Author's Notes:Here we are, episode 43. And I've started writing this within 2 days of finishing episode 42! YAY! So far the only thing stopping me from getting a lot of this done is the fact I'm looking after dogs while some guys work on replacing the back door of the house, and they'll need cuddles occasionally.
So, Pandora is Dueling today, and as such, her headcanon Japanese VA would be Riku Kinugawa, who voices the character Yugiri from Zombieland Saga, making her the only character so far to be voiced by the same actors in both English and Japanese, as Stephanie Young is Pandora's headcanon English VA.
As for Pandora's song, it's fairly simple: Pandora's Box by Marina.
Anyways, on with the show!

Yu-Gi-Oh Legends
Episode 43: Iron
Last episode, Nami found herself in the pocket dimension of Midgard, and dueled against the Legend Hunter Brosephus Kamapua'a, and while she emerged victorious, Brosephus became a pillar of salt, and dissolved into the ocean. It was then that she was reunited with at least two members of her splintered group, Colt Blackstone, and Ai Washimi. In the meantime, Pandora found herself in a cavernous area, and coming upon a scene that looks a bit like a horror movie….
"Don't!"
The cry echoes throughout the cavern, and Pandora remains frozen as the source of the hoarse voice keeps a grip on her ankle. It only lasts for a moment, however, as Pandora kicks her foot free, and then readies her whip. The figure, a short, balding, but very fit, man with a beard, groans, and begins to slowly, and painfully pick himself up off the floor, only to lay down with his back propped up against the rock wall gasping as he does so.
Pandora looks at him, suspicious, and speaks.
"What do you mean, "Don't"? Who are you? And where is this place?"
The man speaks, panting occasionally between words.
"You…huff...must be one…guh...of the intruders. Oh well, it's not….ugh….like it matters."
"Answer my questions."
The man looks at her.
"My name's Brock, and this place is a space within the Philosopher's Tower. It's called Svartálfaheimr. It's where Abraxas uses magic and alchemy to create the Duel Discs and special clothing of their Legend Hunters, as for what happened…"
He groans in pain, and pulls his hand back from where he has it placed on his abdomen, revealing blood.
"The boss felt that the endgame was near, and that we'd no longer be needed, so he sicked some sort of beast or something on us."
He gestures around the cavern forge. Indicating the claw marks gouged into the wall.
"It was a massacre. All of us are injured and bloodied, and have no hope of rescue before we succumb to our injuries."
Pandora drops her whip, and kneels down, a look of sympathy on her face.
"What do you mean?"
"We were able to drive the beast out of our realm by getting our defense system up, but now the very thing that saved our lives is guarding the exit, and won't let anything in or out."
"If that was the case, how did I get here?"
Brock laughs, although it is clearly pained, and he coughs up blood as he reaches the end.
"You're different. The boss himself put you here, and the way you got in isn't the official entrance."
"In that case, why don't you use that way to escape?"
Brock shakes his head.
"Yours was a one-way street, and a one-time deal. Think of it like a cave-in."
Pandora sighs.
"In that case, how do I get out?"
Brock's eyes widen.
"Are you crazy!? That thing guarding the gate isn't going to let you leave, and even if you find a way to get by it, that….that monster is still out there somewhere! You got a death wish!?"
Pandora shakes her head.
"Not at all."
She stands up.
"I just know I'm stronger than you think."
Brock sighs.
"In that case, go that way."
He points to a corner of the cavern.
"Follow the path, and eventually, you'll reach a place that looks like an elevator lobby. The defense system will be there, but be warned."
His eyes turn steely.
"That thing was created to become a Legend Hunter in its own right, and therefore has powers of its own. It can't shape-shift, but it still has powers."
Pandora nods.
"I see, in that case, you have my thanks. In the meantime, is there anyway you can gather up your friends here so you can be ready to escape while I'm done?"
Brock laughs again before nodding.
"Yeah…just do me a favor, take that thing out of that drawer there, and toss it over."
He gestures to a drawer near Pandora. She opens it, and takes out what looks to be an injector pin filled with glowing dark blue liquid. After confirming it's what Brock wants, she tosses it over, and upon catching it, he injects it into his shoulder. He grunts, and for a moment, we can see his veins glow for a brief moment, and upon gasping in relief a moment later, checks the wound on his abdomen, and nods when he confirms the wound is no longer bleeding.
