Hi, everyone! Sorry for the long hiatus of this story. A long time ago, I was working on the old version of this chapter when the app glitched on me and ruined my chapter. But now thanks to the new update, I can now work on all of my stories without any trouble. Here is the new and improved next chapter of my most popular fanfic on this site, "The Day I Went to Equestria". In the last chapter, Twilight told Spike he couldn't see Rarity ever again because of what he did which destroyed him a great deal. That is until Kaleb and my former friend's OC Kohei told her to know the real story before rushing to judgement. Now filled with guilt, Twilight now decides to go with the two to talk to her friend. How will this go? Let's find out, shall we? Disclaimer: I DO NOT own MLP: FIM or any other OCs or characters. I only own Kaleb.
Chapter 26: Making Things Right
Back in Spike's room, the baby dragon was still sitting on his bed with his head lowered. He sighs in defeat.
"Who am I kidding?" He thought, "Nopony will forgive me. Not after what I did. Oh, sure Kaleb might forgive me. But I know Twilight won't. She made that very clear."
Suddenly, he heard his door slowly creak open. He turned to see who was coming in. He saw Kohei, and to his surprise, Kaleb and Twilight.
"Kohei?"
"Hey, Spike. These two would like to speak to you." Kohei said.
"Hi, Spike." Said Kaleb.
"Hey, Kaleb."
Spike then heard Twilight clear her throat and turned to her. She forced a nervous smile. When Spike saw her, his expression went from surprised and confused to angry.
"Oh. It's you." He said with spite.
Twilight chuckled nervously.
"Um... H-Hi, Spike." She said.
The dragon turned away with his eyes closed and his arms crossed.
"Hmph!"
Twilight's smile disappeared and she sighed in defeat.
"Spike... Please listen to me." She said, trying to reason with her friend.
"Why should I?!" Said Spike, bitterly.
Twilight was about to say something when Kaleb spoke up
"Listen, Spike, Twilight knows that you're angry. But unless you hear her out, nothing will be right. Think about not only Twilight, but Rarity as well. Do you really think she would want you to be bitter towards one of her friends?" He asked.
Spike sighed and turned around.
sigh* I guess you're right, Kaleb."
Twilight was about to say something when Spike held up two claws.
"But you've got two minutes!" He told her, sternly.
Twilight looked at Kaleb who nodded. Then she turned back to Spike.
"Okay. Spike, I... I just need you to know that I now know the truth about what happened. The WHOLE truth. And after talking to Kaleb and Kohei, I realize now that I was wrong for what I said to you. I made you feel more horrible than you already did and that's not what someone is supposed to do to someone else. *sniff* You have every right to be ticked at me. I wouldn't blame you if you hate me now. I just need you to know that... I am so very very sorry." Twilight finished as she started to tear up.
Suddenly, Twilight felt a hand on her head. She slowly looked up to see Spike smiling sadly.
"I don't hate you, Twilight." He said, "Just because I was upset at you doesn't mean I hate you. Nothing could make me hate you. You're one of the most nicest ponies I know and love. And even though I can't see Rarity anymore, I still have you to cheer me up."
The baby dragon pulled his friend into a hug which she returned. They heard someone clear their throat. They turned to see Kohei with a look that said "Tell her now, Spike." Spike nodded and broke the hug. He sighed as he began to tell the truth. He told Twilight about how he met this guy named Johnny Black and how he told him that Rarity found someone else to love and how he gave him something called a record crystal and about the kiss he heard.
"That's the story."
"Wow. That's just... terrible. Terrible! It sickens me to my stomach. Why would anyone in their right mind do anything to turn you against me?" Kaleb asked.
Suddenly, Kohei spoke up.
"To kill you."
The trio turned to him.
"Huh?" They said in unison.
The draconian nodded.
"It's true." He began, "The Laughing Coffin is working with the one Kaleb wants to defeat; the evil Queen Chrysalis. And to make matters worse, she and the God of Mischief Loki have joined forces along with other villains from other universes to try and kill him so Chrysalis can take over Equestria."
