Damon heads into the warehouse. I look in the door. Just watching what happens. Damon looks around a bit then Logan Fell shoots him multiple times. Damon groans in pain and falls to his knees. I flinch. There is nothing I can do to help him without getting killed.
"I have tons of these wooden bullets, so nothing funky," Logan says circling around Damon, holding the gun.
"You don't wanna do this, trust me." Damon says. Logan shoots him in the shoulder, he screams in pain.
"That's what you get." Logan says.
"For what?" Damon asks. Logan crouches in front of Damon.
"You made me like this," Logan says.
No, he didn't. he never had the chance.
"I killed you. I didn't turn you," Damon says, confirming what I knew.
Damon pulls one of the bullets out of his chest breathing heavy. I use my magic to make it come easier. Logan holds up one of the wooden bullets and examines it.
"See I know what you and your brother are. I've been watching the two of you. I knew you'd show up here and I'm glad you did because I have some questions." Logan says I'm surprised he has no idea what Enzo, Godric and I are. Damon pulls another bullet out with my help.
"Me first. Who turned you?" Damon asks.
I don't think Logan knows. That would be why he assumed it was Damon. Logan crouches down getting into Damon's face.
"How should I know? Last thing I remember is I'm about to stake your brother and then you grabbed me. That's it! Until I wake up in the ground behind a used car dealership on highway 4. Somebody buried me." Logan says.
"It happens," Damon says while pulling a bullet from his leg. I give him my help again. Damon is right there are a fair few vampires who were buried and had to dig themselves out. "Ow."
"It had to be you," Logan insists.
"You have to have vampire blood in your system when you die. I didn't do that. Some other vampire found you, gave you, their blood." Damon says while groaning and falling back.
"Who?" Logan asks.
"That's what I wanna know," Damon says.
"Dude, it's not like the welcome wagon was waiting with a Bundt cake and a handbook." I could add a cake to the welcoming book for our bloodline. That is an interesting idea. "It's been a learn as you go process. You know, one minute. I'm a small town on the rise news guy and next thing I know I can't get into my house. Because my foot won't go through the door." Logan says.
Damon sits up and pry's another bullet out with my help. "You have to be invited in," he says.
"I know, I live alone" Logan states. Odd he must be renting. If he is, then the ownership goes back to the landlord when he died. Otherwise, if he was the sole owner, he would be able to get in.
"Ah," Damon chuckles. "That sucks,"
"So now, I am at the Ramada, watching pay per view all day eating everything in sight, including housekeeping." Logan says. There are moments like these that I am grateful I am not a vampire.
"It could be worse," Damon says. Which is also true. He could be like my Kol.
"All I can think about is blood and killing people. I can't stop killing people. I keep killing." Logan says laughing maniacally getting agitated. "And I like it. I'm conflicted."
"Welcome to the club," Damon says. Logan stands up. "Wait a minute. Cops only found one body," he is right.
"I left one, I was tired. But I've been hiding the rest of the bodies. They're right back there," Logan says. Point to a pile of bodies with his gun.
"You're kidding," Damon says.
"They're just piling up!" Logan exclaims. Yes, they are Mr. Fell. Yes, they are. "Why am I so overly emotional? All I can think about is my ex-girlfriend, I wanna be with her and bite her and stuff," Logan says. He probably loves her. I am glad she didn't let him in.
"Well, you probably love her. Anything you felt before will be magnified now. You're gonna have to learn how to control that." Damon says.
"What about walking in the sun? I'm a morning person. You can walk in the sun which, by the way is pretty cool," Logan says. I notice Damon flex his hand with his ring and hide it with his other hand. I really hope Logan didn't notice that. "The council will never suspect you. That's not in the journals."
"The journals?" Damon asks.
"Yeah, the founding fathers, they passed down journals to their kids. Come on man, you gotta tell me. How can you walk around in the sun?" He asks again. I will have to get my hands on his journal I give myself a mental memo to go to his place and get the journal.
"Who turned you?" Damon presses.
"How do you walk in the sun?" Logan presses back.
"Who turned you?" Damon asks again.
"You know, I've been really nice so far, but I will kill you," Logan threatens. Logan stands and points the gun at Damon again.
"Then you'll never know," Damon says standing up. "You're not answering my question."