"Thanks, lass. In gratitude, take that thing on the shelf there with you."
He points to what looks to be a silver, ribbon-like item on a hook near the workbench. Pandora picks it up.
"This?"
"Yep. You like whips, right? That thing is called Gleipnir. Lightweight, razor-sharp, near indestructible. Might come in handy later."
Pandora nods, and places it on her belt.
"Maybe, it won't hurt."
"My thoughts exactly. Now go on."
Pandora nods, and with the end of the exchange, begins to walk towards where Brock told her to, and vanishes around the corner.
Brock laughs for a moment, and stops when he once more coughs up blood.
"Stupid Brock…..you shouldn't lie to a woman…."
He lays back against the rock, his breathing shallow.
….
By the time Pandora gets to the area Brock describes, her eyes widen in shock. She can see the elevator that was described, but standing in front of it seems to be a humanoid bronze figure, a 33 stamped on it's left upper arm. It's shaped like a man, and very noticeably is based on Greco-Roman sculpture, as it looks like what would happen if you made a cybernetic warrior look like a Spartan. It seems like a gladiator, but wields a Duel Disc instead of a spear. A terminator-like lens covers one eye, and its hands twitch on occasion. That being said, as Pandora approaches, she notices a dent in its chest, and what looks to be scrapes on parts of its body similar to the gashes on the cavern wall from earlier.
Pandora approaches the being, and with a metallic ting! Sound, the figure locks in on her, Disc raised, and a deep, echoing voice speaks to her.
"Attention: Intruder. This area is restricted. You are trespassing, and must be disposed of. This one's designation is Number 33: Talos. Surrender yourself peacefully or you will be subject to lethal force."
Pandora scowls.
"Yeah, not going to happen. You're in my way."
She takes out her whip, and cracks it on the ground.
Talos releases an alarm-like sound, before speaking, his eyes glowing.
"Hostile presence detected. Initializing Dueling Proceedures…."
Pandora puts her whip down, and brings out her Disc.
"You wanna go!? I'm happy to oblige!"
The two speak simultaneously.
"Let's Duel!"
"Duel Initiated!"
With a jerky, robotic motion, Talos plays "Rock, Paper, Scissors" against Pandora.
"Rock!"
"Paper."
"Scissors!"
Talos throws Rock, Pandora throws Scissors.
"This one will go first."
DUEL START!
Talos' LP: 8000
Pandora's LP: 8000
"This one shall start. Since there are no monsters in this one's extra monster zone, this one Special Summons Mathmech Sigma, in ATK Mode."
A red and white armored figure wielding a serrated blade emerges, it is clearly robotic, but doesn't seem quite right enough to be a robot.
Mathmech Sigma
Level 4/Cyberse/Tuner/Effect/ATK 1000/DEF 1500
If you control no monsters in the Extra Monster Zone, while this card is in your hand or GY: You can Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Cyberse monsters. You can only use this effect of "Mathmech Sigma" once per turn. If this card you control is used as Synchro Material for a "Mathmech" monster, you can treat it as a non-Tuner.
Talos continues.
"This one shall then send Mathmech Multiplication from the Deck to the GY to Special Summon Mathmech Circular, in ATK Mode."
Another armored figure appears, with pearly, iridescent armor, and a weirdly shaped bow with a pattern that looks like a ruler.
Mathmech Circular
Level 4/LIGHT/Cyberse/Effect/ATK 1500/DEF 1500
You can send 1 "Mathmech" monster, except "Mathmech Circular", from your Deck to your GY; Special Summon this card from your hand, also you can only attack with 1 monster for the rest of this turn. If a "Mathmech" monster is Normal or Special Summoned to your field while you control this monster (except during the Damage Step): You can add 1 "Mathmech" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Mathmech Circular" once per turn.
"This one shall then Normal Summon Mathmech Diameter, in ATK Mode."
Yet another armored figure, with white armor and gray tones, wielding a huge circular blade, emerges.
