Today was a calm and peaceful day at Station Square. Humans and Mobians were all walking around the beach, enjoying a fine lunch and loving the afternoon. The sun shone brightly in the clear blue sky. The splashing from the ocean waves sparkled in the light.

Near the shore, Cream was building a sandcastle with her very special Chao friend, Cheese. Cream was wearing a butter-yellow one-piece swimsuit with a taffy pink skirt that had a pair of white flowers on it. The two young friends were almost finished with building their sandcastle. Quite close to them Blaze was sitting in a chair underneath an umbrella with sunglasses. She wore the purple and black swimsuit she wore when she participated in the London Olympic Games, along with a pair of white gloves with furry cuffs and fuschia pink swim shoes.

Blaze pulled her sunglasses from her eyes and let out a smile with a small chuckle as she watched Cream and Cheese build their sandcastle. She reached out for a glass of punch with ice cubes from the small table next to her and took a drink. After she finished, she looked over to her left to see Silver sunbathing in another chair with his hands behind his head with his own sunglasses. She turned to her right to reach into a cooler that was filled with ice and soft drinks. She grabbed a canned drink and held it out to Silver, "Want a drink, Silver?"

Silver turned his head over to see Blaze offering him a drink, and he smiled as he used his psychokinesis to take the can and open it, "Oh, sure. Thanks, Blaze."

After Silver took a drink, he looked over at Cream and Cheese finishing up their sandcastle. Cream then pulled out a camera and took a selfie of herself and Cheese next to the sandcastle. Blaze gave a smile at the two as she spoke to Silver, "I can't imagine those two ever being apart."

"Me neither," Silver chuckled as he put his hands back behind his head, "Y'know, it's honestly hard to believe we've had a nice vacation here in Station Square and nothing's coming to ruin it."

Blaze took another sip of her drink, "Perhaps Robotnik has fallen behind on his schemes and gotten mixed up in his schedule. I have to admit, it has been quiet back in Soleanna. And I knew that Cream wanted to see us."

"Guess we were pretty lucky and chose the perfect time to relax," Silver assumed.

Blaze let her smile out again… that was until it slowly shifted into a frown as she lowered her drink and sighed, "I miss Sonic. We haven't seen him in the past months since the disbandment of our team. It seems that what had happened on the Lost Hex took a toll on him."

Silver nodded in response to this, "Yeah, the guy's changed. And as far as I can tell, he hasn't tried contacting the others at all. Guess he doesn't want to come back yet."

At that moment, something started to seem off. The beach looked like it was starting to darken as if some clouds came out of nowhere and blocked the sun. The civilians at the beach all looked around trying to figure out what was going on at this sudden change. "Hey, what's going on?" Silver asked confused, "Is there a storm coming?"

Blaze pulled her glasses off, "Strange, I was told that the weather forecast didn't say anything about clouds today."

Silver then looked up into the sky and what he saw made his eyes widen, "Uuh… that might be what's going on!"

Blaze and Cream looked up at where Silver was looking, and they gasped at what they were seeing. High in the sky, there was a massive aircraft with multiple smaller ones following behind it. It was Eggman's newly built Egg Carrier with many battleships following behind. Not only that but not too far out in the ocean from the beach, several battleships were approaching the land.

However, there was something else that caught Blaze's attention. Next to her drink on the table was a communicator watch, and it was vibrating. With a blue light flashing on the small screen, a colour that seemed to put a smirk on Blaze's face, "If the doctor's back, so is he."

Throughout Central City, the large screens were showing live footage of Eggman's aircraft fleet and battleships approaching. Civilians were watching in fear as they knew how much of a threat this could be. Above the city, the Egg Carrier hovered over it with the sound of Eggman evilly laughing as he found this to be his latest genius plan yet, "Hehehehehehehe! Hahahahahahaha! AAA-HAHAHAHAHA!"

Eggman was confident that this was the day he would achieve his dream of global domination. However, there was the sudden sound of an alarm going off, alerting the doctor. He looked forward in shock as he noticed at the very front of his Egg Carrier that there was a hole with fire blazing its way out. And right in front of it… was the hero of Mobius. The Blue Blur himself, Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sonic slowly rose from the platform to stand up straight, wearing all of his equipment along with a Power Ring on his left wrist. He had small sparks of blue lightning flickering around his body with a small blue glow in his eyes, its colour matching that of the blue Chaos Emerald. Sirens started wailing at the hedgehog's presence as swatbots and flying drones appeared from elevators on the platforms. The top cannons of the Egg Carrier all turned and aimed at Sonic. Sonic gripped his fist as his lightning and the glow in his eyes started sparking brighter. Eggman held his arm back for a moment before he swung it forward as he shouted, "FIRE!"

