I don't Own Naruto or The Flash
Chapter 2: Captain Cold & Plastique
It's been a week since Naruto woke up and started training in his new powers as a speedster. Naruto had gotten his suit made which with what he had in mind was (Think of Godspeeds suit, but blue with white lightning bolt on the front where the plaque emblem would be.) He decided to go with Velocity as his name with Barry's being the Flash. He was looking forward to training with Barry so they could protect the city and everyone else. Unfortunately Barry didn't have as much time to do that as he did with working in CSI. His friendship with Cisco and Caitlin improved as well. He was somewhat skeptical of Dr. Wells. He didn't know what it was, but he couldn't shake this odd feeling he had with him. He had gotten to know Linda a lot more since they met and would do runs together and had enjoyed each other's company. Naruto hadn't done anything since they had just met and wanted to take things slow. Now we find Naruto and Barry in S.T.A.R. Labs.
"This isn't even remotely anatomically correct." Caitlin said in frustration.
"That's not the point Dr. Snow." Barry said speeding off.
"What's the point then?" She asked.
"To have fun." He answered.
"And to continue your ongoing training by testing the speed of your mind by pushing your ability to multitask." Wells said before Naruto sped over and took his rook, and was back at the the ping pong table and smacked the ball causing it to fly by Cisco getting another point.
"How come Naruto isn't doing the same training as me?" Barry asked continuing his training.
"I'm currently working on some seal weight bands for us to make it harder for us to move to increase our strength and speed. When they're removed you'll be a lot lighter and faster. That and I'm working on suppression seals as I'm curious if it's possible to seal off someone's powers. I know they can be used to seal off chakra, but that's different than what we deal with." Naruto said answering Barry's question.
"And that's checkmate." Dr. Wells said.
"What?" Barry asked.
"Checkmate. Guess you still have a few more things to learn don't we Mr. Allen?" He smirked when the alarm went off.
"Armed robbery on 4th and Colins." Cisco said.
"To be fair I crushed it at Operation and Ping Pong." Barry said speeding off with Caitlin looking at Naruto.
"Are you not going with him." She asked wondering about what he's working on too.
"No. Bare can handle it. I need to finish these so I can make improve our training. He's capable enough to get it done." Naruto aid.
Everyone smiled at him hearing how much confidence he has in his brother even if he's faster.
'He's improving faster than Barry is able too and it's a little nerve wracking.' Dr. Wells thought in worry.
"Can you explain what these seals will do again?" Cisco asked walking over.
"Of course. So these ones here" Pointing to the left ones. will allow me to be able to make it harder for anyone to move around. It'll require you to use your muscles more and will make you stronger and faster. There are different levels ranging from 1-20 and I'm gonna have Bare start at level 1 with me starting at level 3. I used to have them set to 10 at one point, but that was a long time ago when I was used to them and could use chakra. Each level will make it harder each time." Naruto explained as he pointed at the suppression seals. "These ones will allow me to seal a person's meta-humans powers. I haven't had the chance to test them yet and I'm currently the only one who can use them since I'm the only one who can use chakra." He explained turning around to see Cisco grinning at him. "What?"
"Dude those are awesome! It'll make the city a lot safer being able to do that." Cisco said.
"Indeed. Capturing them with these will make things much easier in the long run since Iron Heights isn't able to hold Meta-humans and we won't have to worry if something happens to the prison cells here." Wells said in relief that Naruto had been able to find a way to safely capture meta humans, but secretly nervous with how seals can do just about anything.
"I do my best. I'm going to be increasing my runs in the morning as well so I will be taking longer to get here than normally until I get used to it enough. I also want to try adding some different forms to see how much they'll increase my speed if they will, but I'd rather not have to rely on that as using my base form proves I'm strong without the others." Naruto said.
"Good. Once you're finished with that, you can head over to work on your book." Wells smirked seeing his surprise and Cisco's and Caitlin's curious expressions.
"You know?" Naruto asked.
"Of course I know. It's a great book I'll tell you. I am a fan of it." Wells said.
"What book?" Caitlin asked.
"The Tales of Menma Namikaze." Wells said.
"Really?! You wrote that book?! I loved that book! It's one of my favorites. A boy who was wanting to overcome his struggles and become the leader of the village. Not knowing what he was holding and being lied to about it." Cisco said excited.
"It's very inspiring, how'd you come up with such a story anyway?" Caitlin asked.
"It's based on personal experience." He said getting confused looks. "My birth father's last name is Namikaze. Menma's parents who died the night he was born, was what happened to me instead of Menma. I'm using my time in the Elemental Nations to write the book." He said sadly.
"So you're the Jinchuriki for the Kyuubi?" Cisco asked catching onto what he's saying.
He nods confirming. "Not just him and his name is Kurama, but I also hold all of the Tailed Beasts. All nine of them are sealed in me." Naruto said.
"T-That's crazy! How'd that happen?" Caitlin asked worried for her new friend.
"I'm fine though now considering where I'm at now. And how it happened, you'll have to wait for the books hehe." Naruto chuckled making Caitlin pout at the last bit."
"Anyway. It's behind me now and I'm here now and wouldn't want it any other way. I have a dad and brother who both love me and friends who care about me." Naruto smiled at them with them returning it. "I'm going to head over to the CCPD and see if I can work on my mother's case. Bare should be done by now. I'll see you guys later." He waved goodbye and sped off making Cisco and Caitlin look in worry.
"To think he was the one in the story to endure all of that hate from his village and wrongdoing when it wasn't his fault at all." Caitlin said frowning about the whole thing.
"I know, but I'm glad he's here now to help Barry with everything he's going through." Cisco replied seeing Caitlin nod.
Line Break
Naruto walked into the precinct to see Barry and Joe talking.
"Hey Bare." Naruto called out.
"Naruto? What are you doing here?" Joe asked.
I'm just here to visit and check out the case involving mom with Barry. I won't be here long I promise and you know I keep my promises." Naruto said.
"Fine. I'll let you work on it here for a bit since we don't have any cases going on at the moment." Barry sighed.
"Thanks little brother." He teased patting his back.
"I told you not to call me that here." Barry said smacking his arm away making Naruto laugh.
"It's good to see you kid. What have you been up too since you woke up?" Joe asked.
"Just been working on some stuff for me and Barry to help us." He answered vaguely getting a nod from Joe.
"I see." Joe nodded.
"What are you guys looking at here?" Naruto asked.
"Getting a name to whoever was responsible for today's robbery attempt." Joe answered.
"Gotcha. Any luck in finding out who was there?" Naruto asked.
"We did. We'll tell you more about it at Barry's lab." Joe said.
"And here are Central City's finest. Central City's finest java for Central City's finest in CCPD." They heard someone and turned around to see Iris with three coffee's.
"And none for me Iris? I'm hurt." He put his hand over his heart in mock hurt making Joes and Barry chuckle.
"I'm sorry Naruto. I didn't know you'd be here." Iris apologized.
"Thanks for the coffee." Barry said taking one.
"No thank you. I'm off caffeine." Joe said walking away.
Iris sighed at this.
"He still hasn't forgiven you huh?" Naruto asked.
"My dad's been mad at me ever since I told him about me and Eddie." Iris said following Naruto and Barry to his lab.
"No he's mad at you because you didn't tell him in time." Barry said getting a nod in agreement from Naruto.
"Uh first, that sounds like you're both taking his side, and second do you know how he does this whole, I'm not talking to you, but I have a whole bag "full of judgmental looks I'm gonna try out on you later?" Iris asked."
"Yeah, I've been on the receiving end of those a few times." Barry said walking up the stairs.
"I don't know. I've seen him give you those looks." Naruto snickered getting a mocking glare from them.
"Oh you're so funny." Iris told him sarcastically rolling her eyes.
"Oh I know I am sis. You're just jealous." He grinned.
"I'm with Iris on this." Barry said still glaring at him.
"Speaking of communications, or lack thereof, after all of these journalism classes, I got an idea." Iris said as Naruto and Barry looked at her "I started a blog."
"What's it about? Your brownie obsession?" Barry asked making Naruto laugh knowing how true that is.
"No, something important. Something that Central City needs to know about," Iris said before she jumped in front of them "The Streaks."
They raised an eyebrow. "The Streaks?" Naruto asked.
"They're out there, guys. It started out with just one, but recently there's been sites of being two of them. Rumor has it, one of them stopped an armed car robbery earlier. I was hoping that I could take a look at the file, and..."
"Ain't, happening. Besides I'm not at liberty to discuss an ongoing police investigation with you." Barry said walking toward his lab, while Iris and Naruto followed.
"Since when mister blabber mouth?" Iris asked.
"Since you created a blog." Barry said looking back at Iris. "Blogging about this will bring the crazies out to your door."