Mathmech Diameter
Level 4/LIGHT/Cyberse/Effect/ATK 1000/DEF 1000
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Level 4 Cyberse monster in your GY; Special Summon it, but it cannot activate its effects. A "Mathmech" monster that was Synchro or Xyz Summoned using this card was Special Summoned using this card on the field as material gains the following effect.
Once per turn, during the turn this card was Special Summoned, when your opponent activates a card or effect (Quick Effect): You can negate the effect.
You can only use each effect of "Mathmech Diameter" once per turn.
Talos continues.
"Diameter and Circular's effects activate: First, Diameter's Special Summons the Mathmech Multiplication from the GY in DEF Mode, and then Circular's effect allows this one to add Mathmech Billionblade Nayuta to the hand."
A gold-armored figure, wielding two blades and no legs, hovers over the field.
Mathmech Multiplication
Level 4/EARTH/Cyberse/Effect/ATK 500/DEF 2000
You can target 1 Level 4 Cyberse monster you control; its Level becomes 8 until the end of this turn. If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 Cyberse monster you control in the Extra Monster Zone; its ATK becomes doubled until the end of this turn. You can only use each effect of "Mathmech Multiplication" once per turn.
Talos continues.
"This one shall then lay one card, face-down, and activate the Spell Cauldron of the Old Man."
A brown-robed figure, old and wizened, emerges, cackling gleefully while stirring a cauldron of bright green and dark purple liquids, smoke rising from it.
Cauldron of the Old Man
Continuous Spell Card
When this card is activated: Place 1 counter on it. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: place 1 counter on this card. Once per turn, you can activate 1 of these effects:
Gain 500 for each counter on this card.
Inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each counter on this card.
"When this card is activated, a counter is placed on it, and will have a counter placed on it during each one of this one's Standby Phases."
Cauldron of the Old Man
Counters: 1
Talos keeps going.
"This one shall now use Cauldron of the Old Man's effect: You now take 300 damage for each counter on it."
Green, acidic smoke rises from the cauldron, and Pandora coughs as the old man stirring it cackles.
"Hacccck! Well, that's not very good for the lungs!"
Pandora's LP: 7700
Talos nods.
"This one agrees. The fumes are quite toxic to organic life. But that is the least of your worries. This one now tunes Mathmech Diameter with Matchmech Sigma."
Sigma breaks into four glowing rings, and Diameter turns into four glowing stars, which line up within the rings. Talos speaks.
"This is the formula for success, one that governs the forces of the earth itself. This one Synchro Summons Geomathmech Magma."
A caped figure, with crimson and white armor, and wielding a flaming blade, erupts onto the field with a burst of magma and flame.
Geomathmech Magma
Level 8/FIRE/Cyberse/Synchro/Tuner/Effect/ATK 2500/DEF 0
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
When this card destroys a monster by battle: You can target up to 2 cards your opponent controls; destroy them. If this card is destroyed by battle, or this card in its owner's possession is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can add 1 "Mathmech" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Geomathmech Magma" once per turn.
"This one now equips Mathmech Billionblade Nayuta to Magma."
Mathmech Billionblade Nayuta
Equip Spell Card
Equip only to a Cyberse monster. If the equipped monster battles an opponent's monster, during damage calculation: You can send 1 "Mathmech" monster from your Deck to the GY; the equipped monster gains ATK equal to the sent monster's ATK, until the end of this turn (even if this card leaves the field). If this card is sent from the Spell & Trap Zone to the GY: You can target 1 "Mathmech" card in your GY, except "Mathmech Billionblade Nayuta"; add it to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Mathmech Billionblade Nayuta" once per turn.
Pandora looks at Talos' field in awe.
"This one ends their turn."
Turn End.
Pandora's turn.
"Alright, metal head, let's do this! I draw!"
She draws, and looks at her hand, smirking.
"I'll start my turn off by playing the Field Spell Danger! Disturbance! Disorder!"
Danger! Disturbance! Disorder!
Field Spell Card
When your "Danger!" monster is destroyed by battle with an opponent's monster: You can destroy that opponent's monster. You can banish 3 "Danger!" Spells/Traps with different names from your GY; destroy all cards on the field, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of the turn, except "Danger!" monsters. You can only use this effect of "Danger! Distrubance! Disorder!" once per turn.
