This chapter is based off the Batman vs. TMNT movie. If you haven't watched it I HIGHLY recommend it. It's fun and action packed! Don't forget the pizza though!
"I'm telling you guys The Foot are gone. We haven't seen a single sign of them ever since the TCRI incident." Kara peered through her binoculars at the Lair of Shredder having been on stake-out for two weeks seeing no sign of life. Lowering the binoculars revealing her left purple and right blue eye, two large scars running from her left eyebrow to the bottom of her chin.
"It's not like them to just up and vanish though." Leo said now next to her, she glancing to her side at him with a look that said she's use to their appearing act, tapping her bluetooth mic off and ending the call. Brushing her long, ruffled, black bangs back over her left eye while lowering her arm, her hair pulled up with a clip that had her ends sticking out from the top and flaring out like fireworks.
"Especially when moving the amount of people and equipment they have." Donnie added in.
"You weren't slacking on the job, now were ya?" Raph smirked at her with crossed arms.
"Ha! Don't compare me to you." She chuckled giving him a gentle slap on his plastron. "By the way, where's Mikey?"
"You guys are not gonna believe what I discovered!" Mikey shouted wearing a Foot mask causing Kara to yell out in surprise, Donnie catching her before she could fall over, "Shredder's Lair is completely empty! They practically left everything behind!"
"And how exactly do you know this?" Donnie asked.
"And where did you get that?" Raph questioned, snatching the mask off his head.
"Hearing Kara saying there was no sign I just waltzed in."
They all looked at each other for a sec before entering Shredder's lair going to his lab to see if they can discover where they had gone.
"They really did pack up and leave but how?" Kara lifted a file, flipping it open and looking through it seeing things were crossed or blacked out. She sighed in annoyance and went to close it til she spotted a word that wasn't crossed out all the way, "Goham? What's goham?" She looked to Donnie wondering if he would know.
"I've never heard that word before." He took the file from her to see if he could find any other clues, "Ah-ha, its Gotham."
"Gotham? Is that some kind of metal band?" Raph asked tossing an empty beaker behind him.
"It's a city, to be exact." Donnie stated using his T-Phone to search the web.
"Then that's where he must be. We should head there to see what he's up to." Leo said.
"If he's in another location then he must be working with someone new." Kara commented idly touching the scar on her face this making Donnie place his hand on her shoulder in a comforting way, both smiling to each other.
"We'll know more once we're there. Move out."
Arriving by nightfall in Gotham they weren't given time to sight see.
"Up ahead. I see movement." Kara pointed forward her eyes now completely white.
They all looked where she was pointing to see shadowed figures heading towards Powers Lab. Gathering on the roof of the building Kara stood in the center, "There's four to five persons beneath us and a small group of custodians, one to two on each floor. Hold up. They're making their move."
"Stay back for this one; it shouldn't take long." Leo said to her this making Kara cross her arms and puff her cheeks in annoyance. "Next fight, I promise." He gave her a half smile while placing her hand on her shoulder and left with his brothers following behind him; Raph snickering at her, Mikey sticking his tongue out while winking, and Donnie planting a kiss on her cheek. This made her let out a puff of air, blowing her bangs out of her face for a moment, calmed down thanks to his kiss.
"So? Successful?" She asked when they returned only to be lifted up by Raph and carried over his shoulder as they ran through the roofs, dropping down into the sewers through a manhole cover, "So, I guess not." She muttered, pinching her nose at the smell.
"Sorry, we took out the Foot, but they managed to escape with whatever they were after. We had to make a quick getaway before we were seen." Donnie explained while Leo lifted the cover, all of them poking their heads out in time for the news to air on the televisions across the street.
"Powers Industrial is the recent victim in a string of break-ins involving research and development laboratories. By all accounts, the police department has no leads on who's behind these attacks or where they'll strike next."
"Huh. Talk about perfect timing." Kara muttered.
"But we do, don't we, Donnie?" Mikey asked.
"That's right. Wayne Enterprises." Donnie pulled out the map they stole from Shredder's Lair after taping it back together.
"Come on, we don't wanna be seen." Leo said just before he and his brothers lowered down the hole, Kara giving one last look around at the empty street, "By who?" She let out a yell when Raph pulled her down with them with a sigh.
In a dimly lit part of the sewers they all got ready for the next mission; Leo sheathing his swords at his side, Donnie placing his staff in its holster, Raph placing his sais behind his back in their makeshift strap, Mikey placing his nunchuks in their respectable place as well as a slice of pizza.
Lastly was Kara wearing a skintight black tank top with neon splattered paint design on the left side, long sleeved crop jacket with the collar popped up, camo, baggy cargo pants that were tied up around the knees, a belt around her waist that had a medium sized pouch at her hip, and sneakers with ankle length socks. She tightened the gloves on her hands to make sure they were secure and smirked to her friends once they were ready and raced out the sewers towards the next location in a flash.
Wayne Enterprises seemed to tower over the city for they were able to see it clear as day from where they were, running through the rooftops of Gotham to the building. Landing on the building right across from it they began to move to the other side til, "Guys, wait.." She closed her eyes for a moment, "I hear someone."
They nodded to each other, sticking to the shadows as they snuck closer to see who it was.
"-This is our big score, gentlemen. There's a new player in Gotham and our mystery guest is stealing all the experimental tech this city has to offer. Genius that I am, I figure we hit the Wayne Lab first and sell the tech to our new friend, whoever they are." The short, chubby, well-dressed man stated to his six henchmen wearing t-shirts with tuxedo designs on them while carrying brightly colored umbrellas.
"These guys obviously aren't good news." Donnie whispered.
"Agreed. Stealth for this one, guys." Leo said.
"Gotta admit though, they do look snazzy." Kara grinned while she and Mikey moved first, he taking out the one directly behind the supposed boss of the group and she the female.
"Huh?" The boss exclaimed when he saw two of his henchmen gone and turned around to see something blue caught in the wind, "It's him! He's here! Where is he? Where is he? Show yourself!" The boss shouted in near panic while his henchmen pointed their umbrellas while searching the area til the bosses' eyes landed on a darkened figure with red and pointed, "It's the bat. Fire! Fire!"
When two of his henchmen stood in front of him, firing at the figure, it pushed itself off the building, landing behind the boss, Raph slowly towering over him, "Do I look like a frigging bat to you?"
This got a laugh out of Kara.
The boss let out a noise, taking a step back, and turning around when one by one the guys and Kara revealed themselves from the shadows.
"W-What are they?" One henchman shouted, Mikey popping up in front of him with his arms up and waving his fingers around, "We're aliens, brah. Freaky aliens~" Mikey began pulling at his mouth, making goofy faces at him causing the henchman to freak out and yell while running away.
"Not me, though, just a human." She grabbed the fleeing henchman, putting her arm around his shoulder while giving him a wink and fingergun.
"I don't care what they are. Kill 'em!"
Kara punched the guy she was holding square in the nose before all of them scattered when they began firing their weapons, she moving behind cover when a red headed henchman aimed at her Donnie swooping in to intervene, slamming his staff against his hand first, forcing him to drop the gun, then hit his stomach, legs, and ankles, catching him before he could fall, having him leaning against the staff, "We're not aliens though. We're turtles." Donnie corrected while Leo jumped in the air, kicking the guy in the face and knocking him out, "Not the time, Donnie." Leo said to him before running off.
"It's always the time for accuracy, Leo." Donnie said with a matter-of-fact smile
"Yeah, or else they'll start calling you frogs or calling Raph's weapons salad tongs.." This thought had Kara laughing while running towards her opponent, snickering when she heard Raph in the background. Her eyes on target she slid in front of him while reaching for his weapon and shoved it upwards only to blink at the look of it, "Is that a gun shaped like an umbrella? That is so cool!" Stars sparkled in her eyes at the man causing him to let his guard down in confusion to her reaction. Grinning at the opening she slammed the palm of her hand upwards into his chin and sent a combo of punches to certain points at his chest, knocking the wind out of him but before she could send the final blow in came Leo, sending another spin kick to her guy's head, sending him flying and knocking him out. She stood up straight, crossing her arms, and giving Leo a look, "Really?"
"Heh, sorry, just antsy after not fighting for so long." He rubbed the back of his head in an apologetic manner making her roll her eyes before turning her attention to Raph's fight, who was fighting the biggest dude of the group. She did a double take, feeling a sense of deja-vu at how familiar the big guy looked only to shake the thought away when Raph finished the fight by slamming his knee into his face, breaking his glasses, nose, and a few teeth.
"Dude, you're out of dudes." Mikey said as he, his brothers, and Kara gathered around the boss, weapons ready.
"Do I have to kill everything myself?"
"You could just give up and save us the trouble. Wouldn't want to ruin your very snazzy look." Kara smiled hoping he would take her way only for her smile to drop when he aimed his umbrella at her, the end changing to a gun and began to fire at them, Donnie and Raph pulling Kara away, who let out a noise, all of them running behind cover. "Could of just said no!" She shouted as she was thrown over cover, rolling a few inches from them.
"He's got a gun umbrella? A gun-brella? How cool is that!?" Mikey stood to his feet, his smile as big as his eye in amazement till Leo pulled his little brother down before he could get shot at, the ends of his mask getting hit in the process. "Mikey, let's disarm and then compliment him." Leo said, Raph flicking Mikey's head with a grin.
"I'm sure you got this covered, Mr. Antsy Leader." Kara scooted to Leo's side while on her back giving him the same look from before. He squinted his eyes at her with a frown before turning his attention to the man shooting at them while bringing out a Ninja Star, jumping out of cover and throwing it at the man, it stabbing into the gun end of his umbrella and when the man pulled the trigger it exploded, knocking him backwards with a startled noise.
