Iron Man showed off a new Gear Armor and Chrom's team were riding some awesome Gear too! Even when Hammer tried to cheat, it was Team Heroes that stole the win! I gotta do better than them if I want to beat them in the Finals!

Race 8: Can You Feel the Vibranium?

Wakanda, Earth Dimension.

BGM-Tekken 4 OST-A Fist for a Fist

The African nation of Wakanda was chosen to be one of the sites to host Grand Prix races. Ruled by the Avenger T'Challa, also known as the Black Panther, Wakanda is a highly advanced country blessed with the world's only despots of vibranium, the most versatile substance on the planet. Many have tried to steal some for their own nefarious purposes. Very few have ever succeeded. And now, one intruder is attempting to become one of the successful.

"Beginning mission." muttered by a mysterious mobian lynx, wearing a straw conical hat as she hides in the shadows of the Great Mound.

The Great Mound is a mine located underneath Mount Bashenga that houses the vibranium. Whoever this lynx is, she moves like a master ninja as its rare for an intruder to infiltrate the mines completely undetected. Leaping over security without uttering a grunt. Hiding in the shadows when necessary. Taking out guards stealthily. All until she reaches a cache and steal three pieces of vibranium.

But the very instant after the vibranium was stolen, the Lynx was knocked away by General Okoye of the Dora Milaje, an elite group of warriors who serve as the all-female special forces for Wakanda. 'Impressive. I have been discovered.' The Lynx grunted, revealing her glowing red eyes while her menacing silhouette still hides in the shadows.

Alongside two other Dora Milaje warriors, Okoye remains silent to concentrate in defeating the intruder and recovering the stolen vibranium. Armed with Vibranium Spears, the Dora Milaje prove to be an amazing challenge for the Lynx that rivals them in combat but holds the edge in ruthlessness. The ninja hurls one guard to a wall. Then kicks another off a platform. 'My mission is complete…I must return with the vibranium to win the tournament…' thought the Shadowy Lynx, right before being overpowered and cornered by Okoye. Panting in the darkness yet still in possession of some vibranium, the Lynx snarls at her enemy, "This…is FAR from over.", before disappearing into the unknown with a smoke bomb.

Annoyed that the intruder got away, Okoye snarls to herself, "We shall see…"

Meanwhile…

BGM-Sonic Unleashed OST-Mazuri (Day)

Team RWBY, minus Blake, are hanging out in the capital city of Wakanda known as Birnin Zana. Their next race in the Amity Block is in the kingdom and will start soon, giving them enough time to walk around and happily get invested in Wakanda culture thanks to their tour guides and soon-to-be rivals on the track. Team Panther. Princess Shuri, the childish super-scientist. Queen Ororo Munroe, the Storm Goddess. And of course, King T'Challa, the Black Panther. The Royal Family of Wakanda are competing in the DX Multiversal Grand Prix to represent their great nation, and to have fun as a loving family.

"So glad we finally get to visit Wakanda! You have no idea how happy this makes me!" smiled Ruby, touring the city alongside her team members and Team Panther.

"Same place that made me my new arm." Yang flaunted her vibranium arm, "Thanks again, Shuri.", before smiling at her new Wakandan friend.

"You did help save the multiverse. It was the least I could do." Shuri smiled back.

"It still amazes me to learn that you lead the kingdom's science division and you're only as old as us." Weiss said, "It must be a privilege researching vibranium. It's so different from Dust. Ore that is lighter yet harder than steel, completely vibration absorbent."

"Kinda like your Semblance, Sis!" Ruby shares a smile with her older sister.

"But unlike Yang, Vibranium can also amplify mystical energies that is theorized to be more powerful than the Power Cosmic. If tempered properly through a mix of magic and science." Shuri briefly explained the additional properties of Vibranium.

"No wonder Wakanda is renowned as the most technologically advanced nation in the world." Weiss commented.

"And way more advanced than Atlas could ever be." Shuri boasted.