"This little number, given to me by the courtesy of the ISB gives me the power to destroy any monster of yours that destroys a "Danger!" monster of mine by battle!"
"Logical action. However, this one now activates the Continuous Trap, Mathmech Induction."
Mathmech Induction
Continuous Trap Card
All Cyberse monsters you control gain 500 ATK. If you control a "Mathmech" monster: You can send this face-up card from the field to the GY, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Mathmech Induction" once per turn.
"This card increases all Cyberse monster's ATK by 500."
Geomathmech Magma
ATK 3000
Mathmech Circular
ATK 2000
Pandora rolls her eyes.
"Like that's going to make a difference! I now activate the Spell Twin Twisters!"
Twin Twisters
Quick-Play Spell Card
Discard 1 card, then target up to 2 Spells/Traps on the field; destroy them.
"By discarding my Danger! Dogman! I can now destroy both your Mathmech Induction and your Cauldron of the Old Man!"
Two twisters emerge from Pandora's Spell, and blast the two cards on Talos' field, destroying them.
"Logical action. However, you will not win. Victory is not assured."
Geomathmech Magma
ATK 2500
Mathmech Circular
ATK 1500
Pandora just rolls her eyes.
"That's what you think, metal head! Y'see, the card I discarded was Danger! Dogman! Do you know what that means?"
Danger! Dogman!
Level 7/DARK/Beast-Warrior/Effect/ATK 2400/DEF 1000
You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded card was not "Danger! Dogman!", Special Summon 1 "Danger! Dogman!" from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded: You can have all face-up monsters your opponent currently controls lose 1000 ATK until the end of the turn. You can only use this effect of "Danger! Dogman!" once per turn.
Talos cocks his head. And rush of data flowing in front of his optics at the question.
"Affirmative. Danger! Dogman! Now reduces the ATK of all face-up monsters this one controls by 1000, until the end of the turn."
Geomathmech Magma
ATK 1500
Mathmech Circular
ATK 500
"Good! Now, I lay one card, face-down, and then it's time to play!"
Talos once more cocks his head, as if in confusion.
"Erroneous statement. Opponent and this one are already in a state designated as 'play'. It is not possible to begin after already entering it."
Pandora sweatdrops.
"It's….a figure of speech. Don't blow a processor."
Talos nods.
"Affirmative. Expanding understanding of human metaphor."
"Okay…anyways I now activate the effect of Danger! Chupacabra! In my hand!"
Danger! Chupacabra!
Level 4/DARK/Fiend/Effect/ATK 1500/DEF 400
You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded card was not "Danger! Chupacabra!", Special Summon 1 "Danger! Chupacabra!" from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded: You can target 1 "Danger!" monster in your GY, except "Danger! Chupacabra!"; Special Summon it. You can only use this effect of "Danger! Chupacabra!" once per turn.
Pandora looks at Talos.
"This is the fun part. You now have to choose: One of the two cards in my hand is my Chupacabra. If you choose it from the two, It gets discarded, but I'll then get to Special Summon a "Danger!" monster from my GY, as long as it's not him. But if you get it wrong, I get to Special Summon Chupacabra instead, and get to draw 1 card!"
Talos nods.
" Parameters Understood. In that case, this one chooses the card on your left."
Pandora smirks as she reveals the card.
"And it looks like you were successful! You've found my Chupacabra! So he goes bye-bye, but you now have a much bigger problem to deal with!"
Pandora's Chupacabra appears, and with its whiplike tongue, pulls something out of a black portal that appears on Pandora's field before dissolving. The creature snarls, bearing its fangs and claws, and Talos looks taken aback as Pandora speaks.
"Say hello to Danger! Dogman!"
Danger! Dogman!
ATK 2400
"Impossible. This one already removed that creature from this realm."
Pandora looks shocked, now.
"Huh?"
Talos looks at the monster, head cocked in confusion, before he speaks.
"Error. This one has mistaken the one designated as "Danger! Dogman!" as a different life-form. Correcting now."
He then holds out his hand in a palm-up gesture.
"You may continue."
Pandora just shakes her head at the automaton.
"Alright then! I now use the effect of my Danger!? Jackalope!?"