The cannons began firing at Sonic. Sonic started running forward dodging the explosions from the cannons. At intense speeds, he shifted left and right dodging the gunfire from the swatbots and drones. Using acrobatics and his skills in parkour, the hedgehog was moving past each incoming bullet and small missiles in slow motion. He then jumped forward and started spin-dashing into a group of swatbots, causing some of them to fly into the air and crash into a pair of drones, destroying them in the process. Still as an electric-spiky blue ball, Sonic rolled towards a super swatbot that held a giant hammer. The swatbot swung its hammer at Sonic, only for the hedgehog to slide on his knees while ducking backwards and the weapon to just miss him, before he started running all over the swatbot, causing it to lose balance and fall down, exploding in the process.

Sonic jumped high into the air and gripped his fists with the Power Ring on his wrist glowing brightly in its golden colour. He began to use his homing attack at the giant cannons, destroying each of them with each attack. Once he had taken them out, he was high in the air once again with sparks of his lightning flashing out. More elevators rose from underneath the platforms and a pair of Eggman's Egg Soldiers appeared with their advanced blasters.

The Egg Soldiers started firing their blasters at Sonic. The hedgehog gripped his fist as a glow of blue energy flowed from it before he spun around very fast and threw his arm out, releasing his Sonic Wind attack. The attack managed to knock a bunch of Egg Soldiers off their feet when it hit the platform. Sonic then landed back down and dashed at more of the soldiers, taking them down and knocking them out each with a punch or a kick. Another group of Egg Soldiers charged towards Sonic with melee weapons. The hedgehog rushed at them at high speeds when he started running around them in circles. The soldiers tried to keep track of him, but their target was moving so fast that he looked like a blue energy ring surrounding them. Sonic moved so fast that he created a tornado, causing the soldiers to float in the air, each of them freaking out in fear. In slow motion, Sonic jumped in the air and did a front flip along with a strong kick, launching the soldiers into a pair of swatbots.

A pair of drones appeared from behind a wall and fired missiles at Sonic. Without hesitation, the hedgehog dashed forward and jumped in the air with flips while quickly grabbing some of the missiles and launching them back at the drones. Landing on his feet, he turned to discover that there was now a large number of Egg Soldiers, swatbots and drones surrounding him with their weapons all aiming at him. Sonic kept his position as he waited for something to happen. The Egg Soldiers all chuckled as they believed they had Sonic right where they wanted him, but then…

KABOOM! An explosion went off by the crowd. Sonic and the Eggman army all looked to see; standing in front of the explosion were Sonic's allies, Tails, Knuckles and Amy, along with official G.U.N. agents Shadow and Rouge. All with their equipment and weapons at the ready. Knuckles' Chaos energy flowing around his fists and in his eyes was bright red, matching the colour of the red Chaos Emerald. Due to Shadow's connection to Choas energy, the colour of his energy in his eyes was orange; a colour that none of the Emeralds had, though it would change depending on what ability he used such as yellow for his Chaos Spear or blue for his Chaos Control.

Many of the Egg Soldiers, swatbots and badniks turned their guns towards the other heroes. Shadow raised his hand and fired a pair of Chaos Spears at the robots, destroying them. Sonic engaged in taking down the Egg Soldiers that were still drawn towards him. Knuckles pounded his fists with red Chaos energy glowing around them and in his eyes as he went charging towards a swatbot. The swatbot threw a punch at Knuckles, only for the echidna to duck underneath and thrust his fist through the swatbot's chest with it busting right out of the back. He then picked up the swatbot and threw it at a bunch of drones. Tails jumped in the air and used his tails to fly just as a pair of drones flew behind him. He turned and fired at them with his blaster. Some of them got destroyed while the others managed to dodge a few of the blasts. Tails then saw more drones coming at him from another angle. He quickly dropped down, causing the drones to crash into each other. As Tails landed on his feet, one of the broken drones fell towards him. He used one of his tails to smack into a pair of swatbots, taking them down.

Rouge used her acrobatics to dodge blasts from Egg Soldiers with cartwheels and backflips. An Egg Soldier attempted to whack her in the head from behind, only for the bat to block it with her arm without even looking and elbowing them in the stomach, causing them to cough in pain. She then grabbed the soldier by the arm and threw them at the other soldiers, knocking them down with the sound of bowling pins getting knocked off. A pair of swatbots appeared around her and fired their blasters at her, but Rouge managed to jump in the air and made the robots blast each other. She then grabbed her blaster from her holster and fired it at a pair of drones while also throwing explosives. Amy grabbed her Piko-Piko Hammer and used it to spin around like a tornado, whacking a pair of swatbots and Egg Soldiers in the process. The soldiers went flying onto the platform while the swatbots were destroyed by the force from the hammer. Shadow used his Chaos Control ability to teleport from enemy to enemy, knocking out soldiers and destroying more robots with his Chaos Spears.

