Wendy and Carla are definitely going to be going with him. Yeah, I have some ideas on what Wendy and Carla will do during those arcs, and others as well. With those reviews out of the way, its time to start the chapter!
Chapter 11
The next day, Genki and Cana stood outside of the guild for Cait Shelter, after having come to a good plan within their minds, and looked towards both Carla and Wendy.
"Alright, we're going to be setting off now. But don't worry, Cana-san and I have managed to make a good sized detection area, so if any Mages or anyone for that matter comes to the village, we shall be alerted immediately."
Genki expressed, with Wendy nodding and pulling her hands together in a mini prayer like stance.
"Please be careful."
"We will, see you soon. Hopefully, with the enemy defeated."
Wendy shyly smiles, and Carla looks on, not revealing anything that she was feeling or thinking.
"T-Then when you get back...we could have some food..."
"Haha of course. Hopefully, today is the day that we find them. Fingers crossed, right?"
Genki says cheerfully, with Wendy nodding cutely.
Genki and Cana nod at one another, before leaving the area.
Wendy looks towards Carla, who in turn closes her eyes for a brief moment, before walking away, leaving Wendy to wonder what was going on with Carla.
Sometime after they did, people began emerging towards the village, their dangerous eyes set on Carla...
Genki and Cana walked out of the village for at least half an hour, and they hadn't come across anything. No areas that the Dark Guild could hide, Genki looked towards Cana who kept her hands down, and looked to be having a semi serious expression.
His eyes glanced around, a small but subtle smile appeared on his lips, and he thought "So, biding their time." and continued on, Cana herself seemed to have a dutiful expression on her face, and her fingers interlocked.
Walking for another ten or so minutes, they contemplated on what else to do, when suddenly he was approached by a young woman.
It was Angel.
She approached him, and got to his right hand side.
"Hey there, handsome. That's a pretty nice key you've got there." Genki looked towards the young woman, raising a brow. "You wouldn't be willing to part with it, would you?"
Genki shakes his head.
"Sorry no."
The young woman didn't like the answer.
"I don't want to do this you know? We can be kind to one another."
Cana remained unusually silent, but held hostile eyes for the woman before them, while Genki himself looked cool and calm.
"Like you didn't want to attack Cait Shelter?"
"That was a choice I did not have, and I might be forced to make another one that I do not like either."
Angel said it with a cold expression.
"It would be your choice what you do. But be aware, that we also wont back down from you."
Genki remained an enigma to the young woman, who in turn contemplated on how she was going to respond to this. She knew several ways it could go, and she knew what she had to do now before she could succeed in her plans.
Angel then produces a key which begins to shine with her magic flowing through it.
"Open, Gate of the Chisel, Caelum." From that, a metal sphere appears, with Genki glancing back towards her. "Darling, I don't think you appreciate the situation you've been put in. Now, why don't you hand over the key, and I wont have to use my spirit on you."
Being called darling by an enemy was...different and something Genki didn't think would happen.
But, all the same, he remained steadfast in his strong expressions, not even making any attempt to back down.
"Genki-kun, the boy with the cute face, and the sweetest smiles that sends hearts aflutter, at least according to what I have found out." Angel began approaching, with the metal sphere following her. "Silver keys also have their uses, you know? For instance, Caelum here, very good at destruction."
"Yes, that is true, there are good ways to utilize silver keys, which it seems you have done quite well."
"Such praise makes me happy. What a cute boy you are. However, it pains me, because I'm going to have to defeat you now."
"Come at me then."
The girl frowned upon hearing that provocation, seeing that Genki wasn't going to back down as easily as she thought that he would do.
"Now, be a good boy, and hand over the key, or I will have my hand forced."
Genki lightly smiled.
"I have another offer. Want to hear it?" Angel shrugged her shoulders. "Then, how about...you don't attack me, and you come with me peacefully. Really, I think that's the best way to go."
Though he knew she most likely wouldn't ever come with him peacefully, he thought that by saying it, he would throw her off her game a little, and to perhaps have her inadvertently reveal more information.
Angel scoffs, believing that she had heard something rather funny.
"So sweet. But sorry, I promise to cuddle you later. Now Caelum, fire!"
Angel ordered Caelum to fire, and within moments, it shifted to a cannon form. Genki stared on with intrigue, before it charged up with green energy. Genki could feel the mass of power that was building up, and before too long, it took aim at Genki.
It then did fire off a burst of magical energy for Genki in a laser like beam.
Angel began smirking...when she saw the beam of energy go right through Genki's form, as if he was a ghost.
"W-What?"
"Oh, would you look at that? Seems like it couldn't reach me."
Seeing his sweet smile, Angel grit her teeth.
"You..." Angel came to a realization, and she looked pale. "...aren't here. Thought Projection."
"Yes, that's certainly right, Angel-san."
Angel takes a step back, and looks towards Cana.
She hadn't spoken, not even a single time, when she had seen Cana was a rather chatty person, and now she chose to not even throw in a single jibe at her, it didn't seem right, and it was making Cana seem suspicious in Angels eyes.
"Is she a projection too?"
"Who knows. Maybe she is, maybe she isn't."
Angel smirked, and turned her cannon spirit towards Cana.
However, before the cannon could fire, Cana suddenly vanished as she dug underground, only for the earth to open up below Angel, who in turn grabs the side of the hole that had been opened.
Trying to pull herself up, Angel saw it was Virgo who had come out from underneath the ground, and aimed a kick towards her.