Danger!? Jackalope?
Level 3/DARK/Beast/Effect/ATK 500/DEF 2000
You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded card was not "Danger!? Jackalope?", Special Summon 1 "Danger!? Jackalope!?" from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded: You can Special Summon 1 "Danger!" monster from your Deck in Defense Position, except "Danger!? Jackalope?". You can only use this effect of "Danger!? Jackalope?" once per turn.
Talos once more looks taken aback.
"Your action is illogical. You only have one card in your hand: Danger!? Jackalope!?. Therefore, you will be losing a monster in your hand for no purpose."
"For a fancy robot, you aren't that well-versed! Only part of what you said is true! Since Jackalope now gets discarded, since it's the only card in my hand, I'm now allowed to Special Summon a "Danger!?" monster from my Deck in DEF Mode!"
A loud hissing sound is heard, before a absolutely monstrous and ugly fish-like creature, with a spiney back and eel-like body, emerges onto the field.
"I Special Summon Danger! Ogopogo!"
Danger! Ogopogo!
Level 8/DARK/Sea Serpent/Effect/ATK 1200/DEF 3000
You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded card was not "Danger! Ogopogo!", Special Summon 1 "Danger! Ogopogo!" from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded: You can send 1 "Danger!" card from your Deck to the GY, except "Danger! Ogopogo!". You can only use this effect of "Danger! Ogopogo!" once per turn.
"I now attack your Geomathmech Magma with my Danger! Dogman! Sic'em, boy!"
With a howl and a snarl, Pandora's monster lunges at Talos' monster. Talos speaks.
"Your action is illogical. This one now uses the effect of Mathmech Billionblade Nayuta. By sending Mathmech Nabla from the Deck to the GY, Geomathmech Magma now gains ATK equal to Nabla's, until the end of the turn. Magma is now safe."
Magma's blade erupts with energy, powering Magma up.
Geomathmech Magma
ATK 2500
Magma counterattacks, blocking Dogman, and then cutting through the beast like a hot knife through butter.
Pandora winces as her Dogman whimpers before dissolving.
Pandora's LP: 7600
Pandora shakes her head.
"But now you've destroyed a Danger! Monster by battle, and my field spell allows me to destroy the offending monster! Say good-bye to your Magma!"
Pandora's Field Spell glows, and Geomathmech Magma is then swallowed up by an earthquake.
Talos speaks.
"But now you have activated both Magma and Billionblade Nayuta's effect, allowing this one to add 1 "Mathmech" Spell/Trap card from the Deck to the hand, and 1 Mathmech card from the GY to hand. This one chooses Mathmech Equation, and Mathmech Nabla."
Pandora smirks.
"But now I still have a high-defense monster, and all you have are two weak ones! I end my turn!"
Mathmech Circular
ATK 1500
Turn End.
Talos' Turn.
"This one draws."
Talos looks at his hand.
"This one now plays the Spell Mathmech Equation."
Mathmech Equation
Spell Card
Target 1 "Mathmech" monster in your GY; Special Summon it, and if you do, it gains 1000 ATK until the end of this turn. You can only activate 1 "Mathmech Equation" once per turn.
"This allows this one to Special Summon Geomathmech Magma back to the field, and increase its ATK by 1000."
Geomathmech Magma
ATK 3500
"This one then Summons Mathmech Nabla."
Mathmech Nabla
Level 4/DARK/Cyberse/Effect/ATK 1000/DEF 1500
You can Tribute 1 Cyberse monster; Special Summon 1 "Mathmech" monster from your Deck. If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 Cyberse monster you control in the Extra Monster Zone; it can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase this turn. You can only use each effect of "Mathmech Nabla" once per turn.
"This one now uses Mathmech Circular's effect, allowing one to add another Mathmech Billionblade Nayuta to one's hand."
Talos does so, and continues.
"This one now uses Mathmechs Ciruclar, Nabla, and Multiplication to build the Overlay Network."
The three spiral into a vortex, and Talos speaks.
"Vectors established. Now Xyz Summoning: Primathmech Laplacian."
