jane?" I say remembering the first people I met in this world. "How are they? Is Bruno still having trouble with his arm? The Beast Soul branch can get a bit difficult to control."

"So you are the one who saved them," I heard Macao murmur to himself, but I don't think I was supposed to hear that. Does Zero have enhanced hearing or something?

"I see, so I not only have you to thank for Laxus' improvement," Says Makarov, nodding his head. "But also for saving my children and aiding them in discovering an entirely new magic."

"I didn't help them discover a new magic," I say, shaking my head. "It's always been around, it's just people seem to be narrow minded enough to think that just because a monster uses it, that people can't."

"I see," said Makarov, looking at me curiously. "You said that 'the Beast Soul branch can be difficult to control'. Does that mean there are other 'branches' of Take Over?"

"Yeah," I say nodding my head trying to remember what I read about the magic back on Earth. "There are five branches, Bruno uses one of the harder to control branches."

"I see," said Makarov, now looking at me with a serious expression. "Would you be interested in joining Fairy Tail?"

What?

"You mean it Grandpa!?" Shouted Laxus, why is he so excited? Sheesh he seems so different than when we first met. "Teach can join the guild!?"

Teach? Eh, roll with it.

"Yes, he seems to have a wealth of knowledge on the newly discovered Take Over magic." Makarov says, a thoughtful look on his face. "If he were to join Fairy Tail and share this magic with the guilds that would be a major boon to magic society as a whole."

Was Take Over magic not common? I thought that it was commonly known since Elfman and Lisanna were able to learn how to use it instead of being born with it like Mira.

"I would be more than willing to share what I know," I say, shaking my head to decline before starting a lie. "But I'm not ready to join a guild yet, my specialized form of Take Over can get a little volatile."

"That's the reason you're out here?" asked Macao, clearly saying what's on everyone's mind besides me. "To keep from losing control?"

"Yeah," I began to explain. "My transformations have a lot of power in them, so I isolate myself while training to avoid hurting people by accident. I just mastered my X form, the one with blue armor, and now need to work on this one."

"X form?" Asked Laxus, his head tilted and looking like a curious child. "What does that mean?"

"Take Over can have different forms you use," I began to speak, even taking on the same lecture pose as a certain twin-tailed tsundere. "Take Over isn't a magic that uses solely one transformation, there can be multiple with masters even being able to use different Take Over souls on different limbs, or doing a full body transformation like me."

"Full body? You mean you transformed your whole body?" asked Makarov, disbelief obvious in his tone. "How is that possible?"

Still in the lecture pose I back away so that I can see everyone in the group. Having HUD aid me in keeping my thoughts in order as well as having him dig into my head to bring out as much information as he can for my impromptu lesson.

"Full body Take Over, is possible once the Take Over user has gained the ability to fully subjugate and absorb the soul of their target. I do the same but with different effects in that I combine the two different versions of full body to have what I use now." I continue to lecture, for some reason I can feel my new hair swinging back and forth behind me even though there isn't any wind. "Full body Take Over is an extremely advanced technique not meant to be used before one has a large amount of magic power along with a nearly unbreakable will. To attempt to do otherwise would essentially be like if a vulcan were to use Take Over on a human, and strengthen the soul while also practically handing them your body to use, though this is applied to the majority of the Take Over branches-"

I ended up giving a whole spiel on Take Over magic, even going into my theories on how it interacts with other magic as well as the differences between the branches. I didn't realize how long I was basically lecturing them on it. By the time I finished the whole lecture I realized that not only were all four of them sitting and listening very attentatively, with Laxus even having a notebook somehow, but also the fact that the sun was already setting.

"We can continue this another time," I said while looking at the sky. "The sun's about to set and I would rather that Laxus doesn't travel at night. Laxus make sure you come back bright and early tomorrow, your real training starts then."

"But I want to-" Laxus begins to say

"No Laxus, you need to go home." I interrupted him "I refuse to let my student put himself in unneeded danger."

"You see Laxus as your student?" asked Makarov, now standing along with Macao and Wakaba who are looking a little dazed.

"Well, I've been training him for a few months now." I begin to explain while shrugging. "I may as well be considered his teacher at this point."

"I see," He says as he turns to Laxus a wide grin on his face. "You hear that Laxus? You have a master now!"

As Makarov says this and it sinks in for Laxus he turns to me and does a bow, I totally forgot that this world uses japanese customs.

"I look forward to learning from you!"

"Of course, just take this seriously and we won't have any problems."