"He's not wrong Iris. You sure this is something you want to write about?" Naruto asked.
"My blog is anonymous and I'm sure about it."
"If you say so, just be careful how you go about it okay?" Naruto said getting a shock look from Barry.
"All right, well, anonymous or not, it's not safe. You never know what kind of weirdos are out there trolling on the internet." Barry said walking into his lab.
"I can vouch for that." a familiar voice said in his lab, causing Naruto to look up and see his former girlfriend Felicity Smock "The internet is full of weirdos and nerd rage Lots and lots of nerd rage." she said staring at Naruto in shock who smiled at her.
"N-Naruto? You're awake finally!" She ran into his arms who hugged her as she snuggled into him.
Barry and Iris look at each other than back at them as they release their hug.
"It's so good to see you again Naruto. When did you wake up? You should've texted or called me immediately." Felicity chastised him mockingly.
"It's good to see you again as well Felicity. I'm sorry I never called or anything. I've been busy readjusting and what not. Especially behind in my work catching up with that has been painful." Naruto chuckled when Felicity looked over at Iris and Barry.
"Felicity Smoak."
"Iris West." Shook her hand.
"Um how do you two know each other?" Iris asked curiously.
"We went to MIT together and dated for most of the time we were there until we graduated." Felicity answered.
"Really? Naruto never mentioned it to us." Iris said looking at him shrug in response.
"Wait isn't she the one that worked with you in that unexplainable case?" She asked Barry.
"Yes I am and long story short it was very explainable." Felicity said backing up. "So the lightning bolt came through here?" She asked pointing at the ceiling.
Barry nodded when Joe walked in. "Hey Barry there's something I want you to look at-" He stopped when he saw Felicity. "Felicity it's good to see you again." He smiled at her.
"Hi Mr. West." She said.
"What I tell you about calling me that, come here." Joe said hugging a smiling Felicity as Iris looked confused before he pulled back "What are you doing in Central City?"
"I was coming to see Barry and then go visit Naruto, but since he's awake now that changes things. Speaking of you, I didn't know you worked here as well." She said with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh I don't. I was just visiting them when I saw Iris with them as that was a bonus." He shrugged.
"Well you and I have a lot of catching up to do mister." She pointed at his chest.
He chuckled before hugging her again with her leaning into him. "Yes we do. Sorry guys. We got some catching up to do. Barry I'll see you at S.T.A.R. Labs?" Naruto asked.
Barry nodded as him and Felicity left leaving the three by themselves.
"I know they dated, but they seemed very close." Iris said.
"Oh they're very close. Naruto wanted to marry her, but things happened that pushed them apart, but I can tell they still have feelings for each other." Joe smiled at his "son".
"It's good for him that he has someone who cares for him. I'm always telling him and Barry that they're amazing men." Iris said.
"I'm happy for him. You're not wrong about that regarding him being amazing." Barry said.
Outside of the CCPD
"So you came to see Barry huh? Any particular reason as to why?" Naruto asked raising his eyebrow.
"Oh you know just making sure he was okay and what not. I'm glad you're okay too though." She answered kissing his cheek.
"Are you sure it isn't something else. With how FAST you replied makes me think you know me than you're letting on." He smirked at her.
She was surprised by him catching her, but shouldn't be knowing him since he always knew when she was hiding something.
"How'd you know?" Felicity asked.
"Well Barry told me that Oliver knew about his powers and I figured he would tell you or you would listen in on their talk wanting to know for yourself." He shrugged.
"That makes sense, but why aren't you surprised about him having powers?
"This is why." Naruto told her when held his hand out in front of her and started vibrating it.
"You have powers too?" Felicity said shocked about it.
"That's not all really. I have something to tell you. Only a few people know about this and you wouldn't be able to tell anyone." He said sitting on the couch.
She snuggled up to him missing being able to be close to him like this.
"Sure. What is it?" She asked.
One explanation later
Naruto had told her everything about his past as she was someone he trusted wholeheartedly. He told her about his abilities, how he arrived in this world and what had happened leading up to it. Of course he wasn't going to bring up his childhood as it would terrify her and he wouldn't want to put her through that. She had accepted it all though even knowing he's killed in the past and told him that nothing would change for how she would feel about him.
"Is there anything you're wanting to do today?" Naruto asked her.
""You still have to show me more of your set up." Felicity reminded
"That means going to S.T.A.R. Labs." Naruto sighed.
"Why you say it like that? You don't like them?"
"Cisco, and Caitlin are great, it's Harrison that I'm not sure about." Naruto said.
"What makes you say that? I mean he did save your life." She said.
"I know he did, but that's not it. I don't why, but there's something about him that just makes me nervous when I'm around him."
"Relax, you've always been paranoid, remember your last apartment you thought there were cameras hidden everywhere to watch you. So you moved out."
"It was a gut feeling." Naruto shrugged.
"You can't accuse someone of something without any evidence, Dr. Wells has done nothing but help you, give him a chance." Felicity said
Naruto nodded before he grabbed Felicity by her ass and stood up straight while she gasped and wrapped her legs around his waist. "Why don't we have some fun for a bit, shower, and head to S.T.A.R Labs?" He smirked as she kissed him passionately sneaking her tongue in.
"Fine with me." Felicity said huskily into his ear moving to the bedroom.
4 hours later S.T.A.R. Labs
Naruto and Felicity had walked in S.T.A.R. Labs with satisfied smiles showing her around when they walked into the Cortex seeing Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin talking.
"And this is where we monitors the police bands for criminal activity. We can track anything that's happening in the city. We even have our own satellite."
"I know. I've hacked into it from time to time." Felicity replied causing Naruto to chuckle.
"Rude." Cisco said as he and Caitlin walked over.
"It's about time you two got here. I was expecting you to be here an hour or two ago Naruto. What kept you?" Barry asked
Naruto smirked when Felicity blushed hitting him in the chest.
"I guess that answers that question." Barry deadpanned chuckling.
"It is, of course, so wonderful to see you again, Felicity. I'm just wondering how much of our operation she needs to know about." Caitlin said
"I'm really good at keeping secrets." Felicity replied with a wink
"Yeah, Felicity works with The Arrow." Barry threw in.
"I don't think you were supposed to say anything." Naruto said glancing at Felicity.
"Sweet!" Cisco said excited, while Caitlin looked surprised
"And you apparently are not." Felicity said looking to Barry who was about to speak but an excited Cisco walked over close.r
"Now it's all making sense. You know who The Arrow is." Cisco said before he looked to Barry eagerly "Wait, do you know who The Arrow is?"
Barry shook his head negatively as he noticed Felicity staring at him, before she turned to Cisco and he nodded affirmatively.
"What about you Naruto? Do you know?" Cisco asked the other brother.
"Nope I don't." He answered making Felicity smirk knowing she can scare him.
"Let's just say that my team has a similar set up, but with more pointy objects." Felicity said.
"Welcome, Ms. Smoak." Harrison said in the corridor
" ? The Dr. Wells?" Felicity said in awe,
"Please, call me Harrison, Felicity." Wells said rolling into the cortex
"Oh, you know who I am?" Felicity asked
"Ranked second in the national informative technology competition at age 19, graduated M.I.T. with masters degree in cyber security and computer sciences. I know who you are. I keep an eye out for promising talent in scientific fields. It's what brought me Cisco, Caitlin, Naruto, if he had accepted the job offer, and I foresaw great things from you." Wells said
Felicity with a smile turned to Naruto only to find him gone "Where'd he go?" Felicity asked only for Naruto to speed into the cortex wearing his S.T.A.R. Labs sweatshirt, and jogging pants
"Ok, let's see if I can top my top speed." Naruto said
Moments Later
Felicity, Wells, Caitlin, and Cisco watched as Naruto reached 760 mph, on his treadmill. "How fast can he run?" Felicity asked.
"He's been getting faster at an extraordinary rate, his last recorded top speed was 630 mph." Dr. Wells said.
"He's a show-off." Barry pouted everyone chuckled at the brotherly competition.
"How fast can you go Barry?" She asked.
"Right now. My fastest is 600 mph. He's a slave driver I tell you." He shivered at his brothers training.
"I'm sure he just wants you to be at your best always." Felicity tried to assure him, but one look from everyone told her it was true making her sweat drop knowing how Naruto can be when he would set his mind to something.
"So are Barry and Naruto really okay?" Felicity asked watching Naruto.
"They're heart rates are within normal range, for them." Caitlin said
"No, I mean, the lightning bolt changed them." Felicity said finally looking away to the scientist "Do any of you really know how much?"
