What's up everyone? I'm back with Chapter 6 of "A Boy and the Magma Dragon" and thank you for the support and reviews of the Fairy Tail AU OC Dragon story so far. As we're done with the perspective of other parties that reacted to Volcanis' reawakening and presence in Ishgar, it's back to Volcanis spending time with her adopted son Natsu during their flight trip around Fiore.
My responses to these Guest reviews that I can't normally reply on PM:
Guest: Don't worry, you will get to see the Dragon Slayer elements used by Filomena E. Fiore and Bram Kaden respectively when they get into a fight or spar in the future.
And yes, I've read the Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest where it finally showed God Serena's other 3 elements at last and I can make good use of it in this story here. I hope we get to see the debut of Gold Owl alchemist guild in the next arc of the 100 Years Quest including the Signario Sisters and their Guild Master which I bet it's Viernes the Gold Dragon God in human form.
Interesting: Irene Belserion might probably be conflicted and cynical, believing that the four other Generations of Dragon Slayers will eventually succumb to the inevitable curse of Dragonification like she and the first Dragon Slayers had 400 years ago. Especially as shown with Diabolos whose 5th Generation members were specifically forbidden from using their Dragon Force at all due to it rapidly mutating them into actual Dragons. It's even their Guild policy.
Although the Second Generation seemed to be the lucky ones out of all Dragon Slayers as Laxus, Cobra/Erik and God Serena didn't seem to suffer a Dragonification problem at all.
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail or its characters except my OCs. They belong to Hiro Mashima.
Enjoy and don't forget to review. :)
Chapter 6
Somewhere on top of the mountains of Fiore, a few days later
"Hahahahahahahahahahaha! Igneel did what?!"
Natsu Dragneel laughed his ass off after hearing stories about the Fire Dragon King from the female Dragon. After flying around in Fiore for a joyride and searching for Igneel with little results, Volcanis landed on one of the largest mountains to take a short break and give her adopted human son a breathing room. She even went down the mountain to kill and capture several large monster boars for food.
Her adopted human was very eager to cook and consume them, demonstrating his huge appetite and love for meat.
Several piles of huge bones were litered all over the ground.
"Your father was gifted for many things, hatchling. Subtlety, common sense and restraint were not any of them.", Volcanis said with a nostalgic tone before adding. "Many of the Fire Dragons in the brood called him "Hazy Breath" until his Rite of Monarchy."
"Right of Mona Lisa?", the pink haired boy asked his surrogate Dragon mother made of magma as he tilted his head with curiosity.
The Magma Dragon rolled her eyes, "Of course, you're really his child if Igneel was that bad at education to teach you to know words with more than three or four syllables. Did you really think your father simply called himself the King of Fire Dragons because he wanted to or he was born into it?"
Natsu eagerly replied, "Well yeah! He's the strongest and I want to be like him one day!"
Volcanis conceded as she explained to the young Fire Dragon Slayer further, "Fair point. But I should inform you that Fire Dragons are prideful stubborn creatures. Especially yours truly. If someone declared themselves the strongest and the best among our brood, our response is that we challenge him or her to prove it. For Fire Dragons in particular, we were very battle hardened and the most fearsome compared to most other broods in our race who have their own pride. The first Fire Dragon King Flamefang, was wise enough to realize that our stubborn nature would cause a lot of infighting between us."
The son of Igneel was awed to hear more about the Fire Dragons and their customs from his adoptive Dragon mother, eagerly listening for more.
"So Flamefang created the Rite of Monarchy. A test of power, leadership, skill, defense, intelligence, offense, etc., etc. In order to determine who was the greatest among the Fire Dragons and who would become their new king or queen they all acknowledge and respect.", she finished.
"Ooh! So it's like the S-Class Trials Gramps talked about! Laxus already finished it and became an S-Class wizard himself. And I want to take it in the future when I'm older and stronger!", Natsu realized as he palmed his fist into his hand.
"I see. The holder of Elexion's Lacrima is truly worthy wielding the Lightning Dragon King's power given to him if he passed your Guild's trial you mentioned.", the female Dragon nodded in approval as her adopted human child was able to grasp to her explanation. "To complete the Rite of Monarchy, Igneel must travel all of Earth Land's continents such as Ishgar, Alakitasia and Guiltina. Even for a powerful Dragon, it is no easy feat, hatchling. Hence, the competitor is allowed to have two retainers by his or her side. They're also tested to see if their loyalty to the future Fire Dragon King or Queen stays true and strong or not."
