Yu-Gi-Oh Legends

By

The R&D Department

The following story is fanfiction. We do not own the rights to the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise. Those belong to Kazuki Takahashi, Konami, Studio DICE, Shuiesha, TV Tokyo, and any other relevant parties.

Author's Notes: Oh my god, I am so sorry it took this long! _

I really didn't mean for it to take almost FIVE to SIX months to get back to this, but again, work scheduling got in the way. One co-worker died, another broke her hip, and one of my immediate superiors, (who I'm the back-up for) started coming down with really bad bouts of COPD, which means my schedule has been changing at the last minute quite often. I've been trying to request vacation time since AUGUST, and while it is October now, at least one week as delayed by three weeks because the week I was supposed to go was one of those weeks the person I'm the back-up for got hospitalized, and then was released on doctor-ordered bed-rest.

And Kazuki Takahashi died between the last episode and now, and that's depressing….Rest in Peace, Takahashi-sama.

And let's not forget the numerous Decks I've made that since using, I'm going to have to overhaul yet AGAIN because Konami won't stop making cards for an archetype, even if that archetype already has MORE than enough members to run multiple copies of them already in a 60-card Deck.

Anyways, now that we've gotten THAT rant out of the way, since Nami is Dueling today, let us reveal her headcanon Japanese VA: (Drumroll please!) Saori Hayami! She voices Yor in the Spy X Family anime, and while I have only seen clips on Youtube, she sounds exactly like how I would have imagined Nami's Japanese voice to sound like.

I also should bring this up: I just now noticed a few errors I made in the previous episodes, and I am doing my best to fix them.

Soooo, yeah. That's all for now! Onnnnnnnn with the show!

..

Yu-Gi-Oh Legends

Episode 42: Salt

Last episode, we discovered Colt, after being separated from the others, wound up in the realm known as Midgard, which contained a vast ocean. There he faced the Legend Hunter Yukiko Hitori, whose powers over ice and snow, and her hatred for anyone of the male gender in general brought a whole new level to the term 'Ice Queen'. Colt wound up victorious, and even punched out his opponent, but in doing so, unlocked a strange power from within himself. At the same time, Ai Washimi had arrived in Midgard, just as a column of light burst forth from the shoreline…

Nami coughs as she lands on the ground.

"What the-? Where am I?"

She looks around, it seems she's outside and in a forest, but it is very clear she has no idea how she wound up in the middle of nowhere outdoors.

She thinks out loud.

"Last thing I remember, We had just entered the tower…..and then…."

He eyes widen as she remembers sinister laughter, and light separating and the teleporting everyone else.

"It was a trap!"

She looks around.

"But that still doesn't answer where I am…..or where the others are."

She sighs.

"Sooooo, what do I do now?"

She remains quiet, and her ears perk up upon hearing a certain sound.

The sound of waves crashing against the shore.

Her eyes widen, and she walks out of the woods, and just stares.

On her right, she can see a trail leading to a beach, complete with the ocean lapping at its shores.

On her left, a bunch of craggy cliffs, high enough they're beginning to have snow form upon them.

Nami freaks out.

"WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!?"

She shakes her head.

"I must be dreaming."

She pinches herself, and winces in pain.

"Okay, I'm not dreaming."

She looks at both paths, and, after deciding that she's not dressed for snow, heads towards the beach.

Pandora looks around. It's dark, and it seems she's in a cavern-like system of tunnels that smell vaguely of metal shavings and fire.

"So, this is where I've wound up….Where is here?"

She turns a corner, and her eyes widen in shock as she surveys the scene. Several men lay unconscious, covered in bruises, with some of them bleeding. The cavern is illuminated by the glow of a river of what seems to be magma, and it looks like a blacksmith's forge, although decked out with much more advanced technology. She can tell from the gashes on the walls and the scent of blood in the air that something terrible has happened.

A hand grabs her ankle, and a voice speaks.

"D-Don't!"

"Ah!"

Nami gasps as she takes in the fresh, salty sea air as she finally reaches the beach, and has even gone so far as take off her shoes to splash about in the surf. Once she stops, and puts her shoes back on, she pouts a little.

"I thought I would be able to find someone here if I went towards water, but no such luck. And I still don't have any idea how I got here."

She shouts out loud to the sky.

"ANY IDEAS, UNIVERSE!?"

