LancetheFox: * I was never big into Sonamy either, but I honestly like Amy's personality because it is unique and distinct. I don't think the ship works, but I think Amy works as a unique character, at least before her Flanderization into a generic female character.

Giyuufan:*

Generalluis: I like Chekov's guns, I love re-readability. I do put a lot of effort into details because of those little bits about me. Love does hurt, but "it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all".

As for the Ending for this story… You might end up hating me for it. I know some people probably will.

Crazybeebee: Surge has been fun to write for. She runs into a couple problems, and I can easily spot a few points where I should have done something else. Who knows, I might re-write this story someday. As for that last bit… stay tuned….

Albian: I take it you weren't a fan of the last part, or were you expecting explosive levels of drama, and was pleasantly surprise by the amount I gave? We have one more Section to do before I do the canon ending, and do the alternatives.

Atypicalgirl: I'm glad you liked it. Vandalize? *Does quick search* Ah, the song people thought said "fuck". As for that song, I debated on adding it to the canon ending, but… I'll explain everything when we get there.

The earth caved as Surge ran across the dirt hills, bolting forward, not daring to look behind her. She had to keep running, to keep him from getting her.

Surge kept pushing herself, running faster to keep going. She ran up the hill as the air behind her began to vibrate. Surge tried to push beyond her already tired body from over the hill.

She felt hands on her back, and the two of them lost balance as Surge rolled down the hill with her attacker. She flopped down at the base on her back as her attacker rolled beside her.

Neither of them spoke for a full two seconds. Then Sonic laughed, "I guess you're it."

Surge finally felt her gut burst as she laughed, "Fine, you won fair and fucking square."

"You done? Already?" Sonic had the balls to ask.

"How long have we been fucking playing this?" Surge groaned, sitting up to look at her playmate.

Sonic laughed, "Alright, I see your point."

"Damn right, you do." Surge groaned, before rising to her feet.

A pompus bitch voice filled the air, "My oh my, is this not such a heart warming scene."

Surge jerked around and saw Starline standing at the top of the hill. "I fucking knew you'd show up eventually you little bitch."

"Oh… am I really that predictable?" Starline's snobby voice made him so punchable yet again.

Sonic, for his part simply sat there, like someone had blasted him with a pause button.

Starline waited as Surge felt her anger start to boil over. Finally he spoke, "I must say, I thought I thoroughly crushed any hope of these delusions, yet your stubbornness still finds a way to annoy me."

"I should have fucking guessed you wouldn't even let me enjoy a fun dream." Surge balled her fist and found herself grinning. She Jumped up and got ready to bring her foot down on the Platypussy's skull.

Instead, Surge's steel bottomed shoe slammed into the grass and dirt where he had been standing. Starline's voice spoke from behind her, "Honestly, do you really think this is how it will end? With the two of you running off in the sunset together like a couple of rebellious teens?"

"What I want is none of your fucking business!" Surge shouted and swung her leg around, only kicking air.

"Oh you and I both know that's not true." Starline's voice practically whispered into her ear as the sun seemed to burn out, leaving only darkness around Surge.

She grit her teeth and shouted, "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" She spun around, looking through the darkness, trying to find him.

"What I want determines what you want. I decide if you meet your family, I decide if you get to run off with your mortal enemy, I decide if you leave! You are my property, mine! I AM YOUR MASTER!" Starline's voice echoed through the darkness, like Surge was trapped in a metal box… or cage.

Surge whipped around and shouted, " No one is my fucking master! You don't decide shit!"

"Oh really, then what is that?" Starline laughed. Surge somehow knew to look at her feet.

There he was… the blue hedgehog, lying face down. Surge looked at her own hands, which seemed to pricked and bruised. Surge felt her own anger emerged, replacing Starline's.

"And what of your family? Will you leave them behind?" Starline's voice laughed as Several green and black tenrecs appeared around Surge.

She screamed, "FUCK YOU ALL!" electricity sparked as the bolts flew around, zapping each copy, only for a new one to take the previous father/mother's place.

"YOU DON'T CONTROL ME!" Surge screamed, firing more bolts. More Tenrecs continued to surround her.

"What are you without your past? A mere spec of flesh drifting in the daily limbo of life itself?" Starline's taunting voice began to pierce her soul, and Surge couldn't hide it.

"Get out here you bastard!" Surge shouted through the crowd of surrounding "parents".

"Honestly, isn't that why you're still there? Because you believe he'll help you find them? Really?" Starline's skepticism was practically dripping.

Surge shouted, "SHUT UP!"

