"Well, we have some more mystery to deal with, but to celebrate the partners' return..." Angela announced. "I hereby form a new Investigation Team in response to the Midnight Channel going back on the air last night!"
"Wow! A new Investigation Team is coming!" Jumpson approved.
"Let's go! The New Investigation Team has arrived!" System No. XX applauded.
"Why not applause? We're back, after all." David told Angela.
Angela then giggled for a while. Then the team stopped to get infos.
"Well, let's get cracking." David told the team. "I mean, c'mon, this is no laughing matter."
"We've lost contact to pretty much the rest of the alliance we're part of." Angela reported.
"Oh, and the last time I did something, I checked on Captain Velvet Meteor." Jumpson reported.
"Uh... One thing's been bothering me on my idle." System No. XX brought up something. "The picture on the TV was very clear last night."
"Well... yeah." David approved about the suspicion. "If the pattern the original Investigation Team found about the Midnight Channel applies, it wouldn't be that clear until after the 'victim' entered the TV."
"A big group of people was shown together, just like the case of P-1 Grand Prix." Angela discussed. "However, we're still here."
"Why us now!?" Jumpson complained. "And what's up with those ridiculous descriptions!?"
"And then there's Teddie of the original Investigation Team." David discussed. "He was acting like the host of that show, just like the case Angela mentioned."
"No sign of Teddie anywhere other than the commercial ever since I got in there." System No. XX noted. "It's best to find out by going inside the TV."
David then gave the note Nanako apparently left and... "And to exit the TV world, we need something like an 'exit' TV Teddie is capable of creating."
System No. XX reads the note, and quietly confirmed that Nanako wrote the note.
"Oh, so Nanako warned us..." David realized. "Anyways, Teddie typically were asked to keep the exit TV out on that side."
"So original Investigation Team are quite well-prepared." System No. XX commented.
"Oh yeah, and at this point, there's no doubt that something's going on in there." David concluded. "Let's investigate. Is everyone ready?"
"We're all good to go." Jumpson agreed. "To tell the truth, I had a hunch that everything was going to happen."
The New Investigation Team shared the seriousness and continued to trust each other, despite their differences and the recent mayhems.
The large-screen TV in the electronic department, directly below the food court, used by the original Investigation Team as the main entrance to the TV world. The New Investigation Team decided to go there and enter. Mostly unbeknownst to them, that was an illusion and a trap leading to the tournament advertised in the commercial.
The New Investigation Team fell down with the flow, but the flow is even more different than it already was back in P-1 days in year 2012.
shocked* "Isn't this even more different!?" - Angela
"Oh no! What do we do!?" - System No. XX
"What can we do!? We cannot stop now!" - David
everyone screamed*
backs to the Last Velvet*
"Welcome to the Velvet Room, now the Last Velvet." The beautiful woman greeted David.
"That vibrant blue room..." David recognized the room. "It's the Velvet Room!"
"What's going on, also!?" David wondered. "Didn't I have a contract at all?"
And Igor is nowhere to be seen. Instead, the one doing the greeting is the woman in blue previously appeared. The woman is wearing a dress similar to a certain infamous princess who wasn't allowed to cry, but in blue. And she has silver hair and yellow eyes.
Could this be a personal summoning, then?
"This room is tied to the passage of fate." The woman said. "Nothing that occurs here is meaningless."
"Who are you?" David asked the woman.
"I am Soleanna Princess Elise the Xrd." The woman introduced herself. "Though you reached an end to one journey, you now find yourself here again..."
"This shows that you will once again be faced with a question." Elise-X continued.
"A question?" David wondered. "Then something really is going on?"
"From here on, what befalls you will upset your status quo..." Elise-X told David. "It is true that you have opened the door once already. But all things change; nothing ever remains the same."
"What you gained before will change over time as well." Elise-X warned David. "You will have to face them once again."
"Face them again?" David then remembered. "Oh, it has been with Smasher, Lucy and Rebecca, and now... this?"
"Show me how you will proceed down the path that awaits beyond the door you've opened..." Elise-X told David.
Then all goes black for a while.
Meanwhile...
