Chapter 5.
Hermione woke up disoriented, her hair in her face in a matted, tangled mess. "Where the bloody hell am I?" She thought as she looked around the unfamiliar room and tried to sit up. "Where are my clothes? And why does my head hurt so bad?"
Just then the curtains opened and the sun streamed in. "Why!?" she groaned. "Who's there? Close the curtains!"
Draco sat on the edge of the bed and smirked at her. "Morning Granger."
"Draco?! What the hell happened last night?"
"You don't remember? I didn't think you had drunk that much." he asked as he handed her a cup of coffee and a hangover potion.
She sat back and thought hard while sipping the coffee.
The night before
"Where are we Draco?" Hermione asked as they landed.
"Pansy and Blaise's place. I'm sure Pansy has something you can borrow," he replied as he knocked on the door.
They didn't hear anything after a minute or two so Draco knocked again. The porch light came on and they heard swearing on the other side of the door. A moment later a very disheveled Blaise swung the door open, wearing only his knickers.
"This better be bloody important for you to interrupt--" He stopped short as his eyes glazed over the little witch at Draco's side. "Hermione?! What are you doing with this talk?" He would have hugged her but he wasn't really wearing any clothes.
Draco smirked at his best friend. "Granger here needs a night on the town. And I'm dragging you and Pansy along." He grabbed Hermione's hand and pulled her into the house past Blaise.
Blaise shook his head as he closed the door. "Well you'll have to wait a bit, Pans and I were uh...in the middle of something," he said as he took off back up the stairs.
Draco and Hermione snickered as they sat down in the sitting room. They talked leisurely for about ten minutes before Pansy and Blaise came downstairs with blissful expressions on their faces.
"Hello Draco, Hermione," Pansy said with a smile.
"I'm going to pretend that what just happened, didn't happen." Draco shuddered. "Here's the deal. Pansy find a dress for Hermione. Something terribly slutty that's going to make guys drool. Do something with her hair too. You all get dressed and I'll be back in 30 minutes."
Hermione pinched the back of his arm as he walked towards the door. "There is nothing wrong with my hair Draco," she hissed.
He winced. "Sure there isn't." He leaned down until he was a few inches from her face and whispered,"Hermy." He smirked and disapparated before she could get her hands on him; He knew how much that nickname bothered her.
Pansy burst out laughing and pulled a fuming Hermione upstairs. Hermione felt a little awkward being in Pansy's bathroom and letting her fuss over her. During their final year at Hogwarts, Hermione had become really good friends with Draco and Blaise and while she and Pansy were cordial, they weren't very close. Being with Blaise had changed Pansy for the better though; She was smiling more than she had when they were at Hogwarts. The dress Pansy selected for her was scandalous in Hermione's eyes. She protested for several minutes before allowing Pansy to help her squeeze into the tiny dress. It was a skintight strapless red dress with sequins that stopped several inches above her knees. Pansy had paired it with some black stilettos that she had to shrink to fit Hermione's small feet. She had successfully tamed Hermione's hair; How, she had no idea, but it now flowed gracefully down her back in soft curls. Pansy kept the makeup light so as to highlight Hermione's natural beauty.
Pansy stepped back to admire her handiwork. "Hermione. You look amazing! Let me get dressed really quick and we can head downstairs."
She came back a few minutes later wearing a simple black cocktail dress and she and Hermione went downstairs. Draco and Blaise were standing in the sitting room, both in black suits, each holding two shot glasses of firewhiskey. Draco almost dropped them when he saw Hermione in that red dress. He stared at her without blinking for several seconds and all of a sudden his throat felt very dry.
She leaned over to him with a seductive look in her eyes. "Took your breath away didn't I…Draco?" She breathed his name on his neck and he shivered.
He quickly regained his composure and looked down at her. "Meh, you clean up alright."
She gave him a smug look and smacked him playfully on the arm. "So what are we doing?"
"First, shots." He handed her one of the glasses he was holding. He raised his glass and the three others in the room followed suit. "To one hell of a night." They tapped glasses and downed the fire whiskey. They had two more shots before they all put on their coats, took Draco's arm and he disapparated them to an undisclosed location.