From where he was standing, Sonic could see his arch-nemesis far up at the bridge through the window. He saw Eggman slowly standing up from his desk and turning to walk away with his hands behind his back. Once all the enemies in the area were taken down, the rest of the heroes all came in a group towards the Blue Blur.

Not too far away across the platform, several GUN aircrafts and helicopters were arriving with agents stepping out each armed with advanced weapons and equipment. Shortly afterwards, the man in charge of the organization, Commander Walters, came stepping towards the heroes. In the background in the sky, several Egg fighters came out of the other ships while GUN jets appeared from the clouds, and thus a massive air battle began.

Sonic turned around to face his friends, "Good timing. So, what's got you here, Knux?"

Knuckles, looking stern as he pounded his fists, stepped in front of the group, "The Egghead had Metal Sonic steal the Master Emerald from Angel Island. No way I was going to let that madman abuse its power for his benefit!"

Sonic nodded as he turned to the GUN agents, "And you guys are here because...?"

Shadow had his arms crossed as he answered, "The doctor somehow managed to hack into GUN Headquarters' network and captured Omega. Rouge and I are simply here on a rescue mission. Omega may be a walking arsenal, but he's more than just a robot; he's a friend."

Rouge added for the team, "We'll provide any additional support that we can. But there's not much time; we need to move immediately."

Commander Sam Walters had his arms crossed as he explained to the heroes, "We've all come here today because we've seen what Robotnik has shown what he's capable of over the years. After the incident from your last encounter with him, Sonic, we've been preparing ourselves for any planned attack he had up his sleeve. We've been letting him hurt our friends and families for too long. Today we all must work together to finally take him down and bring him into custody."

Suddenly, there was the loud sound of an explosion going off. Everyone looked up to see that the bridge at the top of the tower went off exploding, but not without something large jumping out of it. Landing on the platform with a massive thud was something that made Shadow and Rouge gasp in shock. It was Eggman in his Egg Mobile controlling a massive Egg Smasher with giant hands that had gatling guns attached to it, massive rocket launchers on its back, and the source that was being used to power it up on the chest; E-123 Omega.

Omega was locked inside of the Egg Smasher and wasn't able to speak as his energy was under his former creator's control in the mech. Eggman laughed maniacally as he aimed the Mech's gatling guns towards the heroes. The six Mobians all stood in fighting poses ready to fight as Robotnik's Smasher started firing at them.

Back on the ground at the beach, a bunch of swatbots and drones were firing down missiles and laser blasts all over the place. Civilians were all running away from the chaos as fast as they could. Silver, Blaze, Cream and Cheese all gathered in a group. Blaze's hands lid up in her flames as she started spinning in a fire tornado before she came out with her fighter outfit. Because she was the guardian of the Sol Emeralds, the energy she emitted from her hands and in her eyes was fire rather than lightning.

Silver covered himself with his aura and formed his outfit as well. His Chaos energy was bright cyan, a colour somewhere between white and turquoise like those particular Emeralds, and his energy emitted like a mist.

Cream grabbed a device from her nearby backpack and tossed it above her. The device in the shape of a disk started spinning over Cream's head as it shone a beam of light onto her. Shortly afterwards, she was now in her fighter outfit too.

Blaze, Silver and Cream engaged against the swatbots and drones. Cream flew in the air with her ears while avoiding gunfire from the drones. She took hold of Cheese and tossed him at the drones. Cheese spun fast as they bounced and collided against the drones, breaking them and causing them to fall. Silver hovered in the air with his psychokinesis and used his powers to grab a pair of swatbots and toss them into the air, only for them to fall back down onto another pair of swatbots and destroy them. He then teleported back to the ground and used his powers again to force multiple swatbots and drones to slam into each other followed by an explosion. Blaze blasted a bunch of swatbots with her fire and threw fireballs at drones. She then dashed forward in a streak of fire and bashed through a crowd of other badniks. When she came to a halt, she then raised her hand behind her without looking and threw another fireball at a drone.

Silver landed next to Blaze while crushing a swatbot with his powers, "Heh-heh, always showing who's boss, huh, Blaze?"

Blaze only smirked with her arms crossed, "I'm only putting what I've learned to good use."

A pair of swatbots stood behind the two and raised their blasters to fire, only for Cheese to slam into their hands, breaking them in the process. Both Blaze and Silver yelped in surprise before Silver gave a thumbs-up to Cream with Cheese, who did the same in return.

The sound of explosions from Eggman's Egg Carrier could be heard from down below. Cream was concerned for the others' safety, "I hope Mr. Sonic and the others are okay up there."