Only the sound of the sea responds to her. Nami begins to pout, and in doing so, fails to notice a shape rise out of the water, and head towards the beach. By the time the shape sets a foot down on the beach, Nami is in the middle of a tirade.

"STUPID MISSION! STUPID BEACH! WHERE IS EVERYONE!?"

A voice cuts through her rant.

"Loud…"

Nami freezes, and turns around slowly, scared out of her wits, and completely unsure of what monstrosity she's going to see, widens her eyes in shock as she sees the source of the voice is a really hot guy wearing nothing but a pair of swimming trunks, a belt with a waterproof Duel Disc, a deck box, and a shark-tooth necklace. His skin is a warm tan brown, and his chest has tattoos of Polynesian design. His hair is a pale blue-gray, the color of faded denim, and falls down his back down to his butt.

Nami sputters.

"Wh-what!?"

The buy sticks a finger in his ear, and swivels it around as he repeats himself.

"I said you're too loud. Jeez."

"Who…Who are you!?"

The guy snickers.

"You're supposed to introduce yourself, first, kid."

"! I…I am Nami Hikari! Where are we?"

The guy snorts, amusement on his face.

"I'm Brosephus Kamapua'a. Number 05. I've been sent to stop you, Nami Hikari. As for where we are,"

He gestures around.

"This is a pocket dimension within the Philosopher's Tower named Midgard. It's one of the biggest of the nine within the place, and it makes it kind of a pain."

"A pain?"

He nods.

"Yeah, the entrances and exists are all really far away from each other, and its just troublesome."

"But there is a way out?"

"Yeah, but I have orders to stop you, so I can't go showing you, now can I?"

Brosephus sighs, and reaches for his Disc.

"I really don't want to do this. Tell you what: If you just hand over your Legend Cards, I'll so you the way out to the outside of the Tower. You don't need to get involved any further."

Nami shakes her head, a determined look on her face as she readies her own Disc.

"Sorry, but my friends are here, and I won't leave them behind. So I guess we're doing this the hard way."

Brosephus smirks, slightly.

"Yeah, thought so."

Both then speak simultaneously.

"LET'S DUEL!"

Nami and Brosephus play "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to see who goes first.

"ROCK!"

"PAPER!"

"SCISSORS!"

Nami throws Paper, Brosephus throws Rock. Nami goes first.

DUEL START!

Nami's LP: 8000

Brosephus' LP: 8000

Nami looks determined as she draws her hand from her Deck as the Duel begins.

"Alright then! I'll start off by playing two Spells! Sanctum of Parshath and Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen!"

Two Spells appear on Nami's field, showering her field in light as one produces a temple with a statue of on of Parshath's incarnations, while the other produces a temple draped with red curtains, and bearing an empty throne within it.

The Sanctum of Parshath

Continuous Spell Card

This card's name becomes "The Sanctuary in the Sky" while on the field or in the GY. Fairy monsters on the field gain 300 ATK/DEF. Set Spell/Traps cannot be targeted by, or destroyed by, card effects. Once per turn: You can target a total of 3 Fairy monsters and/or Counter Traps with different names in your GY; place them on the top of your Deck in any order.

Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen

Continuous Spell Card

Once per turn: You can Special Summon 1 Fairy monster from your hand. You must control no monsters to activate and resolve this effect.

Nami continues.

"I then use the effect of my Valhalla! Since I control no monsters, I can now Special Summon Athena!"

A subtle chorus echoes throughout the field as Nami's goddess descends onto the field from the sky of her hall. With a confident nod, Athena looks towards Nami, and then readies her shield and spear, looking back towards Brosephus.

Athena

Level 7/LIGHT/Fairy/Effect/ATK 2600/DEF 800

If another Fairy monster(s) is Summoned: Inflict 600 damage to your opponent. Once per turn: You can send 1 face-up Fairy monster your control to the GY, except "Athena", then target 1 Fairy monster in your GY, except "Athena"; Special Summon that target.

The statue within the Nami's Sanctum glows as Athena stands proudly on the field.

Athena

ATK 2900/DEF 1100

Brosephus' eyes widen, and he whistles, impressed, as Nami continues.

"And then, since I haven't Normal Summoned this turn, I can now call on Meltiel, Sage of the Sky, in ATK Mode!"

A crystalline, angelic being , covered in scarlet, with a ring of light around it, emerges onto her field, and is immediately powered up by Nami's Sanctum.