"We know a fair amount." Cisco said
"If everything about him is sped up, are they going to age faster? What would happen if he ran too fast? I mean, would he just be running, and then, poof, he's dust in a red costume? What about if Naruto has children one day will they have super speed as well?" Felicity fired off, while Caitlin gained a look at the last question
"Everything we do here at S.T.A.R. Labs is to protect Naruto and Barry Allen. Trust us, Felicity, they are in very good hands here." Harrison said as Felicity nodded before she turned to Naruto who was still running.
"Felicity how exactly did you meet Naruto?" Caitlin asked
"Oh, um, In my freshman year at MIT, we met trying to outdo each other in hacking and it was a lot of fun." Felicity shrugged watching Naruto with a smile "We became friends after that and then we started dating till graduation."
"Oh." Caitlin said turning to Naruto who was still running.
"Hey Naruto! My turn." Barry shouted.
Naruto nodded and slowed down and got off the treadmill letting Barry have a go at it.
After a few minutes of him running he thinks of an idea. "Hey guys check this out." Barry said getting their attention.
"Barry no! I know what you're about to do and that's a terrible idea." Naruto shouted.
"Oh come on man. It'll be fine." Barry reassured him smiling.
"Fine. Fine. Can't wait to tell you I told you so." He smirked making everyone confused. "Just watch and you'll see what my idiot brother is about to do."
True to his word Barry turned around and attempted to run backwards only to trip and fall on the treadmill shooting him straight back.
"I'm not even gonna say anything." He sighed making others chuckle at the brothers antics.
Naruto went and helped Barry up making sure he was alright.
"Why don't you and Felicity head out and catch up. I got some training to do and it might a bit crazy." Naruto said activating his Rinne-Sharingan with everyone seeing those eyes for the first time.
"Woah. What are those Naruto?" Barry asked.
"These are eyes known as two different ones called the Rinnegan and Sharingan. With these I can use different techniques with each eye being different from each other. The Rinnegan has multiple abilities I can do with one being gravity manipulation. With the Sharingan I can use techniques based on different Hindu gods such as Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo. I can also cast illusions on people if I make eye contact with someone who does the same." Those are the basics." He explained shrugging.
'Basics?!' Everyone thought sweat dropping at his nonchalant attitude.
"I want to see these techniques up close!" Cisco excited.
"I'm curious myself and knowing how you are Naruto when you train since we met, you'll overdo it... Again." Caitlin sighed.
"That's fine. I can do that and can't make any promises on going overboard." Naruto grinned.
Caitlin sighed nodding knowing it's useless to argue with him.
Central City Museum
Eddie, and Joe were in the car outside if the museum, waiting for Snart to show up, when Eddie tired of the awkward silence spoke up "Eh, I don't get it. Why would Snart come here?" he asked
"Snart's been deterred before, but once he goes after something, he doesn't stop until he gets it, ever." Joe said simply still looking out the window
"Joe, I want you to know that I'm really serious about Iris. She's an amazing woman, and I can really see myself-"
"I ever tell you about that wild night I had my last day of college?" Joe asked interrupting Eddie who was trying to make his case
"I don't think so." Eddie said
"No? Not even after we kicked back a few beers after work?" Joe asked
"We've never done that." Eddie said
"Oh, right. That's the things I do with my friends, and since we've never done those things we ain't friends." Joe replied looking over to Eddie sternly "So there's actually no reason I need to know about your dating life."
"I just don't want my personal relationship with your daughter to affect our working relationship." Eddie said
"It ain't about you, Eddie. It's about her. So as long as we don't talk about you and her, we will be cool." Joe said looking away
"Maybe we should just listen to the radio." Eddie said turning on the radio
'When a man loves a woman!" Quickly Eddie turned the station 'Let's get it on~' "Quiet is good." he said turning the radio off.
CC Jitters
Iris had just finished serving a customer, when she saw Naruto and Felicity walk in smiling "Hey, you two."
"Hey." Felicity said as Barry nodded
"Where's Naruto at?" Iris asked not seeing her brother figure with them.
"He's back at S.T.A.R. Labs getting more tests done. He's only been out of his coma for a week so he a lot to do to make sure he's okay." Barry explained.
"Good. Would hate for something to happen to him. Despite him pulling pranks on us from time to time." She said eye twitching at the memories of what he'd do to her, Joe, and Barry.
"Oh yeah. Like the time he put hair dye in your shampoo." Barry commented making Felicity giggle knowing how her ex-boyfriend could be like that.
"I completely forgot about that. Remind me to get him back for it sometime." Iris said.
"We should pull one on him since he'd never expect it." Barry smirked along with Iris making Felicity nervous.
"Has Barry been showing you some of the sights in Central City?" Iris asked
Felicity smiled and looked to Barry "Yes, they both shown me some pretty amazing things." she said.
"Really?" Iris asked before she turned and lead them to a table, "Well, if you've got some time, maybe we can show you some of Central City's night life."
"Oh, no. I get plenty of night life in Starling City."
"Oh, this is something that I don't think that you're gonna want to miss." Iris said placing her tray down and turning to the blondes with a flier "Trivia night at Jitters. Eddie's not really excited about it, I admit. But it could be our night, guys."
Barry raised an eyebrow as he took the flier and read it "Our night to win $75 worth of cappuccinos." he said.
"Uh, yum." Felicity said taking the flier before she turned to Barry and said "You know what, I'm gonna go call work, check in, make sure everything's okay. I'll be back in a second."
He nodded before he followed after Iris as Felicity walked away "Why are you doing this?" he asked
"Doing what?" Iris asked
"The trivia night with you and Eddie, forcing this whole double date thing."
"Because that girl is great, and I would make it a triple date if I could find Naruto and a date for him, but he's stubborn about it with his book at the moment. She also happens to come from your very rare species of adorable nerds." Iris said walking behind a counter while Barry looked offended at being called a nerd.
"She still has feelings for Naruto though in case you didn't notice how close they were." Barry said.
"Maybe so, but they don't plan on getting back together anytime soon, and Naruto would understand if you liked her. There aren't many girls out there that truly understand you like she does. Talk to Naruto if you're not sure, but I know he'll be fine with it." Iris said. "Why didn't you tell me more about her?"
"There's nothing to tell." Barry shrugged. "We're just friends." Barry
"No girl would take the train to just visit a friend just bring her tonight. We'll have fun." Iris said
"Yeah, fun." Barry said sarcastically.
Later on
Things had been going well for the group of four enjoying the night in Trivia Night. Lots of laughs were going on and lots of drinks as well when Eddie got a call.
"Someone spotted Snart." he said in surprise before he got up "I gotta go."
When Iris, and Eddie got up Naruto and Felicity walked off "I'll cover for you."
"All right, what are you gonna say?" Naruto asked
"I usually tell people Oliver's at a night club with a girl, or nursing a hangover."
"None of which will work for me." Naruto said turning to face her as they stood outside.
"I'll figure something out." She said as he sped off.
Barry called Naruto in to help out as he was always told it's better to be safe than sorry when it came to situations.
"Naruto. Can you meet me at the museum? Snart was spotted there." Barry said.
"On my way." Naruto said hanging up the phone speeding into his suit and sped off towards the museum.
Museum
Leonard Snart walked down the street, as Joe chased him down quickly heading toward the theatre he was however forced to stop when Joe caught him "Snart!"
Looking over her shoulder Snart saw a squad car in route so he pulled out his new weapon and a ray of white flame hit the street by the squad car, and the Street began to freeze over, causing the cruiser to flip over, luckily Joe managed to get out of the way
Quickly getting to his feet Joe ran into the theatre and began to look for Snart only for Snart to appear behind him and shoot his cold gun at him,
Barry arrived first seeing the weird beam heading for Joe and pushed him out of the way and grunted when the beam hit him in his ribs causing him to fall.
"Are you ok?" Joe asked as Barry pulled himself to a seated position behind a pillar
"I'm breathing, but whatever he hit me with burns like shit." Barry said looking down to his ribs, before he glanced before the pillar to Snart about to shoot so he quickly sped off
Leonard seeing his target looked around at the innocent people "Time for a test run." he said while Barry who was watching him saw him aim at a family causing his eyes to widened before he sped toward them and grabbed them before the beam could hit any of them, getting them to safety Barry rushed around saving people as Snart used them for target practice, while noticing whatever he was hit with was slowing him down, leaning on another pillar Barry's eyes widened when Snart shot at a man walking up from the back.
Barry raced towards the man quickly realizing he won't make it in time when Naruto arrived, but stood in front of the blast with his eyes changing to his Rinne-Sharingan where he activated the first form of Susanoo where a blue rib cage formed around him covering the man as well protecting him, but making Naruto grunt not expecting the blast to be as strong as it was.
Snart seeing this ran off not wanting to risk being caught, but being intrigued at what he just witnessed.