Back on the Egg Carrier, the GUN soldiers and Commander were all taking cover from the gunfire of Eggman's Egg Smasher. Eggman snarled as he continued firing the gatling guns out; the bullets shooting out extremely quickly as the shells flew out of the guns bouncing on the platform in huge piles. Sonic and Shadow went rushing forward while pulling Knuckles and Amy along. Both hedgehogs jumped in the air dodging the bullets' explosive impacts and threw Amy and Knuckles at the Smasher.

Amy swung her hammer and it bashed the Smasher's left leg while Knuckles used his strong fists and bashed the right. The Smasher fell forward, but managed to stop itself from hitting the platform face first. Then it raised its left arm and attempted to swipe Amy and Knuckles off, but they both managed to jump back before they got hit. Amy then threw her hammer right at the Smasher, but the hammer ended up getting caught in the process by its right hand. But then Knuckles came in thrusting at the Smasher and punched it hard in the arm, causing it to shift backwards on its feet and drop the hammer which was quickly picked up by Amy who ran forward, jumped up and swung it down with a lot of her strength, a swing strong to knock the left arm's gatling gun right off.

Eggman snarled as his Smasher stood up on its feet. Just in time as he noticed energy blasts coming at him from up high. He quickly punched a button on his control panel, and an energy was activated just before the blasts hit his Smasher. Those energy blasts were Shadow's Chaos Spears. Shadow started firing more Chaos Spears at the Smasher's shield trying to break it down. Then the Smasher received blasts from behind, causing Robotnik to yelp in surprise and turn to see that the blasts from behind came from Tails' arm cannon and Rouge's blaster. Snarling in annoyance, Robotnik slammed his fist on another button and the rocket launchers on the Smasher's back started firing multiple missiles at the flying heroes.

Tails and Rouge quickly started moving to avoid the missiles coming at them. Using their acrobatics and skills in flight and combat, they managed to dodge most of the missiles and made them collide with each other while blasting the rest away. Eggman then had his gatling gun aim at them, only to receive a powerful Spin Dash attack from behind by Sonic.

Eggman turned his head to face his arch nemesis, only to be jumpscared by said arch nemesis standing on the windshield right over his head, causing him to jump out of surprise in his seat. Sonic had his fist against his hip as he raised one hand and wiggled his finger at the doctor with a cocky grin, which only made Eggman scowl, "RRRGH, you little!"

The Egg Smasher then suddenly activated an electric shield, causing Sonic to take a shock before being knocked off and falling down to the platform. Shadow dashed forward at the Smasher with his Air Shoes and prepared to use another Chaos Spear. The Mech thrust its left hand at Shadow, only for the hedgehog to teleport out of sight and reappear behind throwing the Chaos Spear. However, the blast didn't seem to affect the electric shield. The windshield for Eggman's Eggpod opened as he peeked out and fired an advanced blaster, launching some kind of projectile ring device.

Shadow didn't manage to react fast enough as the device opened up and then quickly shut back closed on his neck. The device was an electric collar as Shadow started getting electrocuted and fell down to the platform. He grunted in pain as he tried to pull the device off his neck, but the collar was too tight. Eggman then fired another two collars, this time at Tails and Rouge. The two flying heroes attempted to blast the collars to pieces with their weapons, but the collars remotely dodged the blasts and grabbed hold of them, electrocuting them and causing them to fall down.

Amy and Knuckles saw an opportunity to snatch Eggman while his windshield wasn't protecting him, and they ran towards the Smasher. The Smasher swung its arm at the two, but they managed to jump over it and up towards Robotnik. As they prepared to get at him, Eggman threw out two more collars at them, catching them by surprise. Amy and Knuckles fell to the platform getting electrocuted, and Sonic was left standing.

Tails yelled in pain from the electric collar as he desperately called out, "Sonic, get out of here!"

Eggman's windshield went back on as the Egg Smasher attempted to grab Sonic, but the hedgehog dodged the grabs and then got behind before running forward into the hallway in the Egg Carrier. Eggman snarled, "You're not getting away from me!"

The Egg Smasher's right arm pulled back and thrust forward as the hand was launched connected to a grappling rope. As Sonic ran down the hallway, he saw the hand catching up to him quickly. He tried to outrun it but it managed to catch him and started pulling him back towards Eggman. Once the hand was back in place, the doctor held Sonic close to him, who was grunting as he struggled to get out of the hand's tight grip.

Sonic quickly looked towards Shadow on the platform, who was still struggling to get the collar off of him. But the black hedgehog managed to give a nod to Sonic, to which he returned. Sonic then looked back at Eggman for a moment… before he closed his eyes. Concentrating. Focusing his thoughts. And then the seven Chaos Emeralds appeared from within him. Eggman gasped in surprise, "What?!"

