"Certainly sounds like a plan... and certainly wouldn't draw much attention, depending on where we go through.", Haku said.
"Just to quickly ask before we go... we're just testing at the moment, right?", Jason asked. "We're not fully doing everything we're saying yet?".
Emma shook her head, "Not yet. We'll take one thing at a time...", before walking up to lay a hand on the tree, "Alright, join me like this, and I will focus on making this to fruition.".
The others followed her and obeyed her, and Emma took a deep breath, her hand glowing strongly in blue light as the Stones glowed in unison, and Emma chanted in an ancient language as the tree wrung under her hand, with the trunk growing and twisting around, creating a doorway of a standard door size, showing a large backyard.
Emma grinned as she stood back, with the others on either side of her, and she chuckled, "Good to know that my memories are still fresh about my uncle's backyard. With Dad gone from Earth to here, my original house already must have been sold, so my uncle's backyard is the next thing I can think of.".
"Do you think anyone's home? I mean, would you rather prefer to give your family at least a heads up that you're coming back and all?", Logan said. "Yeah... maybe not the best idea to pop in unannounced. Might cause a scare.", Jason added.
Emma chuckled softly, "Yeah. Haku, do you still have some parchment in that satchel?", with a smile, and Haku smiled, "I believe I do.", checking his satchel, pulling out a parchment paper, and Jason conjured up a self-inking quill from a nearby feather, "There you go, Emma.".
Emma smiled gratefully, and Logan spun around to Emma who wrote the parchment on his back with the quill and blew on it with warm breath to dry it and rolled it up with her scrunchie to secure it.
"I hope Uncle Red's dog is still around.", Emma replied before whistling sharply with two fingers, and a dog door in the back of the house opened up, with a Jack Russell-Husky mix, sniffing as Emma called out, "Roy! Come here, Roy!".
Roy pricked his ears, hearing a familiar voice, and barked as he pranced down the stairs, sprinting, and whined as he smelled Emma inside the tree, looking at her, and Emma smiled, and passed the scroll through the portal, dropping it before Roy.
"Go to Red! Pick it up and take it to Red!", Emma smiled widely with a tone of order in her voice. Roy barked as he then picked it up in his jaws and turned around to run back to the house.
"Let's just hope he doesn't accidently eat the message.", Logan joked. "Roy's a good dog, don't worry about it.", Emma assured him.
After a few minutes, a group of humans came out, and Emma smiled widely as she recognized them with joy, and they looked around as Emma glanced at the others, "Most of you, stay here, and Haku come with me.", and she stepped through the portal, feeling only a little pop in her ears, probably because she's crossing space and all, with Haku following by, and emerging out from the backyard tree.
Haku blinked, "Well, looks like it works officially.", with a grin at Emma, and Emma rolled her eyes with a smirk, "I told you so.", before hearing a laugh, and seeing a blur of brown hair as someone nearly crashed into her.
"It's really you, Emma!", Polly smiled widely, and Emma hugged her warmly, "Hey, beanpole, look at you, you got taller!".
"Jesus... I can't believe it...", Red said as he walked up to her. "Hey, Uncle Red.", Emma smiled. "How's everything been since Dad left with Kyle?", she asked.
"It's... been complicated, to say for sure... honestly would've not believe it if not for the kids telling me about your son that day... he is your son, right?", Red said with a nod.
Emma nodded with a proud smile, "He is. He's waiting back with my other children and husband, and Dad's doing great. He thrives on being a grandpa and everything.".
Red looks relieved, "That's good to know that my older brother is safe and well. I apologize, but the kids, they told the rest of the team's cousins and siblings...They really banded up together after your and the others' 'deaths'.".
Emma chuckled, "I couldn't blame them...Hi, Aunt Daphne.", smiling at her aunt and Red's wife, and Daphne sobbed, "Look at you, you're truly flesh and blood.".
Emma smiled warmly, "All me, Aunt Daphne. Hey, Brad, Tammy, you're looking great. Did you graduate high school, Brad?".
Brad looked sheepish, "Yeah, on honors roll.", and Emma hugged him, "That's wonderful! Ryan would be impressed, I know it!".
Tammy smiled, "Oh, I bet he would. So, what is going on? Kyle mentioned a few things about you fighting a bad guy called war.".
"It's a long story...", Emma admitted. "Trust me, you wouldn't believe half of it... but the good news is that it's been over for quite a few months. We finally won not too long after Kyle and Dad returned from Earth.".
Haku nodded, "Yeah, all of Enchantia is at peace now. The team got married mostly, with a couple of the guys engaged or dating, though they call it courting.".