When Leo was in front of the man, he aimed his weapon at him only to realize he was out of bullets when the trigger made a clipping nose, the end falling apart completely, Leo pulling a sword out and pointing it at him, "You lose. Where's Shredder?"
"Shredder? What's a Shredder? You face The Penguin." He smirked, his umbrella end changing to a sword, both of them now sword fighting.
"It's a sword-brella too?" Mikey grabbed his head, his mind blown, "I think I love this little guy."
"Well dressed, matching villain name, AND full of surprises? Why can't our enemies try as hard as this guy?" Kara popped up beside Mikey, joining in on the fangirling.
"What is with you and his outfit?" Raph asked in annoyance.
"Hey, the clothes define the attitude of a man. Take you for instance; you wear none therefore your attitude stinks." Kara crossed her arms while looking away with a harumph though had a triumphant smirk on her face.
Raph deadpanned while in one swift motion unclipped her hair, it falling to the middle of her back and flipped it over, it smacking her in the face. He began to laugh as she stood there, tongue sticking out from her hair, blowing raspberries.
When Leo had won the fight the others gathered behind him, Kara fixing her hair while glaring at Raph. The Penguin realizing he was outnumbered, "Well, as I have no wish to be skewered by an ugly, green, monstrosity, you leave me no choice." He held out his arms before jumping off the edge but before they could move The Penguin began to fly away, his umbrella now a propeller, "So long, cretins." He shouted while laughing.
"Gotham is bonkers, yo!" Mikey shouted before falling on to his back.
"Now, I'm thinking of changing my look," Kara brought her hand to her chin, staring where The Penguin last was, "Don, could you make me a gun-sword-propeller-brella? Please?"
"It is possible, but I don't think it will fit with your fighting style. Plus, too much exposure to loud noise will burden your ears." He reached up gently brushing part of her bangs behind her ear making her blush and look away with a goofy smile, "Heh, if you say so.."
"Ugh. Get a room, you two." Raph groaned while rolling his eyes, making Kara glare at him while slowly bringing her fist up, "Sounds like you need some meditation, Raphie.." She muttered but stopped when Donnie placed his hand over her fist, "Remember, your skills are mainly for healing. Don't let him get to you." He leaned down, kissing her eye, before moving to help Leo and Raph tie the bad guys up. Kara watched him with a small smile on her face before letting out a sigh that released the tension in her body, "You always know what to say." She whispered.
"That was the coolest thing I've seen in years. I feel like you guys are not making the most of this road trip. Like, if we had to chase Shredder from New York all the way to Gotham City, we should at least enjoy it, right?"
"Maybe afterwards we can go full tourist mode but for now Shredder has to be our top priority. It worries me why he would travel this far in the first place." Kara stood at the edge looking over the city, "And I thought New York was gloomy." She muttered with a pout.
"I don't know, Gotham and New York are pretty much the same." Donnie commented.
"Donnie, are you kidding? Does New York have mad blimps flying around for no reason? I mean, like, what are they for? I love them."
"Mikey does have a point there, Don, plus Gotham seems more...Goth..." Her eyes shrunk in realization, "It all makes sense now.." She whispered in awe.
"This was a total waste of time." Raph stood to his feet, turning his back to the group.
Leo had a look that said he wasn't having it today, "Come on, you heard the weirdo,"
"The Penguin." Kara corrected.
"They were gonna rob Wayne Enterprises."
"Penguin clearly isn't the Foot's new partner which means Shredder probably already hit Wayne R&D and got the gizmo just like the generator he stole at Powers Lab, Leo."
"Probably wouldn't have if you let me join you." Kara muttered under her breath but blinked when both Raph and Leo were staring at her. She sighed and turned around to give them some space, "Yeah, Yeah, I know."
Leo looked back at Raph, "Let's just get these guys to the street so the police can find them."
Raph smirked at Leo and lifted his leg up, kicking the tied-up bundle of bad guys off the roof they landing on an awning and bouncing off it and into a dumpster, Kara laughing all the way down as they dropped around the dumpster.
"Are you crazy? You could've killed them." Leo shouted, closing the lid on them.
"They're fine." Was all Raph said.
"Did you know there was a dumpster there?"
"I might have. Yeah."
"-If it helps, the dumpster being there or not being there really gives no guarantee they'd survive-"
"Doesn't help." Both brothers said making Donnie lower his head into his shell some.
Suddenly, they heard Mikey squeal and rushed over to see what he was reacting to; one by one each of their faces changing to awe and shock.
"What is it? It had better be...good." Leo's eyes widened when they came across a slick looking vehicle.
"It's beautiful." Donnie said softly while Raph let out a whistle, "What'd you think something like that costs?"
"My soul probably, since I'd pay that." Mikey held his face in pure awe.
"This is incredible. Man, I bet Dragan would love to get her hands on this bad boy." Kara walked up to it while bringing out her phone to take a picture but stopped mid step her ears catching the sound of something flying in the air and turned her head as two bat shaped objects flew past her, stabbing into the telephone pole behind the guys. They all looked up in time to see a shadowed figure falling towards them, their cape spread out to look like bat wings, and land between them and the vehicle, it's headlights on, covering the man in darkness.
Everyone seemed to be wary of the man before them except Mikey who had a goofy smile on his face, "Um. Wild guess here. This might be his car."
"The colors match." Kara muttered, slowly putting her phone away.
"The Penguin mentioned a bat. Think this is the guy working with Shredder?"
"Could be. Wait for my signal to-"
"Nah, I got this." Raph ignored Leo and charged ahead, everyone sharing the same expression on their face, Kara smacking her forehead.
Raph was attacking but none of them made contact, the bat guy dodging as if able to read his movements, this irritating him, "Hold still." He threw his arm out for a punch but the guy ducked down and kicked his leg out, sweeping it under Raph's feet, forcing him on to his shell. The guy then jumped over him and kicked him towards the others like a bowling ball, smacking into Mikey, this getting a laugh from Kara, "Haha! Strike!"
"Take him down, we need answers." Leo ordered, he and Donnie readying their weapons.
"You're welcome to try."
"Well, at least he's polite about it." Kara said with a smile while pulling on her gloves her eyes changing to completely white.
Leo and Donnie charged forward, the man going for a kick but Leo ducked out of the way, Donnie coming behind him, swinging his staff and jabbed it outwards but was unable to hit the man. He grabbed the staff where Donnie had a hold of it and slammed his elbow upwards into his chin, he grabbing it while the man pulled out a device and planted it on his plastron, it exploding and sending him into the wall. Kara flinched slightly at the millisecond explosion but kept her composure, waiting for the right moment.
Leo pulled out his sword and swung at the man but he either blocked with his gauntlets or stepping out of the way, sliding behind him and sending a punch to his side then shell, but Leo quickly recovered jabbing his sword outward. Their fight lasted a little longer til the man placed a device on Leo's shell, a small grappling hook shooting out of it, flying away and at Donnie, slamming into him.
"Nunchuk to the face!" Mikey shouted, swinging his weapons but the man was able to deflect them, "I said to the face!" He continued swinging his body along with his weapon. When he stood to his feet, the man dropped down, slamming his fist on to his foot, "Ow! My toes!" Mikey screamed only for the man to grab his lower jaw and throw him into a building.
Kara stepped forward after the man threw Mikey who knows where, "I gotta admit, Gotham sure knows how to dress their villains up, huh? You gotta tell me who designs your costumes and see if they came make something for me, though the cape might be a little extra." When he didn't react she frowned slightly this telling her he was on another level and ran forward reaching her arm out for a punch to his chest only for him to block her attack but she would grab his arm and plant two fingers against his arm though her fingertips couldn't penetrate his gauntlets. His eyes squinted for a moment while he reached his other arm to his belt but seeing the movement she quickly pushed herself forward, shoving her shoulder into his arm to try and discombobulate him and planted her hand on to his chest but froze when she felt his heartbeat was off. Recognizing this, she gasped, "Wait," and looked up at him her eyes returning to their colors, "You're hurt.." She said softly, her eyes lifting in worry, a gentle breeze passing them that blew aside her bangs revealing the scar on her face.
Being distracted, she didn't see him grab what he was after in the first place til she let out a yell when she was met with a powder that not only blinded her but having breathed it in she began to cough and choke, stumbling backwards before she was kicked away, Raph catching her, "Kara! You alright?" She turned away trying to gather as much saliva as she could in her mouth to try and clean out the powder, tears streaming down her face while Raph rubbed at her back, glaring at the man before grabbing a trashcan and charging and throwing it. "No one hurts my friends." Raph said through gritted teeth while bringing out his weapons and charging but it was the same end as it was before, being brought to his knees by a hit to his gut. "It's gonna take more than a jerk in a Halloween costume to shock me!" Raph took a moment to get it together after that last attack and charged forward again.
"Ok. Taser level seven." The man said before a set of tasers flew out from the car, he side-stepping out of the way, Raph taking the attack and immediately dropped.
"Think fast." Mikey jumped on to the wall, pushing himself off it for an above attack only for the man to catch and throw him to the ground, "He thought too fast."
Donnie went in again only to be smacked away hard, dropping next to his brothers.
"Whoever you are, you better back the hell away from my brothers and friend." Leo shouted, pointing his sword at the man then running at him. The man used the same attack on Leo as he did Kara, slamming the end of the sai between Leo's eyes and used the ends of his mask to throw him at the pile of his brothers.
Hearing footsteps the man turned his attention to the girl walking between him and the turtles. Despite how heavy her breathing, watery her eyes were, or even the trail of vomit on the side of her mouth she stood protectively in front of the turtles ready to continue the fight.
Donnie slowly lifted himself up, seeing Kara in front of them, "That's it. I'm calling this. Its ninja vanish time!" He brought Kara close to him and threw down a smoke bomb.