The Egg Smasher attempted to crush Sonic before he got the chance to use the Emeralds, but was too late as the hedgehog burst out in a flash of yellow light and energy. The Smasher's arms were both destroyed in the process. Using the power of the Emeralds, Sonic had transformed into Super Sonic with his blur fur changing into gold yellow, the quills on his head pointing upward, and his eyes' colour changing from emerald green to bright cinnamon brown.

Using his Super form, Sonic quickly flew around the Egg Smasher and thrust into its back, leaving a big hole on the back end, and coming out of the front while freeing Omega in the process. Once Omega was free, he was back online and turned around swiftly before firing a barrage of his ammo at the Smasher, destroying it in the process. The collars on the other Mobians were suddenly deactivated and they managed to take them off their necks.

Eggman panicked in fear as he quickly managed to get his hover vehicle, the Egg Mobile out of the Mech before it got destroyed as well. As it hovered in the air, one of Eggman's most advanced aircrafts, the Eggpod, arrived and the Egg Mobile attached itself into its pod. The Eggpod's hover wings on the sides activated quickly in order for it to fly. The control panel opened a small cupboard revealing a container holding a few of Sonic's small quills which still had a small amount of the super speed energy in them. Eggman quickly connected the quills to his computers, boosting his aircraft's rockets and hover rings. The Eggpod started taking off and flying away at extreme speeds. But in the process, he pressed a red detonation button on his control panel, and explosions started going off on his Egg Carrier and all the rest of his battleships in the sky; all self-destructing.

Everyone onboard the Egg Carrier was losing their balance as the ship was shaking and shifting from all the explosions. Knowing this was now or never, Sonic started following Eggman in the sky, not willing to let him escape. The other Mobians and GUN soldiers quickly retreated to the aircrafts while Amy and Knuckles followed Tails to the X-Tornado.

Eggman was in fear as he knew Sonic was flying right behind him. They headed towards Eggman's base at White Acropolis at the end of the ocean. His Eggpod fired missiles at him, but it wasn't like they were going to even phase him as he was in his super form. All they did was just explode when they collided with him, yet he was completely unharmed.

After coming out of thick clouds in the sky, the two enemies flew towards Eggman's base in White Acropolis at the end of the ocean. Badniks, drones and defense guns all aimed and started firing at Sonic. But due to the speed that the super hedgehog was flying at, not one of the blasts could even hit him. And even if they did, what would happen? Pretty much nothing.

Not too far away behind them in the sky, the X-Tornado was following the signal of Sonic and Eggman. Tails was in the pilot seat with Knuckles sitting right behind him. Amy and Cream were in the two seats further back, and Shadow, Silver and Blaze were riding on the wings outside. Other GUN aircrafts were following close behind.

Tails took a quick look down at his computer and could see on the screen that Sonic and Eggman were yards ahead of them, but not out of his sights. He adjusted some controls as he called out to the others, "Okay, everyone. This is it. Today's the day. Sonic's gonna catch Eggman, and we're gonna bring him in."

Upon arriving at Eggman's headquarters, a large hangar door opened up revealing a hallway pointing downward. The doctor flew his Eggpod into the hall with the doors shutting right afterwards, only for Sonic to bust them apart. Then Eggman's Eggpod started bouncing against the walls as the hall was getting narrower and narrower, "Ugh! Whoa! Ah!"

Then as he reached the end of the hall, the Eggpod's right hover ring slammed right into the slightly closed door and was knocked clean off, causing Eggman to jump right out of his seat when the windshield was cracked, and the glass broke as he went flying out, "Waaaaaaaaahhh!"

Entering a room deep underground, Eggman bounced on the floor until he slid across and into a wall. His Eggpod crashed down shortly afterwards with its other hover ring tearing off from the landing. Groaning in pain, he sat up rubbing his head from the landing, until he gasped as he seemed to realize where he was. Noticing the control panel with the Master Emerald just above it, he stood up and ran towards the control panel. Just as soon as he reached it, there was the sound of something tearing through the structure, and in a matter of seconds, Sonic came bursting out of the ceiling with the bright yellow aura from his super form shining out as he hovered in the air.

Eggman swiftly turned around to face his arch nemesis in fear, "Ah! S-Sonic!"

From the look of things in Sonic's point of view, he had Eggman completely at his mercy with nothing up the doctor's sleeve. He slowly started hovering down to the floor. Eggman very sneakily pressed a button on his control panel before he got onto his knees, "I-I'm sorry!"

Eggman held his hands in front of him as he pleaded to the hedgehog, "R-really! L-look, go easy on me! P-please! I'll surrender all of my stuff over to the government, I swear! Just give me a chance!"