"In conclusion, this island only returned to serve the coming tournament." Reiji concluded. "Combining its original forms with the Sea of Blood and the TV world... is suspicious."
"P-1 Grand Prix is starting by the time we've finished this." Kogoro declared. "We have to attend and see it unfolds."
"Seemingly every single iterations of the Velvet Room has been destroyed." Makoto Yuki commented. "However, there's one variation we haven't checked yet. The limo variant for the Investigation Team."
"Yeah, I know. We've been there a lot." Yu confirmed.
"Let's go to the arena and see something there!" Ren Amamiya then went ahead. "To the critical point!"
"Loot Lake. That's where!" The alliance then ran towards the place.
Meanwhile...
"Get ready for the next battle!" The announcer declared.
wakes up* "Where am I?" David wondered.
David is in the fighting arena. "That was unexpected."
"No, that's not right..." David is feeling the suspicion. "This is... no wait. This has to be the TV world."
"Also, why am I not with my friends, but instead... some cheers?" David realized something's wrong.
"Helloooo!!! Sorry for the wait!" Tempti of Joy appeared in a flying monitor, announcing. "Greetings, everyone from another worlds! The P-1 Grand Prix Cross Edition is about to begin!"
"There's no need for manners or courtesy or anything today, so let it all hang out!" Tempti told the contestants. "Tell us how you really feel!"
"What the!?" David is surprised. "P-1 Grand Prix!?"
Tempti never responded to the questions. David instead heard the cheering and looked around in surprise.
"Huh!?" David is confused.
"Ahe-he-hem! May I have your attention, please!" Tempti said. "I, Tempti of Joy, will be your commentator! But first, the General has a few words for you all!"
"What's going on!?" David is shocked.
General Teddie appeared, the same as P-1 Grand Prix it is.
giggles* "You're all here now." General Teddie muttered. "Well then! I'm proud to announce the opening of the omniversal edition of our bear-y P-1 Grand Prix!"
"That's the same bizarre tournament shown in that freaking commercial!" David responded. "Are you the one behind this insanity, you motherfuckers!?"
"And what's going on here!? We did nothing too ridiculous, and..." David continued.
"Ughhh, always with the talking, Mr. Cyberpunk!" General Teddie is frustrated. "It's a big waste of time!"
"Less talk and more fighting!" General Teddie then went ahead to summon the opponent. "Would the next challenger come on down!"
General Teddie looked away and made a dismissive gesture. Smoke suddenly bursts out from underneath David, briefly blinding him. It took a bit, a while to clear the field of vision. David kept his guard up.
Angela is summoned to the arena.
"Phew, thanks goodness you're safe!" David saw Angela. "But am I supposed to fight you?"
"Not funny at all." David then calmed down. "Great... they're expecting you and me to fight."
"Yeah... what's the servants thinking?" Angela replied.
The monitor again...
growls* "Starting that up already?" General Teddie is frustrated. "I won't let you get all buddy-buddy with each other!"
"These battles are fought to the death!" General Teddie told David and Angela. "Only the victor can proceed!"
"This joke's gone on far enough, choom." David responded. "We're not going to play along with that."
Then David looked at Angela, hoping that she would agree with him. But...
"Really? Then I must be the winner by decision." Angela replied.
"Angela?" David is confused.
"What? You don't plan on fighting?" Angela responded. "Then that means you gets disqualified, I win by default and you lose automatically."
"What's gotten to you, Angela?" David is frustrated. "I didn't expect you to say it!"
"Then again, Nanako is also somewhere." Angela replied.
"Nanako's is here?" David is confused.
"Wait... you've not seen her?" Angela replied back. "Well... she's with the General. Again."
"What!? What the fuck?" David is shocked. "The TV world tires people out quickly, and can be fatal to whoever doesn't have Persona! Besides, Nanako can't get in on her own!"
"Where's she!?" David furiously asked Angela.
"You're being hysterical here..." Angela responded.
"Why are you so fucking calm about this!?" David asked back. "Didn't you realize what happened to Nanako whenever she's in the TV world!?"
"Are you sure that Nanako is with General Teddie?" David asked calmly now.
"This time, you don't need to know." Angela refused to properly answer. "She apparently still with him."