Batman used his cape to shield himself and when the smoke cleared the turtles and girls were gone, staring down at the weapon in his hand, "Ninja..turtles?" He glanced over where the girl came from and saw she had thrown up and narrowed his eyes in thought before leaving.
Having found an internet cafe close by first they treated Kara's eyes using the cafe's emergency kit to wash her eyes out then placed a wet towelette over them to soothe the burning while Donnie, Leo, and Raph conducted some research on the guy they just faced.
"They call him The Batman." Donnie began.
"Oh. Batman. Yeah, no, I'm glad that a half an hour of research pulled up the name I could've guessed in two seconds."
"Not like he was giving us time to think of it, anyways, if it wasn't for a certain turtle." Kara muttered, tilting her leaned back head slightly to the side towards them, hearing Raph growl under his breath, but she ignored him going back to her recovery.
"I've heard rumors about a supernatural bat creature in Gotham, but I assumed it was an urban legend or that he was a mutant like us." Donnie finished speaking, typing into the computer.
"That guy was definitely human, and I think his supernatural powers were just his gadgets."
Kara opened her mouth to add to that but was interrupted by Mikey, "Uh..we already know what he is. He's awesome! Unless he's a bad guy. That'd make him like..forty percent less awesome." This calculation seemed to bum Mikey out til he went back to his drawing board.
"No one knows his motives but it does appear that he only attacks criminals; especially this clown guy."
"So, he wears a Dracula costume and punches clowns, who cares? The dirtbag stole my sai!"
"Are you forgetting the part where he took us all down? Clearly, there's more to him than that." Kara flipped the towelette over and sighed feeling the cold water on her skin, smiling to herself.
"Dracula costume? What kind of Dracula movie are you watching?" Donnie questioned quietly, making Kara frown slightly, "Don't tell him. He doesn't need to know. Stay my innocent nerd forever."
"Look, all I'm saying is ever since Shredder stole the Ooze from TCRI and came to Gotham, we know he's been working with a new partner, right? It's gotta be this bat creep."
"I'm not so sure. The way he fought, avoiding lethal blows, he wanted to figure us out. Like a detective." Leo walked away from his brothers and leaned against the wall in thought til the sound of Kara clearing her throat caused him to look at her where she lifted the towel to give him a look, "Want me to add insult to injury? He had been hit by the Sato Oshi Strike." She said before lowering the towelette, this causing gasps all around.
"What?! How do you know this?" Raph raised his voice in disbelief as well as anger.
She lifted the item again giving him an unamused look, "Remember whose been teaching me the art of healing? He showed me how to pinpoint the symptoms and to relieve the pain it causes. Duh." She went to lower it one more time til Mikey began to talk, all of them turning their attention to him.
"Ok, bros and brah, I broke it down." He stepped aside to reveal his drawing depicting Batman all muscular with large, clawed hands, and what she had to interpret, roller blades on his boots? "Awesome: Little bat throwing things, cool car, sweet bat hat. Not awesome: kicked our butts, maybe evil, mean voice." He smiled wide at his deduction, everyone just staring at him for the moment before going back to what they were doing.
"Either way, after Wayne Enterprises we have no idea where the Foot will be next. The Batman is our only lead." Leo calmly said.
"Agreed, whether friend or foe, he was at the scene of the crime." Donnie added while holding his chin in thought til a smile came to his face, "And if you give me a minute, I think I've got an idea." He began typing unaware of Kara smiling in the background, "He's doing his "I've got an idea" smile I can feel it. Ah, I love this turtle."
Having to tread through water Kara changed into her swim gear, bringing along a waterproof backpack and a custom-made air mask. Holding on to Mikey as they swam the dark waters it was only a matter of time before they reached the surface of a cave, Kara lowering the mask around her neck, following behind her friends while getting a look around.
"Look, I love being an amphibian as much as the next guy-"
"-Amphibious, we're still reptiles." Donnie corrected.
"Yeah, thanks for that, but you sure this cave leads anywhere?"
"I would tell you but it's difficult for me to see anything in water, nothing but a black hole.." Kara immediately opened her eyes after closing them to try and help but seeing what she described caused her to shudder, Mikey gently patting her back for comfort, making her smile.
"Thank you for trying, Kara. I'm glad you asked, Raph, for I am sure, actually." Donnie smiled her way before giving Raph a 'simpleton' look. "I made a database of every reported Batman sighting and ran it through an algorithm that triangulated against the city's police regards and natural cave formations." Donnie stared at the screen of his T-Phone til Leo placed a hand on his shoulder to make him stop, "Donnie, nobody cares."
"Speak for yourself." She trudged past Leo, giving him a playful nudge to his side, "But what I think he's trying to say is that he pinpointed sightings of Batman and connected them to a center point, which I have to assume is where we are?" She tilted her head to look at him for confirmation.
"Correctamundo, my lady." Donnie smiled kissing the top of her head, making her squeal in happiness, her smile as wide as her glee.
"Aww, how adorable." Mikey commented in the background.
"Ok, and where is that exactly?" Leo asked.
"The answer should be right through~" Donnie stepped out of the mouth of the cave where they were greeted by a tall landing pad though the thing that stuck out most for Kara was the towering T-Rex, "What the..." She mouthed while Raph and Leo helped her on to solid ground.
"Ta-dah! The Bat...man..cave. Huh?" Donnie held his arms out for the reveal, smiling to them.
"This is pretty cool." Leo said in slight awe.
"Pretty cool? This is amazing! I don't know what to put my grubby paws on first." Mikey began walking around, wiggling his fingers in excitement as his eyes took in everything.
"Well, stay away from the penny while I get changed." Kara said gesturing to each of them that she has her eyes on them, Leo and Raph rolling their eyes while Donnie looks away bashfully, poking his fingers together, and Mikey completely ignoring her. Nodding her head, she moved behind the massive penny and began to dry herself off first then changed back to her clothes. Walking out readjusting her hair she saw each of them doing their own thing, "So, is anyone going to ask when the security alarms are going to cut on? No? Just me?" She asked looking at them.
"She's right. We shouldn't stay too long. Just find out what we need and go." Leo says while turning to Donnie.
"Already on it. Most of these files are encrypted too heavily, but it looks to me that Batman has been tracking the laboratory break-ins. Like he's been looking for the Foots next move. Same as us."
"Sooo, he's a good guy?" She asked with a raised brow before lowering her eyes in thought going back to when she felt his heartbeat during their scuffle, "If he was hit by that then it was obvious the Shredder considered him a foe, a strong one at that." Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard Mikey's voice from above, "Hey, guys, check it out. I'm Batman and I'm riding the T-Rex!" She blinked, he doing exactly that, flapping the cape excitedly, "I've never been so happy in my entire life!"
"Weren't you over there? How'd he grab that?" Kara turned to Raph who only shrugged his shoulders, "What am I? His babysitter?" This made Kara groan, smacking her forehead in annoyance only to immediately jerk her head in Mikey's direction, "Mikey, get down, now!"
This outburst caused everyone to look at her, Mikey clearly ignoring her, "Nah, brah, I live up here now."
"You should listen to her." A voice warned from behind him.
Mikey blinked and turned around to see a little kid wearing a costume similar to Batman's but red top with yellow buckles, black body suit, and a green cape with yellow trimming and the inside of the cape yellow too and matching green gloves and boots.
"Aww!" Mikey smiled at how cute he was only to get a kick in the face, being knocked down from the T-Rex, both of them having a tussle, the kid trying to take the mask off Mikey. "Help! A tiny dude's like totally trying to kill me." Mikey shouted, keeping the kid away from his face. The guys gather to help their brother but Kara had a look of horror on her face, frozen in place to the point that she didn't react to the kid hurting Leo or Mikey til she walked up to him in a zombie like trance while he was poking Raph and Donnie with Donnie's staff and held two fingers out gently tapping his side, her sharp fingernails feeling like needles that sent a jolt of pain to his body and she shoved him down just before Mikey sat on top of him, hiding inside his shell.
Before he could shout in protest she stabbed the staff into the ground next to his face, her own completely shadowed by the overhead light except for her eyes which bore into his as she leaned down, "Let me ask you this.." She whispered just so only he could hear, he staring up at her in fright.
"Kara, let's not go overboard.." Leo slowly held up his arms wondering what had suddenly gotten into her, growing nervous himself, "Let's just try and reason with him before.." The sound of an approaching vehicle caught their attention, "That."
Batman's vehicle came into view and skid to a stop not that far from them, Batman jumping out and landing in front of his car. "Get off, Robin. Now." Batman said with clear threat but Kara wasn't having it, standing to her feet and pointing Donnie's staff at him, "Not til he answers my question!" This caused Batman to narrow his eyes and move to take a step only for her to turn her attention back to the kid called Robin, the staff now pointed at him, "Were you watching me while I changed?!"
Complete silence all around.
"Wha-what?!" Robin's cheeks started to darken.
"Did. You. Watch. Me. While. I. Changed?!" She stomped the staff to the ground with each word, "N-No! I wouldn't do that!"
"Kara, calm down, Batman looks like he's ready to pounce.." Donnie whispered to her making her turn her attention to him now, "Look, all we came here to do is to see if we're on the same side and not to get peeped on by peeping toms!" Her cheeks were on fire at this point, either from embarrassment or rage; it was hard to tell at this point. Donnie sighed and ushered her aside to calm her down while Mikey got off the kid.
"What my friend is trying to say is that we're not here to fight. My name is Leonardo. These are my brothers, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, and our friend Kara Sharper."
"First off, seriously?" The Batgirl questioned.
"Our father was really into Renaissance painters." Donnie said from the side, petting the top of Kara's head.