"You first!" Logan exclaims.
"It seems we're at a bit of an impasse then, doesn't it?" Damon says. This could take years; I really hope it doesn't. I know vampires who have been in a stale mate for decades.
"I have things to do, people to kill, Guess I'll be needing a little head start," Logan says.
I quickly hide. I hear him shoot a couple of times. I hear Damon groan, and something hit the ground and a vampire running. I see something pass my sight. I head in to see Damon on the ground.
"I will be if you help me," he says.
"Of course," I hold my hands over his body forcing magic into force the bullets out.
"You helped earlier," he states.
"I tried. I didn't want it to be obvious to Logan Fell," I say.
"I gathered that," he says standing. "We should go find him"
"Jenna is at the school career festival," I tell him. "So, he will probably go there. But you should grab a snack first."
I arrive at the school to see Jeremy and Tyler fighting. I see Alaric and Mayor Lockwood break them up.
"Alright, work it out tough guy," Alaric says to Jeremy.
"You two follow me," Mayor Lockwood says to the boys. Tyler and Jeremy follow the mayor.
"Excuse me, Mayor." Alaric stops them. "Where are you taking them?"
"I'm going to talk to them. All fights should end in handshakes, don't you think?" Mayor Lockwood lies. "Come on." He says to Tyler and Jeremy.
I decide to follow them. They might need protection. We end up in a secluded area outside the school
"Ok, let's get it out of your system, go ahead, fight." The mayor says
"You want us to what?" Jeremy asks taken aback.
"I'm not gonna fight him, dad," Tyler says turning to his dad.
"I don't think so sir." Jeremy agrees, he tries to leave but the mayor stops him.
"You don't fight in there like pansies. You take it outside, fight your battles like men, and move on. Best lesson my dad taught me. So, let's settle it, fight." Mayor says. I step out and stand behind him. I gesture for the boys to stay quiet.
"Come on, dad." Tyler says.
"That's not gonna happen," Jeremy says.
"I said fight!" Mayor yells. Tyler tries to leave but the mayor pushes him into Jeremy.
"Oh, there you are Tyler, Jeremy. I have been looking everywhere for you," I say. Tapping my heels a bit acting like I just walked up.
The mayor quickly turns around and sees me. "And you are?" he asks.
"I'm Siv," I say. "I have met your lovely wife a few times. She said the boys could help me out with a few things around my house. So, a approached the boys a few days ago to see if they could help me with some construction around my house,"
"She did? You did?" He asks skeptically. I am glad Carol did volunteer her son to help me with anything I needed.
"Yes, they did. We should start immediately." I speak. "Come, gentlemen. Do escort me back."
"Yes, a woman shouldn't walk alone," Jeremy says playing along.
I giggle. Tyler and Jeremy both take one of my arms. We start to walk back to the school. I turn back to the mayor.
"Maybe your father was wrong. But if I were to hazard a guess, he was wrong about more then that." I say. We walk back to the school. "Tyler, I will need an escort back to my home. You may sleep there for the night. I don't want you traveling alone in the dark," I say.
"I don't need you saving me," Tyler spits out at me eyes narrowing. Jeremy goes to say something. I put up a finger silencing him.
"I wasn't asking to save you Tyler. I heard you were a great fighter. I was hoping to use that for good, by having you protect me on the way home. There have been quite a few deaths in the area lately. I would feel a lot more comfortable." I sort of lie to him.
"Alright, Siv. Of course." He says. Jeremy wanders off. "Would you like me to stay with you for the rest of the night, so you don't get hurt?"
"Of course, I do." I say with a smile. We continue to make our way through the fair. "Have you decided what you want to become?"
"A little bit. I want to become an artist. I will need to do something else as well," he says, looking at the floor while we walk past the booths.
"I could ask around. If you make me some sketches or show me some of your current sketches. I can show them and see what response I get back," I offer.
"You know the art world?" He asks, his eyes lighting up.
"Yes, a little. Mt bother in law is an accomplished artist. He even has a painting or two in the Louvre." I say.
"That would be amazing thank you," he says. "We will need to get a ride from Matt. I didn't bring my truck," he takes me out to Matt's truck.
