Sonic: I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog! The Quarters-Finals have begun, and Team Spiders had their hands full beating Adam Taurus. That jerk is leading a rebellion against the White Fang to try and take over it then the world. Got his hands on some rare Gear Part for the race, but it didn't save him from being embarrassed by the Spideys as they won their second race. They're getting good. Looking forward to when we race!

Race 7: Hammer Time

Amity Colosseum, Kingdom of Mistral. Remnant Dimension.

BGM-Sonic Heroes OST-Ocean Palace

Months ago during the Goblin War, Amity Colosseum was destroyed. The original, enormous levitating arena for the Vytal Festival blown to pieces by the Green Goblin's satellites. After the war was over, the grand stage was rebuilt with greater technology from Remnant and Earth in time to serve an additional purpose of being the starting area for the Grand Prix races. The Colosseum hovers high above the gorgeous Lake Matsu amongst its many floating islands, several that were converted into resembling ancient palace-like ruins. Shuttle crafts are transporting hundreds of people to and from various floors, with Amy and Team Sonic walking out of a docked shuttle so the latter could compete in their next race in the All-Stars Block.

"A giant colosseum floating above the ocean and among a flying palace…" Sonic commented on his new racing environment in amazement.

"Letting that scare you?" Knuckles teased his friend.

"I'll be fine as long as we don't touch water." Sonic quipped.

"Who'll you be racing against this time?" Amy asked her friends as she is looking forward to cheering them on.

Tails answers, "A team of Avengers. More Hammer Drones. And-."

"HEEEEEY! SONIC! AMY! OVER HERE!" Happily waving at her mobian friends to grab their attention is Princess Lissa of the Ylisse Dimension. By her side is her tactician friend, Robin, and her older brother, Exalt Chrom. Together, wearing unique medieval-styled racing gear, they form Team Shepherds, and it wasn't that long ago they made friends with Sonic's crew as both parties are super happy to see each other again.

"The Shepherds!" Tails proclaimed joyfully.

"LISSA!" The ecstatic Amy exclaimed before rushing to greet her old friend.

"It's good to see you!" Both smiling girls hugged each other.

"Had a feeling we'd be racing against old friends today." smiled Chrom before shaking hands with the blue hedgehog.

"Must be fate." Sonic quipped, before turning his smile to Robin and waves, "Sup, Robin! You're looking good for no longer being a dead evil dragon."

Robin laughs, "I have you and the rest of our friends to thank for my survival. Seriously, I am in your debt."

"Don't mention it. But don't think for a sec your tactics will help you win this war of races!" Sonic taunted the tactician.

"On the contrary, I have done tons of research on Extreme Gear racing and devised several plans to counter our enemies when on the course. One tactic specifically to counter your speed and skill." Robin claimed grinningly.

"We'll see 'bout that. Can't plan for the unpredictable." Sonic snarked arrogantly.

"Let's go. Race will begin any minute." Chrom ordered, leading his Team Shepherds and Team Heroes into the heart of the Colosseum.

BGM-Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed OST-Sanctuary Falls (Intro)

The seating area is incredibly massive, able to accommodate the large crowds of cheering spectators. The red seats closest to the start line itself are reserved for contestants in the Grand Prix and other VIPs, such as Amy sitting and greeting friends like Pepper Potts, Hank Pym, Sharon Carter, as well as Lucina and Chrom's Shepherds.

Hanging out at the starting area right now is yet another unremarkable trio of Hammer Drones and the famous Team Avengers, consisting of the winsome superheroine, Wasp, the Living Legend, Captain America, and surprisingly Tony Stark himself. "You can upgrade your nuts 'n bolts all you want. None of them is winning this tournament, let alone even coming in third in this race." taunted Tony, still as snarky as ever to Justin Hammer's presence in his face.

"Can't blame a man to keep trying. Just wait 'til one of them nabs that Ultimate Item to rub in your face." Hammer quipped.

"The Dimension Star is programmed to be a rare drop. Your bots would be lucky enough to get a Ring Can." Stark mocked, revealing the name of the Prix's ultimate racing item.

The grinning Hammer scoffs, "We'll see whose luck will run out first. Got some surprises waiting for you loose cannons out there!" He claimed through his foreboding ego as he walks away from the Avengers.

"I'd be surprised if they're not hilariously disappointing." The annoyed Stark quipped, just as Teams Heroes and Shepherds enter the starting area.

"Noticed Hammer is still as full of himself. Surprised you're racing, Tony." Sonic greeted the billionaire superhero.

"Kept my inclusion a secret. Just 'cause I'm the host doesn't mean I can't have fun showing off my tech." Tony smirks while gesturing at his motorbike Extreme Gear to boast, "And this Gear right here is as super awesome as its creator. Would boast more of its details, but I want to save that for the race. If you can keep up."