"You okay? That shard of ice doesn't look comfortable." Naruto said concerned.
"I'll be fine. Thanks for the save and for saving this man." Barry said.
"Of course. It's up to us to save all we are able too. I will not allow you to endure the loss of someone dying on your watch. Let's head back to get you checked out." Naruto said with Barry nodding as they both sped off back to S.T.A.R. Labs.
S.T.A.R. Labs
Barry was sitting shirtless in the medical room, while Caitlin examined the large black spot on his ribs as everyone watched "It's still numb." he told Caitlin
"It's presenting itself like third degree frostbite." Caitlin said as she walked to a monitor "If your cells weren't regenerating at the rate they are, your blood vessels would have frozen solid and the nerve damage would have been permanent. You're lucky to be alive."
"I'm not the only one lucky. Naruto was there to for the save when he got to the last one in time. He also shouldered the blast using one of his Sharingan techniques that he mentioned earlier. It was so cool." Barry said.
"Really? I wish I could've seen it myself, but we'll have to wait for another time to see it in action." Cisco said.
"Snart wasn't another meta-human. He has some kind of gun. It froze things, slowed me down. Enough that I wasn't in time to save someone." Barry said as Caitlin gave him the ok, to get a shirt
"According to his record, Snart didn't even bother to finish high school, so how did he build a handheld high tech snow machine?" Felicity asked as Barry put in a shirt
"S.T.A.R. Labs built the cold gun." Wells said causing Barry, Naruto and Felicity to look as to look at him before they looked to Cisco who stepped forward.
"Dr. Wells and Caitlin had nothing to do with this. I built the gun." Cisco confessed
"You did? Why?"
"Because speed and cold are opposites. Temperature is measured by how quickly the atoms of something are oscillating."
"The faster they are, the hotter it is, and when then are cold, they're slower on the atomic level. When there's no movement at all, it's called Absolute zero." Naruto finished the science lesson for him
"Yeah. I designed a compact cryo engine to achieve absolute zero. I built it to stop you." Cisco said as Naruto watched him "I didn't know who you were then, Nate. I mean, what if you turned out to be some psycho, like Mardon or Nimbus?"
"I get why you built the gun, Cisco." Barry said. "What you should've done was tell us about it Cisco. I thought we were friends." Barry said getting angry.
"We are friends Barry." Cisco tried to say.
"If someone were to have died today." Barry started.
"I know Barry and I would've had to live with that." Cisco said.
"No we all we would have to live with it." He said walking off.
"I'll go talk to him. Don't worry Cisco, I get it completely. I trust you and everyone else with my life. Next time, let us know ahead of time okay?" Naruto said putting a hand on his shoulder with a smile.
Cisco nodded in gratitude for his trust and understanding.
Later on
Barry was using the treadmill to work out his frustrations when he heard Naruto.
"You alright Bare?" Naruto asked.
"I'm fine Naruto. Just frustrated is all." Barry said.
"You know Cisco meant the best of intentions when he made the weapon right? His only mistake was losing it to Snart."
"I know. He just didn't trust us to tell us about it."
"It's cause he most likely forgot about it when he found out who you and I were with the kind of people we were so he didn't need it." He said putting a hand on his shoulder. "Let's move on from this. I can tell you're still frustrated. How about a sparring match? Hand to hand. it's about time I teach you a start to teach you a fighting style that would be perfect for us knowing how fast we are now." Naruto said.
Barry raised his eyebrow at this. "What's the style called?"
He smirked. "Hummingbird style. He relies on speed and quick attacks. It's the style that my birth father Minato Namikaze used and created so we're the first users aside from him to learn it. Hope you're ready because it won't be easy." He smirked.
Barry paled at the smirk knowing it would be a long sparring session for him and enjoyable for his brother.
Two brutal hours later
Naruto had gone through the basic stances for the style and was impressed with how quickly he was getting it down. Now we find them back in the Cortex with everyone trying to figure out how to track Snart.
"Woah what happened to you?" Cisco asked seeing a bruised Barry.
This got everyone's attention as to what had happened when they looked at Naruto.
"We merely sparred. I started teaching him a hand to hand fighting style that would be perfect for him. I went easy on him for his first day with it." Naruto said.
"Right. Well we've been trying to track Captain Cold and I think we found a way to do that." Cisco said.
"You gotta stop naming these guys." Catlin said as everyone looked at him
"How?" Barry asked
"The cold gun is powered by an engine control unit, a microcomputer that regulates air-to-fuel ratios so the sub-cooled fluid in the chambers don't overflow and-" Cisco started saying.
"Explode." Naruto finished.
"Right. This E.C.U. was receiving updates wirelessly from my tablet. If I boost the signal using Central City's network and send a false update, we'll get a ping back, and then-"
"We can locate Snart." Wells finished for Cisco.
"Great work Cisco." Naruto told him.
"How long will it take?" Barry asked
"First I have to hack into the City's network, so I don't know, 30 minutes, maybe?" Cisco said at a computer as Felicity walked to her laptop
"I can do it in less than one." Felicity announced sitting down "When it comes to hacking, I'm the fastest woman alive." Felicity popped her knuckles and shook her hands with a grimace "Ow! That was not as badass as I pictured." she said as Naruto smiled while watching her work "All right, I'm in."
"Are you kidding?" Caitlin asked as she, Wells, and Cisco looked at Felicity in awe.
"All right, I'm sending the updates. We're connected." Cisco said
"Network is triangulating the location."
"We got him. He's heading west on Nelson toward the train station." Caitlin said
"If he's leaving, it appears Mr. Snart may have gotten what he came for." Wells said, as Naruto put on his suit and sped off
"Naruto, Barry, you have to get to him before he fires the you." Cisco said
"..."
"Guys, do you copy?" Cisco asked before he sighed "Barry turned his coms off, but Naruto still has his on."
"I'll keep an eye on him. Make sure he doesn't get himself killed." Naruto sighed.
'I wish Barry would let this grudge go.' He thought to himself.
Central City Train Station
"All available units, suspect spotted at Central City train station."
Eddie and Joe pulled up to the train station and got out "We got Snart." Eddie said excitedly before he and Joe ran toward the entrance when Joe turned to him
"Wait here for back up." Joe ordered before running off
"Wait for back up? No way." Eddie said
"That's an order." Joe shouted running.
S.T.A.R. Labs
Felicity sighed before she looked to Caitlin and Cisco who were monitoring Naruto's vitals "You should go after them."
"He wants to do this alone." Caitlin said.
"He has Naruto with him so he should be fine." Cisco said.
"Of course, he wants to. You're his team and his friends even if Naruto is with him doesn't mean you can't help them." Felicity said walking over to them "If I had a nickel for every time The Arrow told me to back off, I would be as rich as Oliver Queen, who I mention because he's the richest person I know, or used to be. The point is, you have your partner's back no matter what."
Caitlin and Cisco looked at each other "I have something that might help." Cisco said with a smirk.
Central City Train Station
Joe was on the platform running with his gun drawn, looking for Snart as he was running he turned and jumped seeing Snart aiming his cold gun at him before he could fire a bullet whizzed passed his head causing Snart to duck and run before Joe saw Eddie run up "I'm your partner, not your assistant."
An impressed Joe joined Eddie as they chased Snart who jumped on the train, before they could do the same it was already gone, causing them to sigh, before a red blur sped pass them.
Train
Naruto and Barry approached the train at great speeds.
"Bare. We gotta take this guy with a plan." Naruto said not getting a response from him. "Barry?" He asked still nothing.
Barry sped onto the train beside Snart, and stopped in front of him "There's nowhere to run." Barry said
"I didn't see you before." Snart said looking at Barry who stood up "Your mom know you're out past your bedtime?" He smirked. "I've seen your weakness at the armored car, then at the theater with your friend. See, while you're busy saving everybody, I'll be saving myself."
Barry made to rush forward, but Smart had used his cold gun on the floor, causing him to step back as Snart caused the wheels to freeze over
"Good luck with that." Snart yelled jumping out if the train just before it derailed
Barry took a deep breath before he shot off, grabbing everyone along with Naruto they could and getting them off the train, to safety, getting the last person off the train Barry rushed back toward where Snart had jumped off but before he could do anything a blast from the Cold gun was sent towards him. He would've been hit if Naruto hadn't jumped in the way to take the hit for him causing Naruto to yell in pain having his chest and shoulder hit by the cold gun instead. Snart walked towards the down blonde.
"Pretty fast, but not fast enough." Smart said as he shot Barry as well causing him to groan, as he fell back "Thank you."
"For what?" Barry asked with a grunt as he sat up
"You forced me to up my game, not only with this gun, but with how I think about the job. It's been educational." Snart said about to shoot them again.