Sonic had his cocky smirk on his face as he put his fist on his hip, "Heh, this sure feels familiar. When's the last time you did this, Eggman? Oh, yeah. Up in space when you took the Chaos Emeralds and used it to blast the planet to pieces. But this time, we're here on the planet, and the others along with GUN are on their way. Sure, I'll go easy on you, but you're certainly gonna have to deal with all your crimes bigtime."

Sonic then noticed the Master Emerald right behind Eggman, which only seemed to boost his confidence, "Heh, guess Knux was right. You did manage to take the Master Emerald. I doubt he'll play nice when he finds you down here."

Eggman was up on his knees as small drops of sweat slid down his head, "T-take it! You can give it back to Knuckles! You win!"

Seeing no threat around him or Eggman, Sonic glady started walking towards the Master Emerald, "At least you actually know when to give up for once."

Oh, how wrong he would discover himself to be as he didn't see Eggman's terrified face turn into an expression of pride and power with a sinister smile. Sonic hopped onto the Master Emerald and took a hold of it as he was about to take it out of its compartment, that was until…

FLASH! The lights in a large circular room turned on, catching Sonic by surprise and forcing him to cover his eyes. Eggman quickly stood up and slammed a button on the computer. The window shifted upward into the ceiling opening up the entrance to the room. Then the next thing that happened was Sonic getting hit in the back by something hard and made of metal. He went flying forward and bashed into the wall, "Ah! What the-!"

Sonic quickly turned around only to see that the glass was shut. And the thing that shoved him inside the room was none other than Metal Sonic. Eggman chuckled as he patted his servant, "Good job, Metal."

Sonic snarled as he started flying back towards the glass window with his fist raised ready to punch it apart. This only made Eggman chuckle at his opponent's attempt as he just pushed another button, "Ah-ah-ah."

Right before Sonic could get the chance to punch the glass and break it, parts of the wall opened up with energy cannons connected to claws coming out. Sonic looked around in surprise and he attempted to fly towards the glass again, until he was caught in an energy field which dragged and held him in the middle of the room. Even in his Super form, he seemed to be struggling to get out.

Eggman chuckled delightfully as he witnessed his arch nemesis being unable to move, "Impressed, my speedy little opponent? Just like last time in outer space as you said. Only this time, I have a different plan for you."

Sonic grunted from the tight grip of the energy field, "So, what's next for your new master plan, Eggman? You just gonna hold me here and hide like a wuss? Hope that I just give up completely out of boredom?"

Eggman only chuckled, "Actually, I have something much better in mind for you. But before we get to that step… you won't be needing those Emeralds anymore."

Eggman pressed a button, and all of a sudden electricity started firing out of the energy cannons and on Sonic who was suddenly shouting out in pain, "Gaaaaaahhh! Rrrrgghh– Aaaaaaaahhhhh!"

Sonic shouted and yelled from the pain of the electricity when he was suddenly out of his Super form as the Chaos Emeralds were forcibly summoned out of him. As Sonic continued getting electrocuted, a hole in the floor opened up and a tractor beam shifted up pulling the Emeralds away from Sonic before going back down into the floor and the hole closed up.

Shortly, the Emeralds came out of the floor in front of Eggman on a display holder. He chuckled at the signs of the seven powerful stones and the Master Emerald all in his grasp as well as Sonic at his mercy. However, his overconfidence seemed to lower down as he heard, "EGGMAN!"

Eggman quickly pushed a button as the entrance that he came through in his Eggpod was suddenly blocked off with a strong glass door. In mere seconds, the other Mobians arrived but were just too late as the door had already blocked their way. Knuckles and Amy tried bashing the glass down with their weapons, but it was somehow too strong.

Eggman smirked as he wiggled his finger at the Mobians, "Please, no interruptions."

Tails, Amy, Cream, Silver and Blaze all watched in horror as they saw Sonic being tortured by electricity. They all pounded on the door desperate to break it down. Tails and Amy yelled loudly at Eggman, "Stop! Let him go!"

Eggman smirked as he pushed a button on his computer, and the electricity had finally stopped. Sonic fell down to the floor, panting and groaning in pain as all that shocking had him hurt and exhausted both from said pain and the Chaos energy being forcibly taken from him.

Eggman smirked as he put his hands behind his back, "Good, you're all here. Just as I had hoped."

Eggman startled pacing back and forth in the front of the window of the circular room Sonic was in, "Ahh, just look how the mighty has fallen. You can't begin to imagine how satisfying it feels after all these years of our battles. I've had a long, long time to think about what it would take to defeat the one being who always foiled my plans for world domination and the next step towards the evolution of humanity and Mobians."

Sonic groaned as he stood up and held his arm while looking and scowling at Eggman with anger in his eyes, "Yeah, cuz that idea of yours about evolution isn't anything about improving lives, it's all about control and making everyone serve you and everything as you see fit."