"Why are you worried about Nanako when Yu is the one to protect her?" Angela asked. "You just copied the sister complex from Yu, then." *smiles*
David is shocked at the remarks.
"Angela, are you alright?" David asked Angela.
"Actually, I should be the one saying that to you." Angela replied. "Also, Nanako's not even your sister at all. You're not even in the same world as her."
"Too late, cyberpunk." Angela said.
"Then I'm afraid that you're not yourself anymore, Angela." David responded. "How could you be so callous?"
"Feast with your cybernetics." Angela t
opened her book. "You'll get your fight."
"Miss, what are you saying?" David asked Angela. "You said I'd lose by default?"
"We're all real people." Angela said.
"I don't know if you're being controlled again or if something else's going on here..." David responded. "Either way, you must understand the best way to resolve the situation."
"Sorry, but I'm gonna go all out." David decided. "I'm not gonna kill you, but no hard feelings."
"Huuuh?" Tempti is confused. "All that talk, and you're gonna fight against your ally after all?"
"Because of this shitty tournament." David responded. "That's all."
"Well, whatever!" Tempti put back on her excitement. "Let's hurry up and get this started!"
"Ready...!"
Angela summoned the pages out of the book, trying to bombard David.
"Bring it on, Librarian!" David then dodged the pages of doom with Sandevistan, and appeared behind Angela.
"Very well. You're blitzing fast." Angela commented. "Can you handle the E.G.O.?" *summons abnormalities as actions, using spells on book*
David then traded blows with Angela, dodging each other's attacks and bursting against her defense, with David's uses of Sandevistan. Leading to David being physically intercepted by those abnormalities, while Angela gets bruises. All happened very fast, while Tempti has been commentating all along.
This came as a boon to David, because he has the magical enhancements prior, which allowed him to fight greatly against the magical forces, like whatever Angela casted. Then again, Angela casted brighter and more powerful than ever before. Could it be?
The Sephirot and Rebecca stumbled upon each other, and has been watching the fight since. They're all amazed at the intensity, yet are horrified at what they're dealing with.
"In the end, in this fight, only one victor stands!" Tempti commented. "Just who will it be? The cyberpunk or the librarian?"
"E.G.O. and out." Angela took the E.G.O. pages and went with the barrage.
David clashed with Angela's E.G.O. that she brought up, he took Sandevistan to dodge the most fatal of the strikes when to be dealt.
Then David used Sandevistan just in time and punched Angela in her face.
"K.O.!"
Angela collapsed. Her book fell off.
"I win." David bluntly declared.
laughs* "Amazing, cyberpunk!" General Teddie congratulated David. "Keep that up and zoom on ahead!"
"Ahead? You're going to continue with this?" David asked General Teddie. "Shitty General, about Genjitsu-no-Omnia, Midnight Channel and Nanako..."
"What!? How did you guess Empress Zero's name!?" General Teddie is surprised.
"We spied on her yesterday." David bluntly replied.
"By the way... I don't want to spoil the surprise." General Teddie continued. "If you want to know more, you'll have to get to me!"
"And I can't say why, but I think you should hurry...!" General Teddie concluded.
The monitor shut off, flew away while the audience cheered towards David. Except the Sephirot shocked at Angela's defeat.
"Angela, are you alright?" David walked towards where Angela lies collapsed in the ground, returned her book and gave her a hand to help her up.
"You got me on this one, cyberpunk." Angela got up. "I thought you were going to kill you." *coughs blood*
tired over cyber* "The same went for you, librarian." David responded. "I wouldn't have stood a chance if I held back on you."
Angela grimaces in pain as she stands, but other than her coughing blood and the bruises, she doesn't seem to have suffered any severe injuries. David relieved, now that he couldn't just held back, but he could've actually seriously beat her up.
demeanor changes* "Anyways... The whole thing must be complicated." Angela told David. "After all, Omnia planned all of this."
"Wait a second... There's friends!" David noticed.
"Thanks goodness you're alive, though I don't really like you." Malkuth told Angela. "You lost?"
"At least I didn't go too far compared to what she gave me." David told the Sephira. "I'm scared of having to actually kill her brutally."