Meltiel, Sage of the Sky

Level 4/LIGHT/Fairy/Effect/ATK 1600/DEF 1200

Each time a Counter Trap card is activated, immediately after it resolves, gain 1000 LP, and if you do, if "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field; destroy 1 card your opponent controls.

Meltiel, Sage of the Sky

ATK 1900/DEF 1500

"And since Meltiel is a Fairy monster, Athena's effect now hits you with 600 damage!"

A grotesque face, with fangs, snake hair, and glowing eyes, appears on Athena's shield. It hisses.

"Gorgonic Gaze!"

Athena's shield fires blasts of stone, which strike Brosephus, causing him to brace himself, and grunt in pain.

"Guh!"

Brosephus' LP: 7400

Nami nods.

"I then end my turn with a face-down card!"

Turn End.

Brosephus' Turn.

Brosephus nods.

"I have to admit, you started off pretty strong there, I wasn't expecting it. That being said…"

His eyes turn stormy.

"I won't hold back. Number 05! Hunter Mode, ACTIVATE!"

Brosephus' body glows, and by the time it fades away, Brosephus stands, changed. His hands and feet are clawed and slightly webbed, and his skin, which started off as a warm brown, has changed to an aqua-blue-green colored scaly skin. His chest tattoos are stil present, although the ink color seems to have changed to a deep, dark blue. Fangs poke out from Brosephus' top lip, and he yawns for a moment, revealing rows and rows of sharklike teeth, and a sharklike tail emerges from his backside, swishing lazily in the water he's standing in.

He closes his mouth, and grins wildly before speaking. His voice is pretty much the same, but sounds a bit rougher.

"I am Number 05, Codenamed "Glaucus"! And my Legend Hunter ability makes it so that any monster that battles a WATER monster loses 300 ATK/DEF! And with that out of the way, I draw!"

He draws a card, and looks at his hand before continuing.

"I'll start things off by playin' my Field Spell, Lemuria, the Forgotten City!"

The Ocean rumbles, and with a rush of water, a huge city of white, eroded rock emerges behind Brosephus.

Lemuria, The Forgotten City

Field Spell Card

This card's name is treated as "Umi". All WATER monsters gain 300 ATK/DEF. Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can have all WATER monsters you currently control gain Levels equal to the number of WATER monsters you currently control, until the End Phase.

"I then Summon Atlantean Heavy Infantry in DEF Mode!"

Bubble appear on the surface of the water in front of Brosephus, and then with a spray of water, a fish man with a pair of shields on each arm appears, with a deep, guttural shout.

Atlantean Heavy Infantry

Level 2/WATER/Sea Serpent/ATK 0/DEF 1600

During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Sea Serpent monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) When this card is sent to the GY to activate a WATER monster's effect: Target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy it.

Atlantean Heavy Infantry

DEF 1900

Brosephus continues.

"I now use the effect of my Heavy Infantry, allowing me to Normal Summon an additional Level 4 or lower Sea Serpent from my hand!"

Brosephus' monster shouts, and bashes his two shields together. At the same time, a dark silhouette appears under the surface of the water, and when two eyes start to glow, a creature bursts forth with a spray of sea water.

"C'mon out, Legendary Atlantean Tridon!"

It is a small, dragon-like sea serpent, which growls at Nami.

Legendary Atlantean Tridon

Level 3/WATER/Sea Serpent/Effect/ATK 1600/DEF 800

You can Tribute this card and 1 Sea Serpent monster; Special Summon 1 "Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon" from you hand or Deck, then all monsters your opponent controls lose 300 ATK.

Legendary Atlantean Tridon

ATK 1900

Brosephus throws his arm out, a confident look on his face.

"I now activate Tridon's ability! By Tributing both him and my Atlantean Heavy Infantry, I'm now allowed to Special Summon Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon!"

Both of Brosephus' monsters glow, and with a swirl of salt water, a maelstrom consumes Brosephus' field, until with a mighty roar and a surge of crashing water, a monster appears. It looks like Tridon, only larger, more mature, and angry.

Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon

Level 7/WATER/Sea Serpent/ATK 2800/DEF 1600

You can Tribute 3 Level 3 or lower WATER monsters; Special Summon this card from your hand or GY. When you do: Return all Spell/Traps on the field to the hand, and if you do, if 3 or more cards are returned to the hand by this effect, all monsters your opponent controls lose 300 ATK for each.

Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon

ATK 3100

Nami's eyes widen.