"Drop it." Cisco said holding a large weapon as Felicity, and Caitlin carried a piece behind him "This is a prototype cold gun, four times the size, four times the power, so unless you want a taste of your own medicine, I'd back the hell up."
"Your hands are shaking." Snart said looking at Cisco over his shoulder "You've never killed anyone."
"There's a first time for everything, Captain Cold." Cisco said as Snart smiled at the name "I will shoot you."
Snart nodded before he backed up "You win, kid. I'll see you around."
"Hey, leave the diamond." Cisco said
"Don't push your luck." Snart said leaving.
After a minute, Cisco dropped the gun, and turned to the two speedsters who was looking at him "Couldn't shoot him if I wanted to. This is actually the S.T.A.R. Labs vacuum cleaner with a lot of L.E.D's."
"Naruto are you okay? You took the hit for me when you could've stopped him instead. Why?" Barry asked.
"You're my brother. It's my job to keep you safe if I can. Gah this hurts like hell." He groaned.
"I'm sorry I didn't listen to you. If I had than things would've been different." Barry said looking down ashamed.
"Bare. It's okay. These things happen. Just take this as a learning experience so nothing like this happens again." Naruto said with a grin. "We should probably get this back shouldn't we?" Pulling out the diamond.
"Nice steal." Cisco said chuckling.
"Let's get you both warmed up, more specifically you Naruto since you got hit more." Caitlin said with a smile.
"Thank you." Naruto said.
"Thank you as well Cisco." Barry said getting help up from him.
Later (S.T.A.R. Labs)
Everyone was in the cortex, trying and failing to track Snart "We've been trying to track Snart, but he must have disconnected the signal somehow." Cisco said with a sigh
"We'll find him, Cisco, together." Barry said placing a hand on his shoulder with Naruto smiling from the side.
"You have a great team here, guys." Felicity said causing Naruto and Barry to turn to her "Speaking of teams, I should probably get back to mine."
Naruto made to speak, but Wells beat him to it "It was nice meeting you, Ms. Smoak. Please extend a hello to The Arrow for us."
"I will." Felicity said with a smile as Naruto walked up to her.
"Good-bye, Felicity." Naruto grinned with Barry saying bye as well watching the two interact knowing that her and they'd be better off as friends.
"Bye, Naruto." Felicity smiled before she and Naruto hugged each other goodbye.
Watching her leave, Naruto sighed before Wells said "Remarkable young woman. She's special."
"Yeah, she is." Naruto said with a nod before he walked off
Later (Train)
A train heading for Starling City carried only Felicity who was looking at a picture of her and Naruto from college, hearing a bump, Felicity looked back and seeing nothing turned back to see Naruto smiling as he sat across from her causing her to yelp, which caused Naruto to laugh
"Did I just yelp?" Felicity asked
Naruto still laughing nodded "Yeah. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
"Don't tell me you're here to save me."
"Naw, just to talk is all." Naruto said leaning forward "I wanted to say, that it was great having you in Central City despite everything that happened.
Felicity with a smile leaned forward also "It was great to see you too." she said kissing him passionately, before she pulled away leaning her forehead against his."
Felicity smiled, as she leaned into Naruto's palm "I know you have feeling so for Oliver and I'm not mad. I told you to live your life, and not to put it on pause for me. I should probably go back and kick my own ass, but your happiness means the world to me." Naruto said with a soft smile.
Felicity cupped Naruto's cheeks in her hands with a smile as she said "I know and I'm sorry.
Naruto smiled a little brighter and kissed her again before he pulled away "It's ok. I will always be here for you no matter what your heart decides. Your worth it and always will be."
Felicity smiled before Naruto moved to the seat next to her and wrapped wrapped his arms around her as she laid her head on his shoulder
"Don't you have somewhere to be?" Felicity asked
"I have super speed, I'm always a few minutes away." Naruto said.
Felicity smiled and cuddled up to Naruto, as a comfortable silence settled between them, before they kissed one final time before he left.
She looked out the window seeing the white lightning trailing.
"I love you Naruto. Bye." She said.

One Month Later

Naruto and Barry sat at the bar, with bored expressions, it's been a month since Snart got away, and he has yet to make a reappearance, in that month Naruto and Barry had upped their training. Barry's hand to hand was coming along nicely. Not as good as his or his dad's was, but was getting there. Naruto and Barry had gotten fast enough to run up buildings and water despite Naruto already being able to do that with chakra, but was nice being able to without it. Their speed had increased as well by leaps as bounds with Naruto improving to 1050 mph and Barry's was 820 mph now. Naruto pushed him to improve so he would be able to continue to help everyone.
His friendship with Caitlin and Cisco had grown stronger, he had taken an more active role in teaching them to start to defend themselves, seeing as Snart knew what they looked like.
Currently Naruto was at a bar with Barry, Caitlin, Cisco, Eddie, and Iris, sitting at the bar, a bit bummed out seeing as he had a bottle of scotch, a glass of Ciroc, a few shots of Jack Daniels, and Hennessy but he didn't even feel buzzed, looking up Barry saw Iris walking over.
"I'm glad you invited Caitlin, and Cisco." Iris said
"They're cool, right?" Barry asked looking over to the two as they sat at a table
"They saved your life, guys. That makes them the coolest people I've ever met." Iris said smiling before she got a shot glass "It's nice that you guys became friends." Naruto smiled as he raised a shot glass "To friends, old and new."
The three tapped their glasses together before they took the shot "Ooh. I'm up. Wish me luck."
Naruto nodded before Iris walked away to meet Eddie who handed her 3 darts, turning to Barry who was frowning.
"You still love her don't you?" Naruto whispered.
"W-What?" Barry stuttered.
Naruto chuckled at the expression.
"Bare. It's not hard to tell when we've known each other for years and we've lived with Joe and Iris since that night. For now though be happy for her and support her in this. Let's go join Cait and Cisco." He said with Barry nodding.
Naruto turned back to the bartender he asked "Can I get 10 shots of bourbon?"
"Coming right up." the bartender said
Getting his shots, Naruto took the tray to Caitlin and Cisco "Guys? We have a problem." he said referring to him and Barry
"We all do when guys like him exist." Cisco said looking at Eddie as he gulped his beer
"Sure, he's cute, but Naruto's hotter." Caitlin said watching Iris and Eddie before she processed when she said and looked to Naruto, Barry, and Cisco who were watching her "Uh, I mean, genetically speaking. Because I'm a geneticist, of course. Oh, my God, do I sound like Felicity?"
Naruto with a smirk shook his head before Barry said "We're not talking about Eddie. We're talking about this." in a blur of speed Naruto and Barry knocked back all 5 shots each. "We can't feel anything."
"Yeah, that's usually what happens when you drink too much." Cisco said as he and Caitlin smiled at their friends who shook their heads.
"No, the alcohol is not affecting us. We're not getting buzzed, or tipsy. This literally sucks. " Naruto said
"It's your hyper-metabolism." Caitlin said smiling before she turned to her purse "I need a sample."
"I'll get more shots." Cisco said going to the bar
"I swear, I had a Vacutainer here." Caitlin said looking through her purse
"Wait, you carry a blood collection kit in your purse?" Barry asked with a raised eyebrow
"You have your hobbies." Caitlin said
"I don't know if I would count that as a hobby." Naruto said before he leaned forward toward her as she continued checking her purse "So you think I'm hot huh?'
Caitlin paused and looked to Naruto with a blush "Y-yeah from a genetic standing."
"Thank you, I think your pretty hot too." Naruto causing her blush to deepen.
Moments Later
Cisco came back with 4 shots to see Caitlin blushing heavily as Naruto was smiling with a shrug he set the tray down and Barry shaking his head. "OK let's do this." he said, before the four friends each grabbed a glass, and tapped them together before they knocked it back "Still nothing?"
"Nothing, this shouldn't be happening. I'm only 25 and Naruto is 26, and my drinking days are over." Barry said.
"Well before I became a speedster, it was hard for me to get drunk already because of the furball." Naruto said pointing at his stomach getting knowing nods from the other three.
Eddie got his attention "Come on, Barry. You're up." He was about to walk over but paused when Eddie's phone buzzed "There was a bombing on 8th and Pass."
The group of four shared a look, as Eddie kissed Iris "I got to go, babe."
"Okay." Iris said watching her boyfriend leave before she headed to her purse "I've got an early shift at Jitters. Barry, we'll catch up tomorrow."
Naruto and Barry looked to Caitlin, and Cisco as Iris left before they headed out as well, and sped off.
8th and Pass
Naruto and Barry zipped through the streets of Central City before they came up to a rooftop across the way from the burning building as a fire raged out of control.
"Ok. Watch this Bare. You're about to see some Ninjutsu from my old world." Naruto said with a grin as he went through hand signs before, "Water Style: Water Wave." He mutter shooting a wave of water from his mouth at the burning building.