And if those Dragon retainers who had proved themselves weak and disloyal in the Rite of Monarchy are forever shamed and disgraced. Outcasts who can never to be trusted at all and it would be considered as a huge blow to a Dragon's pride. A fate worse than death and they can never let go of that stigma throughout the rest of their long lives.
But if they succeeded, they gain great respect and honor from their fellow Dragons. Volcanis remembered that is the exact reason why she and Atlas Flame were willing to follow Igneel in taking part of the Rite of Monarchy as his retainers and earned their place when completing it together.
She finished, "It took us about... hmmm a thousand years to complete it. After finishing the Rite of Monarchy, Igneel became the 6th holder of the title of Fire Dragon King."
"You know, Igneel did tell me that he traveled around the world in his boast. Was it through that, Volcanis?", the little boy asked.
"Hah! Your father would have been dead without me and Atlas Flame covering his scaly hide! It's a damn miracle we even got out of that alive!", Volcanis exclaimed as the heat within her stone-covered magma body begins to glow brightly, remembering such journey like it was yesterday. "He almost killed us on the first day by surprise tackling us into the sea! For the shits and giggles!"
Natsu raised his eyebrow and questioned, "How's that bad?"
The former retainer of the Fire Dragon King growled with a frown, "Don't you start, hatchling! Just like I have informed you in our first meeting, I'm a Magma Dragon comprised of the magma itself! Atlas Flame was a Dragon comprised of literal hell fire! We weren't born with the physical bodies like Igneel!"
That made Natsu suddenly burst into laughter and point at his adoptive Dragon mother, "That means you can be taken down by a bath!"
"As if! I can dry up an entire ocean around me and create a new island for myself as a summer vacation spot if I wanted to!", Volcanis retorted before she shook her head and softly sighed. "It amazes me that you're really like Igneel in more ways than one, Natsu. You even share his similar traits even though you're human. But most of all..."
Lowering her snout down to warmly smile at Natsu, she finished. "You both seem have a good luck with making friends. I owe your father everything, son of Igneel. He accepted me when other Fire Dragons in the brood rejected me for my appearance. Like Atlas Flame, we were born different and judged as freaks for it. In turn, we became his retainers and fought by his side."
Volcanis did not add about the eventual break-up of the fellowship due to differences and conflicts between three Dragon friends. And it shamed her that she left him and went to deep sleep when Igneel needed her the most. Natsu is too young to know about that and she'd rather keep his innocence until he is old enough to understand.
Affectionately hugging her snout, the young Fire Dragon Slayer reassured with optimistic glee, "Don't worry! I'm sure we can find Igneel! We should find Uncle Atlas Flame too! Then we can be a happy family together again!"
"Thank you, Natsu.", Volcanis said although she intended to beat up Igneel on every inch of his scaly body for abandoning the boy and hold him accountable for his actions once he's finally located somewhere in Earth Land sooner or later.
Suddenly, the Magma Dragon stood at attention after sensing something and sniffed her nostrils several times to identify the source. It surprised Natsu as he still held on to her snout and got lifted up as a result. "Volcanis? What's going on?", he asked.
Recognizing a familiar smell with a hint of nostalgia, Volcanis replied. "I believe we've found a fellow Dragon, hatchling. It's not Igneel yet... but I know that scent. I can never mistake that."
As Natsu quickly adjusted himself to a proper sitting position on the top of her head, she spread her fiery wings and flew off from the mountain at high speed. "What kind of scent is it, Volcanis?", the pink haired boy asked with curiosity.
The former retainer of Igneel smiled in response, "An Iron Dragon."
Unbeknownst to the boy and the Magma Dragon on the other hand, a certain fabulous man with a bunny ear-themed orange hair and an eight wheeled blade on his back somehow managed to keep his presence hidden from the two several miles away before tailing after them by foot with an anticipating smirk.
At the middle of the open field road in the grassland of Fiore
"What are you looking at, blondie?"