"And he's a rat." Mikey added with a smile. This got the Bat family to look at each other.
"Secondly, Sharper..as in Rachel and Kevin Sharper? The famous couple that recently passed away due to a house fire?" Batgirl asked as the two joined the rest of the group.
"It wasn't a house fire!" Kara shouted in anger before turning her head away, biting her lip, "They were murdered.." She said at barely above a whisper.
"I thought they only had one daughter." Batgirl said in surprise.
"In the eyes of the world, yes. I was raised by my aunt who wanted me to have a normal life but when I grew to have a passion for the arts I wanted to join them. Didn't get to though...because of him.." Her eyes narrowed with hatred glancing towards Batgirl to see some doubt so she lifted her bangs to reveal not only her eye but her scar too.
The turtles placed their hands on her shoulder in a comforting way before Leo stepped towards the Bat family, "We're not your enemy. We came to Gotham to stop Shredder and the Foot Clan. Honestly, we thought you might be Shredder's new partner." Leo finished his explanation.
"Shredder, so that's his name. I had heard of a Foot Clan, but I thought they went instinct ages ago." Batman explained.
"They're ninja, you know. Sneaky?" Raph said, covering his face except his eyes with his hands, slamming her fist into her palm for emphasis.
"The Foot like to lay low til the time is right, and by that time is when they strike fast." Kara added in.
"So, are we not going to beat up these green losers?" Robin asked.
"Watch it, kid." Kara narrowed her eyes at him, making him tense up slightly.
"It's not looking like it, no." Batman said making Robin sigh, "Then I may as well tell you that I know exactly who Shredder and the Foot are working with: Ra's Al Ghul."
"Bless you." Kara said this getting looks from everybody, "What?"
Once the tension had died down it was decided that everyone needed some nourishment, and nothing beats turtle teens in a vote on what's for dinner.
"Can you handle all that? It's a lot of pizza." The delivery girl asked with slight concern.
"Young lady, I assure you there's no amount of greasy cheese bread that could surpass my abilities." Alfred stated holding the tall stack of pizzas, demonstrating so by holding the payment out between two fingers. "You're the boss, weird butler." Delivery girl said before running off.
"I offer to cook a gourmet meal, but they want pizza." Alfred said to himself with such a lack of emotion he'd be compared to a statue, "Teenagers."
"Would you accept my help, sir?" Alfred turned around to see Kara in front of him, giving him a smile, "It's the least I can do for not only offering your home but to feed us as well." She leaned up on her tippy toes to grab four of the boxes and stumbled back a bit, catching her footing, and gave him a wide smile.
"It is not necessary, Master Sharper." Alfred went to say but she had already grabbed the boxes.
This got a laugh out of her, walking alongside him, "I know it's part of the job, but please don't call me that, it makes me uncomfortable. Just Kara, if you please...unless you have to...then I guess "Miss" will do..you don't explode if you can't call someone that, right? In the movies it always shows the butler acting all snooty and twitchy when the 'out of towner' interrupts their day to day lives."
Alfred let her talk as she compared him to movie butlers though was complimenting him on his look, how it fits him all the way to the neutral, stone-cold personality til, "Cowabungaaa!" reached their ears, Kara leaning her head back to see Mikey skating down the staircase and towards them. "Oh, no." Was all Afred said before using his body to shove Kara out of the way, she stumbling backwards while trying to balance herself and the pizzas, gasping when she heard a crash. Setting the boxes that were saved down she moved next to Alfred, "Are you ok, sir?"
Mikey popped up from the pile of boxes and pizzas, a slice on his head, "Ooh, pizza." He said with a smile before slurping it up like spaghetti.
"Mikey! You could of hurt someone! This isn't the sewers, this is someone else's home! Have some manners!" Kara jumped to her feet hitting the top of his head like bongos, getting "ows" from him, "Say you-" She stopped, feeling a chill run down her spine, and slowly turned around to see Alfred now behind her, staring down at Michelangelo so she slowly moved out of the way to let him handle the punishment. "I didn't even hear him get up.."
"-And futhermore, I am keeping the skateboard until you learn not to use it in the house."
Everyone looked up the see Alfred, Mikey, and Kara coming down the stairs, Alfred having Mikey by the ends of his mask and carrying his skateboard who was carrying the pizza boxes and Kara who had her phone out recording the whole thing while trying not to laugh.
"Dude, no!"
"Calling me "dude" is not helping your case, young master Michelangelo."
"Come on, old...master...Alfred?.."
"Oh. That's not how that works." Alfred said with a sigh.
"Pizza time, guys." Kara called, running around the two while snagging a couple of boxes and helping distribute them to the group, each of the guys exclaiming in excitement for dinner and beginning to eat.
"Would the young masters care for some napkins?" Alfred asked holding out napkins that made Kara question where he was hiding them.
"What for?" Mikey and Raph asked in unison making Kara groan in embarrassment but couldn't hide her smile. She walked up to Alfred and took them, giving him thanks, and tossed them the napkins it landing on their heads before going to Donnie and gently wiping away the sauce from his mouth, grinning sheepishly and making him blush. She turned her attention to Batgirl and Robin, who came to join them and smiled more when Batgirl started eating, following suit.
"Batgirl, Robin, Shredder and Ra's will be looking for something to replace the Cloud Seeder. Any leads on where they might find that?" Batman asked walking up to them.
"Not right this second, no." Batgirl said with a mouthful, wiping away the sauce from the corner of her mouth.
"Then that's what you should be working on." Batman said, walking away.
"Yes, sir." Robin said with a sigh, setting the pizza down but blinked when Kara's hand was over his and looked up to see her smiling at him while offering the pizza back to him. He stared at it with his mouth clenched before turning away with a 'hmph'
"Come on, dude, you can't fight crime without first partaking in a cheesy slice." Mikey followed after Batman, holding a slice out for him.
"Or eating in general." Kara muttered under her breath, swallowing her food.
"This isn't the time for pizza."
Mikey stopped in his tracks, watching Batman leave, his eyes filled with sorrow. "I totally don't understand that sentence." Donnie walked up to him and lulled him while feeding him to pizza, calming Mikey down.
Suddenly, an alarm started blaring a silhouette of a bat appearing on the screen.
"The Bat Signal. Robin, Batgirl, let's move."
"What about them?" Batgirl asked Batman, pointing at the turtles.
"What do you mean, what about us? We're coming with you." Leo said.
"Please, no." Robin muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Don't judge a book by its cover, little guy." Kara said while walking up to them.
"I don't know Shredder and I don't know the Foot. Leonardo and his brothers are important assets." Batman walked up to them, holding Raph's sai out to him, "But you'll have to follow orders. This is still my city."
"Deal." Leo smiled to Batman, holding his hand out.
"We're definitely gonna want a road pizza." Mikey giggled while carrying the leftover boxes of pizza.
"Wait, wait, wait, before we run off there's something I need to do." Kara walked up to Batman while wiping her hands on the napkin, staring him up and down, "If I recall you were hit by the Sato Oshi Strike, correct?"
"Yes, I'm still recovering from that attack." He gently placed his hand to his chest.
"I'm sure Leo here explained what it was, no?" When he answered with a nod she smiled and pointed at herself, "You're lucky that one of two people that know that technique also taught me how to...lessen its affects. Despite looking and acting normal I'm sure you must be in a lot of pain..let me help you." Her expression softened both of them having a staring contest til Batman gave the slightest of nods, giving her permission. A small smile came to her lips before immediately jabbing her fists into certain points around his lungs and ribs. She took a step back to give him some space and watched as he took a slow inhale through the nose and out his mouth, "That actually helped a lot." He placed his hand over his chest, it not hurting to breath anymore making her smile brighten, "Well, then, let's get a move on, shall we?" She stepped to the side, holding her arm out for him to lead.
"Ninjas. As if we didn't have enough problems in this city." A man in a trench coat said to himself standing beside the Bat Signal.
"Commissioner Gordon. What have you got for me?" Batman asked appearing out of thin air behind him.
"It's Arkham. Alarms went off an hour ago, but when..." He walked towards him reading over a file but when he looked up he slowed to a stop when he saw four turtloids and a new human girl behind Batman, "What are those?"
"Teenagers."
"Mutants."
"Ninjas."
"Turtles."
"Person." Kara added in with a wave.
"Ah...just think about your retirement." Gordon muttered to himself, rubbing his forehead, "Some place where the turtles don't talk and clows are funny."
"It's ok, Jim, they're friends." When Gordon didn't respond, "Arkham." Batman reminded him.
"Right. When my people tried to move in, they were attacked by ninjas. Like the ones that have been knocking over laboratories."
"Sounds like our guy." Kara said under her breath.
"Shredder." Leo punched his fist into his palm.
"We've got the perimeter locked down, but we have to assume there are hostages inside. Guards, doctors, nurses. I need you to.." When he looked up though everyone was gone. "Sure, leave before I finish. That never gets old."
"I'm still here." Mikey said from behind him, startling the poor man to the point of dropping his papers everywhere.
"Oooh, dang it, I always miss the timing on the mysterious vanishing." Kara pouted besides Mikey, running to catch up with the others.
"The Foot have been robbing high-tech laboratories all week. It doesn't make sense for Shredder to take over an asylum all of a sudden." Leo said as he and the group were running through the rooftops.
"Shredder has never been to Gotham before so it must have something to do with his partner, Ra's." Kara stated, gliding next to him having built-in skates inside her shoes, a gift from her Donatello on their very first mission together.
"It doesn't matter. Arkham and its inmates are too dangerous to take any chances."
"If they're that dangerous why have a single place where all of them are gathered?" Kara asked Batman as they jumped a large gap to the next building.
"Here we go! Last one there pays for pizza!" Mikey called out on his skateboard, catching up with them.