"That was awesome dude. What now?" Barry asked.
"You tell me. I'm not gonna give you all the answers." Naruto told him.
After a minute Barry had an answer. "Hm. We should go down below to check for anyone surrounding the building."
"Good. You can take one side of the building and I'll take the other side." Naruto said.
Taking a deep breath, they took deep breaths before they sped down to the bottom.
On the street below Iris got out of her cab, and looked around.
Walking to the side Barry's eyes widened when he saw a window washer hanging on for dear life, as he dangled from his suspended platform, and his method for taking care of the fire didn't do the man any favors along with one of the guards that was inside the building was hanging over the edge.
"God dammit." Naruto said before he shot forward along with Barry knowing who to go after.
Iris jumped when a red streak along with a white streak shot pass her before it ran up the side of the building, with a smile she ran around so she could get a closer look
"Help! Aah!" the window washer screamed as he began to fall but luckily Barry grabbed him and ran back down into an alley with Naruto following suit.
Setting the man down, as the platform slammed into the ground, Barry stood up and prepared to leave, but paused when he saw Iris standing there looking at him in shock and awe
Barry didn't say anything, but vibrated to cover his face.
Naruto's Apartment
Naruto grabbed all of his needed equipment before he took a shower and sat at the counter of his kitchen eating some cereal at super speed, before he left the house and took the elevator down to Linda's floor, and walked to her door and knocked, before he noticed something, and sped off and came back just as the door opened now holding a fresh coffee from Jitters, while he had a Gatorade.
"Hey." Linda smiled as Naruto gave her the coffee
"Hey." Naruto smiled as he stepped back so Linda could walk out and lock her door before the two walked away smiling.
Cortex (S.T.A.R. Labs)
Naruto was on the treadmill trying to surpass his fastest which was 1,050 mph, but was getting frustrated at his progress being halted so he decided to take a break from it. He got off and thought about what else he could do with his speed when he thought about the times he could vibrate and wondered he could vibrate through objects or people like Obito could with his Kamui ability.
Naruto than steadied his breathing to focus on him soley. He started vibrating his entire body and when it was enough, he approached a desk and started walking through it and grinned at the success and would need to talk to Barry about this new development. He continued working on this for the next hour wanting to perfect it.
1 Hour Later (S.T.A.R. Labs)
Naruto had finished his training and was in the cortex with Caitlin, and Cisco when Barry walked in and began telling them about the bombing case.
"C.C.P.D's been ordered off the case, before I could even begin to investigate." Barry said
"Well, who has the power to do that?" Caitlin asked
"The army. Some general, name is Eiling." Barry said
"General Wade Eiling." Harrison said rolling into the cortex
Naruto looked at the man and asked "You know him?"
"Yeah, I know him. About ten years ago, General Wade Eiling contracted S.T.A.R. Labs to develop enhanced gene therapies for soldiers." Harrison said causing Naruto to raise an eyebrow "I was interested in the potential medical benefits for civilians. General Eiling really wanted to develop mind reading capabilities for interrogation purposes. I stopped the study when I saw his techniques up close, but our split was less than amicable."
Naruto scowled at this as it reminded him of Danzo Shimura and instincts were telling him that there was a lot more to the story then they were being told, but taking Felicity's advice he let it go for the time being.
"He took all the evidence I collected on the bombing. Everything but the folder." Barry said handing Wells the folder
"Well, lucky for us, the VA finally joined the new millennium and digitized their records." Cisco said turning to his computer and bringing up what they needed, "A lot of redacted info. But our girl's name is Bette Sans Souci, an EOD specialist for the army."
"EOD?" Caitlin asked
"Bombs." Cisco said
"Is there an address?" Naruto asked
"Hold on...Here, we go. One person in case of emergency. Cameron Scott. Inglewood." Cisco said getting a nod from Naruto and Barry before they sped off
Inglewood
Bette Sans Succi walked down the fire escape of an apartment taking extra care to not touch anything, walking down the alleyway, she jumped in surprise when Barry appeared in front of her "Bette Sans Souci?"
Bette jumped and ran the other way when Barry sped in front of her again.
"Don't touch me." Bette said only it was to late as Barry grabbed her arm, but she tapped the emblem on the suit,
He let go of her as he noticed his suit turning purple "The hell?" he asked
"Get whatever you're wearing off of you." Bette said urgently causing Barry to look at her with an raised eyebrow "Hurry."
With a shrug he sped down the alley and quickly got out of the suit moments before it exploded.
Naruto then approached her raising his hands. "I need you to listen to me Bette. I won't touch you as I saw what you did to my friend there, but I do need you to come with me. I can help you." He said.
"What makes you think you can?" She asked.
"Because what happened to you happened to me and my friend as well." He said.
She stared at him for a few moments before she accepted and they sped off.
Moments Later (S.T.A.R. Labs)
"Barry?" Cisco asked as he didn't respond "Can you hear me? Barry?"
"There must be a perfectly reasonable explanation for why he's not answering." Caitlin said to Cisco before she tried "Nathan!" she yelled only to look up to see Naruto walking in putting on a shirt "Uh.."
"Don't ask." Barry said
"I'm gonna ask. Where's my suit?"
"It's...gone." Barry said slowly
"What do you mean, it's gone? What did you do with my suit?"
"It blew up, dude." Barry sighed as Cisco's eyes widened "I managed to get out of it before it went, "kaboom."
"My suit went "kaboom"?" Cisco asked scandalized
"Fun fact about Bette Sans Souci. She's not carrying bombs. She touched the emblem on the suit and turned it into a bomb. She's a meta-human." Barry said.
Naruto and Bette appeared. "I know she is and we're going to help her figure her powers out." He said approaching the group.
"With the ability to cause spontaneous combustion upon tactile contact." Wells said rolling into the cortex
Cusco turned to Wells "She blew up my suit."
"You have, like, three more." Caitlin reminded
"Okay, I have two. And I loved that one." Cisco corrected.
"I don't think she meant to hurt me." Barry said looking at her "But her being a meta-human explains Eiling's interest in her."
"And why he stole the case from us." Joe said walking in "He didn't want anyone to know what she could do."
"Detective." Wells nodded in greeting
"Doctor." Joe returned before he looked at the computer with Bette's photo "So Human bomb. Must be Tuesday in Central City."
"Yes, and General Eiling's not one to give up a potential asset without a fight." Wells said
"Which is she is here now with us so we can help her keep her away from Eiling. He reminds me too much of a war mongrel I once knew." Naruto said
"Barry?" Joe asked
"Yeah?"
"Can I see you for a second?" Joe asked before he walked out and with a sigh Barry followed after him with Naruto raising an eyebrow before shrugging it off for now.
"When were you planning on telling me that Iris saw The Streak?"
"That was not planned. She caught me off guard." Barry said
"We had a deal. You keep her in the dark about the meta-humans, and I don't go Floyd Mayweather on you." Joe said
"I know Joe. She wouldn't listen to me. I really tried." Barry replied.
"You need to try harder."
"I already talked to her about that." Barry said.
"Talk to her again. And be more convincing." Joe said
"I'll think of something, Joe just give me some time." Barry said getting a nod from Joe before the man walked off before with a sigh Naruto sped off,
Cortex
"As the detonation dispersed throughout Central City. A number of people were exposed to a wave of unquantifiable energy." Wells said as he showed Bette a 3D version of his particle accelerator exploding "One of those people... Was you."
"You were in Central City ten months ago?" Naruto asked in his civilian clothes.
"I had just returned from Afghanistan." Bette said as Caitlin handed her some gloves "I was there defusing roadside bombs and Shrapnel ripped through me. I was flown back state side. Spent months at the base recuperating and next thing I know, I became the thing that almost killed me. And Eiling's favorite, new lab rat."
"The dark matter must have combined with the bomb particulate inside your body." Caitlin said
"I thought Eiling did this to me." Bette said.
"Nope, he did." Naruto said pointing to Harrison who frowned, "And from what I gathered Eiling isn't smart enough to create someone like you. A war hawk clever enough to see your value, though."
"Do you know of any others who were changed?" Bette asked
"There've been a few." Caitlin said
"But no one that looks like you." Cisco said dreamily causing Naruto to sigh as Cisco snapped out of his daze "I'm sorry. That was inappropriate...Please don't leave."
"I know how to perform a lobotomy." Caitlin whispered to Cisco who shifted away from her uncomfortably
Later
Bette was in the med room with Caitlin getting looked at, while Wells, Cisco, and Naruto looked at her vitals and the shrapnel in her body "Her cellular structure's unlike anything I've ever seen."