Lucy Heartfilia winced next to her mother and held on to her doll Gonzales after being called out by a rude boy who's as old as she was and he has long spiky black hair and iron studs on his face. With his choice of punk clothing, he looks like a street gang member one can find in the city. Apparently, he was from the Phantom Lord wizard guild and he was hired to be an escort for the carriage ride throughout the trip.
She can't help but stare at him and got the death glare as a result.
"N-nothing.", she meekly answered.
"Now, now. Be nice to each other, children.", the older blonde woman gently told the two as she sighed and felt herself getting weaker in every passing moment.
Layla Heartfilia was running out of time. After using her life force to compensate for the lack of Aquarius' Gold Key to fully open the Eclipse Gate with the 11 other Gold Keys of the Zodiac on July 7, X777 for her ancestor Anna and the five Dragon Slayer children to enter into the current era through it, she was slowly dying of Magic Deficiency Disease afflicting her body.
Despite the efforts of the many doctors and medicinal healers hired by her beloved husband Jude to cure her with Magic replenishing potions, they can only delay the inevitable. Not even Porlyusica from Fairy Tail wasn't able to help her. Opening the Eclipse Gate with the 11 Gold Keys and her life force had drained a lot from her and it was too much of a void to fill back her Ethernano containers to normal levels.
Because of that, Layla was spending her time with her daughter Lucy as much as possible before embracing the inevitable. That also includes teaching her how to use Celestial Spirit Magic, a power that has been passed down in the Heartfilia bloodline for generations within 400 years. Now that Layla finished her family's duty and freeing her daughter from the burden, she intends to give the Gold Keys of Capricorn and Cancer to Lucy when she comes of age and they're held by her.
That includes the Gold Key of Aquarius currently possessed by her former servant and fellow Celestial wizard, Grammi who is on her way to Fiore.
It's not Grammi's fault that she didn't give me Aquarius' key on time for the opening of Eclipse Gate on July 7, X777. I hope she brings Brandish with her on a trip. Lucy would be good friends with her., Layla thought about her friend living in the Alvarez Empire. Although she is more worried about Zoldeo after some members of the Heartfilia Konzern faculty overheard him blaming Grammi for her Magic draining illness and wanting to kill her, and told her about it.
As a result, the older Heartfilia woman had Zoldeo banished from her home and she never saw him again after that. Of course, she will have to ensure Grammi is protected when the latter arrives on Fiore just in case Zoldeo appear out of nowhere and make good on his threat. That creepy man can be sneaky when he wants to be and no one would see him coming.
The last thing she needed is Brandish ending up as a lonely orphan because of Zoldeo's misplaced grudge on her mother.
Hence, Gajeel Redfox was hired as a guard as part of the Job he took by accompanying her and Lucy to the coastal city of Hargeon where the tourists and merchants go there. His Dragon Slayer senses would allow him to sniff out Zoldeo from his hiding spot and take him down immediately. The deranged former servant would be an easy picking for him.
"Yes mommy.", Lucy nodded to her as she held Gonzales tighter.
Gajeel huffed away as he looked towards the carriage's window, "Whatever."
Considering the boy's an Iron Dragon Slayer and was taught by a Dragon parent he insists that this Metalicana real, he must be one of the five children Anna was searching for after arriving to the future and scattered to different directions across Fiore... And he's in Phantom Lord of all places., the matriarch of the Heartfilia Konzern internally noted about Gajeel when getting to know the boy during the trip.
Although the Iron Dragon Slayer can be blunt and rough around the edges, he was a momma's boy after he was adopted by Councilor Belno. And that he chose to join Phantom Lord because he wanted to make his own path as a Legal Mage without any connection to the female member of the Magic Council and also try find his missing Dragon parent Metalicana.
Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind had blown through their ride and it's followed by a huge thud on the ground. The carriage stopped in a screeching halt which surprised Layla and her daughter, and Gajeel. "Mr. Major, what's going on?", the older blonde woman asked as she's worried that they might have encountered bandits blocking the road.
"M-madam Heartfilia, I th-think we have a Dragon in our path.", the nervous coachman informed them.
