A/N - Time for the War to begin :)
Crying and unable to contain himself, Naruto was holding the lifeless body of Haku in his arms. As he held her tightly, a burst of chakra formed around him.
"It wasn't supposed to be like this. I was supposed to save you, you and Zabuza. You two would come back with me to Konoha." Naruto said.
"That's the reality of war. We lose love ones as a sacrifice to get an edge over the enemy." Said the voice of a young man.
"Shut up... Just shut up!" Naruto roared as his body began to change.
"What's happening to him?" Ino asked in disbelief at seeing her teammate go through a transformation.
Naruto's once calm blue eyes, they were replaced with slits and filled with a murderous crimson. His ears pointed like a demon, along with him growing claws and fangs. Though Naruto no longer possessed Kurama inside of him, he was still able to draw on the chakra of that he was given.
However, Naruto's transformation didn't stop there. His skin began to peel and underneath, was the crimson chakra that gave him the appearance of a smaller version of Kurama. With four tails shooting out of him, his anger continued to grow.
"This is bad. Very bad." Shibi commented.
"What is he?" Zabuza asked as he took a defensive stance.
"Naruto is the Jinchuriki of the Nine tails. Well, former Jinchuriki. Kurama sacrificed his life to save the two of us and in exchange, we received his power. Naruto has currently tapped in to five of Kurama's chakra tails." Anko commented.
"We need to back away." Said a red haired woman in a blue shirt.
"So, you're a Jinchuriki too." Yagura said as he began to tap into his own tailed beast's chakra.
The raging chakra of the two of them had flared high with killing intent that would make Madara Uchiha flinch. As the two prepared to engage in combat, Naruto was currently inside his mind.
"Why? Why did it have to happen like this?" Naruto thought as he looked back on the events that led up to this moment.
Flashback
Naruto and his team, along with Zabuza and Haku had arrived at the Rebellion's main base.
"Halt! State your business!" Said a man with a black, eye patch.
"Hello, Ao. I've brought a team that's going to help us end this war, today." Zabuza said with a smirk.
"Zabuza? We heard you had been killed by the Mizukage." Ao said.
"He thought so. I managed to barley escape. Now are you going to let us in? My squad has quiet the abilities and I think you and Mei would approve." The demon of the mist said.
"Let them in." Said a voice on the other side of the door.
The six of them entered and were greeted by multiple shinobi, along with a beautiful, red haired woman.
"Zabuza? Is that really you?" Asked the woman.
"Hello, Mei. Yes, it's me. I've brought a team of Konoha shinobi who are willing to help us." Zabuza said.
"They are just kids. What good can they do?" Asked one of the shinobi.
"Excuse me, my name is Anko Mitarashi. I'm currently leading this team. I need to speak with the leader of the rebellion." Anko said in a professional tone.
"That would be me." Said Mei.
"Can we speak in private?" Anko asked the woman.
The other ninja were feeling uneasy until Mei gave a nod. The two proceeded to a back room that appeared to be Mei's office.
"I've been given orders by my Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, we are to assist you and assassinate the fourth Mizukage." Anko said.
Mei looked at her with surprise. "If only it were that easy." Mei said with a slight chuckle though he sadness was clear as day.
Anko smirked. "No worries. You see, the blond kn there. He has enough power to eliminate every single person in this room, by himself. I assume that once Yagura is killed, you'll step up as the Fifth Mizukage." Anko said.
Mei nodded her head. "Yes, we have received much support from the civilians. Though, they are too afraid to challenge Yagura." Mei declared.
"No worries. As long as you are willing to accept an alliance with Konoha. We will eliminate this threat and bring peace back to Kirigakure." Anko said with a foxy smile that was smilar to Naruto.
"I'd like to meet your team." Mei said. Anko gave her a nod and they proceeded back to the man room.
"I want you guys to introduce yourself along with declaring what you have to bring to the table." Anko ordered.
"As you all know, my name is Zabuza Mommochi. Former leader of the Rebellion. I am proficient in my silent killing technique along with wielding the executioner blade." Zabuza said.
"My name is Haku Yuki. I am proficient at the Ice Release and have further developed it into a purple crystal. I have full manipulation along with high speeds, stamina, and strength." Haku said behind her mask.
"My name is Inoichi Yamanaka. I'm the clan head of the Yamanaka clan and the father Ino Yamanaka. I am skilled in my clan's Mind jutsu along with decent taijutsu abilities." Inoichi said.