Angel managed to pull herself fully out of the ground, and rushed back several paces, having Caelum float beside her, and took aim towards Virgo. Virgo, who now was on the ground once more, back in her original form, stood against Angel, who looked on with narrowing brows.
"Flirting with the Prince, and trying to harm him at the same time, cannot go unpunished."
"Virgo?! So she took the form of that woman! Where is your comrade!?"
"Back at the guild, together with me, kicking the crap out of those Mages you sent to try and kidnap Carla-san while believing that we had left them alone to track you down, and left behind traps. Did you like the defences we set up? Looked real convincing, didn't it? Cana-san does have a good knack for using her cards in certain ways."
Angel looked worried, and now that she thought about what he said, another realization came over her.
"...Since you're back at the guild, those I sent there are being demolished...and you're going to be coming here...because you're also cutting off our escape routes, is that right?"
"Correct. Those Lacrima you had spy on us, Virgo-chan found them all. Though, I do wonder how you were able to plant them without being detected? I am interested..." Genki looked towards the keys she had with her, and tilted his head. "...Ooh, is that a Nikora key...? Well, that would certainly be near impossible to detect since its so low magic its near untraceable, very smart Angel-san."
Angel was shaking.
Both in anger...and enjoyment.
She didn't know why, but the idea of him being able to challenge her like this irritated and excited her at the same time.
"Now that you're here, and alerted us, we'll be coming for you pretty soon. Along with that backup you have behind the trees. Now that I've seen you, I wont let you get away."
Angel hugged her upper body, and began to have pink dusting on her cheeks.
"You wont let me get away? Is that a promise?"
Her tone was sultry, almost as if she wasn't in a fight. If it was a tactic she had going on, Genki truly didn't know.
"Eh...yes, that's right."
Angel giggles, and looks between Virgo and Genki.
"Then, I want to see how you hope to achieve this. Considering, I have a good few members with me. Even if you came directly, can you beat us all?"
"I guess we will have to find out soon." Genki waved his hand as his image began to fade away. "See you soon Angel-san. Virgo-chan, you know what to do."
"Yes, Prince. Leave it with me. Then, punishment could happen?"
Genki gave her a strange look, but nods ever so slightly as he knew Virgo truly wished to have such things and how happy it made her, along with Genki just wishing to make Virgo as happy as possible.
Virgo placed a hand to her chest, and show a rare delightful smile on her face.
"Yes, Prince. I understand completely. Allow me to do this task...and receive punishment from you. My Prince."
Angel gives Virgo a strange look, matching Genki's to a high degree, while Genki smiles lightly, and fully vanishes, leaving Virgo, and Angel alone together.
Angel, looking at her current circumstances, knew that she was going to be in for a difficult fight…
Back within the guild, it was under attack by various people, being lead by a duo called Gato and Zato. They both wielded guns, and fired off magical bullets towards those around. Genki and Cana both stepped up to fight them, while Wendy and Carla stood at a distance.
"Hah! Now you've come out, taste our-" Genki flashed before him, and delivered a moon fist into his stomach, his eyes popping gout of his head, and he went flying. "-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
Zato crashed into a wall, knocking him out cold, while Gato became shocked, turning to see Cana running towards him.
"You dare fight us!"
Turning his gun onto Cana, she paused briefly, as she saw Genki swing out his arms, blades of moonlight energy cutting down several of the Mages, and in turn caused Cana to quietly nod to herself.
"Its time to call forth, Winds Edge!"
Using multiple cards, Cana waves her hand in the direction of Gato, which releases a massive wave of wind that captures the enemy, blowing him back a good degree, allowing Cana to call forth another card, which she throws, and it slashes him across his body, forcing Gato to slam down into the ground with a whimpering sound.
"Good one Cana-san! Lets clean house, and get going!"
"Right, lets do it!"
Genki twirled around, at the same time he called out "Moon Dragons Roar!" releasing a beam of beautiful moonlight. The light swept through the area like a laser, and blasted several opponents away.
At the same time, Cana unleashes her cards, and they slice through the guns of enemies, and then the enemies themselves, forcing them down to the ground, and stopping them from going any further.
As they took out the enemies, Genki noticed a man approach Wendy.
He thought about taking him down, but also thought about Wendy, and to show her she had some good power within her, contacted her via telepathy.
"Wendy-san, you've got someone coming in from the right hand side. For you and Carla-san."
Wendy gasped, and turned to see the man coming for them.
She looked back to Genki, unsure, who in turn gave them encouraging words with his telepathy.
"Its alright, I am right here. If you need help, I will help you. But, I know you can do this. Show them, that it isn't okay to try and take your friend. Show them your power Wendy-san. Show them, you're a Dragon Slayer."
He did his best to encourage her, and the shy Wendy at first thought that she might not be able to do it.
But then she thought about Carla, and who the enemy had placed into danger.
Seeing Carla now, and the enemy approaching them, along with how hard Genki and Cana were fighting, it stirred something within Wendy, a desire to protect what was important, and to fight for those that she cared for.
So, she pulled her head back, with winds beginning to form around her mouth. Carla also noticed it, and saw that rather than the shy expression that she had usually, Wendy was beginning to show a little more confidence than she had beforehand.
"Wendy..."
Carla murmured, as the Mage approached the pair of them.
Aiming his gun, the man was going to fire, Genki looked on, ready to step in if Wendy needed it.