"I'm not going to argue…" Weiss reluctantly agreed with the young scientist.

"Combined with the homefield advantage, do not be surprised when Team Panther defeats you in the race." Black Panther snarked, confident that his team will win.

"You'll be the ones surprised. And the entire world when they see the royal family gets beaten by a bunch of school kids!" Ruby confidently quipped.

T'Challa chuckles, "That'll be the day."

"Howdy y'all!" Suddenly greeting the two teams with a smiling wave is Bunnie Rabbot of Mobius's Freedom Fighters. Approaching them alongside her husband, the skilled swordsman Antoine D'Coolette, and fellow friend, the lazy fisherman Big the Cat. Together with Bunnie, they too are here to race to win under the name of Team Fighters.

"The Freedom Fighters!" Ruby smiled happily at the mightiest mobian heroes.

"Greetings, friends. Welcome to Wakanda." Panther greeted his fellow heroes.

"It's an honor to be racin' in your kingdom, Your Majesty. Just as it'll be an honor wipin' your tail on live TV." Bunnie taunted her racing rival.

"I am the Black Panther. To challenge a king is to face the might of his people. And with my beloved Queen and sister by my side, our speed on the track will be without equal." Panther proclaimed, standing proudly alongside his royal family.

"Unless someone nabs the Dimension Star." Bunnie quipped.

"What's that?" asked by the curious Ruby.

"Haven't heard? It's the best Item in the Prix! A real gamechanger! It runs on ISO-8 that allows you to tap into your home dimension for a big power boost for a moment." Bunnie then gestures to Big as she says, "Big here used his in our first race to have his Froggy grow big enough to hop himself down the finish line."

"It was fun. Had to hold onto his tail so I wouldn't get lost." Big remarked.

"An Item that unlocks a unique ability…Might come in handy." Storm noted.

"If you are lucky. That Item is extremely rare." Antoine claimed.

"Give me a minute in the lab and I'll equip my team with Max Item Rank Plus parts." Shuri quipped.

'The race is about to start! All participants, please get to your positions now.' Jocasta suddenly announced throughout the kingdom, much to the heroes' interest.

"No time!" Black Panther told his sister, "We will win this race with skill, not luck!"

"Alright. But if we lose, I'm blaming you." Shuri snarked, getting herself ready to race with family and against friends.

Soon After…

The sun is setting beautifully at Amanzi Kwakhona Umlambo, a Wakandan canyon with lots of vegetation and picturesque views such as birds flocking over the most sparkling rivers any outsider has laid eyes on. All teams have gathered at the starting area between waterfalls, including Team Egg. Three cybernetic Egg Bosses of the Eggman Empire have somehow been allowed to compete, consisting of the timid Lord Mordred Hood, the enigmatic Maw the Thylacine, and the ninja Conquering Storm who leads the group with calm ruthlessness.

Upon getting into position with her Extreme Gear, Conquering Storm shoots a stern glance at Team Panther, sensing they'll be her biggest enemies when the race starts. Likewise, Team Panther thinks the same of the Egg Bosses and will be ready to counter their tricks on the track. "Are they…?" Ruby asked Bunnie about Team Egg.

"Team of Egg Bosses. Watch yourselves around 'em. Especially Conquering Storm. The lynx with the hat. She's willin' to do whatever it takes to get her way." Bunnie calmly warned the huntress.

"Got it." Ruby acknowledged with a stern nod before they both take their positions as the race begins.

BGM-Sonic Riders OST-Theme of Splash Canyon

At swift speeds past the deactivated electric gate, all riders compete for the lead on this very fast course, with some portions being very wide and open, while others are thin and have little space to traverse through. It didn't take long until everyone rides into a maw of a giant panther statue that leads into a dim-lit cave with shortcuts a plenty, and Shuri unveiling her Vibranium Gauntlets that shoots blasts of sonic energy powerful enough to briefly subdue the likes of Weiss and Mordred. "Let's see your Dust do that!" Shuri taunted the Schnee Heiress.

