A short time later, the war was over. Megatron had sacrificed himself to destroy Unicron after Starscream's speech affected the con leader. Now, it seemed, peace reigned and Autobots and Decepticons at least agreed to get along even though they agreed to disagree on some things.
Optimus was in his office on Cybertron, now that he was the leader of all Transformers. He had been the one to roll out the welcome mat for the cons to join and gave the choice to do so or not. This day, Optimus had Ben holed up in his office for a few hours when Jetfire came in to see the Prime. "Optimus, sir?" Jetfire asked upon entering the office.
"Yes, Jetfire?" Optimus asked calmly, curious as to what brought Jetfire hear.
"Lancex said he wanted to talk with both of us" Jetfire replied, a bit nervous.
"Alright, let's go" Optimus answered. He was a bit nervous too but didn't show it.
Both soon made their way to where Lancex was. "I understand that you wanted to talk with us" Optimus said.
Lancex nodded. "I no longer want to go back to my original realm. There is little to nothing for me there. I want to remain here. However, there are some things of mine that are important to me that are in that other dimension. Would you be willing to help me move my stuff from there to here?"
Relieved to hear the question, Jetfire answered first, "Absolutely, we would love to help you."
"And it would give us a chance to ask Dirt boss if he would bless this union since he is the only family you have left that we can ask. The only question is how to get back to that dimension" Optimus answered. Lancex was happy to hear that they were willing to help, but Optimus had brought up a good point.
Before Lancex could say anything, a strange orb of bright white light appeared. Lancex was a bit wary as was Jetfire, but Optimus had a feeling that this was the answer to their conundrum. "I understand that you wish to bridge dimensions yet again?" Slugbug asked, as he appeared out of the bright light.
"We do, Slugbug. If Primus is willing, please transfer us to the other dimension so that we may get the important possessions of Lancex and check in with his uncle" Optimus replied. Slugbug nodded and produced a portal. Slugbug encouraged Optimus and Jetfire to go through first and they do, but Slugbug held Lancex back for a second.
Lancex was a bit confused. "I am happy you have found a place you belong" Slugbug said to Lancex privately. Lancex smiled, thanked the bot and then headed through. Slugbug was glad that Lancex was happy and he hoped Optimus and Jetfire could handle Dirt Boss once they revealed their intentions. And with that, Slugbug vanished, waiting to be sent to retrieve them. Only time would tell if Lancex would truly be allowed to be happy.