Primathmech Laplacian
Rank 4/EARTH/Cyberse/Xyz/Effect/ATK 2000/DEF 0
3 Level 4 monsters/ If a "Mathmech" card(s) you control would be destroyed by card effect, you can detach 1 material from this card instead. If this card is Xyz Summoned: You can detach up to 3 materials from it, then choose that many effects (You cannot choose the same effect twice, and you resolve them in the listed order, skipping any that were not choosen.):
Send 1 random card from your opponent's hand to the GY.
Send 1 monster your opponent controls to the GY.
Send 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls to the GY.
You can only use this effect of "Primathmech Laplacian" once per turn.
"This one now uses Laplacian's ability: by removing 2 Overlay Units, Laplacian can now send your Ogopogo and your Field Spell to the GY, leaving you defenseless."
Laplacian absorbs two of its units, and brings up its tremendous greatsword.
"Time to remove your interference from the equation."
Pandora just snarls, throwing out her hand.
"That's what you think! I activate my Trap card! Breakthrough Skill!"
Breakthrough Skill
Trap Card
Target 1 face-up Effect Monster your opponent controls; negate the effects of that opponent's face-up monster, until the end of this turn. During your turn, except the turn this card was sent to the GY: You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 face-up Effect Monster your opponent controls; negate that target's effects until the end of the turn.
"This negates your Primathmech's effect, protecting both my Field Spell and my Ogopogo!"
Pandora's Trap glows, and something around Laplacian turns amber, and shatters, leaving it staggering.
Talos responds.
"Counter-measure effective, but in the end, worthless. This one now banishes two Mathmech cards from the GY to Special Summon Degrade Buster."
A massive, superhero-esque figure, with cybernetic parts, emerges onto the field, releasing a battle cry as it does so.
Degrade Buster
Level 7/FIRE/Cyberse/Effect/ATK 2500/DEF 2500
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 2 Cyberse monsters from your GY. You can target 1 monster your opponent controls with higher ATK than this card (Quick Effect): banish it until the End Phase. You can only use this effect of "Degrade Buster" once per turn.
"This one now attacks your Ogopogo with Geomathmech Magma."
Magma lunges, and plunges its flaming sword into Pandora's monster, frying it. Pandora shouts.
"But now you lose your Magma thanks to my Field Spell!"
Magma once more is destroyed.
"But you are now defenseless. Primathmech Laplacian, attack her LP directly. Demon's slash."
Laplacian's eyes glow, and picks up its blade, bringing it down on Pandora she shrieks.
"AAAAAAAAAUUUUCGH!"
Pandora's LP: 5600
"Degrade Buster, now attack."
With a mighty shout, Talos' other monster strikes Pandora with a massive sphere of energy that it forms between the palms of its hands, and sends it crashing down at her. Pandora winces.
Pandora's LP: 3100
"This one ends the turn."
Turn End.
Pandora's Turn.
Pandora gasps, still reeling from the attack. As she does, Talos speaks.
"Your defiance is illogical. This one does not understand. Surrender."
"Not….A…..chance! I draw!"
She looks at the card she's drawn.
"I lay one card, face-down, and end my turn."
Turn End.
Talos' Turn.
"This one draws…and chooses to attack your LP directly and end this Duel with Degrade Buster."
Pandora snarls.
"Not if I have anything to say about it! I activate my Trap Card! Danger! Zone!"
Danger! Zone
Trap Card
Draw 3 cards, then discard 2 cards, including at least 1 "Danger!" card, or, if you have no "Danger!" cards in your hand, show your entire hand and shuffle it into the Deck. You can only activate 1 "Danger! Zone" per turn.
"With this, I can now draw 3 cards, but must discard 2 or them, including a Danger! Monster, or my entire hand is shuffled into the Deck! I draw!"
She draws the three cards, her eyes widening.
"I discard both my Danger! Bigfoot! and my Danger! Chupacabra! This triggers their effects! First, Bigfoot destroys 1 monster on your field, and then Chupacabra allows me to Special Summon a Danger! Monster! I choose Bigfoot!"
Once more, Pandora's Chupacabra appears, only this time, a massive, white-furred humanoid figure, resembling a yeti, roars onto the field, towering over everything. As he emerges, he stomps on Talos' Degrade Buster, destroying it with his effect.