It got the young Iron Dragon Slayer's immediate attention and interest after he heard news of an ancient draconic creature flying around Ishgar and wiped out a Zeref cult building some stupid tower on a whim. Gajeel was gleeful that Dragons were still around in Earth Land and there's hope of finding Metalicana somewhere, especially when he rubbed in on the faces of members of Phantom Lord who mocked him of his claim that he was raised by a Dragon.
Before that, the adopted son of Belno beat the crap out of anyone for it and it was good stress release, already earning his reputation in Phantom Lord to be feared.
He didn't expect the Magma Dragon to appear now of all times.
"A Dragon?! You two stay back! I'll handle this! Gee-hee!", he said before swiftly exiting the carriage through the door to confront a member of a race that seemingly disappeared on July 7, X777.
Before his eyes, Gajeel faced a huge rock-covered female Dragon with fiery body and wings and on top of her head was a pink haired boy with a white scaly scarf as they're blocking the way of the carriage on the road.
"So where's the Dragon, Volcanis?", the said boy asked in confusion.
"I believe this is the one we're looking for in front of us, Natsu. Another Dragon Slayer like you I see.", Volcanis answered, looking at the young mage of Phantom Lord with interest.
Natsu looked let down as he said, "Aww, really? That's disappointing."
Taking offense to that, Gajeel called out, "Who are you calling disappointing, pinkie?!"
"It's salmon, nail-face! I'm gonna beat you up for that!", Natsu yelled back as his left fist ignited in flames.
"Bring it on!", the Iron Dragon Slayer dared as he transformed his right arm into an iron club.
"Gajeel Redfox, what's going on?", Layla asked as she walked out of the carriage with her daughter hiding behind her to see a Dragon in person.
Volcanis noticed the Heartfilia matriarch and reassured her, "Do not be alarmed. We are not here to harm you. We just want to meet this child after I took notice his scent to be that of an Iron Dragon."
Stopping his attempt to attack Natsu and overheard Volcanis' interest on him, Gajeel demanded with a raised eyebrow, "Who are you and what do you want with me, Dragon?"
"I'm Volcanis the Magma Dragon, child. This is Natsu Dragneel, my son. And you bear Metalicana's Magic.", the female Dragon answered with her claw pointing at him as she can sense his power and also his metal club arm too as well.
Even though he was a bit bitter that the Iron Dragon had left him alone on July 7, X777 yet still wanted to find him regardless, the long spiky haired boy wondered, "How did you know of Metalicana?"
"Because I've known him to be Igneel 2.0 and he was also regarded to be the Warchief of the Earth Dragons.", Volcanis boldly declared to him and the others who have heard her reveal.
"WHAT?!", Gajeel exclaimed with widened eyes and a jawdrop.
At the Mercurius Palace, Crocus, Kingdom of Fiore
Within the large dining room of the royal palace, Queen Filomena E. Fiore braided a little girl with blue hair who was wearing a lovely green Victorian-styled dress with blue shoes and sitting on her lap when sitting on her personal chair. "Your hair is very lovely, Wendy dear.", the older green haired woman complimented as she finished it and handed her a mirror to take a look and admire the results.
Wendy Marvell cooed in awe as she saw her hair in a French braid. "Wow, thank you!"
"You're welcome.", Filomena said with a warm before letting the Sky Dragon Slayer leave her lap and play with her daughter Hisui and her two fellow Dragon Slayers of Gramlush at the other side of the table whose contents of food and drink were almost consumed by the kids.
"You look pretty, Wendy!", commented Hisui in her white Victorian-style dress with green shoes.
"Kyahahahaha! I want to try next!", cheerfully said a young girl with shoulder-length blue grayish hair and red eyes who wears a yellow Victorian-styled dress with a light-colored trim, collar, and three buttons, and a pair of dark shoes. Additionally, she has a pair of hair bun with spirals on them.
"I think you're fine the way you are, Elena.", remarked a young boy with spiky brownish-grey hair and thin eyebrows, and black eyes who wears a gold trimmered white Victorian-styled coat with a grey chain-detailed trousers and brown boots.
Elena blushed with a smile of appreciation, "Thanks, Bomb."
When she founded her personal Guild alongside God Serena and Bram Kaden who founded their own, the Invoker of Dragons managed to locate and take in Bomb Sentense, Elena Alteria and Wendy Marvell as the first members of Gramlush. All three of them are First Generation Dragon Slayers and once they're old enough, each of them will receive a Lacrima of their respective element to be properly implanted into their bodies, and become Third Generation just like her.