Eggman only smirked, "Oh, how none of you could ever understand. I had always been willing to take the biggest risks, make the hardest decisions. Once we're through here, I'll show the world my vision of evolution and soon they will understand."

Eggman continued pacing back and forth while the other Mobians scowled at him, "You see, Sonic, both you and I have been having this battle for much longer than either of us can remember. Why, if someone said it has been for thirty years, I'd believe them. Have you ever kept count of how many times you stood in my way? How many of my brilliant ideas and machines were destroyed by your actions? How many utter and humiliating defeats have I suffered at your feeble Mobian hands? Well, to make it more simple, your constant actions have made me quite weary overtime as I've been having less hours of rest, less nights of sleep. But one thing has always remained certain and has only become clear to me now…"

Eggman stopped pacing as he turned to face Sonic and put his hand on the window, "As much as it hurts my pride to admit this, Sonic… I can't defeat you. No matter how much my technology has improved, no matter how many inventions I have created, my genius has never, ever been enough to surpass your willpower."

Sonic and his friends all seemed to be flabbergasted at what they heard Eggman say, their stares were wide in confusion with quizzical thoughts from every second of the monologue. Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik, possibly the most dangerous, relentless and power hungry doctor in all of Mobius, was admitting his defeat? Just like that? So then… Why did this speech only give our heroes a sense of fear and danger? Even for Sonic?

Eggman then turned towards his control panel and placed his hand on a red lever, immediately putting Sonic on guard, "However, there is a solution to that problem. In all my years of struggling to defeat you once and for all, I finally realized that I don't need to eliminate you to beat you. If I can't eliminate you, then I'll simply have to send you away."

The Mobians were all unsure of what exactly he meant by 'sending Sonic away'. Eggman then held his other arm as he asked his arch nemesis, "Tell me, Sonic. Does the material in the room look familiar to you?"

Sonic looked around in the room, seeing what the technology was put to use in the room; panels of thick red and silver metal reinforcing the walls to provide a solid mass capable of keeping the room perfectly intact. Sonic did recognize the materials, they were very specially reinforced matter that were used in some of Eggman's larger creations. Something that even Knuckles, Amy and Shadow had a hard time breaking apart.

Sonic scoffed at Eggman, "Yeah, I know this stuff alright. What's that have to do with what you have in mind?"

Eggman smirked with a sinister chuckle as he pulled down the lever. Then there was the sound of crackling static that caught Sonic's ear. The hedgehog looked upward to see electricity in a large circle at the very top of the room. An indescribable sound was heard as some kind of blackhole opened up as Sonic's eyes widened. And to make matters worse, Sonic felt his feet not touching the floor. He looked down to see that he was being pulled up by the hole.

The other Mobians all gasped in surprise at what they were witnessing. Sonic shouted at Eggman, "What are you doing, Eggman?!"

Safe behind the reinforced walls and window, Eggman answered with a grin, "This, Sonic, is a dimensional rift. A small but powerful tear in the fabric of time and space itself!"

Now more desperate than before, the other Mobians all started pounding and kicking and blasting at the glass door trying to break it down. Eggman only smirked as he knew it was no use and only focused his words to Sonic, "In all honesty, my old nemesis, I really have no idea where you'll end up, and that makes no difference to me. Who knows where you'll go? Perhaps in a world full of nothing but hideous creatures hungry for prey, or a place consumed by extremely cold temperatures where you'll freeze, or even in the vacuum of space. Oh, how endless the possibilities feel."

Metal stood where he was, watching as Sonic was trying to find something, anything to grab on to and avoid being pulled into the portal. His head shifted downward as his metallic fists gripped tightly, the glow in his red eyes brightening. This was not how he wanted Sonic to be defeated. With the A.I. chip that Eggman had given him, he began to grow self-aware and more independent. He wanted to defeat Sonic himself personally; this was no longer just something put into his programming, every defeat he had suffered from the Blue Blur caused him to adopt a twisted belief that he was the real Sonic and the original was his 'loathsome copy'. Now that Sonic was being sent away instead of eliminated, the only thing that could run in his mind was anger. Disbelief. Hated. His purpose, taken away right in front of him.

Eggman could only feel the power of victory as he watched Sonic hover towards the portal and looked him right in the eyes, "Though I do have to admit, I'll miss fighting you. I actually enjoyed the thrill of having an enemy to fight. To prove that I can eventually win. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Without you to oppose me ever again, I'll deal with your friends and everyone else who dares to resist."

The portal grew larger as Sonic was getting pulled into it faster. He had nothing to grab onto as he desperately reached his arm out looking at the last familiar thing he saw, yelling out as he had finally vanished into the portal, "NOOOOOOO!"

All of the other Mobians called out, "SONIC!"

