Chapter 16

Roman kicked in the door and aimed his shotgun. He slowly stepped inside, the silence in the room only broken by his footsteps on the hardwood floor, each step carrying weight with the large terronian. He walked up to the window that was shattered and looked out, a bit unsure as to where Rivet had escaped to.

Ratchet and Talwyn laid beside each other in bed, having moved to the bedroom following their make out session which moved into making love. Talwyn, happy at what took place, whereas Ratchet was in thought. "What's on your mind?" Talwyn broke the silence, as she propped herself up and looked at Ratchet. "What did I do…." Ratchet spoke, his eyes focused on the ceiling.

"Well….we had sex." Talwyn smiled and Ratchet looked at the markazian "And it was good." She giggled a bit. "No, Tal….I cheated…." Ratchet spoke up "No….she…she cheated on you and turnabout is fair play!" Talwyn argued "I don't know if she cheated Tal, and is that what this was about?" Ratchet asked "Well. No…you know how I feel about you…." Talwyn started and Ratchet got up

"Ratchet…." Talwyn started as the lombax got dressed "I need answers Tal….and if it's true….you can have me…" Ratchet said and Talwyn looked at him "I don't want you just cause things didn't work out with her, I want you to want me to…" Talwyn started "I'm not arguing Tal." Ratchet said and he exited the room and went downstairs to the room he assumed was Tiffany's. He opened the door slowly and saw all the sophisticated tech that the terronian markazian had. "You can't just…." Talwyn showed up in the doorway but stopped herself when she remembered her conversation with Tiffany. "She…said she was a dimension hopper….that…her life's story wasn't important." Talwyn said as she looked around.

Ratchet noticed on a screen that Tiffany had her location marked "She went back…." Ratchet observed "Went back?" Talwyn asked "To her dimension. Rivet's probably there too." Ratchet said grabbing a set interdimensional orbs. "They're one way. One to get us to. The other to get us back. Seems you need some answers too…" Ratchet spoke and Talwyn looked at him, then the tech before nodding. Ratchet activated the orb and the two were overtaken by a blast of purple light, taking them to the dimension Tiffany was from.

Rivet ran through the streets of Terronia, having flashbacks to when she and Ratchet first arrived on this planet months ago. Arriving in a shipyard she was cautious to avoid detection by any Terronians who were patrolling the grounds. She managed to steal a key card to a ship off a Terronian as she snuck by. She read the card to id the ship she intended on taking. Once ID'ing it, she went over and climbed inside discreetly. She hesitated before activating it, as starting up the ship would give away her position.

Roman was nearby having walked to the shipyard, knowing it was the only reasonable spot Rivet would have ran to. Rivet looked up and saw the large terronian making way into the shipyard. "Can't stay here…." Rivet said and she started up the ship, grabbing the attention of the terronians in the shipyard "We got a breach! Ground that thing!" A terronian spoke and the reptilians began shooting at the ship. Rivet quickly put in coordinates "Let's hope you're home…." She said as she ship began to take off. "GROUND IT!" The terronian continued and the group concentrated their fire on the thrusters. Roman had caught up and he threw one of the smaller terronians aside before reaching in his pocket and tossing a tracker on the ship just as Rivet took off in the stolen ship. "Roman…." The terronian calling shots spoke. Roman simply held out his clawed hand and the terronian granted him a key card. Pointing him in its direction. Roman made his way over, unlocked the ship and connected his tracking device before pursuing Rivet.

SARTANA

Rivet had landed near Millie's home and ran up to the door, quickly pounding on it. The door opened and revealed the soft-pink furred lombax "Rivet? What's going on? Why didn't you just use the dimensionator, why didn't you call?" Millie asked "Millie, it's really. Really complicated. Can I come in?" Rivet asked and Millie nodded stepping aside so Rivet could walk in "What's going on?" Millie asked closing the door. "More girl talk? I told you, you should just focus on you right now…" Millie continued "No…I mean kinda, I messed up, like really messed up!" Rivet started "What happened…." Millie asked "There was a markazian, and she's friends with Ratchet's ex, and she was trying to break us up, but turns out she works for Archon, yeah, he's alive at least, I think. And…." Rivet was cut off by the door being kicked open, Roman.

The two lombaxes looked and Roman unholstered his shotgun, quickly aiming towards Millie, who acted fasted and picked up the coffee table to block the shot. It was a nonlethal round however instead blasting Millie across the room. Roman then flicked a switch on the shotgun and aimed towards Rivet, this shot was lethal in Rivet's eyes as she quickly dove behind cover avoiding a shot. And then running down the hall. Roman in pursuit but not running, The large terronian had simply walked in his pursuit of Rivet.

Completely unarmed, Rivet knew she couldn't take on the massive Terronian without being shot or killed her only option was to run and try and outsmart him. Suddenly, and very narrowly in response Rivet dodged a door that was thrown at her by Roman. "What the hell…." Rivet said as she looked back to see the terronian walking her way, but not before he destroyed the doorway. Rivet resumed running, and quickly down a flight of steps leading to the back door. She looked back and saw Roman at the top of the stairs. She used her metal arm to pull apart the staircase, seemingly leaving Roman with no way down. Roman however jumped to the bottom and Rivet swung back around to see "Oh come on!" She said as she threw her hammer only for Roman to knock it aside and continue walking Rivet's way.

Rivet ran out the back door and barricaded it with some backyard items before looking around to see where she could go, but she was out of time, the door burst open and Roman walked through and cornered Rivet. The female lombax looking around but realizing she was out of running room. Roman aimed his shotgun "LOMBAX….." He said and Rivet looked at him wondering why he wouldn't shoot. Roman holstered his weapon and extended his hand. "COME WITH ME….." Roman spoke. "What?" Rivet questioned. Before Roman could respond he was knocked out with the heavy double bladed omniwrench that Millie used, the weapon flying back to Millie. "COME ON!" She said and Rivet followed the larger lombax to her ship "We gotta find my brother, his people gotta know…and you….tell me everything…." Millie said as the duo left the planet.