Kaleb gritted his teeth.
"Damn it! I should've known. Chrysalis is gonna try everything in her power to kill me. And worse she's not only got an organization of killers at her hooves, but other villains as well. I don't know if Equestria's forces would be enough to take them on. Heck, I don't even know if I will be enough to take them on myself. There has to be... something! But what?" He thought.
Then it hit him. His eyes widened and he got a determined look.
"I've got it!"
He then looked at his friends.
"I know what we're gonna do." He said.
"What do you mean?" Asked Spike.
"What do I mean? I mean I know how we're going to stop Queen Chrysalis once and for all. We're not gonna only rally every one of Equestria's forces, but we're also gonna have help from the vikings, the Norse Gods, and Earth's forces as well. I feel that maybe if we combine forces with Equestria and possibly Earth too, Queen Chrysalis and those other villains possibly wouldn't stand a chance." Said Kaleb.
Twilight, Spike, and Kohei thought about it.
"I don't know. This plan sounds... crazy." Twilight said.
"So crazy..." Spike began.
"It just might work." Kohei finished.
"That's the spirit!" Said Kaleb.
They all discussed their plan on how they were going to warn everyone of Queen Chrysalis' plan to take over Equestria and how they were going to rally Equestria's and Earth's forces together to stop Equestria's conquest from happening.
"Kaleb?"
"Yeah?"
"Just how do you know that Earth's military forces would want to help Equestria? Don't you think they might find this a little... strange?" Twilight asked.
"Well, we never know until we try right?" Said Kaleb.
Twilight nodded with a small smile.
"Right."
She then noticed that Spike was walking towards the door.
"Where are you going, Spike?" She asked.
The dragon turned to his friend with a serious look.
"I'm gonna make things right with Rarity. She needs to know the truth. I know she might get mad at me after what I did, but if I don't tell her, who will? Plus, I need to warn her about what we just discussed." He told her.
He heard footsteps coming toward him. He turned to see Kaleb.
"You're not going it alone." He said, "As your friend, it's my job to help you any way I can. And I just hope that Rarity forgives you after she hears you out."
Spike chuckles nervously.
"Heh heh. Never know until we try, right?"
"Right."
Spike got a determined look and opened the door. He walked out with Kaleb following. Once they were outside, Kaleb and Spike looked at each other, nodded, and flew off towards the Carousel Boutique.
Meanwhile, Rarity had just finished a new design for one of her dresses she was making for her friends for the Grand Galloping Gala. Sweetie Belle was fast asleep in bed. The fashionista unicorn looked at work, admiring it with pride.
"Well, Ms. Rarity, you have surely outdone yourself this time. Now if I can only think of an outfit for Spike and Kaleb." She said to herself.
No sooner had she spoken when she heard a knock at her door.
"Now who would be knocking on my door this late in the evening?" She wondered.
She walked towards her door. When she opened it, sure enough, there was Kaleb and Spike standing there. Spike had a look of guilt.
"Oh, hello, Spike. Hello, Kaleb." She greeted, "What brings you two here?"
Spike looked back at Kaleb who nodded. He turned back to Rarity.
sigh* "Rarity, Kaleb and I are here because I... I need to tell you something. It's really important. I've... *gulp* done something... awful." He said.
"Whatever do you mean?"
"What I mean is... I... attacked Kaleb."
Rarity gasped a little.
"You attacked Kaleb?!" She asked, obviously shocked that her friend would do such a thing.
Spike nodded in shame.
"Yeah. It's true. But before you say anything, just hear me out." He began, "You see, I was gonna come over and help you with things. But thanks to some anonymous person, I found out that Kaleb got there ahead of me. And he also gave me something called a record crystal and I heard you kiss him. And that upset me so much that Kaleb and I got into a huge fight in case you couldn't tell by the bandage on his left hand. What I'm trying to say is... I hope you can forgive me for all I've done. Because... I love you, Rarity."
Rarity was even more shocked.
"You do?"
Spike nodded.