Eggman turned his back on Sonic and his face towards his old foes' friends. A mad grin split across his face as he could feel an unimaginable sense of triumph and victory built up inside while he saw the looks of distraught and defeat on his enemies' faces.

Eggman had done it. He had defeated his lifelong nemesis. He had achieved victory, "Goodbye, Sonic the Hedgehog."

Eggman began letting out his deranged laughter which echoed across the room, "Hehehehehehehehe! Ohohohohohoho! Hahahahahahaha! AHH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Eggman was so caught up in the moment of joy and the feeling of achieving victory that he almost didn't hear Shadow snarl, "What have you done?!"

Eggman just grinned, "Isn't it obvious? Didn't you see it right in front of your face, Shadow? I defeated Sonic the Hedgehog at long last! Now you and the rest of all my enemies are next!"

"No!" Blaze yelled in response, "You are playing with a power that is beyond your control!"

This response only made Eggman chuckle, "A power I can't control? Whatever are you talking about?"

Tails called out angrily, "You're so caught in your moment of triumph that you haven't noticed that you're overloading your machine with Chaos Energy!"

That response from Tails, that one response caused Eggman to stand frozen for a few seconds. Turning around, the glory that the mad doctor had suddenly turned to frightened and alarm. He was so caught in his victory that he forgot to turn off the machine, and now the dimensional portal was growing even larger and pulling even harder than before. So much so that the matter on the walls was starting to tear off. Now freaked out, Eggman ran over to the control panel and desperately started punching the buttons in an effort to shut it down.

An electronic voice sounded from the computer, "WARNING! ENERGY OVERLOADING! CONTAINMENT BREACH DETECTED!"

The Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald all combined started glowing brightly as electricity brightly sparked from the machines holding. All of their power combined for the device was too much to contain. The glass window which protected the room Eggman was standing in started to crack. The doctor started freaking out, "What?! No! NO! NO!"

"You fool!" Knuckles angrily yelled at the doctor, "Now look what you did!"

Eggman desperately and rapidly punched the buttons to shut down the process, but it was far too late now. There was too much Chaos Energy absorbed to stop it now. Shortly, the cracking glass of the window shattered open and Eggman started getting pulled into the portal. The doctor's feet were off the floor as he started floating and moving towards the portal. He quickly grabbed onto the edge of the control panel, holding on with all of his might, but his fingers were slipping off quickly. Upon looking forward, he saw Metal wasn't doing anything; he was just standing there.

"Metal! What are you doing?! Get over here and help me!"

Metal didn't move forward. He simply looked up at the portal then back at Eggman constantly; he appeared to be processing whether he should forget about Sonic or let Eggman go. Seizing the opportunity, Shadow used his Chaos Control to teleport inside the room. A yellow energy beam formed in his hand as he charged at the robot, "CHAOS SPEAR!"

Metal swiftly turned around only to be stabbed right in the chest by Shadow thrusting his Chaos Spear into his chest. The energy transferred into Metal caused his energy to overload and the robot collapsed as he suddenly went offline and collapsed to the floor. Eggman could do nothing as his fingers slipped off the panel as he and his Eggpod were sucked into the portal, "NOOOOOOO!"

Eggman was suddenly pulled into the claws that held the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald. In the process of his collision, the Chaos Emeralds were shaken loose from their claws and went flying into the portal as well. The doctor screamed as he, his aircraft and the Chaos Emeralds were sucked into the portal until his voice couldn't be heard.

Knuckles and the other Mobians gasped when they witnessed the Emeralds disappear, "The Chaos Emeralds!"

Quickly, Shadow approached the control panel and pressed a button to open the door and let the rest of the Mobians in. He then quickly placed his hand against the Master Emerald and held his hand out to the rest of the Mobians, "We have to leave now! Everyone, grab hold of each others' hands and hang on tight!"

Without hesitation, the Mobians all took hold of each others' hands as Shadow took hold of the Master Emerald tightly. Focusing all of his energy in himself with energy flowing between him and the Emerald, he shouted loudly with all his might, "CHAOS CONTROL!"

At that moment, Shadow teleported everyone and the Master Emerald out of the room. Shortly afterwards with the Master Emerald disconnected from the machine, the gravity that pulled all of the materials in the room started to weaken as the portal started shrinking quickly, but the damage was done. Several parts of the room's materials, controls and power systems were sucked into the portal, debris remained all over the floors, and Metal Sonic was… gone? The metallic hedgehog was nowhere to be seen. Chances were he was the last thing to be dragged into the portal.

What remained of the computer in the room was a damaged keyboard and a flickering screen from all that had just occurred. Sonic and Eggman were gone. Vanished from Mobius. Disappeared into another dimension. The only question that would be on anyone's mind from this point on would be, where did they go?
