"You think I'm the type of queen who wants to curse people? Come on?"

Serpci was the beautiful and seductive Egyptian Pharaoh who reigned from 3036 to 3009 B.C. Inheriting the throne when she was only 15, Serpci aimed to vanquish her enemies with her feminine wiles, rather than resorting to bloody combat. Once she came of age, she sought help and advice from priestesses and mystics all over her kingdom, and it is said that she developed magical powers, most prominently the ability to control sand. Because of this, she became known as The Sand Queen. Her reign saw numerous technological developments and a heightened interest in literature and the arts.

No one knows for sure how Serpci died in 3009. Some say she fell ill, others say she was poisoned by treacherous members of her court, and others say she enticed a poisonous snake to bite her, like Cleopatra. Nonetheless, she was only 42 when she died, and as a ghost, a bit of a vengeful streak awakened in her.

Serpci watched as her beautiful empire was reduced to a mere imperialist colony and then regained its independence just to become a tourist attraction. She was known to scare off any archeologists who dared come near her final resting place, or trick them into death traps involving snakes and sand. But for some reason, when she encountered Hellen Gravely in 2018, Serpci had no desire to harm her. Hellen explained that she had a plan to restore the ghostly pharaoh to her former glory, but she needed Serpci to do something in return.

She'd grabbed Serpci's attention.

Hellen brought Serpci to her hotel and gave her the entire tenth floor to do as she pleased, naming it the Tomb Suites. Also, Hellen asked her to guard one of the elevator buttons and to dispose of anyone who tried to take it. Serpci agreed, and for a year, she made herself comfortable in her new home.

In October 2019, Serpci was resting in the sarcophagus Hellen had made for her when she was awakened by Luigi and Gooigi. After trolling them a little by pretending to place a curse upon them and their descendants, she banished them to a room filled with lethal traps. Among these lethal traps were spiked ceilings, giant rolling stone balls, snakes constantly jumping out at Luigi, ghosts dressed as mummies, snake-shaped crossbows mounted on various walls—and worst of all, a room with poisonous gas. Thanks to Luigi's wits and aid from his two companions, he barely escaped alive.

Impressed by Luigi's escape, Serpci switched gears, offering to give him the elevator button if he became her consort. Luigi stood firm against the seduction attempt, however, and the two soon engaged in battle.

Serpci fought inside a sand mound shaped like her face, creating "snakes" to lash out at her opponent and "fists" to pound him. However, Luigi countered her with his vacuum, managing to get in close and stun her with his flashlight. While Serpci put up a good fight, Luigi managed to capture her, quipping that she was too old for him as he did.

Following the adventure, Serpci discovered that she wasn't angry with Luigi at all. In fact, she wasn't angry at anyone anymore. On the contrary, she felt awful over what Hellen had manipulated her into doing and promised to make up for it. To that end, she aided in the construction of the new hotel, and when it was finished, she hosted one of the many dinner shows offered to the patrons, an attraction which still runs today. This dinner show allows her to share some fun facts about her reign, and the guests enjoy it very much.