However, as to what Filomena told the Magic Council, Gramlush is still small and trying to locate Dragon Slayers who were taught by Dragons or learned their Dragon Slayer Magics from the tomes is difficult. And those said Dragon Slayers who had joined the Legal Guilds already and found a place to call themselves home there are to be left alone as they have made their choice.
Of course if they're in Dark Guilds, the queen would have to rescue and recruit them before Diabolos finds out and get their hands on them. She'd rather not let those Dragon Eaters have their way even though they were officially recognized by the Magic Council as a Legal Guild.
Only Wendy is confirmed to have been personally taught by a Dragon and Filomena believed her after the blue haired girl explained that she was raised by Grandeeney the Sky Dragon who went missing on July 7, X777. The queen got her info from Councilor Belno and Makarov Dreyar about the Dragon parents of Gajeel and Natsu who had disappeared on that same day.
Strange, Dragons who raised their children had disappeared altogether on that specific date. Why would they do that? Did something happen to them? Wendy told me the mother Dragons are very caring to their children and yet Grandeeney had left her... That seems out of character for the Sky Dragon to do that., she thought with a frown that the Sky Dragon did such thing and it reeks of suspicion than hypocrisy.
Whenever she had time, the Invoker of Dragons will have to go seek out Volcanis herself and talk to the Magma Dragon about it. But I have a feeling Serena is already looking for her and wanted to fight her even though she's not really hostile. I hope he doesn't antagonize Volcanis if they ever meet., the queen of Fiore internally noted of her fellow Three Dragon Lord member's intentions and personality.
The boy Jellal though. I wonder what got him spooked like that., Filomena thought in suspicion as she remembered the past encounter of him asking her to take care of Wendy for him and left without further elaborating his reason why he would leave the Sky Dragon Slayer behind other than stating that she is better off without him and his journey would be dangerous.
She heard about Volcanis' attack on the Tower of Heaven and the leader of Zeref cultists was apparently named Jellal after he was apprehended by the Magic Council under their custody. It doesn't make any sense however. If Jellal was leading the tower's construction, why would he be in the mainland taking care of Wendy before he ran into me?, she added.
Hopefully, the queen will get her answers from Jellal when she pays a visit to Era where he's been held there.
On the other hand, Bomb and Elena learned their powers from tomes of Dragon Slayer Magic when they were orphan slaves of the Dark Guild Smilodon who stole the tomes from the ruins of Dragnof. The two were being used as their leashed attack dogs for their petty criminal activities. Until she came along to rescue the two young Dragon Slayers and easily took down the Dark wizards including their Guild Master, Audrey Belladonna.
"My Queen, two shipments of Dragon Lacrimas and equipment have been loaded up and accounted for as you've instructed.", a man said as he held the Communication Lacrima to contact his soldiers guarding them.
Filomena nodded, "Good, send them to Hound Holy and Phoenix Grave, Sir Fabiano. Make sure the cargoes are to be protected at all times. I promised Serena and Kaden that I will have them delivered for their Guilds."
"Yes, Your Majesty.", he complied and gave out his orders through the Communication Lacrima.
Fabiano is a middle-aged large man with light-colored combed hair, small eyes, and a clean, medium-length mustache, and he wears a customized nobleman's military uniform with a cravat. He was the strongest soldier in the Fiore Royal Army with Arcadios being his rival and the wielder of Crystal Magic whose properties are stronger and tougher than the regular crystal.
The man was also a former candidate of the Ten Wizard Saints before he was defeated by Jaguar in single combat. But there's no hard feelings between him and the Rune Knight Captain at all.
Currently, Fabiano is part of Gramlush to be the guardian of Wendy, Elena and Bomb, and also the de facto leader of her Guild in his queen's place whenever she's not around or busy in her work. Although, he may not be a Dragon Slayer but he was a formidable warrior in his own right and an ideal mentor for the young members of Gramlush to train and learn from him.
"Uncle Fabiano!", the three Dragon Slayer kids cheered as they ran up to him and jumped to hang over his arms.