Scene Change: Forest Southeast of Magnolia now known as the Fairy's Garden, Training Ground, Year x761

P.O.V Laxus

The past year has been absolutely amazing.

I finally know what gramps meant when he talks about a never-ending adventure, about how those you fight with are your family. And it's all thanks to Teach, my Master!

Ever since he started teaching me about magic and how to fight, I've been getting so much stronger! At first I was really confused, but after the first two months I started to get it. And then Teach took me as his first student! I was so excited and was wondering what would come next.

Only for Teach to 'throw me into a training regiment from hell', like Macao and Wakaba said.

It was really hard, but I knew that Teach was pushing himself even harder. I saw Teach learning how to use lightning magic just like me so he could teach me better. I saw him practicing his own lightning magic while fighting with Macao and Wakaba, he even stopped using his weapons which would've made it so he could win their spars, just to fight using his fists and teach me better.

So I threw myself into the training as much as I could, following Teach's example.

I got so much stronger when I did that, and when I saw Teach look proud of me I knew that I had to get stronger and work even harder. So I started training even harder, pushing myself more and more. Until I couldn't anymore, and fell asleep in the middle of training.

I think that was the first time I ever saw Teach get mad, but he wasn't mad at me.

I don't know who he was mad at, but that was when Teach taught me the way he trains. He said he learned it from a wise old martial artist named Master Roshi.

Work hard, rest well. Eat and Sleep plenty.

I constantly spoke that phrase in my head, knowing that Teach would only ever tell me not to train if it was serious. He never stops training, but still takes breaks after all. He always just lays on the ground and closes his eyes when he does.

And whenever I get hungry he always makes something to eat! It wasn't as good as the food in the guild hall but Teach would always make it for me and never eat anything himself, he even started packing food for me at the beginning of training and making sure I ate breakfast before training.

Though I also noticed how scary Teach can be too. Whenever I do something bad that I learned from Macao and Wakaba he always tests something on them. It's really scary, and I don't ever want to be a part of those tests. It always ends with Macao and Wakaba covered in cuts and bruises, while passed out in a pile. I don't know how but they always end up in a pile of something, last time it was hay. They always end up in a pile of something.

Speaking of, Teach just finished doing his tests on Macao and Wakaba. Seems the pile this time is a pile of bodies, luckily it's just the usual group of vulcan and they're only passed out.

"I hope all of you have learned your lesson." Oh, Teach still has that look that Jane does sometimes when Bruno is being stupid. He even has his arms crossed. "You better not do that around Laxus again, or else I'll up the voltage, and aim lower."

After finishing with them, Teach turns around to look at me. "You better not repeat what they just did, understand Laxus?"

"Yes, Teach!"

I don't want to end up like them.

"Ugh, you're less of a teacher and more like a f*cking mom." oh no, Wakaba just pressed the M button. And he even said the bad word!

"I am not a mom, Wakaba." His helmet gem was glowing too, take cover! "And it seems you didn't learn your lesson yet, time for a few more tests."

After that, I ran behind a tree and didn't look. I could hear Wakaba's screams for a little while after that.

As soon as Wakaba stopped screaming I looked at where Teach and Wakaba were, and saw that he was lying on the ground covered in a few burns along with the usual cuts and bruises, though Macao was just sitting on his knees next to him.

"Do I have to keep going?" Teach is really mad this time. "Or are you guys going to actually act like responsible adults in front of an impressionable child."

Yeah, as great of a Master Teach is, he's also really scary.

And really girly for some reason too.

A/N:

Ok, I don't really want to put too much here, but I have to address that the OC is not an SI. I originally meant to have him as an SI but I changed it from one when I noticed that he wouldn't be me in that Rep would do things I wouldn't do.

Also, for the humour being a little more prevalent in this chapter and there being no fight scene this time, this was my attempt to show a little bit more of Fairy Tail's brand of comedy, as well as to try and show the little recurring jokes that I'm going to have. Like Rep's tests and him being rather feminine when he's taking care of someone or at least feminine by Fairy Tail standards, meaning he kicks the asses of people who are misbehaving and is constantly worrying about how much his students eat or take care of themselves. Basically he'll act like a stereotypical asian mom most of the time.

This will also play into some other things like Laxus having an actually good parental figure now, and the Strauss siblings getting a teacher who will know what they're doing and warning them about the dangers of full body Take Over.

And maybe even give Erza a teacher for her to learn swordsmanship from, since we have no idea who taught her in canon as well as to make it so that her behavior in trying to discipline the guild will have a sort of origin.
