Chapter 5 Date Part 2
Bennet's POV
That Night
I was waiting for Fischl at the Adventure Guild's reception.
Taking my dads' advice, I was holding some Small Lamp Grasses in my hands.
"Greetings, my suitor", I heard a familiar voice say.
I turned around…and my jaw dropped.
I saw Fischl, and she was wearing a very fancy dress. She looked absolutely beautiful!
"Wow Fischl", I started. "You look beautiful!"
After I said this…Fischl blushed.
But then, she composed herself before continuing to speak.
"Thank you for the compliment, suitor", she said.
"These are for you", I revealed as I held up the Small Lamp Grasses.
Then I tried to give them to Fischl, but before I could…a strong gust of wind came…and blew them all away!
"Come back", I yelled before sighing in defeat. "Sorry Fischl."
"There is nothing that can be done about it now", Fischl stated. "Now, shall we head over to the place where we shall provide our mortal vessels with substance?"
"Huh", I asked.
"She asking if we should make our way to the restaurant", Oz clarified.
"Oh", I started. "Yeah! Let's go!"
With that, Fischl and I made our way to Good Hunter.
When we got there…it was completely packed!
"Why is this place filled to the brim with consumers", Fischl asked.
Then, I took a closer look at the notice board.
"Looks like their having a special", I revealed. "Seems like it attracted a lot of customers."
"Well this simply won't do", Fischl stated. "Now what shall we provide our mortal vessels with substance with?"
After Fischl said this, I began to think.
"I know", I replied. "Why don't I cook something?!"
"You know how to create this substance known as food", Fischl asked.
"She's asking if you know how to cook", Oz clarified.
"Well", I started. "I can cook an egg!"
"Very well", Fischl started. "I shall consume this."
"Alright", I exclaimed. "Then first things first, We need to go find ourselves some eggs!"
With that, I ran outside the city walls as Fischl followed me.
I looked around, before spotting two bird eggs in a tree.
"Got it", I exclaimed.
Then, I climbed the tree.
However, when I managed to to get to the eggs…the branch I was on snapped…and I fell to the ground!
"Are you alright, suitor", Fischl asked.
"I'm alright", I replied. "And the eggs didn't crack!"
…
I was cooking the eggs, and as I was doing so…they were suddenly struck by lightning!
"Where'd that even come from", I asked. "It's not even raining!"
"It's as the sky itself was trying to strike you with its wrath", Fischl stated.
"Anyway", I started. "The food's ready!"
With that, I handed Fischl the egg, which she began to eat.
"How is it", I asked.
"Usually the taste of food does not concern me", Fischl started. "After all, food is nothing but shackles to human flesh. However, if consuming it is something I must do in order to maintain my mortal vessel, then the food you have prepared shall suffice."
"She means that the food tastes nice."
"Really", I asked. "Thanks!"
With that, Fischl and I ate our eggs.
However, when we were done eating. Something happened.
Suddenly…it began to rain!
"Are you kidding me", I exclaimed.
"The heavens are raining down upon us", Ficshl said. "Come, let us find shelter."
…
Fischl and I were hiding under cover in the city.
"I'm sorry, Fischl", I apologised. "Not a good first impression for a date, huh?"
After I said this, Fischl…smiled?
"Do not fret", she reassured. "The events of tonight do not deter me from seeing you."
"She means that she would not mind if you continued to court her."
"Really", I asked. "Even after everything?"
"The curse that inflicts you makes you interesting to be around", Fischl said. "Perhaps another suitor would bore me."
After Fischl said this…the rain began to die down.
"The tears of the heavens is dying down", she said. "Let us bid each other adieu for the evening."
"Oh", I started. "Yeah. Goodnight Fischl!"
"Goodnight, suitor", Fischl greeted. "I shall see you on another day."
With that, Fischl ran off…and I smiled.