"Don't have to worry 'bout that!" Sonic smirked, totally confident that he can outpace Stark.

"This will be an honor racing against Avengers of Legend." smiled Chrom, shaking hands with the legendary Captain America himself.

"Likewise, Chrom. I've heard of you and your Shepherds from Spider-Man. Thank you for saving our worlds from the Fell Dragon." Steve smiled back at his new otherworldly friend.

"You are welcome. It was teamwork and the belief in friends that saved our homes so we may celebrate our victory with this tournament." Chrom replied.

"Assuming Eggman doesn't sabotage it." Wasp quipped.

"You mean King Doc?" Robin remarked, "We saw through his disguise right away, selling devices to help other racers. From what we gathered they are legitimate but not his motives. Do any of you know what he's planning?"

"Sonic's the Eggman expert." Wasp snarked, glancing at the hedgehog for some answers.

"Your guess is as good as mine. He's probably waiting 'til the right time to show off his new 'brilliant' invention to rule the Stark Expo." Sonic responded, unknowingly being so close in deducing his archenemy's plan.

"Maniac is still a scientist at heart with an ego as big as the multiverse. Whatever Egghead's up to, let's keep it tight-lipped so we won't cause a panic and have security keep an eye on him while we figure out who races to the finals." Stark suggested to his friends.

"It'll be the Shepherds, no doubt! We've been Gear training against the fastest horses and pegasi in our world for weeks!" Lissa smiled that expresses both confidence and enthusiasm.

Just as eager to begin racing, Tony smiles, "Let's put your skills to the test then!"

BGM-Sonic Generations OST-Seaside Hill (Modern)

All four teams take their positions behind the starting line as crowds are cheering them on in the stands. The countdown hits zero and immediately the riders blast away onto the course. Everyone races a little through the corridors of Amity Colosseum until one trick ramp leads them to speed through the floating islands of Lake Matsu whilst being greeted by a trio of Atlesian fighter jets flying overhead.

"Can't believe we're racing in the sky! This is awesome!" Lissa smiled excitedly.

"Just be careful not to fall off!" Tails advised everyone.

"Unless you're a Hammer Drone! Take a dive for us!" Stark annoys the nearby Drones that were programmed by Hammer to despise him with all their circuity.

So far the track feels breathtaking. It's so gorgeously serene that most racers are against attacking each other for a moment nor are they bothered by the resident Lancer Grimm. Wasp and Robin fly under a series of arches close to a large island structure enjoying the pleasant view, with Sonic racing underneath them as he overtakes Chrom then Captain America with his swift smiling speed. "Keep up, old timers!" Sonic mocked his fellow blue-themed rivals.

"I am NOT that old!" The angered Chrom retorted, "But I'm still not used to riding such flying vehicles."

"Always find it best to work with your greatest strength." advised Cap, transforming his hoverboard into a Gear resembling a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that he always loves to rev while riding.

Smiling deviously, Chrom retorts, "Great minds think alike.", before shouting, "Gear Change: Paladin!" This Gear Part is unique as its crafted from magic, morphing the Exalt's hoverboard into a mechanical horse that boasts amazing speed to easily keep up with Cap's motorcycle. This prompted the other riders of Team Shepherds to also change their Gears, with Robin riding a robotic dragon that dominates the skies thanks to his Wyvern Part, and Lissa also riding a machine-like horse that rampages along the road thanks to her Valkyrie Part.

"Horses and Dragons! Incredible! Team Shepherds just unveiled a uniqueness from their dimension to compete with the universes' greatest heroes!" commentated Lisa Lavender, left just as amazed by their Gear Change as most of the audience.

"Didn't know your Gears could do that." An impressed Sonic commented.

"Magic and technology! The best of two worlds combined!" grinned Robin, darting ahead of several rivals while knocking back both Sonic and Wasp with his draconic turbulence.

"Whoa, he's fast! Better kick things up a notch myself!" retorted Wasp, gear changing her board into an Air Ride Gear Part that materializes a set of insect-like wings that increases her speed incredibly, with Sonic quickly catching up on a large loop-de-loop.

Quickly after, the racers blitz past the starting line to enter the second lap, with Hammer standing at the sidelines with a devious smile on his cocky face. "Second lap already. Alright." The corrupt CEO then takes out his cellphone to talk to a mysterious underling and order them to, "Now's your cue. Spice up this race for me. Gotta keep the audience entertained."

That mysterious underling just happens to be an unimportant employee of his piloting a Hammer Industries' fighter jet alongside the Atlesian jets. The Hammer Jet is flying over a clash between Knuckles and a Hammer Drone, with the former striking the robot with a punch that slows it down for a second until it zooms ahead of him with a powerful boost that enrages him. Before the Echidna could think of catching up, the Hammer Jet blows open a massive hole between him and the Drone that allows the robot to stay ahead. "WHOA!" Though surprised, Knuckles doesn't slow down and instead uses the nearest debris as a makeshift ramp to quickly jump over the pit, "That was close! What was that pilot thinking?!"