"Where are we Draco?" Blaise asked as they regained their footing. They were standing on a hill.
"The city of lights!" He stretched his arms out towards the city and Hermione's jaw dropped.
"Draco! Paris?!" Hermione almost shrieked as her eyes fell on the Eiffel Tower.
Draco grinned at her incredulity. "Come on Granger let's go!" He grabbed her hand and pulled her with him down the hill.
Blaise smiled at Pansy. "Do you think he knows yet?"
"What? That he's in love with her?" Pansy replied casually as they started to follow Hermione and Draco. "No, I don't think either of them know. Strange though isn't it? They were the top students in our year and they can't realize they like each other."
Hermione tripped as they reached the sidewalk and Draco caught her before she could fall. "I thought you could handle your liquor," he said as she tried to stand on her own again.
"I can!" She stuck her tongue out at him. "It's these ridiculous shoes Pansy made me wear."
Pansy and Blaise finally caught up to them a few moments later. "So where to mate?" Blaise asked shivering a bit. "It's freezing out here."
"Follow me." They walked into a pub, not unlike the Leaky Cauldron and had another shot of fire whiskey before heading out the backdoor into the French version of Diagon Alley. They walked up to a club that had a line stretching around the building.
"We came all the way to Paris to stand in line?" Hermione whined at Draco. She was starting to feel the effects of all the fire whiskey.
He scoffed. "Absolutely not," he replied as he pulled her to the front of the line.
The bouncer, who was looking down at his clipboard, sensed their presence and said, "Vous devrez attendre comme tout le monde. Allez au bout de la ligne." (A/N I don't speak French this is from google translate. I apologize if it's not correct.)
Hermione was about to tell the others that he had said they would have to wait and go to the end of the line when Draco responded in perfectly fluent French.
"Malfoys n'attend pas les lignes." The bouncer's eyes snapped up when he heard Malfoy and he immediately started apologizing and let them in.
Blaise clapped him on the shoulder when they got inside. "Mate, what did you say to him? I thought he might piss himself on the spot."
Draco smirked. "I told him Malfoys don't wait in lines."
And that works?" Hermione piped up.
He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "It does when you own the club."
He laughed at her shocked face and pulled her along to the VIP section. A waitress in a tiny dress had brought a bottle of the smoothest fire whiskey Hermione had ever tasted and was trying unsuccessfully to put her ample breasts in Draco's face. He was too busy watching Hermione to pay the bottle blonde any attention. Hermione was organizing and reorganizing the shot glasses and napkins on the table and bobbing her head to the music while pointedly trying to ignore Pansy and Blaise who were making out furiously on the couch behind her. Draco shoved a hefty tip into the girl's hand before walking over and sitting next to Hermione.
"Hermy. What are you doing? You do realize we're in a club right?" he asked, pulling her hands away from the shot glasses.
She scowled at him. "You know I hate being called that."
He laughed. "I know. That's why I continue to do it. Besides, you know you don't mind when I do it. Only other people."
She raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?" she asked, slurring her words a bit.
"Yeah." He stood up and extended his hand. "Come on Hermy, dance with me."
She stared at his hand for a minute before he sighed. "Hermione, you yourself said you needed to cut loose some. Now come on, dance with me."
She shrugged her shoulders and took his hand. "What the hell, okay."
He led her to the dance floor after they took another shot of fire whiskey. That might have been the one that completely undid Hermione Granger. A few minutes later she was dancing without a care in the world, grinding all over Draco to the tune of some French pop song. He was drunk too, although not even close to how drunk Hermione was. He found himself admiring her curves, how she swayed her hips in time to the music. His inebriated brain wouldn't allow him to suppress how attracted to her he was.
A slower song came on after a while, and she turned into him and wrapped her arms around his neck as she pressed her body close to his. His hands came to rest on her waist as she placed her head on his chest and closed her eyes as they danced.
She sighed happily. "Thank you Draco, I really needed this."
He rested his chin on top of her head, "You're welcome...but the night is young and this is only our first stop."
