Hiccup, coincidentally, was the first one up the next morning. His first concern was that it was dark; the embers of the fire had died long ago. "Toothless?" He whispered, earning a low growl. Is that Astrid? He felt around for a moment- Astrid was next to him; she'd taken her hair down sometime in the night, and there were blankets all around them, and he could hear the other dragons snoring softly around them. Huh. He'd passed out right after that… oh, yeah, the phantom pain.
That had been horrible.
But, with his friends, it actually hadn't been so bad. A new weight on his shoulder distracted him- Astrid had shifted and was now leaning against his shoulder. "Bud, gimme a slow burn." Toothless obeyed, illuminating a small semicircle- the others still slumbering although it was no doubt incredibly late, leaned up against their dragons, all close together. Peaceful. Happy. United.
Hiccup smiled, shifting so that he and Astrid were leaning against the wall. Toothless' plasma was swallowed back, and all was dark again. I have the best friends ever.
Maybe it was a bit of lingering magic from the night before, but they stayed that way for a long, long time.

I wrote that three months ago and I am cringing so flipping hard right now. Gods, help us all. But at least I'm uploading on time! I did want to mention that I'll be off the grid for the next three days, so I might be a bit late posting Monday's chapter. But we'll see :)
I dunno. But for the record I am NOT a Hiccelsa (Elsacup?) shipper. Never. Hiccup is married, that's weird. Anyways. So that was Hiccup, next is probably Snotlout! See you then!