The Hammer Jet continues to sabotage the race, flying overhead to drop bombs that suddenly blow up parts of the track, leaving racers like a startled Lissa at risk of falling off the road, "Get the feeling this race shouldn't be so dangerous!"

"That jet is destroying portions of the track! Is this a gimmick or are the racers actually under attack?" A shocked Lavender commentated.

"Moreso the former, courtesy of Hammer Industries to show off our latest in jetplane technology for the Expo." Hammer chimes his way to steal the spotlight from her, "The best way to add a dynamic flair to the race!"

"Are you certain it is not a hidden means to give your Drones an unfair advantage?" Lavender interviewed him, suspecting his true intentions.

"Of course not. I believe in fairness just as I believe in the racers to overcome this exciting obstacle." Hammer lied behind his cocky smirk.

"As always, Hammer disgusts me with his ways to steal the spotlight." Stark joked during the race. After revving up his bike for a speed boost, the playboy CEO continues to surprise everyone with his awesome riding. He competes with speedsters like Sonic and Chrom for the lead position, surfing on an airborne turbulence to an island where a surprise waits for him in the form of that Hammer Jet. It drops a bomb that obliterates the path he was riding, causing him to go, "This doesn't look good!", as he falls from the sky.

"TONY!" Steve shouted in horror from seeing his good friend fall.

"Billionaire Avenger Tony Stark is falling from the sky! Will he recover before he crashes into the ocean?!" Lavender shouted, expressing concern just as much as the audience with the exception of the smirking Hammer.

BGM-Iron Man 3 (The Official Video Game) OST-Gameplay D

"Good time as any to boast what my Gear can really do!" Amidst freefalling like a daredevil, Tony commands his Gear to express the most invincibly awesome Gear Change yet. His red and gold motorbike transforms into a fully-functional Iron Man suit that stunning resembles a humanoid motorbike, which latches onto Tony and flies him back onto the track before he hits the ocean.

"Hiya and bye-ya, slowpokes!" The Invincible Iron Man taunted all his racing rivals that are left in utter shock upon witnessing his fascinating skillset. With repulsors charged, he blasts aside foes like Tails and Lissa. With missiles locked and loaded, he blows away pursuers like Knuckles, Robin, and Team Hammer. And with jet boots at full power, he rockets past the likes of Sonic and Chrom and have them eat his dust as he steals first place and nears the end of the second lap.

"Oh, that's to die for! Honestly? I think that's my favorite Iron Man suit ever." Wasp smiled at her teammate.

"Th-This is astonishing! Tony Stark just merged with his own Extreme Gear! Iron Man has taken the lead as the race enters its final lap!" Lavender commentated with the most flabbergasted expression.

"WHAT THE HELL?! COME OOOON!" Hammer loudly whined at his plans being ruined again whilst the audience roars out cheers for the Armored Avenger.

"Who wears their vehicle as a suit of armor?" The amazed Frederick questioned from the spectator seats.

"Only Tony." Pepper snarked.

"DO NOT GIVE UP, FATHER! BELIEVE IN YOUR FRIENDS TO CHANGE THIS FATE!" Lucina cheers on her father.

"CRUSH THEM, SONIC! CRUSH THEM ALL!" Amy aggressively cheers on her friend.

The other riders made it to the last lap, with a Sonic unleashing a determined sonic boom to catch up with Iron Man. The Golden Avenger fires at him a homing missile barrage that does keep him behind but fails to land a strike on the Blue Blur with his quick evasive skills. "I'm stealing back the lead, Shellhead!" Sonic taunted him.

"No thanks. I like it here. Makes me feel like a winner." quipped Stark, firing a powerful repulsor blast that slows down his blue rival until he makes a surprise comeback with a Spin Dash to his armor.

"Everyone has an item?" Chrom asked his teammates, as it sounds like Team Shepherds is ready to initiate their counterattack that might help them win the race.

"Yeah! Time for the counterattack!" Robin retorted.

"Then spread out! Let's win this for Ylisse, Shepherds!" Chrom proclaimed.

Immediately with her Basketball item, Lissa throws it as if she's shooting powerful hoops at the lead racer, who is unfortunately Iron Man as the attack stuns him long enough for both her and Sonic to overtake him. "Thanks for the assist, Lis!" Sonic said.

"You're gonna regret saying that!" sang Lissa, surprisingly overpowering the speedster with electrifyingly devastating spinning attacks with her giant axe.

While they are riding a turbulence between islands, the wyvern-riding Robin assaults Captain America and Knuckles with Target Torpedoes that they just barely dodge. "I see. Speed, Flight, and Power. Every formation has a weakness. And you flight types have an advantage over us power types." Cap realized the Shepherds' winning tactic.