"You're just asking for trouble!" smirked Weiss, retaliating with glyphs firing ice shards that the Wakandan Princess counters with more sonic blasts.

Not long after exiting the cave, the racers make a sharp turn toward a river that some are experiencing great difficulty in keeping their balance until they suddenly find themselves jumping high over a waterfall, with showoffs like Yang, Maw, Bunnie, and Black Panther performing spectacular flip tricks right before landing on a large pond of water.

"Honey, grind on that rail!" Bunnie quickly points her husband to a nearest shortcut.

"Merci!" Antoine thanked her in French, grinding on linking rails that surprisingly takes him to third place, "I'm in third? That's unusual."

"You won't stay lucky for long, coyote!" Conquering Storm taunted him, as Team Egg will quickly overtake his position.

"When should we bring out the big guns?" Mordred asked his leader.

"Third lap. Continue absorbing energy by any means until then." Connie responded discreetly to her teammates, having a secret plan to win that involves stolen metal.

"Got it." The grinning Maw responded with a thumbs up.

Inside another cave system, Ruby and Yang are working together as an incredible sisterly duo to try and overpower Black Panther. The Scarlet Huntress counters the King's deadly claws with her scythe, with her blonde sister supporting her with shotgun blasts that are powerless against his bulletproof vibranium suit. "Impressive skills but you have much to learn." taunted Panther, easily overpowering the girls by grabbing Ruby's scythe amidst her attack and using her to bat Yang away. "This battle has only made me stronger." He claimed while throwing away Ruby herself.

Upon noticing the huntress was thrown to his way, Maw smiles eerily, "Bottoms up." He then unveils his highly classified experimental cybernetics, allowing him to swallow entire hordes of anything in a whirlwind of energy, with Ruby being an unfortunate victim.

"WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA!" Horrified, Ruby yelled frantically and humorously while pushing herself to the limit to try and ride away from his suction ability. Black Panther backs her up with his vibranium daggers, throwing an explosive one onto Maw's Gear that disrupts his concentration and allows Ruby to speed her way into the second lap.

"Onto Lap 2! So far the riders have been taking this race easy, to understand their environment! My scans don't lie! I can see the fire in their eyes that indicate they are ready to push themselves to the next level! Just what surprises will help them steal the lead?" Jocasta commentated on the race so far.

Subtly, Conquering Storm smirks to herself, 'You'll find out soon enough. The Power of Wakanda will secure my victory over its own rulers!'

As Conquering Storm and Teams Panther and RWBY reach a cave entrance, Ruby orders her heiress teammate to, "Close off the entrance and create for us a ramp!"

Weiss nods, "On it!", before infusing ISO-Earth Dust into her Glyph Semblance to seal the entrance with a large stone wall to block all laggers, slowing them down severely. This includes Antoine and Mordred, both who shockingly and humorously faceplant onto the wall just as it emerged.

"Not fair…" Mordred muttered in pain.

"Big, Gear Change and smash us a hole!" Bunnie ordered.

"Okay." Big complied casually, morphing his hoverbike into a futuristic monowheel just as he reaches the stone wall and effortlessly shatters it with a ramming boost, swiftly allowing himself and others to catch up with their rivals in the cave. Weiss noticed them and scowls, quickly manipulating the earth to form a ramp for just Team RWBY to use and overtake Team Panther in the race.

"Creative use of nature." Storm compliments the huntresses, just as everyone rides the canyon rivers again. "I should take notes!" Her eyes glow white as she taps into her mutant power over the weather, creating a whirlwind that grants her husband and sister-in-law a tremendous speed boost that retakes the lead from Team RWBY. But that's just the start. As they all race over the large pond, she casts down from the heavens a large lightning bolt onto the waters that electrocute all but Team Panther, who are now further ahead of everyone.

"What a MARVELOUS display of the elements! Team Panther is just determined to secure the lead and express to all how THEY rule this land!" Jocasta commentated through her utter amazement of their Wakandan teamwork.