But, to his happiness, he heard Wendy yell out "Sky Dragons Roar!" and released a burst of wind like a tornado out of her mouth. The beautiful winds ripped through the area, and caught the man's bullets, along with his body, blasting him back to a very high degree, and even managing to slam against another enemy, sending them flying backwards.
Seeing Wendy do that, Carla looked astonished, while Genki looked proud of her.
"Good going Wendy-san."
Wendy showed a cute shy expression, while the others dealt with the enemies that were around.
After finishing off the enemies in about a minute, Genki and Cana gathered together.
"We still have the main enemy to deal with, lets go together."
Wendy and Carla nod, so Genki grabs all three of them including Cana, and shoots off towards the location that Angel was in.
Arriving at the area Angel was, the four of them consisting of Carla who hugged around Genki's neck, Wendy who rode on Genki's back, Cana who he carried bridal style, and Genki himself arrived to see that Virgo had contained a good portion of the area with her magic, and was successfully fending off some enemies.
"Look who's arrived."
Angel said with a smile on her face.
"Yes, your goons have been taken care of now, Angel-san."
Angel shows a slight smile, as she has Caelum pull forward.
Showing its deadly looking cannon mode, the energy that fired off before was beginning to radiate from the spirit once more.
"I see, but now that we're together. Lets have a fight, as fellow Celestial Spirit Mages, I am sure it is going to be to die for."
Saying that with a darkened smile, Angel prepares to fire with Caelum, as Genki notes several people beginning to form around them.
"Cana-san, lets finish this."
Cana smiles wickedly, and she produces some cards.
"Alright then, its time for my special card trick! Sexy Lady Cards!"
Genki glanced at her, and saw her throw cards with bikini clad woman on each.
Springing from that, like the cards image, women in bikinis came forward, and began saying "Ooh you're so cute!" and "How adorable!" while showing flirtatious sides, rushing the male enemies, who either were taken by surprise, or looked shy, as the women clung to their bodies, stopping them in place fully.
Wendy, Carla, and Angel all looked visibly stunned, while Genki chuckled awkwardly.
"S-She produced nearly naked girls!"
"She is really wild."
Wendy says shyly, and Carla says with narrowed eyebrows.
"My, a Devil with an Angel boy. But, it cannot happen Devil woman!"
Angel snapped at Cana who huffed, and produced some cards between her fingers.
"Now that your guys are distracted, its time for my trump cards!"
"Not more near naked women!"
Angel yells once more, as Cana announces "Suns Strength!" and she launches the cards forward, which in turn begin being set on fire, and slam into the enemies, were they promptly explode, and begin taking out the different people around them.
Angel shudders, turning towards Genki.
"Darling, keeping such company is unbecoming of an Angel."
"I am not an Angel."
"That can easily be arranged."
Wendy looked confused, and turned to Genki.
"Did she just threaten to kill you?"
"At this point, I truly don't know."
Wendy slowly nods, while Carla murmurs "This girl is truly hard to figure out." as Angel uses her spirit to take aim at Genki.
"Now Caelum, deliver that boy to me, and shoot him down!"
Caelum charged his power, then within a few moments, fired off a green beam of destructive energy.
Using his Moon Dragon Slayer magic, his hands began to glow with moonlight.
To Angel, it looked like a beautiful starry night that surrounded his hands, and to her astonishment, by thrusting his hand upwards, he deflected the beam that went high into the sky, parting a cloud as it did so, shocking Angel to the point that she took a few steps backwards.
"Want to rethink my offer towards you, Angel-san?"
Angel gritted her teeth, looking towards Genki with continuously narrowing brows.
"I have other spirits." Angel produced a silver key, and twirled it around. "Open, Gate of the Bear Cub, Polaris!" Genki saw what looked like a giant pink mechanical bear with a yellow scarf around its neck, which Angel then further used her power, with the key glowing. "Polaris, power up! Become as strong as possible!"
"Honey not oil makes the bear go rawrrr!"
Its stomach opened up, and it produced some honey, which it drunk, and a yellow aura surrounded it.
"Mighty bear, go Polaris."
Angel commanded, with the bear focusing its eyes on Genki, before dashing forward at a rather impressive speed. Though Genki still saw it, and watched as it raises its fist, swinging it down for the young man, who catches the fist in his own hand, generating a shockwave around them both, causing cracks to appear on the ground.
Reeling back its fist, it sent a few powered up punches, which Genki took head on with his hand blocking each of them as the ground began to break around him from the shockwaves alone of the colliding hands.
"Certainly, it is pretty physically strong."
Genki noted, as Angel thrust her hand to Caelum.
"Rapid fire Caelum."
Producing its cannon form, the green energy it had before, came shooting out towards Genki in green bursts of energy, so the young man while blocking the fist of the giant bear, coated his hand in moonlight, and smashed away the attacks, punching them so hard that they vanished out of existence, Angel looked on with some amusement.
"Nice Angel-san, I like how you're combining your spirits power."
"Then you will like this-"
Before she could finish, Polaris was sent flying away with a burst of moonlight escaping Genki's hand, and Genki had forced it back to the spirit world, with Angel gritting her teeth at the sight, and sent Caelum back to the spirit world before Genki's attack reached it.
"Your turn Angel."
Using his incredible speed, Genki flashes towards her.
At breakneck speeds that Angel was astonished by, she saw him appear before her in a beautiful light.
To her, it looked like the heavens light shined down upon Genki. She even noticed that the moon in the sky was beginning to shine down towards him, though this was simply an application of his magic.
