(Iwatodai Dorm - Persona 3)
How the hell did I get stuck doing this? It's almost the third week of September and next week marks the start of the Evergreen tournament. I can't compete because I'm an elite student. Though today was the final meeting in planning everything out, I'm upset because I have to stay late to map out the finer details. I'm stuck here with two fire dogs: Kai and Percival and Professor Tailside.
"Kai if you would go over what is planned for the week and what dean Lumino passed," Tailside asked.
"On Monday and Tuesday, we'll have qualifying matches of round-robin fights to knock two thousand to a simple one-hundred twenty-eight students. After that, we will have a single-elimination tournament which will take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday" Kai yawned here and there while explaining.
"Percival if you would go over the rules," Tailside asked.
"If you lose twice in the round-robin you are out and you are not allowed to use items in the first stage of the tournament. In the second stage, you are allowed items including mega stones, Z-Crystals, and fusion crystals. For now, Dynamax crystals and bands are banned since we do not have a power spot. You are allowed to mega evolve and use a Z-Crystal simultaneously, but those are the only two that can be used in tandem" Percival slumped on the desk.
"I'm sorry but I don't agree with that" Kai interrupted.
"Why is that?" Tailside asked.
"I know it's reliant on how much one's body can take to use so much power at once but it's unfair, you should only be restrained to one ultimate power per match" Kai explained his argument.
"Does anyone oppose this idea?" Tailside eyed the room.
"I don't care, I'm not even fighting" Percival leaned back in his chair.
"I challenge, it is reliant on their strength and if they deem the situation necessary" I argued.
"Well since we are at a tie on this topic we will settle it with a match" Both Kai and I looked at Tailside alarmed. "However let's go over the last thing so the fight is the last thing we do tonight, it's almost midnight" It was my turn to read the last section.
"Since it is homecoming week we will have a parade on Saturday during the day and at night there will be a dance to celebrate with a DJ, food, games, and drinks" We all nodded to what I said.
"Now you two go to the locker room and prepare for the fight while I set everything up. Percival, you can go home if you want" Percival instantly left the room followed by Tailside. After sending a glare Kai's way I made my way to the locker room. You may say me being hostile to Kai is unearned but everything he stands for is an act. Only if I wasn't working for my boss would I be able to let loose. I have to act with the power of a student and I'm restrained with the power of the dark crystal. As long as I follow his rules I can continue my dreams and my family won't be held hostage. I grabbed my muscle band and tied it around my arm. Going out to the stadium Kai was already waiting for me. And we were met with the bright stadium lights centered on us.
~Kai's~

"If the two of you are ready, I will begin the countdown," Tailside said as we took our spots in the stadium's center. I can't lose to Fang. I made sure to grab my mega stone in case I had to use it. "Beginning count down: 3 . . 2 . . 1, Begin!" Tailside announced. We both charged at each other and clashed with Iron Tail and the sound of metal rang through the stadium. Fang used the momentum and flipped back, knocking me back against my will. Out of his fur, he disappeared rocks and they became invisible and enlarged themselves. He's already using stealth rock.
"If you think some invisible stones can stop me, think again" A flare vortex appears around the battlefield trapping us in a flame vortex. With the light of the flames, I'm able to see the invisible rocks. Taking my chance I charge on and attack Fang multiple times with Iron Tail and he takes it until I smash him into one of his hidden rocks. I backed up a fair distance as he got up from my attack.
"It's not the invisible stone you should be afraid of" Jagged rocks then appeared from the ground trapping me inside. Damn it he caught me off guard and I can't move. He started stalking towards me with a red glint in his eyes. I then produce as much fire energy as I could and it causes a flash of light from me and then flames seep out from me in every direction. Forcing a massive explosion to ensue blowing all the stones away. In the aftermath, I was left in a crater of my own creation. I was out of breath, that move was strong enough to strip me of my typing for a short amount of time.
"A little explosion will not stop me!" Fang started charging at me and I could visibly see some scorch marks on his fur. He blitzed at a high speed. Must've been accelrock. Didn't hurt as a normal rock attack would. He kept attacking and moving at high speeds. I couldn't keep up with his movements. " I hope you like this because this is my special move Rocky Blitz" After his quick strikes he slid back and charged at me for a finishing strike.
"I won't let you" I used all three other moves and now I'm a normal type this will do more damage. I whip my tail around, and a massive star forms in Fang's direction.
"That won't stop me" I was trapped in more rocks again and Fang tore through the star striking me.
"Vitals are in from Kai's ORB, the winner is Fang Blister" Professor Tailside announced as I came in contact with the stadium floor. I then heard footsteps coming my way and saw Fang.
"Seems like I win and the bill will be passed so that the students can use multiple ultimate powers" He then walked off.