"Her nitrogen levels are off the charts." Barry said looking at a monitor "Do you think we can help her?"
"To answer that question, we have to understand how she works, and to understand that, first we have to study her in action." Wells said
"You want her to blow stuff up. Yes, now we're talking." Cisco said excited
"Not in here. She's too unstable." Wells said
"I know." Cisco said looking at Wells
'I know you know." Wells smirked
Naruto was watching the monitor intently with his back to Wells and Cisco "A suppression seal might help her or if we could reduce the amount of shrapnel in her body. Either one could work I'd need to ask Cait about it.
Later (Airfield)
Naruto, Barry, Caitlin, and Cisco watched as Bette used her powers, to blow up toys "Her Trauzl rating is around 45. That's the same as any plastique. Plastique. Ha first try!" Cisco cheered
"Didn't really think this one through, did you?" Caitlin asked holding up a boomerang
Naruto and Bette were walking together down the air field "Downrange, insurgents started booby trapping cars. The rest of my tour, I was terrified to touch another vehicle. Now, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life terrified to touch another human being." Bette said before she looked to Naruto "Have they tried to help you?"
"Yeah, they've helped me learn how to use my powers. Not to get rid of them."
"If they could reverse it so you weren't a meta-human, would you?" Bette asked
"My powers get me closer to the murderer of mine and Barry's mother. So until we find him we can't give it up." Naruto said getting a nod from Bette "You can control your abilities, Bette, something triggers them, be it your fear of contact, or some other emotions or psychological trigger. You'll get control of this, I'll help you in whatever way I can. I can however do one thing if it comes down to it is to put what is called a suppression seal on you to keep your powers suppressed so you wouldn't be able to use them, but I truly believe you can learn to control and use them to help others. Until than though, let's see if we can find a different solution since it's a last resort."
Bette smiled at Naruto who returned it. "Thank you. Why do you think it could be used to help people?" She asked.
"I remember training to control a certain power and I always believed it to be something that would only cause pain and suffering, but it took someone to help me understand that it could be used like yours can do the same good." Naruto explained getting a nod from her.
"We'll continue to work together to control your abilities. Whatever results they get from our studying don't give up or let it stop you from moving forward." He said.
"Thank you." Bette said kissing his cheek and hugging him as they walked back to the others as she never noticed a Hiraishin seal was placed on her neck.
Back to Barry, Caitlin, and Cisco. Barry got a call from joe. "Hello?" He said.
"You need to talk to Iris now." Joe said urgently
"Why what's going on?" Naruto asked
"She just posted another story about The Streak."
"Ok?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow
"She's got her name on it now, Barry."
"What?" Barry asked in shock "Joe, I'll call you later. I'll talk to her."
"What was that about?" Cisco asked walking over as Naruto walked to them.
"Iris posted about The Streaks again, but this time she signed her name to it."
"Oh, that's not good. If one of these bad meta-humans we're dealing with figures she knows something,"
"Then they may target her, I know." Barry sighed.
"What are you going to do?" Cisco asked.
"Do you want me to try talking to her?" Naruto asked bringing in his thoughts.
"No it's fine I'll do it. I guess it's time the Streak talks to her." Barry said before he looked to Cisco "Tell Bette, and Caitlin I'll be back."
Cisco nodded before Barry sped away
Later (CC Jitters)
Iris was alone, as she went about cleaning the place up, when she heard the door chimes ring signaling someone had entered "Sorry, we're closed."
"That's to bad, I hear you guys serve the best coffee in the city."
Iris paused at the vibrating voice and turned around to see Naruto in his suit standing there looking at her "Oh, my God, it's you...You are real." Iris said wishing she could call Naruto at this moment but he's been MIA for the last 2 days "I should, um...Let me just clean up,"
Immediately Barry sped around and cleaned up the dining area causing her to jump, and look around in awe, as he stood by the door "Meet me on the roof. I'll give you a head start."
Iris with an excited grin turned around and ran up to the roof
He sped up to the rood to see Iris walk out and look around "I need you to stop writing about me and my friend."
Iris jumped and turned to see Barry leaning on a ledge "There are a lot of people who need people like you two right now. To know that you're out there."
Iris watched as the man tilted his head. "I have so many questions. Where are you from?"
"Far away." Barry said vaguely
"Who are you?" Iris asked
"I can't answer that either." Naruto said
"How can you do what you do?" Iris asked only for the man to shrug his shoulders "You're a terrible interview."
"Listen to me Ms. West. There's more to this than you can understand. I need you to stop." Barry said
"Can you stop? Running into buildings and rescuing people without them even knowing that you're there?"
"This isn't about glory for me." Barry said
"So why do you do this?" Iris asked only for Barry to stay silent "Look, I have this friend, and he had something terrible happen to him when he was a kid." Barry looked at Iris in surprise "His whole life, him and his brother have been telling stories about this impossible thing. And people laughed at the, shrinks analyzed them. And they've been searching for an explanation ever since. But now, suddenly, it's like one of them lost his faith in everything. But you you are proof that they wasn't crazy. Help me save my friend."
"They sound like a lucky guys." Barry said leaving the rooftop.
Next Day (S.T.A.R. Labs)
Naruto and Barry walked into the cortex to see everyone looking troubled "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked before he looked to Bette, "Did fat ass find out you were here?"
Bette cracked a smile, even though she was sad and shook her head "No. Caitlin was about to give me the not-so-good news."
Naruto looked to Caitlin who looked to Bette sadly. "The shrapnel in your body has merged with you on a cellular level."
"And the technology required to unsplice your DNA it hasn't been invented yet." Wells said as Bette began to tear up.
"Bette." Barry said taking a step forward.
"No, it's okay. Roger that." Bette said taking a deep breath "I just need a minute. Don't worry. Pretty sure I can cry without blowing stuff up."
Naruto watched as Bette walked off, to cry in private. "I'm gonna go talk to her." Naruto said walking away to comfort her.
"What now?" Cisco asked
Wells made to speak, but Barry beat him to it "She joins us. Becomes a part of the team." he said
"Barry, you and Naruto have an amazing ability to help people. She makes things explode." Caitlin said
"She's the first meta-human not hell-bent on destroying this city." Naruto replied
"It's too dangerous." Wells said
'Well, she's not going in the pipeline."
"I'm not suggesting she go in the pipeline, but were she to remain at S.T.A.R. Labs, it would put all of us at risk." Wells said.
"We can't let Eiling get her as she hates him." Barry said.
"Eiling is a dangerous man, Barry. We do not want him as an enemy." Wells said
"He came after Bette, he's already an enemy." Barry said walking off, causing Wells to sigh
Outside
Naruto walked out to see Bette by the gate looking at the horizon, walking over he stood beside her as she sniffled looking at the ocean, wrapping an arm around her Naruto brought her into a hug, as she began to sob into his chest clutching the back of his shirt tightly.
Later (CCPD Crime Lab)
Barry walked into the lab to see Joe looking over some evidence "Joe, what are you still doing here?" he asked
"Going over the materials in your mom's case." Joe said closing the box before he sipped his coffee and looked to Barry. "How's it going with you?"
"Great, befriended someone who can make things explode, and I finally diagnosed why Iris is writing about The Streak." Barry said getting an interested look from Joe "She's doing it for me and Naruto. To prove the impossible is possible."
"How do you know that?" Joe asked
"The Streak talked to her." Barry shrugged.
"Barry, don't you think Iris would recognize your voice?"
"No, I can do this cool thing with my vocal cords, where I vibrate them so I sound like this." Barry said causing Joe to laugh "I know. It's cool, it's cool."
"Whoa." Joe said as he finally stopped laughing and sighed "Well, you put that out there now, so. I want to keep her safe."
"You know the only real way to get her to stop is to tell her the truth." Barry replied
"Man, you really want to tell her." Joe said
"I tell her everything." Barry shrugged
"Mm not everything."
"Like what?" Naruto asked
"You haven't told her that your in love with her." Joe said causing Barry to scoff, before he saw Joe give him a look causing him to frown
"W-wait you knew?"
"I used to watch you and her give each other longing looks when you thought each other wasn't looking, then one day it just stopped."
"How long have you known?" Barry asked wide eyed.
"I've known since you were old enough to know what love was." Joe shrugged
Barry shook his head "Yeah, well now, she's happy and with someone else, that's all that matters."
"When the universe wants to make something happen, whether it be giving a young man lighting speed or putting two people together, it has a way of figuring those things out." Joe said getting a nod from Barry before he stood up and the two hugged "And I got to get home."
Joe stepped back and pointed to his throat and began to laugh before he walked off.
Barry chuckled before he grabbed a cup, and walked to the coffee machine and walked back to his desk before he opened the box to his mom's case, and began to look through it at a slow pace, hours went by before Barry took a large gulp of coffee.