The image of what looked like a halo appeared above his hair, in Angels mind.
A combination of these things began to make Angel bite her lower lip, and a slight redness to begin forming on her cheeks.
Genki then watched as she eyed the young man up, but rather than looking at his key as she had been before, it seemed to Genki for a few moments, as if she was looking at his body, crossing her arms underneath her bust.
"Well, it seems that I wont be retrieving your key now, Darling." Genki was surprised by the sudden shift to more of a sultry tone. "Alas, I have to leave now." Genki shared a look with Virgo and the others, as Angel waves her hand towards him with a slight smirk being sent towards him. "Till we meet again, Darling."
Genki didn't know what he had just witnessed, while Angel swung her arms out, and had a dramatic look on her face.
"Well, I can't really let you go. You know, because you did attack me and you tried to kidnap Carla-san, on several occasions."
Angel sweats, and flushes at the same time, shaking her body side to side.
She then raises her head, and lifts her hand to the sky, and when she did, Genki noticed people running down the streets, he counted over twenty people coming towards him, each wielding some kind of gun.
"Did you think I'd not have a back up plan Darling?"
Genki let out a breath, and saw the gun Mages shoot magical bullets towards him. Rather than dodge out of the way, Genki cupped his hands together, and began producing light off coloured flames.
"Moonlight Conflagration!"
From his hands, bright flames erupted and spread out like a vortex. The flames were strong enough to begin burning right through the magical bullets released towards him, and spreads further and further with each passing second.
"Ooh damn..."
Angel looks back as she begins running away, and notices the flames are able to burn away the bullets, and in turn ripped through the defences of the attacking Mages, managing to burn them down to the point that they wouldn't be able to fight.
"Yeah, now be done monkeys!"
Cana herself was also using her cards, adding them to the moonlight flames, and generating big explosions strong enough to defeat several enemies all at once. Carla and Wendy both were in awe at the teamwork they used together, being able to defeat many enemies, with only three of them.
His eyes turn to Angel, and see that she is still retreating, so he rushes towards her, and gets towards her right hand side, causing Angel to become completely shocked at such a thing.
"Open, Gate of the Chisel, Caelum!"
Angel wasn't finished, and yelled "Caelum, sword form!" after she summoned the spirit, with the spirit coming to her sword, shifting to a sword like weapon, which she took and swung for Genki, who in turn blocked with his right arm, a small shockwave going off between the two.
Angel pulled back, and then swung for him a few times.
Each time, Genki parried her attacks with his arms enhanced by moonlight, then Virgo came shooting out of the ground, and slammed her hand into Caelum, releasing it from Angels grasp.
"Caelum!"
Utilizing this chance, Genki took both of her hands, holding them so she couldn't fight again.
"Come along Angel-san, its time to stop."
Angel, staring into the eyes of Genki, watched him look back with a cute smile in her eyes. The smile caused her to have a faint blush on her cheeks, and in turn made Angel feel quite complicated as a result.
"Shit."
"Shit indeed."
Angel didn't expect it to happen, but now she suddenly had been caught by Genki.
Wendy looked around, and saw within a few moments...it had been over.
Genki, Cana, Wendy, Carla and Virgo, had achieved victory.
That night, celebrations rang out throughout the Cait Shelter guild. Genki himself saw Cana and Wendy having a good chat with one another, and to his surprise Carla was sat close by to him, and while she didn't speak, she seemed content with everything going on.
Genki also saw Roubaul, giving a bittersweet expression on his face.
Genki guessed that soon, he was going to be having the conversation with Wendy and Carla, and that this was him enjoying the last parts with them both.
"All's well that ends well, wouldn't you agree Carla-san?"
Carla looked up towards Genki, who in turn was smiling back down towards her.
She averted her eyes, so her expression was unreadable.
"I...I thought somethings about you and that girl, that seemed to be untrue. When I am in the wrong, I can recognize that. So, for my error, would you accept my-"
"You don't have to apologize to me or Cana-san. You were only looking out for your friend, and your guild. I am sure that now it has been cleared up, we'll become good friends, what do you think Carla-san?"
Carla gives the smallest of nods, and while she still kept up some kind of wall, Genki could tell that Carla was at least a little more cheerful than before.
A little while later, Genki stood up, and went towards those that he had captured, seeing what they were doing.
He walked by each of the cells that had been made for them, until people could come and pick them up. He was walking by Angels cell, when she called out to him.
"So, you really are the real deal, aren't you Darling?"
Genki paused, turning towards Angel who was showcasing a small slightly seductive smile.
"The real deal in what context?"
"I know the resources of this guild, they wouldn't have had many things to give you. But yet you still came to give support to these people."
"Yes, that's right. It isn't all about the rewards."
"Coming from someone that does this selflessly, I can certainly understand your words. Though, you and Virgo...she acted without your command, you never told her to come from underneath me, at least I didn't hear anything."
"Virgo-chan and I, understand one another. She is my partner in battle, and someone that I adore very much. I trust her with my life."
Angel blinked at his words, becoming rather surprised that he said something like that.
"Do you truly believe that spirits can be so close to humans that they can be called friends? Even cherishing them as more than that?"
"Yes, because its true. Virgo-chan and I have absolute trust in one another. Spirits aren't only objects, Angel-san. They are beings that have feelings, and thoughts like us. They can contribute in other ways than simply fighting. They can add to your powers its true, but they have so much more to give than simply a fighting force."