"My name is Shibi Aburame. As the clan head, I focus on my bugs and we specialize in absorbing chakra and gathering information. I'm also able to fight in long range combat." Shibi said.
"My name is Ino Yamanaka. I'm a genin from Konoha. While my Mind jutsu aren't as developed as my fathers, I'm skilled in the use of poisons and creating medicines." Ino said.
"My name is Shino Aburame. Like my partner, I too am a genin from Konoha. My bugs are different from my father's as they focus on planting themselves inside the enemy to cut off all source of chakra. I specialize in slow, defensive battles." Shino said.
"My name is Anko Mitarashi. I'm the former student of Orochimaru, one of the legendary sannin. I specialize in manipulating snakes, infiltration and Assassination." Anko said.
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze. Before any of you ask, yes. I am as descendant of the Uzumaki clan and the son of Minato Namikaze, Konoha's Yellow Flash. I'm also the Jinchuriki of Kyuubi, though it's a bit different than what you guys will expect. I have mastered the Sage Mode and can use the Swift Release Kekkei Genkai. So I guess, in a way, I'm like all of you. My senses are enhanced which will give me quite an advantage." Naruto declared.
With everything said and done, The Konoha shinobi joined Mei and the others around the meeting table where they discussed the plan. It was to perform a direct assault. Mei then requested that Naruto, Zabuza, and Haku lead the invasion. The others would provide support.
"Alright, keep this in mind. I will not go all out until I meet with Yagura. Even then, I most likely won't go out." Naruto said.
"Arrogance will get you killed, boy." Said Ao.
Naruto glared at the man. "It's not arrogance if I know the outcome. I know what I can do. Just make sure that you do your own job." Naruto said back with a bit of his killing intent being leaked.
"Alright, that's enough. Let's move." Zabuza said.
The Miri rebellion, Demon Mist Squad, and Konoha ninjas proceeded to the battlefield where the sight of many dead. Inks and civilians, from both sides, were laying.
"Halt! This is your first and only warning. Submit and turn over anyone with a bloodline." Said the Kiri Anbu.
"I don't think so." Naruto said as he, Zabuza, and Haku, along with the others charged in.
Multiple Kiri Ninja between the ranks of genin, chunin, and jonin began attacking. Even some of the Anbu joined in on the assault.
Zabuza drew his blade and began cutting down each and every person that charged at him. He showed no mercy or remorse to even the kids that were charging.
Haku was using her Crystal Release - Crystal Shards of death. The purple crystals were being fired from the palm of her hands as she was firing at the opposing ninja.
Naruto remained uninterested while using just a kunai to deflect any attacks and only struck with fatal blows when he was engaged.
Anko and the rest also joined in on the assault and before everyone, it was a massive bloody, warfare.
It didn't take long for Yagura to reveal himself along with the other Anbu he had. As he watched the seen before him, he could only shake his head. "Fools. Throwing their lives away for what?" He asked himself.
The raging battle continued on and it seemed that Konoha was right, they were exactly what the rebellion needed. Ino had taken the liberty to begin healing many of the downed civilians alongside the Kiri medics.
Anko was having the time of her life as she was eliminating the enemy ninja. "Come on, I know you guys can do better than that." Anko taunted as a Kiri ninja charged with his blade. Without a second thought, Anko flicked her kunai into the man's throat.
Naruto made he contact with Yagura. The two were glaring at each other while they both were leaking their killing intent. Before anyone could realize what happened, Yagura charged in.
Being the experienced shinobi he was, Naruto drew his blade to block the tanto that Yagura used to strike. Two other copies of Yagura appeared behind Naruto, but they found the blond was fast as he destroyed both water clones.
"I'm impressed. It seems Konoha has powerful shinobi. However, I cannot let this go unpunished. Once you are all eliminated, I will proceed to destroy the hidden leaf village." Yagura said in a calm tone.
"Haha. That's if you can get through us. We will eliminate you and bring peace back to the Land of Water." Naruto said as he charged at the Mizukage.
The two were clashing their blades along with dodging the attacks being fired off by the other ninja. Either seemed to be worried about interference.
Haku noticed an opening and decided to create a crystal clone. She learned to mix her crystal chakra with her shadow clones. This provides more durability and more damage to the foe. After creating seven crystal clones. They circled around the two and began firing off their purple crystals.
Naruto smirked but it was quickly gone after Yagura proved the ability to deflect the attacks. He even proceeded to destroy the clones. As he turned to face Haku, Naruto was in horror.