"We're in trouble. Think we underestimated them." Yang frowned, acknowledging Team Panther's incredible skill.

"It is not over until it is over!" Antoine proclaimed determinedly.

"It's not looking too good for us." A concerned Maw told his ninja leader, "Their Vibranium Gear is giving them an advantage. At this rate, we'll lose unless we show off our advantage."

"Agreed. The final lap approaches. The three of us did absorb enough energy. It must be used wisely." Conquering Storm replied ominously, "Maw, you'll be the first! Create for Hood and I a slipstream that will be acknowledged by this whole kingdom!"

Eerily, Maw smiles, "Roger that."

BGM-Sonic Riders OST-Survival Step

By harnessing the absorbed energies of his Gear Part that had been infused with a mysteriously familiar substance, the Thylacine Egg Boss begins glowing purple. And from a cool flex on his board is a fiery purple aura that grants his Gear a massive speed boost, rocketing away at sensational speeds that leaves behind a massive turbulence for his teammates to abuse, which also blast away Teams RWBY and Fighters that were nearby.

"What in the world was THAT?!" A surprised Ruby exclaimed at Team Egg's new unstoppable power.

"That came from…Vibranium!? How did Team Egg obtain Vibranium?!" Jocasta realized, much to her shock and horror as vibranium in the hand of supervillains is bad for the world.

Thanks to his Vibranium Gear Part, Maw has turned into an unstoppable projectile that is plowing through all obstacles as his team breaches into the final lap to confront Team Panther. Storm slows them down with a powerful whirlwind, which is countered by Conquering Storm jumping over the royal family and briefly stunning them with electric ninja stars. "So this was your plan with the stolen vibranium. Absorb enough kinetic energy and hold it in place for redistribution as a radical speed boost that might help you win the race." Black Panther deduced their vile plan with his nation's sacred metal.

"So you figured it out." Conquering Storm remarked, stoically upon realizing the Wakanda King deduced that she was the one who infiltrated his mines for the vibranium.

"Wasn't difficult considering your reputation as the Eggman Empire's greatest ninja. You will return to me the vibranium this instant!" Panther demanded fiercely.

"Never! The vibranium and our victory in this tournament will spread fear to all lands that the Eggman Empire should never be trifled with!" Conquering Storm proclaimed sternly.

"Prove you are more than cowards by defeating us!" taunted Panther, which enrages the Egg Ninja into battling him.

Amid their high-speed race is an epic battle between Team Panther and Team Egg, starring the King and Ninja trading fearsome attacks that barely slows down the other. Just as this race, Conquering Storm is quick to prove herself a deadly fighter to T'Challa with a leaping combo that nearly knocks him off his board until she was repelled back to her own. T'Challa is just as dangerous if not a little more, comboing her with his claws until she glances at an opening to deflect his attacks and stay somewhat ahead of him. Working together with Maw, Mordred uses his trademark cybernetics to influence the minds of Storm and Shuri and give them vertigo, causing them to lose their balance on their Gears and nearly consumed by Maw's suction ability.

"HOLD OOOOONNNNN!" Screaming, a sudden Ruby comes to her friends' rescue while riding a Soda Rocket to get her close enough in striking the snake and thylacine and disrupting their assault on the Panther girls.

"Good timing! Leave the rest to us!" retorted Shuri, combining her sonic blasts with Storm's lightning to severely blast both Maw and Mordred out of their sight.

"You are alone, Conquering Storm!" Black Panther taunted her.

"Not yet!" Conquering Storm scowled, activating her Vibranium Gear Part to grant herself an unstoppable speed boost just as Ruby noticed and evades the slipstream that blasts away Team Panther with her Semblance. The Scarlet Huntress rides the turbulence in a desperate attempt to catch up to the Egg Boss, and she won't be alone. While flunged through the air, Queen Ororo casts a powerful wind that rockets her team to surf the turbulence, right before Yang shows up and knocks Storm off it with a Target Torpedo, severely slowing her down.