"Whoa…."

Brosephus starts to chuckle.

"Heh. Yeah, you ain't seen nothin' yet! Since I brought Poseidra out using Tridon, all monsters you have lose 300 ATK!"

A blue light surrounds Nami's monsters, and both seem to weaken.

Athena

ATK 2600

Meltiel, Sage of the Sky

ATK 1600

Brosephus continues.

"And then, because my Heavy Infantry was sent to the GY by the effect of a WATER monster, I can now destroy 1 face-up monster your opponent controls! Say good-bye to your Athena!"

An apparition of Brosephus' monster appears, and rushes at Nami's monster, shattering her.

Nami cries out.

"Athena! No!"

Brosephus chuckles.

"Heh. Now, Poseidra! Attack her Meltiel, Sage of the Sky! Tempestuous Crash!"

Poseidra roars, and swings his tail at Meltiel. At the same time, a wave knocks Meltiel down, causing its light to flicker.

Meltiel, Sage of the Sky

ATK 1300

Poseidra's tail hits Meltiel, and shatters the creature, causing crystals to rain down on Nami's field. Nami cries out as the shards cut her.

"AH!"

Nami's LP: 6200

Brosephus shrugs.

"Sorry 'bout that, but like I said, I ain't holdin' back on you."

Nami pants.

"Don't….worry about it."

"Alright then. I'll end my turn with a face-down."

Turn End.

Nami's Turn.

Nami looks at the field, thinking to herself.

"He's destroyed both of the monsters I got out in one turn! An his monster is so strong I don't think I have anything to combat it!"

She places her hand on her Deck.

"Please let this be something I can use!"

Nami draws, and upon seeing the card, her eyes widen.

"This card-!"

The flashback begins.

The bell rings, and with it, the professor's voice rings out.

"Alright then. That's it for today! Dismissed!"

While most of the students start emptying out of the room, Yumiko, Nami, and Colt stary behind, still working on their Decks.

Yumiko sighs.

"I will admit, reconfiguring our Decks is harder than I thought."

Colt nods.

"Tell me about it. I only got one new card from the ISB, and with some of what I got in the new boosters are making it really hard here! I have too many options, but not enough room!"

Nami remains quiet, however, looking at a few cards, making adjustments here and there.

Colt raises an eyebrow, noticing her silence.

"Nami, Are you okay?"

Yumiko looks over, and Nami sighs.

"Yeah…..It's just…I'm worried. I know we're doing this for a good reason, but I can't help but be….scared, y'know? Pierce and Pandora showed us what could happen to us, and it's just a lot to take in, y'know?"

Colt places his hand on Nami's, gently.

"You're right. But you are not alone in this. Don't let it get to you."

Yumiko nods,

"He's right. We're scared too, but I have you two."

Colt nods, his cheeks a little pink as he says the next bit.

"I you have me, Nami. You'll always have me. In fact, here."

He hands Nami a card.

"Take this. I'll be with you, even if I'm not actually there."

Nami blushes a little, and hesitantly, takes the card.

And with that, the flashback ends.

Nami's eyes get misty.

"I'm not alone, but I…..I can't use this, not yet."

She looks at her field.

"I'm going to have to brace myself for some hurt."

"I….I end my turn."

Turn End.

Brosephus' Turn.

Brosephus chuckles as he draws.

"Gotta say, I was expecting more. Oh well. I'll start things off by Summoning my Atlantean Attack Squad!"

With a bubbling sound, a sword wielding fish man emerges.

Atlantean Attack Squad

Level 3/WATER/Sea Serpent/Effect/ATK 1400/DEF 0

This card gains 800 ATK while you control a face-up Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua monster other than this card.

Atlantean Attack Squad

ATK 2500

"But he won't be sticking around, as I activate the Spell Moray of Avarice! By banishing him, I'm allowed to draw two cards!"

Moray of Avarice

Spell Card

Banish 1 face-up Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua monster you control; draw 2 cards. You can only activate 1 "Moray of Avarice" per turn.

A purple, disgustingly faced eel bursts out of the water, wraps around the Attack Squad member, and drags him into the depths. Two bubbles burst for the from the water, and two cards are contained within them. Brosephus adds them to his hand before continuing to speak.

"I then activate my Trap Card, Abyss-Sphere!"