"It's alright," I say as we wait. I see Matt walking up. "I shall give you two a moment," I step a little ways away, still close enough to hear.
"Siv and I need a ride," Tyler says.
"Sure," Matt agrees. I notice he wants to say more so I stay where I am. "Look, I like Caroline. She's got this thing… This way about her… and I like her, okay? And I'm not gonna defend it or apologize about it," Matt says.
"Okay," Tyler agrees.
"So, stop your little bromance bitch act," Matt says. I am a little bit lost.
"Okay," Tyler says calmly.
I feel something get thrust through my body, just scraping my heart. I look down and see a stake sticking out of my chest.
"Siv," I hear Tyler yell as I collapse to the ground. "What did you do?" He yells as Sheriff Forbes who was standing behind me.
"I thought I was getting rid of a vampire," she says shocked. Blood starts pooling in my mouth. I start coughing and spitting it out covering my face in it. Matt flips me to my side so it's easier for me to cough it out. Jeremy joins in holding me up.
"What do you mean a vampire?" Jeremy asks.
"There have been vampires attacking the locals," she admits.
"Well, it's not Siv. She's been more then kind to everyone!" Matt says upset. I see Damon run over out of the corner of my eye.
"What happened to her?" he asks the Sheriff. He seems scared and worried.
"I staked her thinking she was a vampire." Sheriff says freaking out.
"I already tested her with vervain. It is less deadly to humans because a stake to the heart can kill a human as well as you can see." He yells at her getting louder the further he gets into his speech. "You must have missed her heart. That's the only reason she is still alone. We need to get her to the hospital." The turns to the sheriff again. "And you better pray she makes it or you will have a lot of angry people on your hands including your daughter."
Matt and Tyler lift me into the Truck. Tyler has my head in his lap. Damon holding the rest of my body. I try to speak.
"What is it Siv?" Damon asks seeing me. I cough some more. He leans his ear to my mouth. Only he would be unafraid to get my blood on him.
"Tyler," I say panting.
"What about Tyler?" Damon asks looking murderous at Tyler.
"He can stay," I get out slowly while panting and coughing.
"He can stay where?" Damon asks confused.
"She told me I could stay at her place. She might be trying to say that I can still spend the night at her house," Tyler deduces. I nod my head. It' slower then I would like. We arrive at the hospital, and I am immediately taken in. I hand Tyler the Gilbert watch.
"Jeremy," I say as they take me away. He looks confused but I can no longer stay awake. I close my eyes and the world goes dark.
Next think I know I am waking up and my room is full of teenagers. Tyler wakes up. I guess he felt me shift.
"You're awake," he whispers,
"Yeah," I say just as quiet. "Did you give the watch to Jeremy?"
"I did, why was that so important?" He asks.
"Because it is his. I did not want someone to take it again." I explain.
"He was grateful to have it back. He did say that you should have waited till later," Tyler says.
"Did you stay here the whole time?" I ask. I look at his clothes. They have blood on them.
"Yeah, I couldn't just leave you. You protected me from my dad. Even when you were bleeding out. How did you know?" He asks.
"I had a feeling he was lying to Alaric. I followed you all. If my feeling was wrong, I would not have stepped in. My father-in-law beat his kids. It was more common in my time, but what he did to my brother-in-law was not in correction. It was him trying to prove he was the stronger, better man. I hate men like that, they are weak." I explain getting upset thinking about Niklaus. "I should have done more back then, but I didn't. I know when I help others it does not make up for that, but it makes me feel better."
"Well, thank you none the less," he says. The rest of the teens start to wake up.
"Siv, you're awake." Caroline says. She lunges to give me a hug.
"Be careful," Tyler says. "She's still injured."
"I hope you're not mad at me for what my mom did to you. I can't believe she would do something like that. There were no bases for her to accuse you of being a vampire," she rants.
"Don't worry Caroline. I can understand your mom's fear. I would have done the same. I would have found out if she was a vampire in a safer way. But the sentiment is the same." I say.
"I have no idea how you're so understanding. I would be so pissed," Jeremy says.
"I have had centuries of practice." I say. They look at me funny. "I guess it is time to tell my tale. Get comfortable it is not a short one. Over one-thousand years ago, before Mystic Falls was called Mystic Falls…."