~Percival's~
I decided to look for something to do instead of watching the match between Fang and Kai. As much as I wanted Kai to win I knew he wouldn't. Not saying he's at a disadvantage but anyone can see he has a blockage going on. Confirming my suspicion I got notified of their match and Fang was the winner.
"No surprise there" I sighed. Though I know he'll get stronger because he has such a greater purpose in this world we live in he just doesn't know. As I was walking through the multiple stadiums we have I saw a cotton ball in one flying around and seemed to be practicing on her own. "What's a cute puff ball like you doing out here so late," I said with a snarky tone. I definitely caught her attention. She flew down to me and puffed her cheeks out like she was angry.
"What's your deal?" she yelled. " I'm training for the evergreen tournament and if you want to do good you should too" she scoffed.
"No need to be hostile. Thought I'd say hi" I put my hands up lazily, mocking her.
"Well, since you're here you could make yourself useful and spar with me" She walked to the center of the stadium and I followed.
"Sure, but let's make this interesting if you lose you accept a gift of mine" I teased as she didn't know what she was getting into. She opened her ORB screen and set up an informal match and I got sent an invite and accepted.
(Keves Battle - Xenoblade Chronicles 3)A/N: Percival's New Theme
"Informal match between Rebecca Lance and Percival Grimwater" the automated voice stated.
"Nice to meet you Percival but please call me Ace" She had a smirk. I like her.
"Call me Percy you earned it" I got in a fight stance and so did she.
"3 . . 2 . . 1, Battle Begin!" The automated voice stated. She took to the sky and fired a blast of purple energy. She likes to keep it long-range.
"You have thirty seconds till you lose so try what you want while you can" I sent a glare her way.
"You arrogant bitch!" She then shot a massive bolt of dragon energy into the sky. It then dispersed into many meteors falling from the sky.
"I guess you are forcing my hand but you still have twenty seconds" I start charging in so I don't get hit by the meteors. She started doing the same and came flying in my direction. As she is flying at me a light formed in her wings similar to that of the moon. When she came in close she unleashed the energy on me. With her coming straight at me I used her momentum against her and dodged to her left.
"Damn I missed. I won't miss next time" She realigned herself as the meteors came crashing into the stadium. I made sure to dodge them and started activating my special fighting ability. Flames started to dance at the edge of the stadium and illuminate it further.
"Your time is almost up, you have ten seconds" This is her last chance before I forcefully bestow her with a gift she needs. She growled as she came flying again and this time there was no energy gathered around her. She came straight at me and grabbed me with her cloud-like wings.
"Here's a move I learned from a prior friend" She turned us around so she was flying upside down and smashed me into the ground doing a backdrop but that wasn't all. "You like that a backdrop mixed with earthquake" She sounded cocky as I was forced into the crater on the stadium floor. The meteor shower ended. I then got up and shook all the debris off my fur and looked at her.
"Times up, game over!" I shouted as the flames around the stadium started to close in. For fire, they flowed like waves of the ocean. Ace was confused as the flames formed a cyclone around her. "Tremble in fear!" I then charge in and bite and kick and flail her around in the cyclone. Play Rough is one of my favorite moves and is very effective. "Time for the finisher!" The cyclone completely encases her and raises her into the sky. With a quick bark, the cyclone trapping her turns into a water bubble. Hearing her screams keeps me going. More flames appear around me and I charge past her. "Oceanic Flare!" As I land on the ground I hear a thud and a splash. The flames disperse into the waves and you hear the sizzle of the two elements together.
"Winner from the Aces class Percival Grimwater" The automated voice reported. I turned around to face Ace.
"The odds were stacked against me from the beginning," She said through gritted teeth.
"Now you noticed" I chuckle a bit. "Now for your prize" I walked over to her.
~Nexus's~
I decided tonight would be a great idea to invite some friends over to celebrate the soon start of the Evergreen tournament. It's Saturday night and I asked for Kai's permission when he came back from his late-night meeting. I invited Corrode, Sydney, Percival, Fang, and Jai from the Elite class. I also invited some of Kai's friends Pollon, Nix, Luna, and Angel. We have a huge living room and kitchen so it would be easy to host a little get-together. I asked for Kai's help in making snacks and as reluctant as he was at first he made some homemade tortilla chips, salsa, taco salad, banana pudding, and pinap tea. Watching him cook using his own flames was an interesting sight. I grabbed games, cleaned up our room, and changed my clothes.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Kai asked with a side glance.
"Too late to say the parties off and go change you're still in your shorts from this morning," I told him. He sighs and heads to his room to change. When he left I let out a breath I was holding, can you blame me he's so cute. A knock snapped me out of my trance and I went to answer the door. Behind it was Pollon, Nix, and Luna.