"Exactly. You're as good as they say, Captain." smiled Robin, unleashing lightning magic that does stun Knuckles but fails to strike Steve thanks to his vibranium shield deflecting the attack.

"Iron Man, I need an assist! Your Speed style will counter him!" Steve ordered.

"One missile barrage coming right up!" quipped Stark, assaulting the Tactician Magician with missiles that slow him down severely.

Amidst racing within a watery floating palace, Chrom is fiercely riding above water to chase down both Wasp and Tails. His Speed Style counters their Flight, and his Bowling Strike separates them for an assaulting succession of high-speed lunges with his Exalted Falchion. "Gear Change: Vision Trap!" exclaimed Tails, obscuring Chrom's vision with multi-colored paint that leaves him vulnerable to Wasp's stings, who then targets the fox cub, "AH! Can't we work together for a little bit?"

"Nope." The smiling Wasp quipped before continuing her stinging assault on her rivals.

'Race is nearly over! Quick, the holograms!' An extremely worried Hammer demanded his Hammer Drones to follow his order.

"Acknowledged." responded by a Hammer Drone, with the whole robot team creating a small holographic army of themselves that serve as the final obstacle on the course that will do whatever it takes to defeat the heroes, embarrass Stark, and give Hammer a win.

"C'mon, Hammer. You're going even further beyond embarrassing yourself." Iron Man joked.

The Hammer Drones and their holograms put up a decent fight against the heroes that last a moment, but that's just it. The fight is hardly a challenge that is over in a flash, with Captain America reflecting lasers with his shield, and Chrom slashing through holograms with his sword. Sonic, meanwhile, spindashes away Team Hammer that leads him into nabbing Target Torpedoes and shouting, "Heads up, guys!", at his teammates to free them from the Shepherds' counterattack.

Just before Lissa could again strike the terrified hedgehog, Knuckles shouts, "Got your back!", and uses a Target Torpedo of his own to defeat the delicate princess and give Sonic room to breath and be shot out of a supercool island cannon that helps him cross the finish line at Amity Colosseum. Sonic came in 1st place, with Knuckles in 4th, and Tails in 5th place. 32 points. And compared to the other teams, it was the grand score that allowed Team Heroes to win the Lake Matsu race.

BGM-Sonic Free Riders OST-Get Ready for the Big Event

"The results are in and the winners are clear! IT'S TEAM HEROES!" Lavender announced with contagious excitement that infects countless spectators sitting around Amity Colosseum, causing an uproar of celebratory cheers for Team Heroes and all teams as a whole.

"HURRAY! WAY TO GO, GUYS!" Amy cheered, overcome with happiness for her best friends' victory.

"SWEET!" Sonic smiled, shooting peace signs at his increasing fanbase while sharing this victory with the friends that helped him win their Quarter-Final race.

"Again and again, why do I keep losing?!" Hammer asked himself, throwing a fit at another frustrating loss.

"Because your machines are heartless!" Chrom answered upon confronting him alongside Iron Man, "Created for the sole purpose of achieving victory! But one cannot win without the heart of trusting in their friends and pushing beyond your limits as a team!"

"You could've just said his tech sucks. Sends the memo faster and is far more insulting." Stark quipped.

"Dunno why you're still cheerful! You lost too! The host of this ENTIRE multiversal tournament was seen LOSING to a bunch of animal kids!" Hammer pointed out in a vain attempt to taunt his rival.

"Hey, as long as I had fun. That's what this tournament is all about." Stark proclaimed.

"I'm still gonna win it now that you're out of the way." Hammer grinned sinisterly, still proud of himself for secretly collecting his enemies' racing data for Eggman.

"Dream on." snarked Stark, once more not taking his rival any less seriously.

"Congratulations, Team Heroes. That was the best race I had in years." smiled Captain America, sharing handshakes with each member of Sonic's team.

"I never knew Extreme Gear racing could be so much fun! We HAVE to make this a yearly event!" Lissa smiled adorably.

"Gotta bother Tony 'bout that, and I'd be all for it." Sonic quipped. The Blue Leader then turns to his teammates with a grateful smile, telling them, "Great job, team. Next up is the Semi-Finals. We're coming for you, Babylon Rogues!" He declared his intentions to defeat the one team that he just knows will give him a true challenge. Unbeknownst to the Heroes, the Babylons were among the countless spectators watching their race. Jet shoots a cocky ominous smirk down at his hedgehog rival, just as eager to settle the score with him once and for all.

KFX Here: Unlike the original story where they were just spectators, Chrom's Team actually participated in the tournament as a special guest team. Also, take note of the Ultimate Item, "The Dimension Star", that I have been building up since the last chapter. It's gonna be important for those big races.