Abyss-Sphere

Continuous Trap Card

Special Summon 1 "Mermail" monster from your Deck. Its effects are negated. You cannot activate any Spell Cards. When this card leaves the field, destroy that monster. Destroy this card during your opponent's next End Phase after activation.

A bubble of water emerges from Brosephus' Trap.

"With this little number, I can now Special Summon a Mermail monster from my Deck! I call on Mermail Abyssmegalo!"

A red-skinned, shark-headed being, with pearly-gold armor, and wielding what can only be described as a large blade seemingly made of the jaw of a giant shark, serrated rows of teeth and all, manifests within the bubble.

Mermail Abyssmegalo

Level 7/WATER/Sea Serpent/Effect/ATK 2400/DEF 1900

You can discard 2 other WATER monsters to the GY; Special Summon this card from your hand. When you do: You can add 1 "Abyss-" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. You can Tribute 1 other face-up Attack Position WATER monster; this card can make a second attack each Battle Phase that turn.

Brosephus grins, exposing his sharp teeth.

"I now think I'll use my Poseidra and Abyssmegalo to build the Overlay Network!"

Both monsters turn into blue spheres of energy, and spiral into a galaxy-shaped portal as Brosephus chants.

"I call on the Earthshaker! Rise from the ocean floor, come unbound from your bindings! Arise, Oh god of the Sea! I Xyz Summon!"

The sky rumbles, and darkens, the waves of the sea become fierce, crashing against the shore.

Thunder rumbles, and lighting flashes.

And with a mighty surge of water, a figure emerges.

"Mermail Abyssgaios!"

It looks like a man, wielding a trident. However, his lower body looks like that of Poseidra, and he towers over the field.

Mermail Abyssgaios

Rank 7/WATER/Aqua/Xyz/Effect/ATK 2800/DEF 1600

2 Level 7 WATER monsters

While this face-up card has Xyz Material, Level 5 or higher monsters cannot attack. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the effects of all face-up monsters your opponent currently controls that have less ATK than this card, until the end of the turn.

Mermail Abyssgaios

ATK 3100

Brosephus cries out.

"Now, Abyssgaios! Attack her LP directly! Earthshaking Surge!"

With a mighty bellow, Abyssgaios sweeps his trident, and then strikes it on the ground. With a mighty wave surging towards her, Nami also feels the ground beneath her shake and shudder underneath her feet, just before she's knocked off them with tremendous force.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Nami's LP: 3100

Brosephus just shakes his head.

"I end my turn with a face-down."

Turn End.

Nami's Turn.

Nami struggles to pick herself up, gasping. Brosephus speaks.

"You really should give up. As you've experienced, I am like the sea. I have beat against you and worn you down, If you do not stop, there will be nothing of you left."

Nami shakes her head.

"I…won't! I have a mission to carry out, and friends to find! I draw, and I Summon Gellenduo in DEF Mode!"

Two angels, one green and one pink, halos around their waists, and soft, marshmallow-like bodies, appear on Nami's field.

"These two little guys can't be destroyed by battle, which means my LP are safe until you can get rid of them!"

Gellenduo

Level 4/LIGHT/Fairy/Effect/ATK 1700/DEF 0

Cannot be destroyed by battle. If you take damage: Destroy this face-up card. This card can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a LIGHT Fairy monster.

Gellenduo

DEF 300

"I end my turn!"

Turn End.

Brosephus' Turn.

Brosephus shakes his head as he draws. His voice is solemn.

"I tried to get you to surrender….I'll begin this turn by Summonin' Mermail Abysslung in DEF Mode."

A broad-shouldered, and broad-faced merman, armored and bearing a heavy-looking shield on each arm bursts from the water.

Mermail Abysslung

Level 4/WATER/Fish/Effect/ATK 1200/DEF 1800

Your opponent cannot target face-up WATER monsters you control for attacks, except this one. All WATER monsters you control gain 300 ATK.

"Not only does this guy protect my WATER monsters rom attacks, but he also boosts Abyssgaios' ATK by another 300 points!"

Mermail Abysslung

DEF 2100

Mermail Abyssgaios

ATK 3400

Nami looks confused.

"I don't get while you're so excited. I told you Gellenduo can't be destroyed by battle!"

Brosephus laughs.

"Not for much longer! I now activate Abyssgaios' ability! By removing an overlay unit, I can now negate the effect of all of your monsters with less ATK than him! Divine Subjection!"