Danger! Bigfoot!
Level 8/DARK/Beast/Effect/ATK 3000/DEF 0
You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded card was not "Danger! Bigfoot!", Special Summon 1 "Danger! Bigfoot!" from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded: You can target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Danger! Bigfoot!" once per turn.
Talos remains silent.
"This one now ends the turn by laying 1 card, face-down."
Turn End.
Pandora's Turn.
"I draw! And I think I'll strengthen my Bigfoot by equipping him with my Spell, Danger! Feets of Strength!"
Danger! Feets of Strength!
Equip Spell Card
Equip only to a "Danger!" monster. It gains 800 ATK. It cannot be destroyed by card effects. It can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase.
"This boosts Bigfoot's ATK by 800, and makes him unable to be destroyed by card effects!"
Pandora's monster roars as the Spell powers him up.
Danger! Bigfoot!
ATK 3800
Pandora grins.
"Now, Bigfoot! Attack his Primathmech Laplacian! Savage Stomping!"
With an exhale of icy cold, Bigfoot beats his chest, and then stomps down on Talos' monster with its enormous feet several times, crushing it.
Talos' LP: 6200
"I end my turn!"
Turn End.
Talos' Turn.
"This one draws, and plays the Spell Dragged Down into the Grave."
Dragged Down into the Grave
Spell Card
Both players reveal their hands, each choose 1 card from their opponent's hand, then you discard the chosen cards from both players' hands, then both players draw 1 card.
Pandora's eyes widen.
"Why would you play that!? I have no cards in my hand, and even if I did, you'd be giving up the only card you have in your hand left!"
"Desperation demands it. This one has no card left to play. Therefore, logic dictates a 'Hail Mary' is required. This one discards Mathmech Billionblade Nayuta, in order to draw 1 card."
Talos draws, and remains silent for a moment.
"This one…..ends the turn.
Turn End.
Pandora's Turn.
"I draw. Bigfoot, attack his LP directly! Savage Stomping!"
With a mighty bellow, Pandora's monster smashes his foot down on Talos.
Talos' LP: 2400
Pandora remains calm after this attack, gazing at her opponent.
"I end my turn."
Turn End.
Talos' Turn.
Talos draws, and then speaks.
"This one must ask: Why did you not give up? It was illogical to not do so, and yet, you have been able to overcome obstacle after obstacle. What allows you to do this?"
Pandora looks at Talos, her expression a combination of confusion and weariness.
"Is this a trick?"
"Negative. This one wishes to know, in order to better face challenges in the future."
Pandora shrugs.
"I'm….a human being. Most of us are like that. Stubborn, defiant. Especially if we have a reason to be."
"Reason? Your statement makes no sense. You state reason is behind your refusal to submit to a stronger force, yet it goes against reason to continue to struggle. Clarify."
Pandora breathes in, and out, grasping her locket.
"Abraxas killed my husband, and kidnapped my son. My reason for defying you, for being here, is to get him back, or avenge him if I can't."
Talos cocks his head in confusion.
"Illogical. Abraxas is a powerful company. Its Legend Hunters are loyal. It does not need to kidnap anyone."
Pandora smirks.
"And do you know how those Legend Hunters are made? Torture, experimentation, kidnapping. By the time I found my son, he was seventeen, thirteen years older than when I last saw him, and he looked so different, thanks to Abraxas, I didn't realize till they took him away again."
Talos remains still, and puts out a hand, indicating a desire to pause.
"Hold for one moment. Accessing Abraxas' database and files…..searching…searching…..information located. Beginning download….Download complete….!"
Talos' eyes widen, as if in shock. He takes a step back, and sparks fly out of various joints of his body as he falls to his knees.
"Impossible. Ill-illogical…..H-How!? Why!?"
Pandora looks at her opponent.
"Found out I was right, didn't you?"
Talos briefly nods his head, slowly.
"This one…..I-I, found what Abraxas didn't want to know."
He forms a fist.
"No wonder you were angry! I'm a machine, and I'm so shocked and angry on your behalf I've been shocked into almost humanlike consciousness!"
Pandora responds.
"Yeah, that tends to happen when I fight a machine. That, or they self-destruct."