Putting away his device, the large man was more than willing to let them climb over him and swing around like little adorable monkeys. "Hahahaha! Easy there, kids.", he smiled at them.
"Can we spar again, Uncle Fabiano? I'm getting good with my Burst Dragon Slayer Magic!", Bomb Sentense eagerly asked.
Elena Alteria mused, "Kyahahahahaha! As if you can break through his crystals! You couldn't even scratch my Diamond Dragon Slayer Magic!"
"Guys, you're both amazing.", Wendy tried to placate her two fellow Dragon Slayers bickering with each other.
"Do not worry, I can take you both on at any time! Just remember, you must work together as a team and use your smarts to tactically win a fight. Brute force alone will not help you at all, am I clear?", Fabiano boisterously stated.
The Burst Dragon Slayer and Diamond Dragon Slayer nodded, "Yes, Uncle Fabiano."
"I can help with the Enchanting to help you guys!", the Sky Dragon Slayer offered to her friends.
Hisui asked her mother with pleading eyes, "Can I learn Dragon Slayer Magic too like you one day, mom?"
"Perhaps on your next birthday, Hisui.", Filomena reassured her daughter but in her thoughts. Although I prefer if you learned Celestial Spirit Magic.
Sensing a dangerous aura coming this way, the older nobleman soldier put down the Dragon Slayer kids. "Get behind me!", he yelled in concern which the Gramlush members complied.
Entering the room was a short man with fading green spiky hair and beard that gives off an impression with a lion's mane and a thick mustache as he entered the dining room. And that individual was wearing a set of clothes and rings suited for nobles with elaborate designs such as a dark, high-collared long coat, white robes and a pink poofy tie.
In his hand is a small seemingly humble-looking wooden staff.
Confronting him, Fabiano activated his Crystal Magic, coating his arms before making a martial arts stance in defense of the queen and her children. "Who are you?! How did you get inside the palace without authorization?!", he threatened the intruder.
The portly man shrugged as if he's not really worried about the man's threats, "How you ask? Well,... I have my ways."
"Stand down, Sir Fabiano. It's my uncle, Eugene Chandler.", Filomena ordered as she recognized him.
"Yes, Your Highness.", Fabiano complied with a nod as he powered down and reverted his Crystal Magic away from his arms. Of course he kept an eye on the short man casually walking inside as if it's home to him.
"Grandpa Chandler!", Hisui cheered as she ran to embrace her visiting family relative.
Bearing a kindly grandfatherly smile, the Acid Dragon Slayer greeted, "Hello, little Hisui! How are you lately?"
"I'm doing great, grandpa! Look, I made new friends!", the daughter of Filomena replied.
Noticing the three young Dragon Slayers hiding behind Fabiano's back and peeking to take a look at him, the older member of Diabolos commented with a jolly laugh, "Hohohohoho! I see. That's good, good. Glad to see that you have made bonds with others."
"By the way, where's your father?", Chandler asked as he rubbed his beard.
The green haired girl cheerfully answered, "Daddy is busy meeting with other people in politics or stuff. Sir Arcadios is with him though."
As her uncle nodded at her daughter's explanation, the Invoker of Dragons ordered with a calm tone, "Sir Fabiano, please vacate the room with the kids. I need to hold a private discussion with him."
"Yes, Your Majesty. Come along, kids. We're sparring today.", the Crystal wizard complied. He knew that his queen is a very powerful woman as one of the Three Dragon Lords and can handle Chandler by herself if this exchange would become hostile.
"Okay.", the three kids agreed while Hisui followed them.
After Fabiano had escorted the young princess and the members of Gramlush out of the room, the older green haired woman demanded with a frown as her eyes narrowed with Draconic slits, "What are you doing here, uncle?"
"Can't I pay a visit to my family often, niece? I was homesick and had to leave Diabolos for a while to come here.", Chandler defended himself as he made a dramatic hurt gesture.
"Don't lie to me. You came here because of Volcanis showing up in Fiore, am I right?", Filomena bluntly said, getting straight to the point of the subject.
Pouting, the older member of Diabolos said, "Jeez, ruin the suspense will you?"
"Uncle, you're a Dragon Eater. It's pretty obvious of your intentions when there's a Dragon involved.", the mother of Hisui dryly retorted.