Polly blinked, "Enchantia? We're actually right about it being a fairy tale land?", and Emma chuckled, "In some respect, yes, but it's Disney with many twists, very different from several movies in ways. Anyway, I was hoping that all of you could want to come home...to live in a different world. Oh, there's no tv or extremely modern stuff, but it's so much better with no pollution, no car traffic, no taxes or bills. Basically, all Enchantia buildings are made of magic, more or less, with the bathrooms and kitchen appliances running on magic, so there's no electricity...We have Pegasi, Griffins, ice dragons, Martags, Ketaks for air transportation, with horses, carriages, and sleds on the ground, with ships and boats in the water.".
"I don't know... seems like quite a bit to give up here.", Red chuckled at the suggestion. "It would take a while to get used to, for sure, but it certainly is much nicer.", Haku pointed out.
Tammy squealed excitedly, "Sounds fun! And is everything real about true love and all?", and Emma smiled, "Well, you'd love the fact in that my husband is John Silver of Treasure Planet, hmm? Through I am sorry to say that Jim is taken already, he's dating Eilonwy of the Black Cauldron.".
Haku chuckled, "And I am dating Pocahontas, and we have a son named Koda, the same Koda from Brother Bear, but human and a slightly different personality.".
"Wait... what's Black Cauldron?", Tammy asked. "Oh, right, they tend to bury that one...", Emma tapped her head; remembering how that film often a black sheep amongst Disney's animated catalog was.
Polly blinked, "Oh, gotcha, it was Disney too. What about the rest of the team?", and Emma chuckled, "Zuri is married to both Ariel and Eric, through they're looking to redo a better wedding. Jason is married to Mulan, and got a son, and expecting a daughter. Logan is married to Jasmine and adopted two twin boys. And Pippa is engaged to Adam aka Beast and adopted a baby girl.".
Brad whistled impressively, "Dang! That's a lot of stories to hear about! Mom, Dad, can we go, please? I can find something I can enjoy there.", and Haku smirked, "Good to know. The job aspect is apprenticeship by mentors, a good pay here and there, and after a few years, you became a master at that job. Greg, Emma's dad is being apprenticed to be a blacksmith.".
Red widened his eyes, "Whoa, that's pretty cool.", and Emma nodded, "Sure is. He loves it.", with a smile, "So, if you want to come, all of you, only pack your books, clothes, and the family pictures.", before glancing at Red, "I presume that Ryan is buried downtown? Dad told me about him.", leaving the fact that she had reunited with Ryan on her trial journey.
Red gave her a look. "What... what exactly are you wanting to do, visit his grave?", he asked. "Something along those lines... uh, listen, Uncle Red... let's just say that death isn't as a certainty as you would think...", Emma rubbed her arm.
Aunt Daphne looked at her, "What do you mean by that, Emma?", and Emma exhaled, "As you know, fairy tales has magic of all kinds, and I and my team has found a unique magic within the Stones on ourselves. It's nothing evil or bad, I promise, and it brings all body and soul and mind together in a life ritual...The first time we did it was when we brought Ariel back from the realm of beyond the living. She was killed by Ursula one moment, and now the next, she's expecting twins, breathing and alive.".
They all looked at her with shock. "I know it sounds crazy, but it is true. And I'm hoping maybe we could do the same for Ryan. I don't know if it'll actually work, if Ariel with us was just a one-time thing, but I feel like we have to try.", Emma finished with a nod.
Aunt Daphne gave a sniffle, "His life was cut short...Ryan was only a junior in high school...Are you taking him along over to Enchantia?", and Emma nodded, "Yeah, the magic is stronger. Here, it feels somewhat dull, even with the Disney Parks and such...", with a frown as she blinks, realizing that she somehow knew it.
Uncle Red squeezes his wife's hand, and exhales, "I know you, Emma. You are stubborn and determined when you want to be. Just...be careful with his coffin and watch yourself...We will pack while you get him...", with a small smile.
Emma nods, "I will.", with a nod, and creates a portal to the graveyard, and steps through, with the portal closing after her...Haku blinks, "Well, our gifts work too. That's helpful.", and Polly widens her eyes, "That's normal for her?".
Haku smiles sheepishly, "Pretty much for some time, yeah. It's really a long story, but you heard her. Go pack up the essentials she wanted you to take. I'll wait here.". Red shook his head, "She's right... it's going to take a lot to get used to."
"I'm a bit more worried about just vanishing and all to this place. Are we coming back and forth or is this a permanent move?", Daphne asked.
Haku replied, "Emma wants all of you to be with her, she needs her family, and I have some gifts myself to change things like make people think that you don't exist in a way. Look, I understand that this is huge in retrospect, but Enchantia is a secret world, and plus, it's still coming around to have peace and joy after so much time of war, we can't afford to have Earth attack Enchantia, especially when there's so many people who are close-minded, and so much pollution, environmental problems and such.".
"I get that...", Red admitted. "Just not exactly something we've truly prepared for.", with a sigh. "I understand.", Haku nodded. "I suppose Emma is being a bit fast with these things; at least you should have a few days to sort some things out. Of course, you can talk to her about that.".