"This race is MINE!" Conquering Storm proclaimed as she arrogantly glares at the finish line she's nearing.

"Wrong!" retorted Black Panther, fiercely nearing the supervillain from behind to mockingly say, "For an enemy of Sonic the Hedgehog, you should know that SONICS is the weakness of vibranium!" He quipped, signaling Shuri to trick off the turbulence just to fire a charged sonic blast at her Extreme Gear, causing it to explode and having Conquering Storm eat dirt. Knowing she has lost, the Egg Boss does nothing but scowl furiously at Black Panther finishing the race in 1st place, Ruby just barely finishing it in 2rd place, Yang coming in 4th place, and Weiss in 6th place.

"Let me see here…" Jocasta scans the final results for a moment, "12 points to Team Egg…15 to Team Fighters…27 points to Team Panther…And 28 points goes to Team RWBY! By just ONE POINT, the Huntresses defeated the Royal Family! THIS WIN GOES TO RUBY AND FRIENDS!" She announced joyfully to all cheering crowds and viewers.

BGM-BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle OST-Results Screen

"By just a point…" Weiss commented, amazed by their narrow victory.

"Okay, THAT was close call." Yang acknowledged with a frown.

"We still won and get to move onto the Semi-Finals. That's all that matters." Ruby smiled, taking cheery pride in their win.

"Congratulations, gals!" Bunnie smiled, joining Team Fighters in congratulating their huntress friends for winning the race, "That was an intense race! All of us had a blast! Even with Team Egg cheatin'!"

Speaking of Team Egg, Black Panther recovers the stolen vibranium that was used to enhance their Gears. "The vibranium is back where it belongs, just as you three behind bars." He taunted the defeated supervillains.

With a stern glance, Conquering Storm notices the Dora Milaje rushing to arrest them and scowls at Panther, "Congratulations on this victory. It will be your last.", before dropping a smoke bomb that helps Team Egg flee the scene.

"Ninjas. Got to love 'em." Shuri shrugged sarcastically.

"Shall we pursue them, my King?" Okoye asked.

"No. Their plan has been foiled and they have been disqualified from the tournament. Allow them to savor this humiliation." T'Challa ordered.

Okoye smiles, "Of course."

BGM-Rockman. EXE Sound Navigation OST-Enzan

As Team RWBY is ready to return to Golden City for a well-earned break, they hear someone supposedly clapping for their victory nearby. That someone being Cinder Fall, looking cool while she claps and with her mischievous teammates by her side. "Cinder." Ruby noticed her true racing rival.

Smiling to herself, Cinder says, "As a show, it was great. I had fun watching it. But…" She shoots a disappointing look at the huntresses that expresses, "It was the worst race I've ever seen."

"What!?" Ruby growled angrily, which is where the mocking ends as Team Toxin walk away to do their own thing.

"What's with her?! God I really hate her attitude!" Yang scowled furiously, with her teammates sharing the sentiment of despising Cinder's group for their taunts and mocking.

"To be fair, you did win with luck." Antoine proclaimed.

"A win is still a win!" Yang retorted.

"Ignore her." said Black Panther to personally congratulate the huntresses for defeating his family, "You three race well. Teamwork and compassion blessed you with this victory. When the time comes for you to race against her team, Bast knows that YOU will prevail."

"You have two Goddesses praying for your victory. Good luck, Team RWBY!" Storm smiled warmly at her dimensional friends, which cheers them up greatly.

"Thank you, Your Majesty. Your Highness. We will defeat Cinder and make it to this Finals!" Ruby declared with a determined smile.

"How 'bout give us some vibranium as a victory gift?" Yang slyly asked the royals.

T'Challa laughs, then just plainly replies to her with, "No."

KFX Here: An appropriate chapter to celebrate the upcoming film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (a film that I am conflicted with because I don't like the idea of killing off Black Panther, though I understand why). The Quarter-Final Races ends next, featuring the unstoppable return of Team Supreme.
