Much to Jonathan's expectations, no one came into the forest to interrupt his training.

He managed to find several different targets of varying sizes to experiment on. For the whole afternoon, Jonathan tested the distance he could activate his sharingan genjutsu. When he wasn't using it, he trained his mind and body to match the speed at which he was predicting other organisms' movements.

In Jonathan's heart, he truly understood why the creators of this world highly favoured the Uchiha clan. It wasn't just because of their prowess. It was also because of their very uniqueness in using the sharingan.

When Jonathna's chakra had depleted to low levels, he stopped his training. He had been maintaining the sharingan's state for hours. Though he spent the whole evening practicing, he hadn't fully perfected the sharingan nor its other abilities. He had only gained control over it. This was an important step for Jonathan. If he couldn't understand the technique, he wouldn't dare risk using it in battle.

By the time the clouds dispersed to reveal a full moon, he grabbed his fishing pole and headed to the nearest body of water. Jonathan was prepared not to eat if he couldn't catch anything. Fasting was not a problem. As he hadn't eaten since the night he left the orphanage.

The only bait Jonathan could muster was a few worms hidden underneath rocks. He had fished before on earth, so this was nothing new. To be frank, Naruto Uzumaki around four or five would go and fish around the Leaf by himself like it was a common thing. It took Jonathan only a few minutes until a fish was finally reeled in. He couldn't identify the species but knew the size was more than enough to fill him till the morning. For a body this small, its stomach required very little to be filled.

Jonathan spent the next hour fishing, catching roughly two more fish. Because of the third fish's size, he released his second catch back into the water. Jonathan piled up some sticks and twigs together and prepared the fish. With just his bare hands, he gutted them both out. He didn't need things like a knife or a kunai. He had chakra at his disposal.

There was a reason Jonathan hadn't grabbed things like oil and a lighter for the forest. He was looking to verify something. Activating his sharingan, Jonathan began. First snake, then ram, monkey, boar horse and lastly, tiger. Inhaling first, Jonathan exhaled a sizeable flame right on the sticks. It immediately caught on fire. Jonathan was by no means surprised by this occurrence.

Most if not all Uchiha had an affinity for the fire element. Because he had acquired Uchiha DNA as well as the sharingan, Jonathan had met the qualifications. Mix that with his advanced chakra control and knowledge of this world, performing the jutsu was effortless. When Sasuke learned of the jutsu, it took him a whole week to perfect it. The thing was, he was able to release the jutsu on his first attempt. Had Jonathan added more chakra to it, he could have expanded the size of that fire ball.

Jonathan ate his meal without any disturbance. At times, the smoke would attract unwanted animals, but they never bothered to approach him. Had they dared, Jonathan had enough chakra to fend them off. This is what separated Jonathan from others. He always took everything into account. After coming to this world, that now included his chakra reserves.

Without the hokage's watchful eyes, Jonathan was free to stay in the forest for as long as he needed. But that wasn't Jonathan's plan. He knew the events that would unfold within the next few years. The more important characters had already been born.

While the notable ones like Kakashi Hatake, Jonathan was aware of what someone like him was doing. Kakashi was in the Anbu Black Ops. The fact that the nine-tails attacked only meant that Obito Uchiha had already met Madara Uchiha and formed the Akatsuki organization. If Jonathan wanted, he could easily go and kill the main characters while they were still infants.

Those characters would prove to be problematic as they aged. The last thing Jonathan needed was more and more stronger ninjas growing around him while he himself hadn't reached the pinnacle of his potential yet.

But by no means was he going to slay them. Jonathan may have been eager to escape this world by any means necessary, but he was by no means a fool. Killing certain characters would alter the timeline far too much. Jonathan's biggest advantage was knowing what was going to happen prior to it. Around this time, the creators of the series hadn't filled a lot of the gaps. Jonathan deduced that things would flow naturally as long as he didn't intervene too much.

His only outlier now was Izumi Uchiha. Her mother was alive during the Uchiha massacre that would occur seven years from now. Without her mother, he was interested in knowing if she would undergo a change or not.

Jonathan took a bite of the fish. Its lack of flavour hadn't bothered him in the slightest. He sat there thinking of Izumi Uchiha. After acquiring the sharingan, Jonathan had always thought of how he could advance it. Even if he had an Uchiha's DNA, it was never written how or what a non-Uchiha could do to obtain the next level. Knowing that, however, didn't disappoint Jonathan. He instead gave a sinister smile, knowing that a relative of Hazuki Uchiha was still alive.

If Jonathan ever managed to unlock the next stage of the sharingan, the mangekyō sharingan, he would have no other choice to further its development to the eternal mangekyō sharingan. And the only confirmed way to do so is with a close blood relative that also had the mangekyō sharingan.

Jonathan planned to nurture Izumi as insurance.
