Ch6: Percy's Dang Sword

Quick Author's note: Reminder this is the Tom Holland spider man. Also, am I the only one who has ever heard of an eye smile?!

Peter's POV

I hung up the phone. I sighed, pocketing it. I still didn't understand why Perseus, sorry Percy, was so dangerous. I mean, he seemed like such a nice and caring guy. I grabbed a paper towel and blew my nose. Sniffling, I opened the exit door.

There I saw Percy, looking throughly startled. "Oh! Sorry!" I said, "I didn't mean to startle you!" Percy shook his head, "No, its fine. I just didn't hear anyone in there, let alone someone near the door" he said reassuringly.

Me being 5'8, Percy loomed over me. His sea green eyes smiling kindly. "So, ready to head back?" he asked. I nodded. Whew, I thought, I'm glad he didn't hear my call with Fury. "Lead the way" I said, relieved.

Time Skip

After lunch, Percy asked if I wanted to take up sword fighting. I told him I'd never thought about it before, but I was willing to try it. "If your going to do swordplay, you'll need a sword. Let's head to the Hephaestus cabin, Leo can make about anything" Percy said, fiddling with his pen. I gulped. Wasn't Leo the one who had the dragon? I thought. Percy must have saw how uncomfortable I was, because he smiled. "Hey, Leo's not that bad! Unless of course you have Pyrophobia, then I don't know what to tell you" He said, getting up from his table. I was going to ask him what that had anything to do with it, but I decided against it. He was probably referring to a forge or something.

Time Skip cuz I'm lazy

The Hephaestus cabin was a grimey brick building. The entrance was a grey steel vault door. The smokestack spewed smoke, it billowed out in large fumes. Inside, was disorganized and messy. Almost everything was mechanical. The forge was filled with sounds of banging hammers and the smell of smoke. Kids ranging from little kids to teenagers were crafting machines and inventions.

I spotted Leo in the crowd of kids. Compared to Percy, Leo looked absolutely miniscule. "Hey guys! Can I do anything for you?" he said, wiping sweat and grime from his face. "Actually, yeah. Peter needs a sword made so we can practice" Percy explained. Leo scoffed. "That only take minutes, anything else?" He asked. "No, not really" Percy answered. Leo shook his head as he walked back over the forge. "A sword, hardly a challenge for my talents" He muttered.

A few minutes, and a whole lot of smoke later, Leo returned. With him, was a curved bronze sword. Percy whistled appreciatively. "Nice kopis" He said, admiring the blade.

Later, at the Arena, Percy didn't have a sword. "Hey Percy, where is your sword?" I asked him, curious. Percy laughed. He pulled a pen out of his pocket. I raised an eyebrow. "Um, Percy, that's not-" I started. Before I could finish, Percy uncapped his pen. Out sprang a full sized blade. Deadly and dangerous.

I sprang back, wide eyed. Percy laughed, a pure and joyful sound. He turned the sword in his hand, examining it. "Dude!" I yelled, startled, "Warn me next time!" Percy smirked. "C'mon, capture the flag is tonight, so you have a lot of training to do" He said.