"Come now, when the time comes, he'll abandon you, leave you for the world. Do you really think you're more important to him than anyone else? He'll abandon you all the same. All because you'll seek something selfish." Starline continued to taunt, practically cackling.

Surge finally pushed through the somber crowd of Tenrecs, snarling, and pushing to escape.

"You'll never be able to stand by his side, because as long as you can find out about your past, you'll choose it over him…. and you'll always be alone. A scared imbecile, desperate to find out who she is."

Surge felt what must have been a hundred ton weight on her back as she ran, throwing her to the ground. She felt her lungs compressing as a squeaking noise rumbled over her.

Starline's voice sighed as the Tenrecs closed in on her in a dreary walk, " It seems this game is over… but remember one thing-"

Surge's eyes bolted open into Kit's whimpering form, his eyes gazing back at her.

-As long as your past exists, you'll always belong to me.

Surge panted as Kit seemed to be on top of her, "Get the fuck off me, Drippy!"

She pushed him off the bed and onto the floor. Kit didn't seem to mind, and he popped up, "You were having a nightmare… Ma'am."

"Yeah, bit fucking deal. You just described every fucking night of my life!" Surge growled, sliding out of bed and putting on her quill band. Today was the day.

She'd find out about her past… and then say goodbye to Sonic and his friends. She didn't really care about most of them… but Sonic was a good friend, one she'd def- probably miss. After today, they'd separate, and possibly never meet again.

It was for the best. Starline seemed to set up a nice fucking campfire in her head, so there wasn't a lot she could do to keep those thoughts of maybe strangling Sonic or pushing him into a pool at bay. Surge slumped back, she knew she was a danger to Sonic while Starline was in her head.

But she wanted to stay.

She knew that the Alliance was temporary, and that they would all probably get tired of her really quick.

But she wanted to stay.

Surge knew there was probably a warrant out for her, and she could never be seen hanging around Sonic in the city.

But she wanted to stay!

Surge felt her fingers clench on the bed, before she had an idea. One more day couldn't hurt. Kit looked at Surge with concern, as if her pain was hurting him. Surge smirked, and stood up, "Let's go get some breakfast."

Surge walked down the hall to the stairs and walked into the kitchen. Blue-Faker boy was sitting there, eating some bland eggs.

"What, Fox boy didn't make breakfast?" Surge asked, feeling her wind slightly die from the empty plate. "Lazy little shit."

"He pulled an all-nighter yesterday. Like forty hours." Sonic scolded, shaking his head, "Well, I'll make you some eggs and toast." He stood up as Surge and Kit sat down at the table.

Surge reclined back in the chair as She heard the stove start, and eggs crack.

Sonic sighed, "So, We'll go to Starline's main mountain base, and We'll find out what we can. I did promise you that, didn't I?"

Surge smirked, and closed her eyes as she leaned back, "Why not take a day off?" Surge grinned at the thought as Sonic's scrapping on the stove stopped.

"What? I thought you wanted to find out everything about your past?" The moron seemed to be thrown off.

"Yeah, but it can fucking wait one day. Besides, we might catch Starline at the base. I get to pummel him, you throw him in prison, we all get what we fucking want, and call it an adventure." Surge snorted, letting the chair fall back into place.

She saw Kit's face light up at the thought, which meant he was probably just as if not more thrilled that they'd get more time with their friends.

"I mean, I guess. If you really think so, I wouldn't mind have some more fun with you." Sonic snorted a little dryly. What was his fucking problem?

"What, you fucking tired of me?" Surge asked a little defensively.

"That's cutting it kind of close. If something comes up… I don't know." Sonic sounded really hesitant, like the cowardly bitch he was, "I don't you to have nothing when this is all done. I know you want to find out who you were."

Kill Him right now. Crush his ribs.

Surge almost laughed at the idea, " Starline can't stop us, and we won. Let's fucking party. It'll make the salt on Starline's wounds even better."

Sonic looked away from the pan and Surge grinned at him. He shrugged, before smiling back at her, "Alright, I get it. We'll have one night of fun and partying."

"Damn right. I can find out who I am later." Surge smirked, as Kit continued to beam.

Sonic brought them over a plate of eggs and some dark toast. She ate with Kit, who seem pretty happy. Surge smiled down at her little companion. She didn't really consider him a friend, nothing about their relationship was real, but he was still better than nothing. And he was loyal.

After finishing up eating, Surge put her plate in the sink. "Alright, Let's go out, do some crazy shit, get into trouble. COME ON!" Surge shouted impatiently.

Sonic held up his finger to his lips, "Shh, Tails is still sleeping. Speaking of which, can you get this note to the workshop. I'm going to check and see what's open." He held up a piece of paper

BREAK HIS SPINE!

