72 Hours Part Six: The Miraculous Fourth Morning

Ryder woke up with a gasp, and looked down to his chest. Chase had been there when he was awake… had the pup gone somewhere to pass alone? Ryder bolted to his feet and started to run around the room. "Chase!? CHASE!? CHAAAAAAAAAAASE!" Ryder yelled out as he desperately searched for his pup.

Then, he heard the skittering of small feet across the floor, and turned around to see the pup sprinting towards him with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. Chase leaped into the air and tackled Ryder, causing the teenager to topple over onto the carpet as Chase walked on his chest and started to assault his face with affectionate licks. "Chase?" Ryder exclaimed.

"RYDER! You're awake!" Chase happily barked, nuzzling his owner.

"You're okay…?" Ryder whispered.

Then he recalled the dream.

"A lady named Mary came and told me that I was gonna be better now. And look! I feel like I just ate all the pup treats in the pantry, but I haven't eaten a thing! I'm full of energy!" Chase replied.

Tears formed in Ryder's eyes as he realized they had similar dreams, and that this was real. Chase was alive and well, he had beaten the odds. It was a miracle! Ryder started to laugh as he picked up Chase and twirled around with him in his arms. "You're alive, you're alive, Chase! I'm so happy, I'm so thankful! You and me, we're going to help others and we're going to change the world!" Ryder promised, beginning to shed tears of happiness as he hugged Chase.

Little did they know how true Ryder's words about them changing the world were, as Chase would go on to become the first member of the Paw Patrol, and his courage would inspire canines for centuries to come.