~Nix's~

Been here for a bit over an hour and no sign of my little bro. Not surprised after the summer he didn't want to socialize much. Others also appeared at this little party and I troubled myself enough to introduce myself. The jolly Nidoking makes me a bit sick. Sydney seems cool, would love to hang out with her. We even have the popular Jai with us though he showed no interest in anyone. Fang seems flat-out dangerous and Percival seems a bit two-faced but I don't know why I feel that way. Though we all have been eating and drinking, having a good time. I know Kai can hear us and yet he won't join.
"Maybe you should bring him out here" I was approached by Nexus who seemed a bit nervous.
"Who?" I decided to play dumb and Nexus was caught off guard.
"Kai, he's been in his room this whole time" There was a bit of a blush on his scales.
"Don't worry, Pollon is already doing what you asked" I gestured to Pollon walking into Kai's room. "Maybe you should tell him you like him, that'll change his tune" I chuckled as I walked past him. As I did I met eyes with Jai and he sent a glare my way as if he heard my words. I made my way to the couch and sat beside Luna who was racing Percival in Mario kart.
"I win, yes!" Percival cheered and Luna let out a sigh. She then turned to me.
"Causing trouble?" She asked, taking the drink I had in my hands.
"Not too much, just enough to keep things interesting" I smiled.
"Alright after that warm up the four of us should race" Percival pointed to Luna, Jai, and me.
"You're on" Jai joined us on the couch and grabbed a controller and I followed suit.
~Nexus's~
(Circhester Theme- Pokemon)
After talking to Nix I went to the kitchen and started talking to Fang, Corrode, and Sydney. Fang is actually nice at least when he wants to be. After our match together he has been a whole lot nicer to me and the class however it seems he and Kai still butt heads. I then noticed Kai's door opened and Pollen came out and joined the crew on the couch. A few seconds later Kai came out and he was in a nice red polo with white cargo shorts. I walked over to him as he hesitantly looked around. Though no one paid attention to him.
"Nice of you to finally join us" I tease him a bit.
"You're lucky I'm even out here" He grumbled and walked past me to the snack we had on the table and noticed there was some alcohol cause I could see his eyes widen. "Nexus why did you bring this out?" He turned around distraught.
"Calm down everyone has been drinking tonight. Plus Luna is too and she is student council president" I said as a defense. Not going to tell him I'm four drinks in. He let out a sigh of defeat and joined the others. I'm glad that everyone was having a fun time and we kept at our little part late into the night. Playing truth or dare, spin the bottle, even strip poker. My highlight of the night is when I spun the bottle and landed on Fang. He blushed instantly as I kissed him. However I was a bit disappointed that the game ended before I could land on Kai. Our little party went on till two in the morning and eventually everyone left and it was just Kai and me. I could tell his head was spinning while sitting on the couch and I cleaned up our mess and joined him on the couch. He was watching a recorded match of Tyler vs Team Inferno in the Chroma League. It took a second for him to speak.
"What does it mean to be strong?" A simple question he asked me and yet it held so much weight. I wasn't sure how to answer. "How does one go about reaching answers and showing their true strength?" I saw a tear slide down his cheek. I did the first thing that came to mind and I wrapped myself around him trying to comfort him. "Nexus I'm sorry" Those words mean so much yet I don't understand why. Is it because I was drinking?
"Why are you sorry?" I asked.
"I was so scared of myself that I've been pushing you away. I was so scared of what happened that I haven't given you a chance. You seem so familiar to me yet I don't know why. If you knew everything about me like Ace and Angel then you would leave-" I cut him off by slamming my lips into his. It was a passionate kiss. One that I've wanted to do for so long. Something my younger self couldn't be brought to do. I was surprised Kai didn't reject me; he melted into the kiss. Slowly the kiss broke.
"There have been so many things I wanted to say to you and there are things that need to be shared but it doesn't have to be now" I said to comfort him. We stayed on the couch, me holding him as you heard light sniffles.
"Nexus?" His voice was hesitant as I was right next to him.
"Yeah" I responded.
"Can we stay like this tonight?" He sounded scared.
"Yeah, as long as you want" I held him close.
Action: Kai is slowly breaking his walls down. Also what is Kai hiding?
Kai: Shut up.
Nexus: In the earlier chapter if you remember the dad and he also mentioned he was friends with Angel and Ace.
Kai: Stop breaking the fourth wall.
Fang: Already done you idiot.
Angel: Will we ever reach the truth when it comes to what happened over the summer?
Zeek: Or what happened between me and Kai?
Corrode: I'm curious too.
Ace: Guys you are forgetting I made my official debut today.
Percival: No one cares.
Nix: Agreed.
Action: Though now we have the whole main cast introduced officially in this book.
Luna: Now we can move forward.
Pollon: Don't forget to fav, follow, and review.