"Very much so. Yes. At first, I thought it was just some silly crush when I felt those feelings, but those feelings grew into something big and became real. I know you probably think horrible of me now, but I'm just telling you the truth. The whole truth, and nothing but the cold, hard, honest to Celestia truth." Spike finished.
Rarity didn't know what to say. She just stared at the little purple dragon whom she knew for a long time who was pouring out his heart to her all of a sudden. Spike then sighed in defeat and turned away.
sigh* "I'm sorry I made you feel uncomfortable just now, Rarity." He said, "If you don't wanna talk to me anymore, I perfectly understa-"
Before Spike knew it, Rarity turned him around to face her and to the baby dragon's surprise, Rarity was smiling. And not only that, he also noticed some tears running down her face.
"Oh, Spikey-wikey. I forgive you for all you've done. And even though what you did was wrong, nothing could ever make me hate you." She told him.
Spike then smiled sadly.
"And you want to know something else?"
"What?"
All of a sudden, the white unicorn brought him close and kissed him on the lips. And sure enough, Spike found himself kissing back. Kaleb was happy that they made up and confessed to each other. Soon enough, the two broke the kiss and looked into each other's eyes.
"I love you too. With all my heart." Rarity said.
Kaleb then realized he almost forgot something.
gasp* "I almost forgot something!" He said, "Spike, do you remember what we were going to tell Rarity?"
Spike turned to him.
"What? Oh! Yeah."
He turned back to Rarity.
"Kaleb and I also came here to warn you about something." He told her.
"Warn me about what?" Asked a confused Rarity.
"We came to tell you that Queen Chrysalis is back and that she has other villains helping her." Kaleb said.
The unicorn was surprised and angry.
"That vile creature is back?"
"Yeah. And to top it off, she plans on taking over Equestria with an army of villains. Unless we rally our forces and create an army of our own to counter hers. But first we need to tell everyone and prepare them. You want to help us?" Spike asked.
Rarity got a determined look and nodded.
"If it means being rid of that monster Chrysalis once and for all, then I'm in. And I'll be damned if someone like her takes over Equestria and enslaves us all. I'll NEVER let that happen and I know you won't either." She declared.
"That's exactly right." Said Kaleb.
"Rarity?"
"Yes, Spike?"
"I was wondering if tomorrow you could... go out with me?" Spike asked, a little nervous.
Rarity smiled and kissed him on the cheek.
"Oh, Spike. I've been waiting for somepony to ask me that for a long time. Somepony I truly love." She said.
Rarity broke the hug.
"So... See you tomorrow then?" Asked Spike.
"See you tomorrow, Spikey-wikey. Goodnight. Love you."
"Love you too."
Rarity closed her door and Spike and Kaleb looked at each other.
"That was a very brave thing you did just now, Spike." Kaleb said.
"I know. And to be honest, it felt great. I mean I'm surprised that she loves me back despite us being so different." Said the dragon.
"It doesn't matter if you two are different or not. You love each other and that's all that matters. Don't ever forget that, okay?"
"Okay. And I'm sorry for hurting you." Spike apologized.
"Water under the bridge. And by the way, having wings is pretty cool and badass." Kaleb stated.
"You really believe that?"
"Yeah."
Spike yawned.
"Well, I better get back to the castle before Twilight worries about me." He said.
Kaleb nodded.
"Yeah, I better get home too before Rainbow and Gilda get worried too." He said.
They each said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. Little did they know, Kohei was watching them from the distance with a satisfied look.
"You do care about your friends very much, Kaleb. And I commend you for that. Maybe you will be a worthy successor." He said.
Author's Note: Phew! That took me months to complete. But despite that, I got it done. Sorry it took me so long. I have now officially finished the first arc in The Day I Went to Equestria I like to call "The Beginning Arc". And I'll be looking forward to doing more of this story and my other stories in the future. Anyway, please be sure to read, review, and share this story. And keep watch for the next chapter. Constructive feedback is welcome. Until then, see ya later, my fellow bronies and pegasisters!
