Sinking Fast-Ch 33

When the girls got to the hospital Derek and the others were just getting there, Derek and Mark ran over and helped their wives out of the car and picked them up and carried them inside. Fran had called both Penelope and Marcies doctors on the way to the hospital so they were both ready and waiting for the girls to arrive and when they did they were quickly ushered to separate delivery rooms.

erek smiled as he held his wife's hand and said, "are you ready to hold our little one"?, she squeezed his hand and said, "more than ready, more than readyyyyyyyyyyy" as a contraction rocked her body. Meanwhile in the other delivery room Marcie was fully dilated and ready to deliver, she looked up at Mark and smiled but that smile soon fell as she too was hit with another contraction.

Penelope looked up at Derek and said, "it's too early, the baby is too early", her doctor said, "don't worry about that, we have everything set up and ready for him or her, right now let's focus on delivering this little one". Penelope and Derek both nodded their heads as they readied for the next contraction because she was told that on the next one to push and to keep pushing until she was told to stop.

Marcie collapsed against the pillow and her doctor said, "you're doing great, you're doing great so on the next contraction we're going to deliver the head, are you ready"?, she nodded her head and said, "definitely". As she felt another contraction hitting she started squeezing Mark's hand and pushing and she pushed and pushed until she was told to relax.

Penelope blew out a deep breath and said, "I'm so tired, I'm so tired", Derek said, "you are doing great baby girl, it won't be long now, right doc"?, her doctor said, "he's right Penelope, you are just a few pushes away from holding your son or daughter in your arms, don't give up now" she then raised up and started pushing as another contraction hit.

Marcie relaxed against the pillows as Mark wiped her forehead, the doctor smiled and said,"alright the head is out, next comes the shoulders and then the rest of the baby okay"?, Marcie said, "okay" as she looked up at her husband and smiled. A few seconds later she was pushing again as another contraction hit, she heard the doctor say, "the shoulders are almost out, you are doing so good Marcie".

Penelope collapsed against her pillow and looked up at Derek as her doctor said, "the head is out, on the next contraction we will deliver the head and then the rest should be easy". Penelope said, "I'm all for easy" causing Derek and her doctor to both laugh but the laughter stopped when another contraction hit and she started pushing.

Marcie smiled as she heard the cries of her child fill the delivery room, her and Mark watched as the doctor cut the cord, she said, "how's my baby, is it okay"?, she cleaned off the babies face and said, "don't worry mommy, she's just fine" as she held up the little girl so that Mark and Marcie could see her.

She was placed on Marcie's stomach for a few seconds and Marcie said, "she's beautiful", Mark kissed the top of his wife's head and said, "she's beautiful just like her momma" and Marcie looked up at him and smiled as the tears started streaming down her tired face.

Penelope kept pushing until she heard the cries of her child fill the room, she collapsed against the pillows and Derek wiped her forehead and said, "you did it sweetness, our baby is here, you did it". Penelope tiredly said, "how's the baby, is the baby okay"?, the doctor cut the cord and smiled as she said, "hang on a sec momma and you can hold your son for a few seconds".

Derek said, "son, did you hear that sweetness, we have a son", Penelope said, "I heard hotstuff, I heard" and then the little screaming bundle was put on Penelope's stomach and she said, "ohhh lookey at what we did, he's gorgeous". Derek said, "with you as a mommy I wouldn't expect anything else" causing her to grin as tears of joy streamed down her face.

The doctor said, "we need to take him, clean him off and check him out but don't worry he's gonna be fine" and Penelope said, "thank you, thank you" as she watched the doctor hand her son over to the nurse. Penelope then totally exhausted laid back and closed her eyes but the last thing she saw before she fell asleep was the smile on her husbands face and that was a smile that she would never forget.