"It's not a race!" Robin shouted after him.
"Not with that attitude, it isn't." Batgirl said, bringing out her grappling hook.
"Ha! I never said I didn't wanna win." Robin picked up the pace, all of them having a little competitive fun racing towards Arkham.
"Ha! I win!" Robin stood in front of the building victorious, but everyone was too busy staring up at the sign above the old, worn-down gate, "Arkham Asylum" before their eyes trailed up to the building on top of a hillside cliff.
Kara deadpanned at the sight the first word coming to mind, "Haunted". "All its missing is some lightning in the sky then the whole haunted, horror aesthetic will be complete. Tell me again why you keep ALL your dangerous villains here again?" She crossed her arms turning the batman.
"No sign of the Foot or the League. Stay sharp." He walked ahead of them making Kara's shoulders sag, "Sure. Ignore me." She follows behind the group walking up the only path to the Asylum, the doors opened wide to them, "That's not a good sign." Kara muttered to herself while Mikey set his skateboard down against one of the doors. She stepped in front of everyone, her eyes going white when the sound of a heavy thud reached her ears causing her to wince and cover her ears.
Donnie moved next to her to see if she was ok when a high pitched, Brooklyn accent was heard. "Well, would ya look at that. The Bats have made some new best friends."
Kara let out a noise when a hyena mutant with abnormally large canines wearing a red and black jester costume with matching make up stood on the railing leaning against her oversized mallet, "So, you gonna introduce me to your new turtle pals or what?"
"Or what." Kara answered, crossing her arms while narrowing her eyes at the thing, feeling all sorts of wrong from this person. The hyena's eyes trailed to her, her grin becoming even more wide than normal which gave Kara goosebumps, "I see this one's got jokes. Good. Could use someone with a sense of humor around here." She giggled.
"Harley, what have they done to you?" Batman asked, gently pulling Kara behind him.
"The Ooze. They must have injected themselves." Donnie replied.
"I would question why willingly but since we're in the looney bin then it must not be for a good reason." Kara lowered her stance, eyes still on the Hyena called Harley, readying herself in case a fight broke out.
"Uh-Uh! There'll be plenty of time to talk once you find Mister J and our guests. He's got a whole thing planned. I don't wanna ruin it. You know how he gets." She walked off, leaning her head back to look at them one last time before leaving them alone. Leo went to follow her but was stopped by Batman, "Wait. Presumably, Shredder and Ra's have mutated all the inmates at Arkham."
"Another reason to separate them-ow!" Kara muttered before Raph smacked her upside the head to shut her up.
"Was this their plan? Mutate the villains and unleash them on the city?"
"I have a feeling this is just one part of the puzzle. Split up and investigate each wing."
"Hold up. Before we get to planning, let's not waste our time, shall we?" Kara smirked at them while walking around Batman and taking a couple steps forward. Batman squinted his eyes at her, "We do-" "Hush." She interrupted him, glaring at him with her whitened eyes, this surprising the two bats, not just the look of her eyes but that she had the guts to hush Batman who glared back but kept his mouth shut. Leo placed his hand on his shoulder and gave him a smile, the others nodding and grinning. He stared at them before looking back at Kara who stomped her foot on the ground then once more, "There are five levels, one inmate to each level. The hostages are gathered in the surveillance room and a small group at the very bottom with what looks to be an operating theater." She let out a sigh, her eyes returning to normal and turned around, smiling at them with her hands to her hips, "Now we can split up and investigate."
"Wow, Kara, how'd you do that?"
"Yeah, that was incredible!" Batgirl and Robin exclaimed in amazement.
She rubbed her nose with a single finger, smiling smugly before reaching her hand up to her scarred eye, "Their father taught me. I have trouble seeing in this eye sometimes so he trained me not to just use my sight but my other senses to see as well. Hey, maybe I can join the Batfamily. My name can be Echo as in echolocation, eh? Eh?" She smiled wide while looking at them all, making them groan at her attempt at a joke, Mikey being the only one to laugh.
"As Kara mentioned, the hostages are still alive and on top of that, even before they were mutated, these inmates were the deadliest criminals in all of Gotham." Batman left after his little speech leaving the others to stand there unsure what to do.
"I was kind of expecting a pep talk." Donnie said, breaking the silence.
"That was the pep talk." Robin said.
"Go, team." Batgirl raised her thumbs up in an awkward cheer.
Kara sighed before stepping forward, "This family is so strange. Ok, Leo, you follow after Batman. Raph, Mikey, and Robin, you search the cafeteria. Donnie, Batgirl, and I will take the uh..activities hall? Where they do all their...stuff in." Kara smacked her forehead trying to sound cool but failed.
"It's called the Commons Room." Donnie stepped forward kissing the top of her head before taking her hand and they walking together.
"Ugh. What was that?" Robin asked with childlike disgust on his face.
"What we have to live with." Raph said with no emotion in his tone, ushering Robin to follow him.
"Hey, wait up!" Batgirl and Mikey said, running after their groups.
Leo let out a soft sigh and went to catch up with Batman.
Entering the narrow hallway, Donnie with his weapon out and in front, Batgirl in the middle, and Kara in the back. Kara lifted her head looking at all the portraits of, who she had to guess, were the founders of this place, "Funny how normal looking people made a place like this. Could at least keep up with the interior maintenance." She mumbled while sliding a finger across the wall, picking up dust, and wiping it on her pants.
"So, are you two dating? You don't have to answer if you don't want to." Batgirl was obviously curious, this making Kara smile, "Yes, we are."
"How did that come to be?"
"It's sorta a long story. I can share it with you later, if you're still interested." Kara gave her a sideways grin.
Batgirl gave her a smile, secretly appreciative to have another girl in the group that she could share her interests with as well as just talk like normal people but there was one thing she was curious about that is closely related to the topic of them being a couple, "So, this, ugh, Ooze. Does it affect your mind?" She turned her attention to Donnie.
"Oh, no, not that I've encountered. It might change your mannerisms, but you're still you." Donnie explained.
Kara opened her mouth to say something but instead of her voice came a muffled, rumbling, Spanish accent, "I disagree."
"That wasn-" Kara didn't get to finish her sentence when two massive, orange with black spotted, furry arms smashed through the wall on their left grabbing Batgirl and Donnie throwing them into the room it was in. "Donnie! Batgirl!" Kara shouted, stepping through the hole in the wall to see Donnie on the ground with heavy lifting equipment on him. Batgirl lifted herself up, "Bane?" She questioned.
"I feel like a new man." The owner of the voice revealed to me a towering jaguar mutant wearing wrestling gear. He began to attack Batgirl while Kara ran towards Donnie, lifting the gear off him with struggled strength. She quickly checked his vitals to make sure he was alive and nothing serious was broken, sighing in relief to see he was ok, before standing to her feet while pulling on her gloves to make sure they were good and tight. "Hey, kitty cat!" She shouted, distracting him from the fallen Batgirl, "You don't have a cat fight with a bat." She grinned his way while bringing up her arms, the muscles tightening, this making Bane grin.
"You are new to this world, girl, yet your scars say otherwise, you're going to make a fun plaything." Bane said, stalking towards her while baring his fangs.
"No, thanks, I'm already taken." She stuck her tongue out and hopped to the side to avoid his massive fist, jabbing hers into his arm only to blink in surprise when she felt she couldn't penetrate his skin due to the muscles and fur, "Well, crap." She sighed as he roared and back handed her away, she crashing into the wall, the air getting knocked out of her. She slowly stood to her arms and knees, coughing and gasping for air, her eyes going white as she sees him coming towards her. She struggles to her feet and sees Donnie slamming his staff down on his back, somersaulting over him, and standing between him and Kara protectively only to get grabbed and thrown into the wall as well.
"Hope the others are doing better than we are." Kara controlled her breathing, her body emitting a soft aura, and opened her eyes her grin returning, pulling the finger part of the gloves off to show her sharp fingernails. "Alright, jaggy rawr, round two." but blinked, her grin faltering when he grabbed Donnie, "Did they not tell you about me, little turtles?" Her pupils began to shrink watching him lift him up over his head while lifting his knee up, Kara recognizing this wrestling move, "No!" She shouted, running at him.
"I'm the man who broke the Bat!" Bane shouted, slamming Donnie on to his knee only to scream out in pain when his hard shell made contact. Donnie kicked Bane in the face, using this time to escape and distracting him as Kara climbed on to his back, "Well, guess what? I'm the straw that broke the camel's back." She shouted while pressing her fingers into a point on his neck, paralyzing him, and giving Batgirl the chance to knock him out with a heavy dumbbell.
Standing over their defeated foe for a moment it wasn't until Kara fell to her arms and knees, her body trembling. When Batgirl and Donnie bent down to make sure she was ok, they both looked at each other, letting out a sigh of relief when she began to laugh out loud not only at the relief she felt that Donnie was ok but how stupid she felt that she nor Bane remembered his shell.
"So, does she make quips like that all the time?" Batgirl asked, remembering her last line.
"From time to time. It's what I like about her." Donnie said with a bashful grin, this making Batgirl smile at the two.
"Nice work, by the way." Batgirl said, both she and Donnie standing up.
"Thanks, although I can't really take credit for the shell. That's more, you know, evolution." He said with a tap to said shell.
"HE DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD HURT HIM." Kara breathed out, still laughing.
"Sure." Was all Batgirl said.
After Kara had calmed down, they found the hostages Batgirl and Donnie untying them while Kara looked over any injuries. "A little shaken up but they'll be fine. I hope they have good insurance for therapy.." She shook her head to stay focused, "Best stay here til the ambulance and police arrive. Don't move too much." She explained with a reassuring smile before standing up and all of them leaving, "Everyone's gathered in the operating theater..and I do mean everyone." She said in a low voice, not liking what she saw.