Next Day (S.T.A.R. Labs)
Naruto and Barry walked into the cortex with a duffel bag, after Naruto's phasing debacle yesterday, he had gotten a few hundred thousand from the sales of his book to get her enough money to get out of the country so she could be free and live a normal life if she didn't want to stay with the team.
Stopping Naruto dropped the duffel as they saw Cisco and Caitlin looking disappointed "Where's Bette?"
"She left." Cisco said
"What do you mean? Where did she go?" Naruto asked
"She didn't say." Wells said rolling over
"Where the hell could she be?" Barry asked
Waterfront
Bette stood watching the ocean, with a small smile, Naruto had offered to take her anywhere in the world she wanted to go, and she was all for it, but Wells, had come and told her that Eiling was an enemy of anyone with abilities, and they were her people now so she had to protect them, hearing the convoy arriving she took a deep breath as she readied herself
"Go, go!" the soldiers got out of the car, and trained their weapons on her when Eiling walked forward
"On me." Eiling said
"I'm ready to give myself up." Bette said turning around
"Oh, I highly doubt that. You think you can pull one over on me? You can't." Eiling said smugly "Stand down, soldier."
S.T.A.R. Labs
"I got back on the military feed. Looks like they've gone to the waterfront to rendezvous with Bette. She's turning herself in." Cisco said
"She's not turning herself in." Barry said speeding off.
"She will not die." Naruto said disappearing in a yellow flash using the Hiraishin knowing it might be faster than speeding over.
"Please, let them get to her in time." Cisco prayed
Waterfront
Eiling paced as he gave a speech "All over the world, people are plotting to destroy our end our
lives. Brave American soldiers are gonna die in that fight, but they don't have to. Because of you, we could have victory."
"All I've ever wanted was to make the world a safer place." Bette said as she clenched the marbles in her hand "And it will be when you're not in it."
Eiling's eyes widened when she threw the marbles forward "Take cover!" he yelled before the marbles exploded knocking everyone to the ground
Better walked forward toward Eiling with her hand high to touch him, but Naruto appeared in front of her "What are you doing here?" she asked surprise
"Being soldier doesn't mean you're a murderer. Don't let this fat son of a bitch make you one." Naruto said, Bette looked at Naruto and nodded before Eiling attempted to shoot her, but Naruto caught the bullet and knocked him out with a chakra enhanced punch to the face.
"What were you doing out here?" Naruto asked with Barry arriving seeing Eiling knocked out along with all the soldiers. "It's all good here Barry, go ahead and head back to S.T.A.R. Labs." Naruto said.
Barry nodded and sped away back to the lab.
"I was trying to protect everyone by eliminating Eiling from the picture." Bette told him, "It's what Dr. Wells told me to do."
"What?" He asked getting more suspicious of him.
"He wanted me to confront Eiling and try to eliminate him." Bette explained.
"Oh for fuck sake. He was setting you up for a suicide mission I think." Naruto said. "Okay. We're keeping what you said to me a secret for now until we can figure why he did this. For now I think we should see about getting what shrapnel we can out of you or me using my suppression seal on you." Naruto said getting a nod from her as they sped off back to S.T.A.R. Labs.
A few minutes later (S.T.A.R. Labs)
Naruto and Bette showed up and decided to bring his ideas on what they could do to help.
"I've been thinking about this for the last day or two, but I have a couple things we could do to help Bette with her powers. I might have figured out a way to get some of the shrapnel out of Bette to help her control over her powers." Naruto said raising his hand as it vibrates not surprising everyone until he touches a desk going through it becoming intangible. "Could this work?" He asked looking at Dr. Wells who didn't expect this so soon.
"It is possible, but how long have you been able to do this?" Dr. Wells asked curiously.
"I discovered being able to do this a couple days ago that I can vibrate through object, people, and buildings. Is it possible this way?" Naruto asked.
"Yes it is possible, but it's up to Bette in the end. What's your other suggestion." Wells asked.
"The other one would be to put a suppression seal on her to negate her powers, but that's like taking away something apart of you and that's something I don't want to do unless you're a criminal." Naruto explained.
"Well what do you say Bette? What do you want to do? This is about you after all." Wells said turning to her.
"I trust Naruto to get some of the shrapnel out if he can do it then I want to do that." Bette smiled at him who returned it.
Later on (S.T.A.R. Labs)
"You ready" Naruto said as Bette was in the medical lab laying on a bed in a hospital gown
"I'm scared." Bette said in all honesty
"A sentiment I share with Ms. Souci." said Harrison as if this failed she'd go off and probably die
"How can you even be sure you can vibrate like that dude? One wrong move, Squelch!" Cisco said
"Not helping dude" Naruto said as he felt nervous as another person's life was in his hands "you're a lot stronger than you look Caitlin surgeons don't get enough credit" he said as he qualified as a Dr but never pursued the medical field
Bette gulped as she put her hand. "Can you hold my hand as you're doing it?" she asked terrified, nothing in her career as a soldier could prepare her for this
"Yeah, ready? On the count of three" Naruto said giving her gloved right hand his left hand
Bette nodded and closed her eyes."1" she said
Barry breathed nervously as he watched this as this was terrifying to behold.
"2" Naruto said
Caitlin and Cisco had their fingers crossed.
"3!" they both said as Naruto's hand went inside her as she held in her scream brushing past the parts where the shrapnel was and soon pulled out some scraps of metal in his hand
"Holy, shit, I got it!" Naruto said as Bette opened her eyes.
"Holy shit I honestly thought we were gonna die" Cisco said in relief
"Fuck you man" Naruto said as his friend's mic was on
Harrison breathed in relief as he patted a cloth on his head as he was sweating. "Remarkable work, Naruto. You continue to amaze even me." he said as he didn't know if Naruto could completely do it and not kill her
"But did it work?" Bette asked in disbelief before she touched his hand with her bare hand.
"Oh my god, thank you!" she said in joy before putting her arms around his neck and kissing him.
"Woo-hoo. Go Naruto!" Cisco said over the cms
"I am so sorry, I was just -" Bette said as she was so excited.
"Hey it's okay." Naruto said as he understood the thrill of the moment. "I don't blame you." He said.
"Thank you." Bette said.
Joe's House
Iris was on her laptop in the dining room, when she heard the door open, looking up she saw it was Barry "Hey stranger, if you came to do laundry, I already have a load in."
"Uh, no. I came to talk." Barry said walking over and sitting next to her, looking at her for a moment.
"Barry, I'm really sorry." Iris said.
"I'm sorry too Iris." Barry said.
Barry nodded before he sighed and looked at her "You can't keep writing about the Streak."
"W-what, Barry, this is important to me, I thought you of all people would be supportive of me for doing this."
"The thing is Iris, if this guy is real, and they are doing things like this and he crosses the wrong people who are they going to go looking for? The person who seems to have the most information on them, you. Your tying yourself to people you don't know and it could get you killed."
"The Streaks are giving people hope. He should give you and Naruto hope." Iris said
"The only hope for me is if I see the man in yellow who ran that knife through our mom. Your putting yourself out there in danger I'm not OK with that."
"This is important to me. Whoever the two Streaks are, I'm not stopping till everyone believes in them."
"And if your hurt in the process it won't matter?" Barry asked
"I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself." Iris said
Barry nodded his head "Ok." he said standing up and looking down at her, before he left the house.
Later
Naruto found himself at a bar, just enjoying the taste of bourbon and missing the effects of alcohol when he noticed Bette, Caitlin, and Cisco "Hey what's up?" he asked surprised to see them
"We thought we should have a toast." Cisco said
"Doesn't work on me, remember?" Naruto asked
"Naruto Allen, you of all people should know that nothing is impossible." Caitlin said handing Naruto a small bottle filled with liquid "I distilled a highly fermented, potent suspension. It's basically 500 proof."
Naruto uncorked the bottle and took a whiff, and crinkled his nose "I figured we could celebrate with Bette joining our team and her being able to use her powers more now." Caitlin said causing Naruto to smile as she lifted her glass with Cisco and Bette. "So here's to Bette joining our team."
"Bette." Naruto and Cisco said as the four tapped their glasses together and took their shots
"Whoa, oh." Naruto said shaking his head as he coughed "That hit too quick."
"Are you buzzed?" Caitlin asked hopefully as she, Bette, and Cisco watched him with smiles
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm buzzed for sure. I could kiss you right now. Speaking of which, Bette you're a good kisser." Naruto said causing Caitlin and Better to blush. Bette smirked as he looked down to the bottle "Whoa, that is good stuff." Naruto blinked before he sighed "And it's gone."
"Work in progress." Caitlin shrugged as Naruto laid his head down, crying as she and Bette rubbed his back.