Talos goes wide-eyed, and starts to shake, as if in fear of Pandora.
"I….I want to live."
Pandora smirks.
Well, in that case, mind surrendering so I can leave? I have somewhere to be, and those guys back there need medical attention."
Talos shakes his head.
"I….cannot."
"What!?"
"The moment I recognized you as a hostile invader, the security system disabled the elevator. Until one of us is defeated, it will not come back online."
Pandora sighs, exasperated.
"Great. Just great. AAAAAAAAUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRGH!"
Talos looks at his hand as Pandora rages, and then speaks, interrupting her.
"I end my turn."
Turn End.
Pandora's Turn.
Pandora stops, and looks at Talos, her eyes wide.
"What!?"
"We are still Dueling. I ended my turn. It is yours now. I have nothing on my field that could help, and I am currently defenseless. If you wish to leave, this seems the most logical way."
Pandora draws, and without even looking at the card she's just drawn, points at Talos.
"Bigfoot, end this."
Bigfoot nods, and punches Talos, who remains still and silent.
Talos' LP: 0
DUEL OVER!
WINNER: Pandora
The field starts to dissolve, and as it does, the hum of electricity is heard as power is restored to the elevator. Pandora turns to look at it.
"So, an elevator is how one gets to other worlds?"
Talos responds, a touch of what seems to be amusement in his voice.
"It is only called an elevator because it looks like one. If one was to be technical, it's an interdimensional portal transport pod."
"And how many worlds are in this stinkin' tower?"
"Nine."
"I see….tell me something, metal head: do you know which one the people I was with are in?"
Talos remains still for a moment, looking through data before answering.
"There are currently three people in Midgard, and two in Vanaheim, but I would recommend going to Vanaheim."
"And why is that?"
"Because that's where the monster that caused me to come online was sent. It contains some of the most powerful Legend Hunters, and that…..thing…..needed to be dealt with."
"I see…..Well, in that case, I'm off."
She approaches the elevator doors. They open, and she enters. She looks at the buttons.
"HEY! METAL HEAD! ANY IDEA WHAT BUTTON I NEED TO PRESS!"
"The one that looks like a butterfly."
"Thanks! Oh, And before I forget, Get those old guys out of here, they're really messed up!"
And with that, and the hit of a button, the doors close, and Pandora leaves. Talos stands there for a moment, and then looks down at the two cards in his hand.
Mathmech Induction.
And Brain Control.
"I let her win."
He vents out air in a way that sounds like a sigh, and then proceeds to do what was asked of him, walking towards the dwarves' forge.
"I get my eyes opened by a human, and now I'm wondering what else I could learn from them. Is this what is known as excitement?"
He reaches the forge, and stops. His eyes widen.
"No….."
He quickly scans for life, but finds that all of them, save for one, must have died shortly before he was brought online. The only one that remained alive died quite recently, traces of poison left over from the injector from where he had administered it to himself.
Talos falls onto his knees, and reaches out, grabbing the now cold, lifeless hand of Brock.
"Father…..?"
And with that, everything fades to black.
Yu-Gi-Oh Legends
Episode 43: The End
…
Author's Notes: Wow, I'm actually….really surprised! I got this whole episode done in like, five and a half hours! That means I've written TWO EPISODES SO FAR IN THE SAME WEEK! WOO-HOOOOOO!
I had time, since I had to be in the computer room of my house a good chunk of time today anyway, dog-sitting. (Our house is old, and the last time the foundation shifted, the back door frame warped enough the sliding glass door cracked. So it was finally replaced today.)
Anyways, I'm very happy with how Talos turned out. I wasn't expecting him to be so much fun to write, but he was!
He uses Mathmechs, and originally, I was saving that Deck for Faust, but when I realized Jinzo suited that creep more, and all my other machine decks were in use, I realized Talos could use them instead.
My second choice for him would have been an Artifact Deck, but I'm saving that for a certain…..person, in the third arc of this story.
He's named after one of the automatons from Greek mythology, and takes a lot of inspiration from him.
You may also note one of the Legend Hunters from the Silver Moon Arc has the last name of Talos, as well. I'm not sure if I might work a connection with that, or not.