Arriving with Batgirl kicking the door open, they saw the hyena, a snake, polar bear, and a two headed catman around Batman who was trapped in ice and the others in front of them, on the ground, "What the.." Kara looked at her friends then up to hear Batman groaning in pain til he transformed into a huge bat mutant, something she would probably see in her nightmares, watching as he flew in the air, grabbing the two headed cat and throwing him out a stain glass window-wait, what? She blinked wondering what that was doing in an operating theater til she came back to her senses in time for Batman to crash into the floor on top of the polar bear, hearing it scream from the darkness. Kara closed her eyes for a moment only to immediately open them and look away, burying her head in Donnie's shoulders, shaken by what she saw, the screaming now having stopped.
Batman resurfaced, crouched with his head down, panting heavily.
"Batman?" Robin slowly moved towards him, his arms reaching out, "Father..are you there?" His voice soft as he leaned down some only for Batman to screech at him, Leo pulling him away, "I don't think Batman is home right now."
"Then we better leave him a message and hope he gets back to us." Kara ran at Batman as Raph jumped on him and slammed her elbow into his face to expose his neck but when she moved her fingertips towards his neck he grabbed her hand away from him and bit down on her shoulder. She let out a blood curdling scream as his sharpened teeth not only penetrated her skin deep but feeling him drink her blood.
"KARA!" Everyone screamed, Raph pulling on his wings and forcing him off her, she screaming more as his teeth were ripped out of her.
Donnie and Batgirl ran to her as she fell, blood oozing out of her wounds, the area around the skin turning blue, dark veins appearing above the skin and traveling down her body and up her neck. She could feel the venomous ooze in her system trying to take over her as her body began to shake violently causing her to let out noises in pain, her mind racing in a panic to the point she couldn't hear the others fighting off Batman or Batgirl and Donnie talking above her. No, all that training wasn't going to go to waste. She wasn't going out like this. She forced her body into a sitting position, closing her eyes while trying to control her breathing, "Go..h-help the...oothers. Use-t-the anti-d-dote on Batman. I'll be fine." She opened her eyes to reveal them glowing white, beginning to mumble a mantra Splinter taught her.
Donnie nodded to Batgirl, placing her hand reassuringly on her shoulder and they both went to help the others while Kara battled off the venom but it was beginning to overpower her to the point of losing consciousness.
Batgirl and Robin fought off Snoker and Harlena to grab the retro-ooze while the turtles tried to restrain Batman, both parties succeeding in saving and returning him to his human state and capturing all the villains.
Raph and Leo carried Batman out while Donnie carried Kara in his arms, her body still emitting its glow.
"Will she be ok?" Mikey asked worriedly.
"Once we get back to the Batcave Donnie and I can create more of the retromutagen and save her." Batgirl explained, all of them rushing to their destination.
Kara blinked her eyes open, scanning the area, when she heard voices and turned her head to the side to see not only Batman beside her asleep with Alfred tending to him but the guys off to the side, talking amongst themselves. Feeling an itch in her left arm she tried to turn her head only to wince in pain so she lifted it as high as she could to see an IV attached with a blood pouch next to the bed.
"Batgirl, Kara, and I found the surviving hostages in the surveillance room downstairs. They're fine. Mostly." Donnie reported.
"Handing the anti-ooze over to the Gotham police should let them get the inmates back to their normal selves. And since there wasn't any sign of Shredder or the Foot in Arkham-"
"-Then that whole thing was a giant distraction!" Raph let out a yell in anger at their time being wasted.
"Raph, hush, Batman and Kara are still recovering." He pointed to the two til Robin walked up to them. "I didn't get to say this but you guys saved him. Thank you." He looked up at them making Mikey shove the others out the way, and give Robin a big hug, lifting him off his feet.
"Guys, she's awake." Batgirl called to them, all of them rushing to her as she tried to lift herself up only to let out a cry in pain, Alfred and Batgirl gently laying her back down, "You must keep still, Miss Kara, if you want your wounds to heal properly." Alfred explained, gently wiping the sweat from her forehead and adjusting the bed to have her sit up.
"Heh, thanks, Alfred." She said with a smile, this making him smile in return.
"Kara, you're ok!" Mikey shouted while bringing Robin with him.
"How are you feeling?" Leo asked placing his hand on her non wounded shoulder.
"Hurts like the dickens but once I perform a few more mantras I should be good to go." Kara gave them a wide smile to let them know she was ok.
"Good. You had us worried there; especially me." Donnie said softly taking her hand into his while stroking her forehead with the other before touching his with hers, she closing her eyes to his touch. "How's the big guy doing?" Kara looked over to Batman who was now unmasked.
"He's been out of it just as long as you so we're having Alfred watch over his vitals while we figure out what Shredder and Ra's were up to after Arkham." Leo explained.
"So, what did you find?"
"The Wayne Enterprises container ship that was moving the Cloud Seeder to Bludhaven was hijacked last night." Batgirl explained.
"While we were running about in Arkham.." Kara added in a low voice, not too pleased about it, Batgirl nodding, "The thieves then smuggled the Cloud Seeder back into Gotham port." She finished, crossing her arms.
Donnie moved to the big computer, pulling up the schematics for the machines, "With the machinery that the Foot has stolen, I think they're building something that will mix the Ooze with Joker's formula and launch the Jokerized Ooze into the clouds above the city." Donnie pushed a button, the screen showing a clip of the machines combining and raining the ooze over the city.
"And when it rains down, it'll turn everyone in Gotham into a monster mutant like Batman." Leo finished.
"So, this is becoming one smorgasbord of crazy." Kara groaned while scratching her head at the headache Shredder and this Ra's were making, her eyes going over to Mikey as he let out a shout, "Dudes! I'm freaking out here! Did everyone else know that Batman is Bruce Wayne?!" Mikey threw his hands up before grabbing at his face and pulling down on his skin.
Both Raph and Kara smacked their foreheads in sync.
"I mean, you knew the Batcave was under Wayne Manor." Donnie said patiently.
"Just saying, it's a lot to take in." Mikey scratched his cheek before leaning on him, "Rich and cool? It's like, leave something for the rest of us, guy." At this point Alfred ushered Mikey away from Mr. Wayne, "Going. I'm going, ok?"
Shaking her head at his loudness she sighed, "So, have you guys figured out where Shredder and Ra's are building the machine?"
"I don't know exactly how Joker makes his venom,"
"Probably has his own science kit in his kitchen." Kara muttered under her breath.
"But I do know where the components would be." Batgirl ignoring Kara began to type into the computer, bringing up a factory, "Ace Chemicals. It's where the Joker was created when he fell into a vat of, you know, chemicals. So, if they need venom, they'll be there."
"But it's walled off, easy to defend." Leo pointed out.
"Probably to keep other people from becoming the next Joker. At least they learn from their mistakes." Kara began to scratch at her bandages only to have Alfred gently smack her hand away.
"So what? If they're dug in and ready for a fight, then we bring 'em a freaken' fight." Raph said with a smirk.
Not wanting to sit this one out Kara touched her fingertips together to perform another mantra when the sound of Bruce's voice reached their ears, "We aren't doing anything." Bruce climbed out of the bed, with Alfred and Robin's help, "Master Bruce, you are not well."
"I'm as well as I need to be." He said, pulling the IV off him.
"Doesn't look like it to me." Kara said from behind him, he turning his head to look at her with a glare only to stop when he saw the state she was in; her chest and shoulder covered in bandages with a blood IV attached to her arm. Despite how vague his memories were during his mutant state he could piece together that she was harmed by him. He quickly turned his head away and walked towards his gear, "Batgirl and Robin are coming with me to Ace. The turtles are going home."
"What? Come on. We know your secret identity now. Our team up has been cemented." Mikey complained, the others walking up to him.
"I gave you a chance, but you five are impulsive, and you don't follow orders. I want you out of Gotham." All of them were having a glare off as Alfred walked up to Bruce, "Master Bruce, Miss Kara is in no shape to move around."
"Thank you for your concern, Alfred, but I'll be ok. It's not my first time getting hurt and it certainly won't be my last. Good thing I don't need my shoulder to walk." Using her other arm, she hoisted herself off the bed and moved for her clothes, blinking in surprise to see not only her shirt but her favorite jacket stitched up and good as new, this making her smile and look to Alfred, "He's so cool."
"Uh, father, look, it pains me to say this, but the turtles saved you in Arkham. They are valiant allies. Even the dumb one, Michelangelo." Despite his last comment Robin stood between Bruce and the turtles, defending them.
"Heeey, not cool." Mikey pouted while crossing his arms.
"If it wasn't for them, Joker would've never gotten close enough to inject me in the first place and Kara could have died." Bruce clipped his cape on before lowering the mask over his face, "This is not up for discussion."
Leo and Donnie walked over to Kara, gently guiding her to them, "Maybe he's right. Following Batman's lead took us to Arkham and distracted us from Shredder. We'd be better off on our own."
Kara stared at Leo worriedly, knowing deep down that wasn't the case. She took a deep breath to say something til, "No, no, he ain't right." Raph blurted out, shoving the others out of the way making a beeline for Batman, Leo and Donnie pulling Kara out of the way, "Look, Batman, I get it, the whole brooding loner thing. Sitting up on rooftops mumbling about how you're the only one who could stand up to evil in your own city. That's my whole deal. I love that stuff, and I totally agree that my brothers are annoying. Unbearably so, sometimes."
"Is he forgetting he's the one that charges headfirst without thinking? All the time." Kara raised a brow while placing her non injured arm on her hip.
"At least he didn't mention you in that part." Donnie commented.
"Well, yeah, I'm awesome."
"Um...where are you going with this?" Leo asked.
