When Link and the others reached Vah Rudania, they parted ways with Yunobo. "Sorry guys, I wish I could help more, but..."

"You don't have combat training, and you don't have a weapon that will be effective against Ganon's monster. We understand," Edelgard finished.

"You've already helped plenty, pal," Raphael assured him.

Just then, Rudania began stirring. With the Divine Beast beginning to reactivate, Link and the Fódlani boarded Rudania.

Not a moment too soon, as Rudania began climbing the volcano once more. Fortunately, there seemed to be some sort of heat shield that kept the humans safe, even on Rudania's open upper deck. It was still very hot, but not life-threateningly so.

"Little Guy?" Daruk's spirit asked.

"Daruk?" Link answered.

"Been a while, hasn't it?" Daruk said. "I see you got yourself some new pals. But be careful. Ganon's puppet here is strong."

The party readied their Ancient Weapons as Link activated Rudania's control terminal. When he did so, the Malice on the ground formed into a new shape.

It was large—larger than the one in Ruta. Like the other, this one had no legs, its body beginning at its waist, revealing a muscular form. One of its arms were long and slender, in a long-fingered hand. The other arm was thick and covered in Sheikah technology, ending in a massive glowing sword that was not so unlike their own, except for its size and its hook-like shape. Its face, like the one in Ruta, was covered by a flat mask that contained ancient Sheikah designs, with a blue eye in its center and two protrusions rising from its top that looked like a pair of horns. Red hair sprouted from the back of its head, spreading in all directions.

"What the hell is that?" Bernie shrieked, firing her Ancient Bowcaster at it. Fortunately, the Bowcaster seemed to damage it somewhat. However, it only seemed to do enough damage to make the thing angry.

The thing—the Blight Ganon, as it would later be called—ignored Bernie and focused on Link, trying to kill him with its sword arm. Link dodged out of the way, guessing his shield would be useless against the Blight. Edelgard slashed at the arm below the blade with her two-handed sword.

Raphael tried punching the Blight. This proved to be a mistake. The Malice that comprised the Blight's body began to work its way into his gauntlets. Marianne saved him with a light spell that melted the Malice around his gauntlets and allowed him to retreat.

Link dodged another blow from the Blight. As he did so, time seemed to slow. He threw out slashes with his sword as quickly as he could, scoring several hits.

However, the Blight just seemed to regenerate from every attack they landed. Once time returned to normal, the Blight scored a hit on him with its hook. A hit that would have been fatal had Marianne not used Mipha's Grace to heal him.

"It's no good!" Raphael shouted. "We can't seem to beat this thing!"

That was when Caspar had an idea. He ran over to the control terminal. "Everyone, find something to grab onto!"

With that, he directed the Divine Beast to tilt its body, hoping to drop the Blight into the volcano's mouth.

"What are you doing?" Edelgard asked, holding onto a piece of the machine for dear life.

"We can't kill this thing with our weapons. But everything has a melting point," Caspar answered.

"He's gone crazy!" Bernadetta shouted.

"I'm a Bergliez! Crazy is in my blood!" Caspar shouted.

As Caspar planned, the Blight began to fall towards the firey crater. However, at the last moment, it caught its hook on the edge of Rudania.

Caspar came to a decision in the blink of an eye. "Tell my story!" He let himself fall to where the Blight had caught Rudania with its hook, and used his Ancient Greataxe to cleave the hook free, causing the Blight to fall into the volcano.

However, Caspar was also falling himself. So this was how he would die.

However, just as he was beginning to contemplate his impending death, an arm caught his. Caspar turned his head to see the ghost of the Goron Champion, Daruk.

As Vah Rudania righted itself, Daruk pulled Caspar up. "That was one hell of a move," Daruk said. "Caspar von Bergliez, you're as crazy as any Goron."

Everyone looked over the edge to see the Blight Ganon melting in the magma. "It won't last long," Daruk said.

Daruk turned to Link. "It's good to see you again, Brother."

"It's good to see you again too," Link told him.

"And I see you found yourself some new pals," Daruk said. "Are these, like, the new Champions?"

"There are actually more of us," Edelgard informed him. "We couldn't all climb Death Mountain safely."

"Oh ho! So you decided to raise an army against Ganon!" Daruk said. "Well, they say teamwork makes the dream work. It's good that you don't have to walk this path alone."

"I wouldn't have made it this far without them," Link admitted.

"Don't understate your contributions," Edelgard told Link. "Without you, we would never have made it off of the Great Plateau."

"Heh! That's the power of teamwork!" Daruk said.

Bernadetta thought of something. "We should probably let Yunobo know we won."

Daruk piloted Vah Rudania out of the volcano, and they found Yunobo at the head of the trail. They picked him up, and when he saw Daruk's spirit, he stared in shock. "Grandpa?"

Link did a double take. "Wait, you're Daruk's grandson?"

"I have a grandson?" Daruk asked.

"Grandpa, it's really you!" Yunobo said. "I have so many questions to ask you, I—I never thought I would actually get to meet you in person!"

"Let's go somewhere a bit cooler first," Daruk said. "I think the heat is bothering our human friends."

As Link watched Yunobo and Daruk converse excitedly, he smiled.