"Alright, alright you got me there.", Chandler conceded as he made a big huff and approached the dining table filled with some food and wine left, noting the huge appetite of the three Gramlush members. "Truth be told, I'm only here to assess the rumors if this Volcanis the Magma Dragon is actually real or not."
Filomena countered, "So that you will report back to your Guild Master, Georg Reizen about it and then he orders to you try kill her and eat her flesh? Good luck with that."
"True but it never hurts to try. I did kill Barbarus and had consumed his flesh to gain this power after all.", the Acid Dragon Eater said as he raised his hand that manifests bubbling acid from it.
"Didn't Georg allow those who joined his Guild consume the Dragon's flesh that he killed for them?", the Invoker of Dragons skeptically pointed out with a raised eyebrow.
"Only for the youngsters in the Guild, niece. The adults would have to kill the Dragons by themselves and prove to Master Georg that we deserve to be Dragon Slayers in Diabolos. Not all have managed to succeed though but I was one of those guys who survived the ordeal in the end...", Chandler explained with a somber look while deactivating his acid power.
That tidbit of information from her uncle was something Filomena did not expect and she learned that apparently Georg Reizen has a soft spot for kids as he had them eat the Dragons that he killed for them. "I see. But you're still determined to continue the mission, aren't you?...", she inquired.
The portly short man confirmed with a cheeky smile as he helped himself with the wine bottle by pouring it into a spare glass cups: one for himself and the other for his niece, casually approaching her to offer the drink.
"Why yes of course I will, Filomena... But for now, I'd like to spend some time with my family here first. It's not like I have a deadline or anything. I can inform Master Georg whenever I want."
Author's Note: Okay, the sixth chapter of "A Boy and the Magma Dragon" is done and I hope you guys liked it. Volcanis and Natsu Dragneel encountered Layla Heartfilia and her daughter Lucy, and Gajeel Redfox, while God Serena is following the Dragon mother and her human son on the move. Meanwhile, Queen Filomena E. Fiore spending her time with Hisui and members of Gramlush before meeting her eccentric uncle Chandler paying a visit in the royal palace of Mercurius.
Did you really think Jude Heartfilia would just stand by and let his wife Layla suffer and die from Magic Deficiency Disease without getting the best doctors and healers money can buy through the Heartfilia fortune? I know he may have been a flawed man with terrible parenting (which happened after Layla died in the canon) but in the end, he loved his family.
This is the same guy who spent 7 years sending birthday presents and writing letters to his daughter Lucy even though she was under Fairy Sphere-induced stasis at Tenrou Island with her friends of Fairy Tail, and never stopped thinking about her as his pride and joy. Sadly he died one month before Lucy finally returned home.
Regarding Zoldeo, I find it weird that apparently he had Human Subordination Magic, which he used it to fuse himself with Capricorn against his will as breaking the taboo, long before he joined Grimoire Heart and became a member of Hades' Seven Kin of Purgatory. The same elite group who was described to have been personally trained and raised by the former 2nd Guild Master of Fairy Tail to use their respective Lost Magic. So yeah, he does not have his signature Lost Magic until Layla banished him from the Heartfilia household. Whoops. On the bright side, Capricorn's key is with Layla and he can never end up fused with Zoldeo like in canon.
Bet you didn't see that coming huh? Wendy being found and taken in by Queen Filomena instead of being left behind by Mystogan and join Cait Shelter made by Roubaul. Don't worry, she will get Carla eventually. Those two are always inseparable after all.
By the way, Bomb Sentense and Elena Alteria are canon characters and members of Gramlush who were only mentioned in "Fairy Tail Manga: Volume 16, Limited Edition: World Sorcerer Express" as part of the list of The Wizard I'd Like To Be My Boyfriend/Girlfriend's X784 ranking.
As for Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney (or Ryos at the time), the canon Third Generation Dragon Slayers, I have plans for those two guys in the future chapters. For now in the meantime, the boys don't have their Lacrimas implanted into their bodies yet and are still First Generation.
Credits goes to PhantomGalaxy13 whom I borrowed some elements from Chapters 38 and 45 of "The Muggle Among Mages" in this chapter and check out his stories, they are good read.
Enjoy and don't forget to review. :)