"That's why, when things get tough, I don't even bother with them. I go off on my own and do things my way."
"He does do that." Donnie agreed, Mikey adding in with his, "Mhmm. Mhmm."
"Wait for it." Kara said with a grin.
"Yeah, but here's the thing. Every single time, I just get into more trouble, and my brothers and Kara have to bail me out."
"It's true. Every time." Mikey popped up, smiling.
"We've even made a game of it, the loser having to buy dinner." Kara snickered, she fist-bumping Mikey both of them being tied in the winning category.
Raph's face dropped at them but he continued on, "Sure, we make mistakes. Sure, we make the wrong moves but we can't get better if you don't trust us." While Raph was giving his speech Batman was filling his utility belt with different gadgets and doodads til Raph grabbed his shoulder pulling him to face him.
Gasps all around echoed at what Raph had just done, except for Kara, with Mikey being a second late.
"We're a family and learning from your mistakes together is how a family works."
"This isn't a family. It's a team." Batman stated, walking around him.
"Ain't that the same thing?" Raph asked softly.
"Didn't I hear Robin call Batman father?" Kara whispered to Leo who only sighed while giving her a look that said, "This isn't the time."
Batman walked up to his vehicle, the top opening for him, and stopped for a moment seeming to be thinking. He looked over to his team, Alfred giving him a look. After a moment of silence he spoke, "You're right."
Everyone stared at him in surprise while Alfred gave him a knowing smirk as he walked up to them all. "Let's stop Ra's and Shredder. Together." Batman held out his hand to Leo who stared down at it for a moment before reaching his hand to shake it til Mikey hopped over Raph, shoving him down, "Awesome, dibs on the Batmobile."
"Uh, we have our own ride." Leo reminded him.
"You do?" Batgirl questioned.
"Yeah, we didn't walk here from New York." Donnie said with a raised brow.
"If that were to happen we would of been too late to join the party." Kara said with a chuckle.
"Don't care, called the Batmobile." Mikey was already inside having buckled his seatbelt.
Kara patted Batman's arm, "Goodluck." Was all she said as they all prepared for the upcoming battle.
On the road Batman and Mikey were in the Batmobile while the others were inside the PartyWagon.
"So, you ride around in this thing on purpose?" Robin questioned.
"Hey, my Donnie built this thing by hand. You should be in awe cause I sure am." She looked to him with rosy cheeks and a goofy smile before kissing his cheek she wearing one of Bruce's shirt due to her own being too restricted on her wounds, though with his build it was massive on her to the point of her tying it at her hip and rolling the sleeves up.
"Uggggh." Both Raph and Robin said.
Leo looked to Robin with a smile and without saying anything pulled a lever that raised a spoiler on the roof, lowered a pair of tinted shades on the window, and soon they were speeding off ahead of the Batmobile.
"Ok, that's cool!" Robin said in child-like excitement.
"Told ya~" Kara sang, putting her arm around Donnie and bringing him close making him smile and blush as his head was nestled on her chest.
As they were nearing the factory they were greeted with a swarm of explosive arrows raining down on them, each vehicle moving to avoid any lethal damage. It wasn't long til they brought out a missile launcher, firing it at the Batmobile, but Leo maneuvered the PartyWagon to take the hit, the rocket bouncing off their roof and exploding behind them. More arrows were fired but it didn't nothing to stop them and soon the PartyWagon burst through the gate with the Batmobile close behind. Now that they were in the vicinity it wouldn't be long til they reached the actual building.
Now that they were inside, they were becoming more drastic and eager to stop them, one of the henchmen operating a crane and dropping shipping containers, Leo yanking the wheel to have them avoid the massive object, the left side of the van scraping against the metal, the others behind him being jostled around.
"Yeesh, wouldn't want to explain that to Dragan.." Kara thought knowing by the sound alone it would take a while to repair.
"Donnie." She heard Leo say, she walking up to the window to see another shipping container moving to be released on top of them. Donnie sat down in his chair as he was lifted to the roof and aimed for the controls of the crane firing three manhole covers while muttering, "Bossa Nova." completely anhilating the control room which in turn had the container drop prematurely and destroy the henchmen that were after them in the back only for more to come.
Hearing bike engines Kara looked through the side mirrors only for it to get shot at with arrows.
"Raph. Batgirl, you're up." Leo called out.
Both teams went to their respective vehicles, Kara pressing a button to release them to take care of the enemy.
Since no one was around Kara poked Leo continuously on the arm, "I want one of those."
"Then you should be speaking with someone else." Leo kept his focus on the road but the frown on his face was clearly towards her.
Kara puffed her cheeks before climbing to the roof, the simple task being a struggle with one arm, and lifted the hatch open enough to watch Donnie and Robin take care of the henchmen that were changed to mutants with their staffs, "So cool~" She whispered in awe, stars in her eyes only to let out a yell and fall on her back when they were rammed on the side. She stood up rubbing her head and hissing in pain, moving to sit in the passenger seat and buckle herself up, "Safety first." She mumbled to herself only to look up hearing a knock on the window.
"Hey, we're. Still. Out here." Donnie shouted with each knock on the glass.
"Sorry, sweetie!" Kara shouted.
It wasn't long til they were met with their biggest foe before the final battle. Literally.
Crashing through the side, throwing shipping containers out of its way appeared a T-Rex who let out a roar, looking right at Kara and Leo.
"If I wasn't so frightened I would say something like, "This is so metal!" She screamed, "But alas, I am terrified...BOOK IT, LEO." She screamed louder, he slamming on the gas after having reversed the vehicle.
With Robin having dealt with the T-Rex in an awesome way there was nothing standing between them and the Factory.
"I really hope one of them is about to say, "Now nothing can stand in my way." Cause boy are they in for a surprise." Kara smirked with her eyes on the factory as each vehicle crashed through any breakable force, all of them exiting their rides and standing before Shredder and Ra's with weapons out and ready.
"That's it. We have to shut it off before it launches." Donnie said, all of them looking to the device.
"You're too late, detective. Gotham will fall and be born anew." Ra's said as his many henchmen began to merge from the shadows.
"We don't have much time. Let's take him down."
"Right behind you, Batman." Kara touched her injured shoulder, it glowing for a moment and grinned as she began to roll it around, the pain becoming numb and charged forward with the others.
Luckily, there were plenty of enemies to go around, no one was left behind in giving out a beating.
Kara, Leo, and Donnie grappled to the upper level, Kara standing at the top of the stairs with Leo on her left standing straight with his swords pointed out at his sides and Donnie on her right crouched holding his staff linked under his arms behind his back. Kara glared down at Shredder when Batman dropped down on the stairs below her. "Shut off the Cloud Seeder. Shredder is mine." He narrowed his eyes at him making Kara bite her lip in annoyance only to sigh and sag her shoulders, "Save some for me. We also have unfinished business." She nodded her head to the guys, running towards the device with the two in tow as Batman began round two of their fight.
Standing in front of the machine Kara let out a huff, "You wouldn't happen to know where the off button is, Donnie?"
Before he could answer, though, "Typical. Batman sends children to do his work for him. Perhaps another must die to teach him the folly of his ways."
"Don't you get tired of hearing your voice? You know, being 'immortal' and all?" Kara asked, frowning at his words but let them leave her brain for soon the fight commenced.
While Leo and Donnie had his attention to the front Kara pushed off the two and landed behind Ra's making a run for the machine. Having both the turtle's weapons blocked with his sword, the turtles trying to overpower him but and failing, his eyes followed the fleeing child running towards the device and swung his sword in a circle, catching both weapons and flung them aside then in one swift motion kicked Leo and Donnie away and turned around throwing his sword at her. Hearing the sound of something flying she spun around and hopped to the side as the sword stabbed into the ground where her left leg was and let out a gasp when Ra's was right on top of her, hand already on the hilt of his sword and swung hard slicing through the floor and towards her.
With a startled shout she reached out, clamping her palms on to each side of the sword, the tip barely an inch from her waist.
"Impressive." Ra's muttered with a smirk, pulling the sword back to strike except Donnie had pushed his staff forward, stopping his sword.
"Think that's impressive, you should see our teamwork." With the difference in their techniques Ra's was forced to use both hands, Donnie keeping the sword on him while Kara would attack his sides. She let out a victorious shout when she gripped his wrist and jabbed her fist into a point on his arm but was lifted up off her feet and slammed into the railings which caused her to loosen her grip and receive a foot to her face, sending her across the walkway right next to Leo.
Donnie narrowed his eyes and charged at Ra's but he blocked his staff and lifted it upwards and kicked him backwards. When he caught himself though Ra's was already swinging his sword, it stabbing into his staff. With a smirk, Ra's pulled his sword out and grabbed Donnie's arm, pulling it so it was out against the rail and his staff and lifted his leg, sending it down on to his arm, breaking it and his staff.
Hearing Donnie's cry of pain Kara stood to her feet, eyes wide, to see him drop to the ground along with his broken staff. "Donnie.." She whispered watching as Ra's put his foot on him and gently nudged him over the edge, his body free falling to the ground below.
Flashes of memories echoed in her mind of them from when they first met to them sharing their feelings for each other to now, tears welling in her eyes, til she narrowed them in rage they beginning to glow. With an enraged scream her hands burst into a flaming light and she ran full speed at him, throwing punches anywhere and everywhere. Despite Ra's cool composure, sweat began to trickle down his face as her attacks were becoming faster and more unpredictable to the point she was making scratch marks on his body til she punched him across the face, his eyes widening in pain as he stumbled backwards, but she wasn't going to give him any time to think for she was already on top of him. He glared at her and thrusted his sword to stab through her chest but Leo was bent at her side, swords crossed over each other, stopping his sword from touching her.