Brad replied, "Maybe it's best to go one by one. I don't have school as I graduated months ago, and since it's almost Thanksgiving, maybe I should go first to give Enchantia a try, and then tell you if it's fine or not, but honestly, Mom and Dad, the only friends I had was in the basketball team, and they already are off to scholarships, and well, maybe I can be the first basketball teacher in all of Enchantia while finding true love...", with a shrug.
"That's certainly one way of looking at it.", Haku chuckled. "Honestly, it's amazing how love can find you out there; I really didn't think I'd end up falling with Pocahontas.".
Tammy asked, "What happened to John Smith? Or even dare I say, John Rolfe?", and Haku sighed, "Smith was killed by dark magic, thanks to Ratcliffe. Koda is his biologically, but he died before Koda was born. He gave me permission to make Pocahontas's life whole again, for her to move on, for Koda to have a happy life with me as a second father. And as for Rolfe, beats me, I haven't seen him around. He's either dead thanks to the war or traveling through Enchantia like a nomad.".
Polly giggled, "Is Koda adorable as I imagine?", and Haku smiled fondly, "He's already crawling like a trooper, and he's quite adorable, but mischievous. He loves stories and songs and has a hearty appetite.".
"Aww, he sounds like a sweetheart!", Daphne cooed, and Haku chuckled, "Yeah, I and Pocahontas think so. Brad, go pack up. I and the others will talk to Emma when she returns.".
"Alright then.", Brad nodded as he started to walk away. "Do you think it'll work? About Ryan?", Red asked Haku.
"As Emma said, who knows, but she seems fairly confident about it.", Haku replied. Daphne exhales, "I hope so.", her heart beating at the thought of her son's life starting again..., and two minutes later, another portal appears, with Emma shrunk down in her dragon form, holding a coffin in her tail, and rested it down besides the portal tree.
She changed back to human, smirking, "Turns out that Space hid me from the entire graveyard cameras and all. Ground's all cleaned up. Took a bit to dig and all, but got him.", before noticing the gaping faces, "Oops, sorry, first time you saw my dragon form there, huh?", with a sheepish chuckle.
Tammy whistled, "Now I understand what Kyle meant about you being dragon sometimes. Is it the same for you too, Haku?".
Haku grinned sheepishly, "Yeah, but I am far smaller, and a different color at that. The team all has it in different colors and sizes and shapes. Everyone calls us dragon shapeshifters, hence why they gave us a team name, United Talons.".
"Emma... could you just...", Daphne looked away. "I'm sorry, just the whole digging Ryan back up thing...", looking upset.
"Sorry, Aunt Daphne. I can quickly get the coffin out of here fast; at least out of your sight since it's obviously upsetting you. I know; I felt bad while I did it. Especially if this doesn't work.", Emma bit her lip.
Emma walked to the coffin, shifting up again, and took up the coffin in her tail, gently putting a paw on the portal tree, and saw the rest of the team nodding to her with gentle, understanding looks, and she gently passed the coffin through the portal, seeing the others receive it with firm hands, moving it to the side, and Zuri gave her a thumbs up.
Emma nodded gratefully, and shifted back to human once more, "They got him safely.", before blinking, "How come you ain't packed yet?".
Uncle Red exhales deeply, "Since the portal works and all, can you give us a few days to sort stuff out, and make calls to Zuri's ma, Pippa's dad? Brad suggested that he goes first to give Enchantia a try for those few days before you collect us and the others.".
Emma looked back at Haku, "He's right, Emma. At least give them a bit of time and all before they leave.". Emma gave a small nod, "You're right, I guess I did just spring all this on you and you should at least have time to prepare and sort out some things before leaving.".
Tammy grins, "But you don't have to worry about us no more, Emma! And besides, junior high school was getting stuffy for me.", and Polly nods, "Yep! Thanksgiving is around the corner, and I am finally old enough to play older kids' games!".
Emma chuckled warmly, "You sure are. You're in luck, we have been teaching Enchantia about holidays. Halloween was a hit and miss here and there, especially with the fact that dressing up to be scary is a bit iffy with many people, through the kids enjoyed it, especially when we 'invented' s'mores and hot chocolate.".
Daphne smiled, "That must have been an incredible first experience for them.", and Emma nodded with a fond smile, and heard footsteps, looking up to see Brad coming out of the house, with two duffle bags and a basketball ball, "Hey, Emma, all set to go, and I thought if I am to be a mentor and master of a trade, why not teach basketball?".
"We'll have to see on that; if you wish to do that, no one will stop you, but I think right now, you should get yourself familiar with the world. At least you won't have to worry about being thrusted into fights like we were.", Emma said.
Brad nodded, "Fair enough.", before hugging and kissing his parents and his siblings, "I'll be fine, guys. After all, I got Emma and her team around.".
Daphne smiled tearfully, "I know you can take care of yourself, sweetheart. Just be yourself, have fun, and remember to respect others the way you want to be respected.".