"Come on, can't we just go?" Surge groaned, partially in pain from the voice shouting in her head and Kit puffed his chest up in defense.

"Look, Last time Tails didn't know where I was, things got bad, and he got hurt a lot. Just drop the note off. Besides, I'm not going to promise you an amazing day only for everything to be closed. Even I'm not that spontaneous." Sonic partially scolded, partially laughed.

HE IS A LIAR!

Surge sighed, turning it into a growl, before muttering, "Fine, Just don't take too damn long." She took the note and ran into the workshop. Surge saw the two-tailed fox slumped against his desk, clutching a piece of paper.

She walked over beside him, and made a scary face at his eyes. Nothing, he was not faking his nap. Surge set the paper down, before noticing the large font of the text.

"WARN SONIC!"

"ATLAS!"

"SHADOW"

"BLAZE"

Surge looked at the note. She could go back to Sonic and tell him… but they'd probably have to run off and cancel the day. She wanted just a fun day with him, a kind off, not really date.

Whatever it was, it could wait, right?

Surge turned around and left both sheets of paper on the table. She had earned a fun day, without any stress. One more day wouldn't cause them any trouble.

Surge ran back into the room to find Kit fiddling with a wrench and a small contraption that seemed to be a screw on a wooden plank. There was a bolt, as well, but it seemed to be a little puzzle. Surge watched the Fennec go to town on the puzzle, seeming to squeak in frustration before switching to a squeak of excitement, then back to frustration.

She heard the air ripple as Sonic arrived back.

He walked inside, and grabbed another pair of shoes.

"Well, are we heading out?" Surge growled, "You better not be wasting my fucking time!"

He Doesn't care! Get rid of him!

"I'm not." Sonic replied, grumbling, "But I do have some stuff to take care of."

He tied the shoes around his waist and walked out the door. Surge and Kit followed him outside.

"Like what?" Surge asked getting agitated. She had one day to spend with her "friend/whatever they were" and he was wasting that time.

"I made a promise, and I'm gonna take care of it. Then We got a day: Arcade, food, a little bit of free time, the works." Blue faker-boy suggested. Why did that stupid promise have to come into play now?

"Dude, can't it fucking wait?" Surge realized how whiny she sounded. That was bullshit, she didn't whine, she demanded!

He think's you're weak, you should kill him!

Surge growled as her head started to ache.

That bitch didn't even budge though, "It can't. I made a promise, and I'm going to keep it. I keep my promises."

Surge rolled her eyes at that bullshit excuse. She didn't want to refute it though, "Alright, Let's just get this fucking over with and get on with our day." Surge really shouldn't have been so hostile to it.

Sonic smiled at her, with a bit of a knowing smile on his face as if he knew she hated the idea of the day being wasted on some bullshit that could have waited, "It'll take, like, ten minutes tops to get done."

"And you need a second pair of shoes?" Kit asked, being the obvious observant one.

"Yeah, I do." Sonic sighed, "Alright, follow me."

He took off, and Surge pursued. They ran to what looked like a large apartment complex. Large buildings with several identical windows loomed around her, except for one building out in the grassy area. It was large, and had a big bell on the top.

Sonic stopped in front of one of the identical buildings. Surge set Kit down as he turned around, "Look, I'll be right back."

Surge grumbled, "Whatever." She sat down by a fountain with sitting next to her. She saw his hands dip into the moving water occasionally putting some into his pack.

Surge then heard a light noise coming from the inside of the strange building in the grass. As she stood up, several mobians came out of the identical buildings, carrying books or computers. Surge ignored most of them, and walked inside the strange building.

That noise she heard was a choir, singing in large room. Surge shut the door behind her, and saw that most of the choir was in uniforms of sorts. There were several benches that filled up the room, all lined up in rows. Surge sat down with Kit in one of the back benches.

The place seemed pretty baren, not many people looking to waste their time in here.

Surge felt someone looming over her. She balled a fist as a soft, "Hello, can I help you with something?" Reached her ear.

She looked up and saw a large sheep in black robes, standing over her with a suspicious kind smile. Surge glared at him.

He seemed to get the hint and held up his hands, "I see, you just came by to listen. Have a good day." As he turned around to continue walking, Surge sighed.

"What the hell is this place?"

The sheep stopped and turned back to face her, with that ever patient smile, "Hell? No, This is place of redemption, forgiveness."

Surge snorted, "Redemption?"

"You sound so callous. Do you not believe in the power of forgiveness?" The Sheep asked ever so patiently.

Surge snorted again as Kit looked up at her curiously, "Look, if knew what kind of shit I did, what's been done to me, you would be too."

