No. 25 Silence is golden ("You better start talking.")
~
"You better start talking."
Another punch hit him straight in his face. He could taste blood in his mouth and quickly spit it out.
Ha! Did they really expect him to talk just because they beat him up? Well, he wouldn't.
Keenser was good at being silent. To be quiet was all he had done for most of his life.
He had always been the silent watcher, analyzing others from afar. Why would he need to talk? There was no need for words most of the time anyway.
But his tormentors were humans. Humans always talked and talked. And sometimes, when words didn't work, they used actions.
Like punching and kicking.
It wouldn't change a thing.
Keenser would stay silent. Forever and ever.
They wouldn't get the information from him. He would never tell them where the crew had hidden the tricorder holding all the important data these guys needed.
Another punch. More blood in his mouth. More bruises.
His skin was hard. He could endure the beating for quite some time even though it hurt. Every human would have passed out by now or worse. Luckily though, he was Roylan.
Keenser let out a trembling sigh.
"Talk!"
He chuckled and shook his head.
Never. He wouldn't betray the people he loved.
They would find him, sooner or later, and until then he'd stay silent.
After all, silence was golden.