An overlay unit vanishes into the center of Abyssgaios' trident. He swings it around, and just as he prepares to strike. Nami gets a steely look in her eyes.

"That's enough! I activate my Counter Trap Divine Punishment!"

Divine Punishment

Counter Trap Card

When a Spell/Trap, or monster effect is activated, while "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field: Negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.

"Since my Sanctum of Parshath is treated as The Sanctuary in the Sky while on the field, this trap allows me to negate your monster's effect, and destroy it!"

Red lightning sparks out from Nami's Trap, and eventually, a bolt of red-white lightning strikes Brosephus' monster, who disintegrates with a bellow.

Nami continues to speak.

"And since I just negated one of your monsters with a Counter Trap, I can now Special Summon this!"

The dark, stormy sky rumbles, and with a burst of electricity. A dark, ominous figure emerges from the clouds.

A dragon.

"Come forth, Van'Dalgyon, The Dark Dragon Lord!"

Van'Dalgyon, the Dark Dragon Lord

Level 8/DARK/Dragon/Effect/ATK 2800/DEF 2500

If you negate the activation of an opponent's Spell/Trap Card(s), or opponent's monster effect(s), with a Counter Trap Card (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your hand. If Summoned this way, activate these effects and resolve in sequence, depending on the type of card(s) negated by that Counter Trap:

Spell: Inflict 1500 damage to your opponent.

Trap: Target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy that target.

Monster: Target 1 monster in your GY; Special Summon it.

Brosephus' eyes widen as his monster is destroyed, and Nami's dark dragon descends. Nami speaks up.

"And since I negated a monster effect with my Counter Trap, Van'Dalgyon now allows me to Special Summon a monster in my GY! Come on back, Athena!"

Athena

ATK 2900

Brosephus stands there, shocked at Nami's comeback.

"I…..end my turn."

Turn End.

Nami's Turn.

Nami draws, nodding her head, a determined look on her face.

"Alright! Time to bring you into the light! I Summon Diviner of the Herald!"

A white-robed figure, with wings of rainbow colors, emerges onto the field, a shy, gentle look on her face.

Diviner of the Herald

Level 2/LIGHT/Fairy/Tuner/Effect/ATK 500/DEF 300

If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 Fairy monster from your Deck or Extra Deck to the GY, and if you do, increase this card's level by that monster's Level, until the end of this turn. If this card is Tributed: you can Special Summon 1 Level 2 or lower Fairy monster from your hand or Deck, except "Diviner of the Herald". You can only use each effect of "Diviner of the Herald" once per turn.

"Since I Summoned her, I can now use her effect to send a Level 2 Fairy monster in order to increase my Diviner's level by 2!"

Diviner of the Herald

Level 4/ATK 800

"And then, Athena hits you with 600 points of damage! Gorgonic Gaze!"

Brosephus' LP: 6800

"I now Tune my Diviner with my Gellenduo!"

Nami's Diviner turns into four green rings, and Gellenduo dissolves into four glowing stars as they align within the rings as Nami chants.

"Fly though the heavens on radiant wings, galloping through the clouds! Descend, slayer of Medusa! I Synchro Summon Avenging Airknight Parshath!"

With a burst of light, Nami's monster descends, rearing his hooves up before bringing them down.

"Mistress! Is he to be my opponent?"

"You got it, Parshath!"

Avenging Airknight Parshath

Level 8/LIGHT/Fairy/Synchro/Effect/ATK 2600/DEF 2100

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner LIGHT monsters

Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; change that target's battle position. If this card attacks a Defense position monster, inflict piercing damage to your opponent.

Brosephus smiles nervously.

"O-oh, that doesn't look good….."

"It isn't, at least, for you! Since I just Summoned another Fairy monster, Athena hits you again! Gorgonic Gaze!"

"Urk!"

Brosephus' LP: 6200

Avenging Airknight Parshath

ATK 2900

Nami nods in satisfaction.

"Now! I use Parshath's effect, forcing your Abysslung to ATK Mode!"

Parshath shouts, and points his blade at Brosephus' monster, who slowly, as if it was being forced to, changes its battle position.

Mermail Abysslung

ATK 1800

"Now! Parshath! Attack his Abysslung! Heavenly Gram!"

"Gladly!"

Parshath rears up, and gallops towards the monster, raising his blade, and then cutting through it like a hot knife through butter.

Brosephus sweatdrops.