The Sheep smirked and seemed to laugh, "You would be surprised how many time's I've heard that. Some have lost their family, some have hurt good people. But they all found encouragement and hope here… well most of them."

Surge almost laughed, "At a choir house?"

"Something like that. We meet every so often, provide encouragement to each other. No man is an island." The Lamb smiled, before seeming to get an idea, "Come by sometime. We have plenty of room. You don't need to give money or anything. Just hear some words of encouragement."

Surge snorted, and waved him off, "Sure, I'll come by when I get some fucking free time. Come on Drippy, let's go." She stood up and the Lamb moved out of her way. She walked out and went back to the fountain.

"Remember, you change unless you want to." The sheep smiled at her.

Faker boy was standing next to a chipmunk with dark red hair. She looked familiar… like… Surge struggled to think of how she looked familiar.

The chipmunk had the red shoes off Sonic's feet, signed with a black marker, and seemed to be posing. A flash from her hand indicated that she finished taking her picture.

Sonic broke off and shook her hand. The Chipmunk threw her arms around him in a hug, before pulling off and running to a few other mobians with her prize.

Sonic zipped back over to them, "Sorry, she wanted to take the picture in front of the fountain."

"Wait was all of this shit over…Ally's promise?" Surge growled, both surprised by the realization and slightly angry that it was the thing that slowed them down.

"Yep, I got some free time, so why not?" Sonic laughed. Surge balled her fist.

Pummel him!

Shut up, asshole Surge thought back.

Surge shrugged, and growled, "Fuck it, let's just go and get this day started."

Sonic laughed a little before letting his face rest in some stupid cocky position, "Alright, let's go."

He took off. Surge picked up Kit and followed him along as they entered the city. Faker-boy stopped outside a large fake-glass building, which seemed to make a large fake skyscraper as an entrance.

Sonic walked inside and Surge actually stayed outside to look around. This place looked a throwback building, and not some new, colorless building.

As Surge was watching, she saw movement out of the corner of her eyes. It looked like a bear and wolf in uniform, both looking at her, squinting suspiciously. They stepped up and walked towards her, their hands on their badges.

Then again, it was probably a hopeful fantasy to think that Central city would forget about Surge's last visit. She balled her fists and they began to spark as Surge got ready to charge the Security guards. Kit saw her and began to release his water tentacles.

Sonic came out, "Ok, We're ready." He pulled them in. As He did, the guards stopped, shrugged and turned around.

He's wasting your time, He doesn't value you

Surge and Kit walked inside and saw the dark room with hundreds of lit up screens all, lined up in rows. In the back, some physical games, somewhere balls were rolled up a chute into a hole, or where a ball was thrown up into a net.

Sonic turned around and held out two plastic cards. Surge raised an eyebrow and picked up one, handing the other to Kit.

"What the fuck is this?" Surge grumbled. She didn't feel like carrying anything around.

"It's a token card. You can use what you don't use today later." Sonic smiled softly, kind of hesitant.

"Later?" Surge growled, before realizing what he was saying. They would come here later… some other day.

Surge looked down at Kit, who was beaming, happy at the idea. Surge growled deeper, "Whatever, let's just have some fucking fun."

Sonic's smile faltered, before pushing back into a grin, " Let's play Gobbleman."

Surge raised an eyebrow, before Sonic took her and kit to a large screen with four cheese wheeps on the screen with different colors.

"Alright, we're trying to get all of the dots." Sonic explained, "Avoid the sheets."

Surge saw that there was only a joystick to it. Sonic pressed the button and their characters set off. Surge began to move the joystick around. Despite her super speed, Surge quickly found herself stuck as a sheet got to her, "BULLSHIT!" She shouted as her blue cheese wheel collapsed.

Sonic laughed, "I'll get us- darn." Surge saw his green cheese wheel collapse. Which left Kit, who was controlling two characters, one with his hands and other with his pack. Still he looped around, sticking his tongue out as his ears rose.

Surge saw him really getting into it. But as he swirled around the board, his pack and his brain must have fucked up the orders along the way. Kit ended up slamming both his models, yellow and red together, causing them both to get caught.

He simply muttered softly, "I failed… I failed."

Surge was about beat him over the head for beating himself up, when Sonic walked, "Come on, it's not that big of a deal. We'll try again."

Surge rolled her eyes, "Look, why don't we try a game that's actually fucking fun." Surge was not exactly enjoying her day with Sonic. Why couldn't they have just stayed back and played video games at home?

Sonic smiled, "it'll get fun, you just need to get over the learning curve."