"Haku! Watch out!" Naruto shouted and when she turned around, Yagura prepared to strike until Naruto used the Hiraishin to take the stab wound through his gut.
"How foolish. Sacrificing yourself for such a weakling. It was in vein. Now you will die." Yagura said as he proceeded for the killing blow on the blond.
What shocked everyone, Haku got in the way and took the full force of the attack that pierced her heart and killed her instantly. Everything went silent. Even the fighting seemed to stop at the sight before them.
Flashback ended
Naruto charged at the Mizukage and before he could respond, Naruto appeared behind him and sent him into the air.
As the Jinchuriki of Kiri tried to prepare a jutsu, Naruto appeared over him and struck with all five tails that were currently visible. A loud roar was heard from the fox-like boy.
Forming in his mouth, a black sphere with purple, red, and blue bits of chakra were forming. Yagura noticed this and began doing the same thing. The massive chakra that was being formed between the two had nearly paralyzed everyone in fear.
"Everyone! Get back!" Shouted Zabuza as he grabbed hold of Ino, Shino, and Anko as he ran along with the others.
When the two tailed beast bombs connected, Yagura was easily sent flying away. Being knocked out of his transformed state, Naruto appeared and slashed his claws against the mage's face. This left s massive gash that didn't go unfelt.
Yagura was on one knee as he clenched his face and growled at the Kyuubi Jinchuriki who was preparing one final assault.
"Come on! Show me what you've got, demon!" Yagura shouted and in that moment, Naruto killed the fourth Mizukage with an attack so deadly, not even Hashirama's wood style would be able to stop it.
Seeing the fourth Mizukage dead at his feet, Naruto reverted back to his normal form. Anger and disgust, still evident in his body, Naruto looked at the opposing side.
"People of Kiri. I give you this one chance, one chance only. If you do not surrender, I will kill each and everyone of you." Naruto threatens.
While many of the civilians agreed, the opposing shinobi declared that they would rather die than to betray their Mizukage. Naruto chuckled and drew his Hiraishin kunai. "So be it then." Naruto said as he vanished in an orange flash.
Within mere moments, Naruto eliminated the opposing Kiri. Inks and to many of the elder shinobi, such as Ao, it was as if Minato Namikaze had returned. The ruthlessness and lack of mercy was clearly shown as Naruto killed each and every opposing ninja.
When the battle was over, Naruto dropped to his knees and passed out. Nobody could speak up due to the disbelief at the sight before them. Zabuza walked up ti the girl he considered a daughter and began letting tears of sorrow fall.
Ino, Shino, Inoichi, and Shibi remained silent while Anko ran over the the blond. She quickly began checking on him before demanding for the medics to come. Ino rushed over and began applying a basic chakra transfer tag on him.
"I need you all to help me pump chakra into Naruto! His reserves are extremely low!" Ino shouted. The surrounding shinobi rushed over and began placing their hands over Naruto.
An hour passed before Ino declared he would be okay. The blond was carried and placed in a special room that would be used for Mei if she was ever in a critical condition.
Center of Kiri
Mei Terumi, the new fifth Mizukage stood before all of her shinobi. "People I do Kirigakure! It brings joy to inform you that our civil war is over! Us with special bloodlines no longer have to remain hidden! We can freely enjoy life as we once had." Mei declared.
The people of Kiri began cheering loudly. "Dad, look at all the death? How can these people cope so quickly?" Ino asked her father.
Inoichi placed a hand on Ino's shoulder. "This is all they knew. It's not like Konoha. The people of this village have only known to kill or be killed. For the first time, they can rest without looking over their shoulder." Inoichi said.
"Good work, Gaki. I know Haku would have been proud." Zabuza said to himself as he stood next to Mei.
The Mizukage turned to face Zabuza before giving him a wink. "So what will you do? Will you go ti Konoha? Or will you stay here and help me run the village?" Mei asked in her flirtation voice.
Zabuza sighed as he looked at the Konoha ninja who gave him a nod. "Don't worry, big guy. We won't forget you." Said Anko with a cheery smile.
"Then yes. I will remain in Kiri. We will rebuild our home and completely redo our ninja curriculum. We have had too many ninja from the bloody mist. So much talent, wasted." Zabuza said.
"Sounds good. Though, we would like one favor." Anko said.
"What is it?" Zabuza asked.