"Crap…"

Brosephus' LP: 5100

"And now, Athena! Attack his LP directly! Celestial Spear!"

Athena looks steely eyed, and launches her spear, which impales him in the shoulder.

"GRAH!"

Brosephus' LP: 2200

"And now, Van'Dalgyon! Attack his LP and end this Duel! Silent Dirge!"

With a rumbling groan, electricity focuses around Van'Dalgyon's fist, and turns into a slightly humming blade of energy. Van'Dalgyon opens his maw, and with an indescribable sound, brings his hand down onto Brosephus with a chop.

Brosephus' LP: 0

DUEL OVER!

WINNER: Nami

Light fills the area, blinding everyone.

"I DON'T CARE! LET ME GO!"

We are now back outside the Tower, and this outburst comes from Bright, who is currently being restrained by Minerva, as she yells and screams, trying to head towards the building encased in ice. Minerva tries to calm her down.

"Miss Canyon! I must insist you stop this! We will look for Mister Crest, but we aren't ready yet, and considering the whole building is encased in ice, we aren't sure of its structural stability!"

Bright shoots her a dirty look.

"Screw that! That idiot may need my help! Let me go!"

Minerva sighs.

"Agent Daniels, could you please talk some sense into her?"

Pierce, who winds this whole situation slightly amusing, just shakes his head.

"Sorry, Minnie, but that one's a force of nature all on her own."

"SQUEAK!"

And with that noise, and the noticing of the source of it, both Bright Canyon and Agent Pierce Daniels jump into the arms of Minerva and Thoth, respectfully, like Scooby-Doo does into Shaggy's arms, and proceed to scream like little girls.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! A MOUSE!"

By the time the light fades, and Nami regains her vision, Brosephus stands there, in the water, steam coming off of his body like a fried fish. He remains still as the field dissolves, and his Field Spell collapses into the ocean behind him. He coughs, gasping for air, and speaks, his voice hoarse.

"Heh…You got me…gotta say….I wasn't expecting a turnaround like this…."

His body starts turning white.

"At least two of your friends are here, with you, but you'll have to find your way out on your own. Sorry."

The white spreads up his body as Nami looks confused.

"What do you mean? What's happening to you?"

Brosephus grins, his face stiffening up.

"I am…..like the ocean….and now…I am returning to it. I wish I could have helped you, but….it's….too…late."

The white spreads to his face, and with the shifting of waves, the pillar of salt that used to be Brosephus Kamapua'a collapses, and dissolves into the sea.

Nami just stands there, stunned, unsure of how to react to what she's just seen, when she hears the sound of something approaching.

"WHO'S THERE!?"

A figure steps closer to Nami, hands raised in peace.

"Easy there, Miss Hikari. It's me, Headmistress Washimi."

Nami sighs in relief.

"Headmistress Washimi? Thank Goodness! Where did you come from?"

"A place called Niflheim, apparently."

"How did you get here?"

Before Ai can answer, a voice interrupts her.

"NAMMMMMIIIIIIIIIII!"

Nami and Ai's eyes widen and look towards the source, and see Colt running towards Nami.

Nami goes teary-eyed.

"COLT!"

She runs towards him, and they embrace.

And everything fades black.

Yu-Gi-Oh Legends

Episode 42: The End

Author's Notes: This…was NOT a fun chapter to write. If you're wondering why, the answer is 9. That's how many times I had to re-write the Duel, and the opponent was using an archetype where I can't do my normal thing and copy/paste card text from previous episodes.

And to make matters worse, even more overhauling is going to be needed for some Decks than originally thought. AUGH!

That being said, once the Duel was done, inserting everything else around it was pretty easy to do.

Anyway, we've finally seen the Deck of Brosephus Kamapua'a , the Abyss-/Atlantean/Mermail Archetype.

If you don't remember him, he surrendered back in episode 15 without us even seeing him Duel.

Appearance-wise, I based him off Leon from Pokemon Sword/Shield, but if he was a Hawaiian surfer bro. His Legend Hunter ability I based off a boon from Poseidon from the game Hades, which was what I was playing as I was working on this chapter. His Hunter Mode was inspired by Shark anthros. (Don't judge.)

It's very clear he doesn't really want to fight, but does so probably because Coppelius or Faust scare him.

His original Codename was going to be Triton, but since there was a card in his Deck that was named something similar, It was changed to Glaucus so I wouldn't confuse myself or my computer's Autocorrect function.