"Kara. Listen to me." Leo spoke gently, keeping his eyes on Ra's, Batman's words echoing in his mind, "Donnie isn't gone forever, he's still alive. You have to go help him."
Kara's heavy, loud breathing seemed to be blocking out Leo's voice, her eyes solely on Ra's til Donnie's name reached her ears and her breathing began to slow down, listening closely and able to hear him groaning. Her eyes widened in sadness when she came to her senses and looked down at Leo who gave her a smile which changed to a smirk and nodded. Her eyes returned to their normal color and she grinned down at him before grabbing the railing and pushing herself over the edge, dropping down at him.
"Donnie! Donnie, speak to me." She slid to her knees at his side and placed her hands that were now normal on his shell as he slowly lifted his head, "The machine..help me to the machine." She nodded and carefully helped him to his feet, taking him to the device. With a grunt he removed his good arm from around her shoulder and drooped himself on the machine, "Ok, tell me what you need me to do." She moved towards the controls til it suddenly turned on its own and began to lift off the ground. She moved to climb on it when she suddenly felt dizzy and stumbled backwards, falling on to her butt. "Wha-what the.." She looked up and gasped when Donnie and the machine were too high up for her to grab him but let out a sigh when she saw Mikey join him. "Must have to do with that freak out..will have to ask Splinter about that when we get home.." She rubbed her head while taking some deep breaths and regained her senses, standing to her feet.
She looked down the lower levels and saw Shredder getting the upper hand on Batman and narrowed her eyes.
"No tricks. No gadgets." Shredder said, repelling each of his little machines, and slicing Batman's utility belt off, sending him flying and landing on his back. "I promised you would die if you stood in my way. You are no match for me." Shredder sent a kick to Batman's face, throwing him into the wall, he dropping to the ground. "Now, I will take control of the League of Assassins, harness the power of the Lazarus Pits, and the Foot Clan will rule for a thousand years." Shredder began the Sato Oshi stance, his blades extending out to give the final blow, "Any last words?"
Batman lifted his head, eyes narrowed, "Cowabunga."
"What? Cowabunga?" Shredder's confusion was the last thing he saw for Raph came flying at Shredder, shell first, slamming into his face, falling over the other side of the rail while shouting, "Boom! In your dumb face, Shred-head!" with a rope tied around his waist.
Kara dropped down from the upper level, planting her feet onto his face and shoved off, doing a backwards flip and landing on her feet as Shredder was thrown to the ground, his shattered mask in front of him, glaring up at she and Batman revealing claw marks over his mouth.
"Batman. Let me finish this. Please." Kara kept her eyes on Shredder as she pulled out a hairpin with three blue flowers decorating it, one of them broken, and moving her bangs out of her face. Batman did nor said nothing which she took as permission and charged at him sending a kick to his chin, throwing his head upwards and sending her fist right in his face, blood splattering out of his nose. His instincts were to block his face so she went down to his chest punching him in his gut twice then threw an uppercut that caused him to lose his footing and in doing so, drop his guard. Seeing they were close to the end of the walkway she took a couple steps backwards, "This..is for my family!" She shouted and ran at him, flying at him with her feet planted on his face, both of them falling over the ledge, they landing on a large pipe with her standing on top of him, her feet still in his face.
"Impressive." Batman muttered, walking calmly after them.
She pushed off him, landing safely on the walkway as Shredder dropped to the floor with a grunt, She glancing behind her as Batman, Leo and Raph, Robin and Batgirl gathered behind her.
"It...it doesn't matter." Shredder managed to say as he forced himself to his feet, blood oozing from his broken nose, "Destroying Gotham was only Ra's Al Ghul's objective. The Foot and the League are mine. There's nothing any of you can do to stop me." Shredder declared til the sound of a blaring alarm caught everyone's ears, the burning machine landing near Shredder, the force throwing him in the air not only smacking him into a pipe but having him fall into the Joker Ooze.
"How about that?" Kara asked with narrowed eyes and a raised brow, tilting her head slightly. She blinked when the factory exploded around them.
"We have to get everyone out, now!" Batman ordered, everyone grabbing as many bodies as they could.
"Little help? My guy's really heavy." Batgirl called out, struggling to lift the massive man.
Kara ran over and blinked seeing his back was on fire and kicked him onto his back, hoping to extinguish it. Looking to the guy and her shoulder she shrugged and grabbed a leg, she and Batgirl dragging the man out by his feet.
Once they were safely away all of them fled back to the Batcave in their respective vehicles.
With Kara helping Alfred treat Donnie's arm it didn't take as long to mend it as it normally would for her, which she was grateful for. When they finished with the cast Kara threw her arms around his neck, hugging him tight. She squeezed her eyes as tight remembering his cries of pain and seeing him get taken down. Feeling his hand on her back she looked at him and placed her hands over his cheeks, smiling, knowing he was safe and sound. They leaned in to kiss when Batgirl began to speak, both of them turning around to look at her.
"The scan showed no trace of the Jokerized Ooze in the air."
"No way Shredder could've survived that." Raph said.
"Well, we've certainly counted him out before. Only to be surprised." Leo whispered, narrowing his eyes.
"I still can't believe Master Bruce actually said, "Cowabunga.""
"I know, right? Gah, I wish I could've recorded it! Would of been my favorite ring tone." Kara said with a laugh.
"Come on, that was genius!" Mikey shouted, smacking Donnie on his bad arm, this getting an unpleasant look from Alfred, Donnie, and a glaring Kara who looked ready to pounce him, "We needed a code word that Batman would never normally say."
"Yeah, but now I want him to say something even more silly like, uh, Tubular or Booyakasha!" Kara said with a laugh.
"Booyakasha?" Donnie questioned with a raised brow and smile.
"I know, sounds weird, right?" This got Kara's eyes to shine already imagining it.
"Sounds more like something Mikey would say." He said with a chuckle, giving her cheek a little pinch and making her giggle.
"You did well out there. Your father will be very proud." Batman walked up to Leo and held his hand out.
Something in Kara got her to freeze hearing him say that she lowered her head in sadness and quietly excusing herself. Finding herself in the middle of Bruce's garden maze she walked up to the fountain and stared at her reflection while taking off the hairpin and looked at it, recalling The Foot attack on her and her parents, "Mom. Dad. I did it. I gave Shredder the beating he deserved for what he did to me..and you. Rest in peace..I love you." She clenched the hairpin while bringing it to her chest, the tears falling freely. "You know, I didn't get to grow up with my parents. My aunt took me in and cared for me, loved me, but it wasn't the same. That short moment I was able to be with them I truly felt what parental love was..and he took that away from me leaving me a constant reminder of how weak I was," She placed her hand over her scar before turning around to look at Batman and gave him the biggest smile she could muster through her tears, "Thank you for helping my friends and I. He's been a constant thorn in our sides..and if he returns..we'll be ready for him. He's not tearing anyone else's family apart..not on my watch." She placed the hairpin back on and began wiping her tears away when he walked up to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. Curious, she looked at him with a raised brow only to hear a deep, "Booyakasha." She blinked a couple times before her eyes brightened along with her smile and jumped into his arms, hugging him while letting out a laugh, "This is definitely one of my best days ever!"
Batman stared down at her a small smile crossing his face while giving her back a gentle pat before letting her go and stepping aside to show her back to the batcave, "It's pizza time."
"Wait, for real? Awesome! So, how do you eat your pizza? Were you allowed to eat pizza while you were growing up? I bet Alfred made you eat it with a fork and knife, I can see him eating it that way, can't get his gloves dirty, right?"
Batman let her talk all the way back to the Batcave, them joining the party before it was time to depart. After exchanging contacts and saying their goodbyes the guys and Kara left back for home.
It was about two days when they finally arrived back at the sewers of their home.
One by one each tired turtle exited the vehicle, Donnie helping Kara, her shoulder starting to ache now that she was giving it time to properly heal, she groaning all the way to his lab so they can change the bandages when suddenly, "Where the bloody dickens hae ye aw been?"
Kara and the turtles froze in place, shoulders tensed as a 5'7 female with fiery, shoulder length bob hair walked to them wearing an open grey jumpsuit that was stained with oil stains and other things Kara has no knowledge of, wearing a tight black shirt underneath the jumpsuit to the point it was sliding up and showing off part of her toned stomach, "Well? I'm waitin' on an ans-OH MY GAWD WHAT DID YA DO TAE THE PARTY WAGON?!" She screamed, rushing to the side to see the damage that it had taken, "That paint job wasn't even a month old! Wha-Wha...What did ya do?!" She slowly turned her head towards them, her left blue and right green eyes burning in fury, her freckles seeming to be glowing at how angry she was.
The guys and Kara shrunk around each other, cowering at the anger of their mechanic friend when another, much calmer yet stern voice was heard behind them, "Dragan, calm yourself, anger clouds the mind and leads to disastrous outcomes."
Dragan let out a huff, letting her shoulders relax some while running her hand through her hair, "Ye are right, sir."
"So, tell me sons and Kara, what strange events occurred while you were away."
"Guys, I think we're screwed." Mikey whispered to them, making Kara smack her forehead only to let out a yelp when she used her bad arm.
I cannot tell you the amount of fun I had while writing this (aside from the mishaps my computer is facing) but I hope you enjoyed it as well. To be honest, I actually decided to write this just on the line, "I'm the straw that broke the camel's back." alone. It's amazing how my mind came up with the rest of it. On a serious note: I don't think I'll be able to continue the human Au for this series, one of the characters that isn't mine...I'm not in contact with their owner and it's not right to continue writing without them giving the ok on if this is in character and what not. I'll just have to come up with other Aus in its stead. If you have ideas I'd be happy to listen. Other than that reviews are nice but so are hugs and I will take both. Til next time!