Angel was taken by his words, and she felt a warmth gathering inside of her chest.
Looking up towards Genki, a certain emotion kept rippling through her being.
It grew stronger, and stronger.
She didn't entirely know what this feeling was right at that time, but she listened to his words, and took them all in. Each and every word, she repeated to herself over, and over, while continuing to look at the young man with blonde hair, and in her eyes, had a beautiful kind of magic, that allowed him to shine.
"Tell me Angel-san, why did you really come here? Carla-sans power, wouldn't have been easy to find out about, they live out in the middle of nowhere. Be honest with me."
"The truth? Well, I was looking for Ophiuchus's key, I am sure you have heard of that key before."
"Ophiuchus huh? Its out here?"
Genki was surprised, Angel though shook her head.
"I got some information about it could be around here, obviously wrong as I couldn't find it, but picked up on that cats power though, as I thought maybe this guild might have known something, so spying equals knowledge in this case. They let it slip in a conversation, got intrigued, and it goes from there."
"I see...so that's how it went down. But Ophiuchus huh, that would have been an interesting key to find."
"Yes...it would have been a great find for me. Its hyped up to be the strongest of the strong, so having that is a no brainer. Well, looks like I couldn't find it. i am disappointed, but I got something out of this that, might be even more interesting~"
Angel laughed, seemingly mostly content for the time being, as Genki looked over the young woman, wondering a little more about her...
Two days later, some people from the council arrived, and began taking away the people that had attacked, including that of Angel. The young woman looked towards Genki as she was being brought towards a carriage were she was going to be detained.
"Though we shall be separated for the time being, I shall take the lessons that I have seen here from you, and will expand upon them. Do not worry, as fellow Angels, we shall soar into the sky together."
Cana raised a brow.
"What does she mean by that? It sounds like she wants you Genki-kun."
Genki looked towards Angel, and winked at him who in turn blinked in surprised.
"Eh...it seems that Angel-san has had...quite the change huh."
Cana nods with a curious stare, as Angel called Genki over.
Genki walked to her side, and looked towards her curiously.
"What is it?"
"When I am in prison, will you come and visit me? I thought it would be good to get to know you a bit more, and we could talk about a number of things."
Angel was expecting Genki to refuse, as she thought many would do.
So she was surprised when he nods his head.
"I will come to see you."
Angel gasped, and looked bewildered.
"Truly?"
"I will, I promise."
Angel placed a hand on her chest, then Genki pulled back, watching as many people were taken away, including that of Angel.
After they had departed, Genki saw Wendy approaching him, and gave a bow of her body.
"Thank you. F-For everything you have done for us."
"Hehe, you don't have to thank us for this Wendy-san."
"Even then...I feel guilty, because we don't have much to give..."
"We knew that coming here. You don't have to worry about any reward. Carla-san is safe, that's good enough for us. Trust me."
Genki responded kindly, Wendy showed a small cheerful smile.
"Yes...even then, there has to be...something that we can do to show you...how appreciative...we really are. Because of you...Carla is safe again...and I even am beginning to learn a little more...I don't know how we can repay your kindness."
Genki patted her gently on the head, as Carla came towards him.
"Well, it seems that everything is wrapped up. Are you heading back home now?"
Genki glanced at Roubaul, who gave sad, but happy at the same time, eyes.
"We have one more thing to do, before we leave." Cana looked towards Roubaul, then towards the nodding Genki, so she pulled back, as did Genki. "Wendy-san, Carla-san. I think you both should speak with Roubaul-san. He wants to say something to you."
Wendy and Carla looked confused, as Genki saw Cana pulling closer.
"He is going to say it, isn't he?"
"Yes, I think he is going to be going now. Or at least...is going to want them to go with us. He wants the best for them, and he thinks being around people like us...would be for the best. Instead of being with a spirit, I think that what he's done for them truly was a great kindness. Now he wishes for them to explore, and live life. I certainly can't deny that I would do something similar if I was in his shoes."
"Aah...this is going to become sad, isn't it?"
"Yeah, think so."
Replying softly, Genki and Cana watch as Wendy approaches the old man.
"Master, what did Genki-san mean then?"
"Wendy... Look at how you've become even less shy since they arrived. Its only been a short time...but, I can see that boy, has become rather a good influence on you. And the same for you Carla. Both of them in fact have shown great kindness by coming here for little to nothing on such a dangerous job."
"Yes...they really are kind Master."
Wendy said respectfully, Roubaul showed a soft smile on his face.
"That's why, I think you both should go with them."
Wendy and Carla gasped.
"M-Master? What do you mean?"
"Wendy...Carla. There is something that I have to tell you. There is a secret, that young man was able to discern about me."
"A secret...Master?"
Wendy looked confused, while Genki saw the people beginning to gather around. They all stood behind the Master. Though each had different expressions. Some looked happy, some looked sad, and some had neutral expressions on their faces.
"Yes...for you see Wendy, I am...not a guild Master. In fact, I am not even alive."
Wendy became shocked, with Carla equally looking stunned.
"Not...alive…?"
"No one, besides you, Carla, and those two people from Fairy Tail, are alive. I am a spirit. I must apologize to you, for all this time. Everyone in this guild, is but an illusion. Created by me. I lived alone, in this village. Wandering the earth. That's when you came to me, Wendy."
Wendy looked completely taken aback, as members of the guild began to disappear. One by one, the images of many people faded away. Cana closed her eyes, upon seeing the devastation appearing on Wendy's face.