"Could you guys help us in transporting Naruto back to Tazuna's house. I get the feeling they will be expecting him to arrive before we leave." Anko said.
"Of course. Zabuza, you and Ao will transport Mr.Namikaze back to the desired location." Mei ordered. Both men bowed.
Tazuna's house
Tsunami was. Urrently preparing to start lunch. Inari was in the shed with Tazuna as he was teaching him the secret behind being a carpenter.
The loud noise of the shinobi caught their attention and where shocked to see that everyone has returned.
"Anko? Is everything alright?" Tazuna asked the purple hair woman.
"Yeah. We stopped the civil war. Though, Naruto could use some rest." She said while pointing at the beaten down blond.
"Well damn! He must have fought hard." Tazuna said with pride.
"Fought hard? This boy carried the war in his shoulders. Truthfully, he was a one man show. We were pretty much there for support." Zabuza admitted.
"I see. Well, why don't you all stay for dinner. I'm sure Naruto would like to see everyone before he leaves." Tazuna said.
The shinobi nodded and proceeded to bring Naruto to a bed. A few hours passed before the blond woke up. Though everyone was in good spirits, Naruto had been broken.
"Haku. Why did you have to die? Things were supposed to be different this time." Naruto said as tears were forming. He quickly wiped his tears as he went into the kitchen and saw everyone sitting around the table.
"Naruto! You're awake!" Ino shouted as she ran up and hugged him tightly.
Naruto flinched at the pain. "Ouch, Ino. I'm still hurt." Naruto said in a playful tone.
"Naruto. You did well. We are all impressed. Ino and I were wondering if you would be willing to assist us in our training." Shino said as he extended his arm.
Naruto shook it and gave a nod. "You bet." Naruto said.
Both Inoich and Shibi walked up to him. They apologized for any doubt they had in him and that he is truly Minato and Kushina's son. Naruto smiled softly and shook both of their hands.
Zabuza walked up and ruffled his hair. "I think you're the true demon of the mist." Zabuza said with a smirk.
"Nah. Being a demon is overrated. How about something like the Orange Flash?" Naruto asked with a chuckle.
Everyone burst out in laughter. When it was time to sit around the table, Naruto sat down. Tsunami proceeded to place an extra plate for Haku until she froze.
Naruto's eyes showed nothing but sadness in sorrow at the memory of the woman he cared for. "I'm sorry, I'm not hungry." Naruto said as he stood up and left the kitchen and went outside.
Everyone remained silent. "I'm going to go talk to him." Anko said as she exited the kitchen.
"Shouldn't we go too?" Ino asked.
"No. Anko sensei and Naruto have a deeper bond than we have with him. I'm afraid if we go out there, it may only cause more harm." Shino said.
Outside by the pier
Naruto was sitting in the edge of the pier as he looked out at the sun setting. Naruto felt Anko's presence but remained silent.
Without saying a word, Anko took a seat next to her blond friend. The two stared out at the water.
"Why? Why did she have to die? I was supposed to save her this time." Naruto said.
Anko looked at the boy with a sad expression. "As a shinobi, we throw our lives on the line for those we wish to protect. It's because she wanted you live your dreams and that you were precious to her, that she sacrificed herself for you." Anko said.
Naruto nodded. "It's unfair." Naruto said as the tears were coming out faster.
Anko put her arm around him. "It's going to be okay, I promise. Remember, Kurama gave us his life. I don't think he's want to see you cry like this." Anko said with a soft smile.
"Stupid fur ball." Naruto said with a slight chuckle. The two continued sitting down and remaining silent as night came around.
In the morning time, the Konoha shinobi were speaking with Zabuza and Ao before they departed. So shook each of their hands and thanked them greatly.
"Mr.Namikaze." Ao said but was stopped by Naruto.
"Call me Naruto." Arturo said with a soft smile.
Ao nodded with a soft smile. "Naruto, we are in your debt. If you need us for anything, please reach out. Konoha has our alliance agreement and we promise that any problems your village has, we will come to your aid." Ao said.
Naruto nodded and shook the man's hand. "Tell Mei that she will be expecting a message from the Hokage. We will have some important things to discuss in the near future." Naruto said.
As Naruto, Ino, Shino, Anko, Inoichi, and Shibi walked away, Naruto couldn't help but smile. "Things are going to be alright. Haku, I know you are with me in spirit. I will become Hokage and bring peace to this ninja world." Naruto said as he proceeded to walk back to the village.