Surge rolled her eyes, but swiped the card anyways. She might as well play another round, Sonic sounded desperate and insistent that they play the stupid fucking game. So she got ready for a second round, waiting for it to get fun.

And it did. She didn't even realize that on their fourth attempt, two hours had passed. It was fucking crazy, but true. They took one break, where both Surge and Faker-boy took a picture for "Press Reasons". Surge gave a grin, and stuck up a particular finger, while Sonic flashed a peace sign right next to her.

Then it was back to playing.

Surge was only shaken out of her joy by the rumbling in her stomach. She ran into a sheet on purpose before backing off as the dominoes began to fall.

"Surge!" Sonic groaned.

Kill HIM! Destroy him!

"I'm Hungry, Let's go." Surge walked away from the post, and she listened to the sound of three more deaths before Sonic and Kit walked over to her, both looking mildly annoyed.

Surge glared at Drippy, and he remembered his place. Sonic, on the other hand, was not backing down.

She growled, "Fine, I'm fucking sorry. I could have done that better, happy?"

PULVERIZE HIM!

"Where do you want to eat?" Sonic asked in a mildly annoyed voice.

"What? I thought you said you had something planned." Surge grumbled, slumping down as they were going to waste more time.

"Well, we could eat here. They have a small, in-house pizzeria. Nothing fantastic, but it fills you up and lets you keep playing." Sonic laughed a little.

Surge looked at Kit, who cocked his head sideways.

They ate shitty pizza and drank fizzy soft drinks. They went back to playing for a few hours. Surge and Sonic jumped in a rail shooter, panicking when something would jump on the screen. Surge actually got a lucky hit on the spinner and got a bunch of tickets. Enough to afford a fucking sticker.

They took a break from video games and went into something called "Ski-ball". Sonic explained the rules while Kit seemed to look at and examine the chute curiously. Sonic didn't explain that he was third place in a country-wide championship. Not a blow to Surge's ego at all. Fucking bullshit.

And yet, despite the bullshit, despite the cheeky plays… Surge felt… what she thought was normal. She was just a teenage girl, hanging out with her idiot friends. She was playing games, and even Starline seemed to shut the fuck up inside her head… or at least go back to being a whisper. She was having fun.

But like any other time she tried have fun, it was always cut short.

"Excuse me, Sonic the Hedgehog?" A clerk walked over to them on their basketball minigame.

"Yes ma'am?" Sonic asked.

"I have a phone call from Miles Prower. He says it's urgent." The clerk whispered, and Sonic stepped away.

Surge finished her shot and then zipped over to Faker-boy when she noticed he had gotten serious.

"Shadow? The Chaos Emeralds? Crap…. We'll be back soon. Try to get an evacuation going." Sonic grumbled, gritting his teeth, "See you soon." He hung up the phone.

Surge glanced at Him, "What's fucking going on?" Surge demanded, getting very unhappy with the interruptions.

"We're going to have to cut it short. We need to head back." Sonic sighed, before zipping over to the counter.

The Voice of Starline returned to Surge's head.

He doesn't care about you, He only cares about himself!

Shut up Surge grit her teeth.

Surge looked down at Kit, who had finished his shot. Of course, her day would get fucked over.

They met outside, where the sky had turned dark. Sonic threw the damn warp ring, and the walked back into the house.

Tails was looking panicked, "Sonic, this thing is scary."

"We'll talk inside." Faker boy commanded on the porch. They walked in and when the door shut, Tails when to babbling.

"I don't even know why Blaze is here. He got her, he got the chaos Emeralds, he got Shadow. Why didn't Rouge tell us Shadow was missing?" The Fox panicked.

"Shadow is a loner. Him being gone for a while probably isn't anything new." Sonic grumbled as Surge leaned back against the wall.

"Sonic… This thing is massive, and powerful. It's called-" Tails started.

"-ATLAS. Of course." Sonic growled in frustration.

He's going to betray you

"Surge…" Sonic started.

Surge grit her teeth. Of course, she had to pay double, "I know… Fuck it. I'll bring down this asshole. I'll just have to get Starline another time." She growled, before stomping up the stairs. She did this to herself. If they had gone to get the last bits of her past back, then they could have fought the stupid fucking bot.

He's making you sacrifice your past for himself.

SHUT UP! Surge mentally shouted, He's my friend!

Starline's voice laughed, What do you have to get out of this?

But as she slumped down, with Kit crawling in bed trying to calm her down, Surge couldn't shake the feel. Why should she give up her past?

Why should you pay for his enemy?

Surge growled, as Starline continued to poke and prod her brain. Starline had a point though.

Why did she have to sacrifice?