Watching Wendy and Carla call out to the people that they thought they knew, now vanishing before their very eyes. To Genki, it was heartbreaking. Seeing them both cry, and shed tears over those that they had been with for a good long time.
"A boy came, and asked me to watch over you. Seeing his earnest eyes and you as a whole, I couldn't help but agree. You said, you wanted to join a guild...so, I created one for you."
"N-No! This can't be true! It can't!"
Wendy yelled out, Genki kept his eyes upon her, and saw Carla turning towards him.
Genki nods his head at Carla, who in turn falls to her knees, and looks down at the ground sadly.
"Wendy, Carla...when this boy and girl came, I was apprehensive at first. I didn't know what to think. But, I saw you smiling Wendy, and you Carla, having changed your strict opinion on these people, it brought me happiness, to see you both so happy. So, you have no need for illusions anymore. Your future is so bright...and its waiting for you, with these people and others."
Wendy, with tears streaming down her face, ran forward towards her Master, who in turn was beginning to vanish before her eyes.
She called out "Master!" several times, but the old man didn't stop vanishing, with beautiful white lights surrounding him.
"Oh God..."
Cana faced away, with her emotions beginning to bubble to the surface.
Genki placed a hand on her back, and gently rubbed it comfortingly.
"Though this is a goodbye, this isn't the end, Cana-san. One day, some day into the future, they will see one another again. Then she can tell him about all of the friends she's made, and the adventures she's been on."
Carla heard what Genki said, and walked towards him.
Genki bent down, and placed his hand on top of Carla's head, giving it a good pat.
"Carla-san, its okay."
Carla looked up to him with wet eyes, so he gently smiled towards her, then looked towards Wendy.
Wendy had her guild mark begin to vanish, as the guild Master himself expressed "Thank you, Fairy Tail. Please, take care of these two." with him vanishing completely.
"MASTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!"
Wendy yelled, and cried at the same time, collapsing to her knees.
Cana and Carla looked as Wendy sobbed, unable to do anything to console her.
Genki slowly approached her, his mind casting back to the days that he had lost people as well. Thinking about Ultear, Selene, and watching various people he had met go through many hardships as well.
Getting towards Wendy, he bent down, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Wendy turned her body, and met face to face with the young man.
"Though he is gone, he isn't forgotten. One day, you shall meet again. Until then, he would want you to live your life. We talked about this, before he vanished. He wanted you to have a future, with many friends, and to live life as you wanted. Though I am sure this is difficult to think about right now, he did everything, to give you happiness."
When hearing his gentle words, the young girl broke down into even more tears, and collapsed onto his chest.
Genki gently stroked the back of her head, comforting her the best that he could do.
Cana looked on, and couldn't help but show a small smile on her face.
"S Class...I understand Genki-kun. If we only cared about the reward, we might not have even met Wendy and Carla. But because you went against the idea of making money, and decided to simply help someone regardless of reward...we managed to help two people. Though they're sad now...I think that they will be happy with us. Hehe...yeah."
As Cana thought about it, Genki looked down at the sad Wendy, and showed a compassionate smile.
"Wendy-san, do you want to come with us, to Fairy Tail?"
Wendy looked into his bright eyes, and saw him still supporting her, and wanting to help her in anyway that he could do.
"Fairy Tail...?"
"Yeah. How about it? You can stay with us, if that is what you want."
Wendy dried her eyes, and nods strongly, while Cana giggles.
"Well, looks like we've got two new members~"
"Seems so."
Genki gently smiles, and watches Wendy, while still sad, begin to smile ever so slightly.
A while later, Genki, Cana, Wendy and Carla had gathered everything that they would need, and begun leaving the area that was the Cait Shelter guild, with Genki moving the magical bike with telekinesis behind them. Wendy walked beside Genki, while Carla hitched a ride on his shoulder, Cana walked on the other side.
"Genki-san..."
Wendy began, Genki turned down towards her.
"Yes?"
"Do you think...we will meet Master again? Truly?"
Genki went to answer, when he felt eyes upon him.
He paused, and looked back, to see the Master of Cait Shelter stood there.
He looked very ghostly, Genki locked eyes with him.
Though they didn't speak, they didn't need to.
He was seeing Wendy and Carla off.
Getting one last look at them before they vanished for good.
Understanding the emotions within Roubaul, and his desires for Wendy and Carla to have a good life, to be with people that are living, and to explore the world, he would fulfil that request from the old man, and in turn, Roubaul was grateful.
Roubaul then vanished once more, Genki wondering if he had moved on, or if he had simply disappeared from sight, so Genki turned back to Wendy, and gave her head a gentle pat.
"I am sure that you will."
Genki gave a small smile to Wendy, who in turn gave a small smile.
Cana then butted in with a grin.
"So, how did I do? Compliments are fine of course~"
"You did very well Cana-san. You thought, and considered many possibilities, you made traps for the enemy, designed ways to combat the enemy, you have a good mind set to become S Class in the future. I will be saying as much to Master when we get back."
"Aah yeah, thanks Genki-kun~"
Cana did a mini cheer, while Genki smiled towards her.
Carla tilted her head side to side in wonder.
But then she shakes her head, looking towards Genki from her position on his shoulder, and a small curling of her lips began to happen.
Returning to the town of Magnolia, they soon arrived at the guild, standing outside of it, Genki and the others heard the sounds of fighting going on. Raised voices that sounded like Natsu, and Gray going at it. The same could be said for some others as well. They also heard people such as Lisanna trying to calm the situation down, and Elfman yelling about his manliness among other things.