She drew back and looked at her watch. "It's already past midnight, what else could we possibly be doing?" she said, her rational mind trying to break through her drunkenness.
"You'll see Hermy, you'll see."
After the song was over, he reluctantly removed his hands from her waist only to find her reaching for his hand. He happily took it and they walked back over to their section when Pansy and Blaise were practically ripping each other's clothes off.

"Get a room!" Hermione teased as she took a seat and poured more shots for the four of them. Pansy pushed Blaise off of her and blushed furiously before taking a glass from Hermione.
"Alright, last drink here and we're off to the next stop." Draco said before downing his drink.
"I don't think I'm going to drink anymore," Blaise said. "One of us has to be sober in order for us to appare."
Draco frowned. "How are you going to appare us when you don't know where we're going?"
"I guess you'll have to tell me where we're going mate."
They went to two more clubs before Draco was sober enough to act on his own. Hermione, however, had not slowed down and was now roaring drunk. She was walking slightly ahead of Blaise and Draco swinging a bottle of butterbeer, as Draco would not allow her anymore firewhisky, and singing loudly. Pansy was trying to catch up to her and keep her from tipping over.
Blaise chuckled heartily. "When Hermione decides to do something, she does it one hundred percent doesn't she?"
Draco grinned. "That she does."
Blaise checked his watch. "Will you two be okay if Pansy and I head home? It's really late."
"Yeah it's fine. I'll make sure she's okay." They caught up to Pansy and Hermione who leapt into Draco's arms. He stumbled backwards in surprise while Pansy and Blaise howled with laughter.
"Hey!" Hermione slurred. "Are you guys making fun of me?"
Draco wanted to laugh too. Half of her hair had started to revert to its oversized, bushy nature and her mascara had started to run. Instead he pulled her into a hug and said,"They're just mean. That's why they're leaving us."
"Well we don't need them anyway," she whispered to him defiantly.
They said their goodbyes and Pansy and Blaise disappeared home.
"Ready for the last stop Hermy?"
She nodded enthusiastically and took his hand. He disappeared and a moment later Hermione opened her eyes and gasped in shock.
"Like the view?" Draco asked.
"Like it?! I love it!" She practically squealed with delight. They were standing on top of the Eiffel Tower looking out at the city of Paris.
He grinned as she took in her surroundings. He would never admit it, but he was always happy when he was the reason she smiled. He pulled a small bag out of his pocket and reached into it, much deeper than should have been possible.
He smirked at the confused look on her face. "Undetectable extension charm. You don't know how to do it?"
She smiled. "Of course I do dear Draco," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Mastered it in sixth year."
His smirk fell from his face causing her to burst into a fit of giggles. She stopped when she realized he had pulled out two sandwiches. She took one from him and sat down happily eating the sandwich. He shook his head and joined her on the ground, casting a warming spell around them.
"This was so much fun! I'm so glad you brought me here, although work tomorrow will be miserable," she said as she finished her sandwich.
"Oh crap, I forgot tomorrow was Monday." He groaned. "Oh well, it was worth it to get to spend time with my long lost friend."
"How sentimental, Malfoy," she teased. "I didn't know you could be sweet." She sighed and rested her head on his shoulder.
He readjusted her and put his arm around her shoulder. For some reason he felt nervous and anxious sitting with her like that. He suddenly became aware of the feelings he had towards her earlier that night and felt the strong urge to kiss her. He leaned down and cupped her chin to tip it towards him when he realized she was fast asleep. He sighed. Maybe it was for the best. He had missed his friend over the past few years and didn't want to do anything that might push her away from him again.
He stood up and picked her up gingerly and headed to the hotel his family owned in Paris, Hotel Malfoy. He carried her to the bedroom of his penthouse suite and placed her in the bed after removing her shoes. As he turned to leave the bedroom, he heard her whispering his name in her sleep and he stopped, frozen in place. He walked back over to her and sat on the edge of the bed. He didn't know what made him do it but he brushed her hair out of her face with his hand and kissed her on the forehead before getting up and leaving the room.
He paused and looked back at the closed door. "Hermione Granger I swear, you will be the death of me."