Finally, Genki could hear specifically, Erza and Mirajane going at it.
"Haha, looks like we've come at a good time."
Cana laughed out, with Genki snickering as well, pushing the doors open, and walked inside together with Carla, and Wendy, who hid slightly behind Genki, who in turn gave her an encouraging smile.
[Genki/kun/chan and Cana/san are back!]
They all yelled out.
Wendy was taken by surprise, while Cana laughed awkwardly.
Genki then saw Mirajane rush towards him, wearing a proud smile on her face.
"You are now looking at Mirajane, S Class Wizard."
"I knew you would Mira-san! Congrats!"
Mirajane rubbed the back of her head happily.
"Yeah, it was a tough thing to do, but I managed to pull it off."
"Hehe, I didn't have any doubts. Now you'll be able to go on S Class jobs without me."
"Maybe, but I'd still want to go with you as well..." Mirajane pauses, and she noticed the cat on Genki's shoulder. "Eh...the cat is new...interesting choice of little clothes on the cat..." She looked around Genki, as she saw blue out of the corner of her eye, so she looked and saw the shy Wendy peaking around his body and looking towards Mirajane with kind shy eyes. "...Genki...who is this girl?"
"Its tough to explain, but things happened, and now she's going to become a member of Fairy Tail."
Mirajane exhaled curiously, as Erza stepped forward, meeting eyes with Cana.
"I see. Cana, your predictions are coming true after all. This time, it is a girl with long blue hair. Interesting, very interesting. Mira, I understand that this is something that you wish to speak about eventually, so I shall save you the time, and explain that this is going to be a-"
"Please shut up with the romance crap! Ever since you have started with the harem stuff, its become even more wild! Now this sweet looking girl is...ooh you...really are difficult Erza...!"
"Because this is very important to me, and the others, I will try my best to ignore such comments. Cana predicted this, it is coming to pass."
"Honestly, you're always crazy thunder thighs!"
"You nutty prune!"
"You psycho cake lover!"
Wendy who was naturally shy, upon seeing the fighting pushed herself behind Genki, with some people calling "Cuuuuute~"out with soft voices.
"It seems they are rowdy."
Carla commented, causing most of the guild to jump, and Happy to become extremely excited.
"Aye, there's someone like me!" Happy rushed towards Carla, who gave scrutinizing eyes. "Hey, I'm Happy! What's your name?"
Carla looked at Happy, who was producing sparkles near his eyes, Carla on the other hand turned her head, and whispered "This is the other cat you mentioned?" with Genki nodding ever so slightly, so Carla looked back at the cat Happy, who couldn't take his eyes off of Carla.
When she didn't answer, it didn't seem to worry Happy, who was quite happy to carry on as normal.
Genki then saw Erza inspecting Wendy, and Carla, while they both gave the red head curious eyes.
"Hmm, so what happened Genki-kun?"
"Long story, I'll tell you later."
"Yes...and these girls, are single?"
Mirajane immediately rushed Erza while yelling "Seriously Erza!?", Erza got into a stance, and leapt at Mirajane, crashing into one another and yelled insults at the other.
However, suddenly, Natsu, Gray, Elfman, Lisanna, and a few others rushed him, and began yelling things such as "Lets go on an S Class!" and "Yeah, we can do it together, what do you say?" among other things.
Genki began laughing, while Wendy looks up towards him.
She couldn't help but feel safe, and happy, now that she was somewhere that seemed to be full of energy, and life. It was, truly something Wendy was happy to be apart of.
Six months later, Angel was still in prison, it seemed though she thought her guild might have rescued her...they hadn't.
However, someone had kept their promise, and that was Genki.
Visiting her three times a week, he brought some stuff in for her, pillows, and books, among other things like that.
"With good behaviour, you will be out in a month or so Angel-san."
Angel looked towards Genki, who in turn stared towards her.
"Yes...looks like I will be free soon. Time served."
"Exactly, Angel-san. Time served."
Angel looks towards him, noticing his gentle expression.
"You actually kept your promise. Honestly, I was surprised."
"I try my best not to break promises."
Angel showed a slight smile on her face.
"Yes, it seems that you do."
"After getting out of here, what are you going to do?"
Angel shrugged her shoulders.
"Places to see, people to look up. Its been over six months after all."
"Yeah, now you have the opportunity to change your ways. Fresh start."
Angel let out a small laugh.
"You really think that I can do?"
"Yes, I believe in you."
Angel felt her heart skip a beat when he said that, her face tinging red.
"Well, you are the first person to ever say that."
"You know Angel-san, you could always come with me, to Fairy Tail, after getting out of here."
Angel looked a mix of surprise and curious, then she became surprisingly nervous to which Genki thought in turn was a surprise.
"Fairy...Tail. Huh. Well...Well, I don't know Darling, there are a lot of things that I have to think about, and do first before I do anything so crazy. I have...a lot to think about, and I have...I have to begin thinking about...certain things, about myself...and about those around me...it really is a troubling time..."
"I see. But whatever it is that you do Angel-san, let me say that you have options, you don't have to continue on the path you were on, you have a true chance of doing great things. You're smart Angel-san, don't let it go to waste."
Angel gave a slight smile on her face, hearing the compassion in his voice.
"Darling..." Angel pulled closer to her prison bars, her eyes meeting with his own. "If you keep believing in me, then I might have to take that offer someday."
"Its open to you, anytime."
Angel giggled, and pulled away, her eyes casting themselves towards the moon that was shining down upon them from the window in her cell.
"When its night, you really can see the sky, and the stars, the bright moon looks so inviting." Angel began leaning back, and her eyes continued staring at the sky. "I am sure those spirits I had have found good places by now." Angel glances back towards Genki, and shows a slight smile. "Darling, can I ask you something?"
"What?"
Angel exhales slowly.
"To be free, what is that like?"
"Its one of the best feelings, being able to break from those that tie you down."
"Yes...I thought so. Maybe I could be free one day."
"Yes, you can be, Angel-san."
Angel lightly flushed, turning her head to the side, and while not offering any real response, Genki saw her smile ever so slightly.
They continued on for about an hour, before Genki had to leave due to that being the rules.
Once he had gone, Angel leaned back on her bed, and continued staring at the moon, as she thought "The moon...its really pretty, right...Yukino...?" while allowing herself to drift into many different thoughts.
With a new fresh perspective within her, Angel began thinking about what was said to her, and the conversations she had with Genki over the six months.
A day later, while she was reading one of the books Genki had got her, she suddenly heard a loud crashing sound coming from the doors.
She looked, and saw a young man shooting around the area, taking out some guards.
"Racer...no, not now..."
The young man made it to her cell, and broke it open, and began bringing her out.
"Come on, lets go-"
"What are you doing?" Angel snapped. "I have a month left. Why come now?"
"You want to stay here, why?"
Angel narrowed her brows, not wanting to reveal anything.
"That is my choice, and I have no obligation to tell you anything."
"Well, Brain told me to get you, no matter what."
"...Why now Racer? Its been so long...it makes no sense to me."
Racer shrugged his shoulders, and called out "Hoteye and the others are taking outside, we can get out of here." and then took her out of the prison, despite her protest.
Getting a good way from the prison, Racer said "I have this from Brain." with Angel seeing a Lacrima revealing an image of a man who she recognized as Brain.
With a disturbing smirk on his face, Angel watched the man carefully on the image.
"You disappoint me, Angel. Being captured for so long."
"Six months, and you didn't try and come for me, until now. What changed?"
Bitterly saying it, Angel stared deadly at Brain.
Brain paused, seeing her emotions bubbling to the surface, in turn he began narrowing his brows.
"If you hadn't of been caught, then I wouldn't need to have come for you. It would have been difficult to get to you from the beginning, we didn't have the resources, but you are important to me, so we came for you." Brain said, Angel who in turn gave uncomfortable eyes, she didn't believe him, and felt as if there was more to him springing her now than before. "However...it seems it worked out."
"I would have been free anyway in a month, and now...now you are...you have took that..."
Angels hand shook, as she stared at the older man, who in turn developed a neutral look.
"You are free now, and back with us. While waiting for us, you have seemingly hit it off with Genki, didn't you?"
Speaking as if he had familiarity with him, Angel became suspicious.
"...What do you know of him?"
"I know many things about that child."
Angel nods in understanding.
"I see now, you want me to give you information on him, right? Could he be the person you worry about?"
Brain paused when Angel said that, with the older man losing focus for a few moments, something Angel took note of.
"That young man is my business, but you are valuable to me, with the right tools." Racer, on Brains prompting, produced a golden key, and presented it to Angel. "I am giving you this, as a symbol of my gratitude."
"What gratitude?"
Angel was confused, so Brain expressed his thoughts.
"The future gratitude that I will have, as I am sure you will accomplish good things with that key." Brain leans closer on the image, as Angel stares up at him with slight narrowed brows. "Now, while you have been gone, I have been doing research for you, and there is another golden key you can have."
Brain revealed an image of a green haired girl, with a golden key on the same Lacrima, splitting the images between them.
"Who is this?"
Angel wondered, so Brain informed her.
"Karen Lilica, Blue Pegasus. It should be easy enough to take it from her, you hold greater power than she does."
Angel examines the situation with her eyes scanning the image before her, seeing the key, and made quite the discovery.
"Karen...Aries, isn't it?"
Angel whispered, and looked over the image of the green haired girl.
However, while looking over this image, a flash of Genki came to her thoughts, with the words "I believe in you." coming to her mind, and she paused, looking towards Karen's image once more, her mind beginning to race...

So this chapter wrapped up the little Cait Shelter arc, with Genki and Cana coming together, and using their various tricks to lure out Angel, and also helped Wendy become a little braver than before. Confronting Angel, she was in for a surprise when seeing Genki's magic, and soundly got defeated, though did her best with her silver keys.
Then the celebration happened within the Cait Shelter guild, and then the moment Wendy and Carla found out about the guild as a whole, and then Genki offered them to come with him, which they accepted, having built a bond with him. Mirajane also passed her exam, and is now S Class, something she was extremely happy about, though clashed with Erza, who is happy to see new people come to the guild.
Angel was brought to prison, where Genki visited her often. Then at the very end, it seemed that Brain broke Angel out who wasn't too pleased, and gave her a gold key, which gold key we will find out about in the near future, and then pointed her in the direction of Karen, and Aries. So now the question is, will Angel take Karen out, or will something else happen? The answers shall soon be revealed. And how she interacted with Brain, seems Angel has certain feelings regarding what happened, or rather what didn't happen with him not coming for her, while Genki kept his promise, and supported her throughout her time.
