Kyandi: And we have come back, for a second chapter today!
Elektra: If truth be told, she has about the first ten chapters already all written out.
Kyandi: Yep. In-between the time my laptop died, and I got a new computer, I just wrote everything by hand. I now have two journals worth of material to type and share with you all.
Elektra: And she will continue to do so until she runs dry.
Kyandi: Pretty much. Anyway, lets get on with this. I have another twist about Elektra to show all of you.
Elektra: And the mystery grows…
Kyandi: Kind of. Everyone, enjoy and review.
Elektra: Kyandi-sama does not own Fire Force.
Chapter 3 Welcome to Company 1
"Shinra!"
Several days later found Elektra looking up from her work as Obi rushed into the office, the doors bouncing off the walls as he shoved them open. He didn't look to be in a good mood as he approached Shinra, and Elektra released a sigh.
"Here we go again." She muttered to herself, shaking her head.
"My locker's been vandalized again! I've had just about enough of this!" Obi declared, Shinra looking up from a bento he was eating.
"I told you, sir! I didn't do anything!" Shinra complained.
"Shinra is busy eating the lunch I made." Obi grit his teeth as he realized that Hibana was there, once again. "Don't interrupt."
"It was you again, wasn't it? What are you doing here, anyway?" Obi demanded.
"It's my lunch break." Hibana replied. "And…and don't get any funny ideas. I forgot that I brought a lunch from home, so I bought some snack bread. I couldn't eat it all myself, and I didn't want it to go to waste. What choice did I have? I had to give it to Shinra."
"You know…that's not what I was asking." Obi turned to Shinra who was still eating. "Shinra! Do something about her!"
"What?!" Shinra swallowed. "But this lunch is crazy good, sir!"
Elektra stifled a laugh as Obi ran a hand through his hair. "I'm trying to figure out how we're going to investigate Company 1! Stop giving me extra problems!"
"Aww, you haven't come up with a plan yet? You stupid, incompetent, all-brawn, no-brain gorilla." Hibana taunted.
Obi, trying to gain someone on his side, draped an arm around Shinra's shoulders. "I'll take you out for ramen again sometime! All you can eat!"
"Ramen, sir?! Let me finish this and I'm there." Shinra replied, excitedly.
"What?! Now?"
Elektra snickered quietly to herself. Obi really should have seen that coming, she knew. Especially when Arthur chimed in, wanting to go too. Obi tried turning to Maki for help, but she and Iris were too fascinated by Hibana's flower-shaped flames. Obi turned to Hinawa next, but the man was too busy with reports to be bothered. Down to his last subordinate, Obi turned to Elektra, giving a pleading look when she finally looked up from her work to meet his eyes.
"My apologies, Captain, but we're out numbered here. Best to let it go and regroup, least we lose the war as well as the battle." Elektra advised, making him hang his head because he knew she was right.
"Elektra," Elektra looked up as Maki called her. "Time to go. We're off to borrow the boys' shower room."
"Right," Elektra got to her feet, grabbing her shower stuff from under her desk.
"I'm sorry we have to keep doing this." Iris added as Elektra joined them.
"What? Don't you have a girls' shower room?" Hibana asked.
"It's out of order at the moment." Elektra informed her.
"You wanna leave this rundown company and join mine?" Hibana offered.
Elektra opened her mouth to reply, but Obi cut her off. "Scouting is prohibited at this establishment!"
Elektra found herself laughing as she followed Maki and Iris out of the office. Hibana joined them for a shower.
"Oh, it's actually pretty clean." Hibana remarked, looking around at the steam-filled showers.
"Why are you bathing with us, nee-san?" Iris asked.
A squeal left Iris as Hibana suddenly came up behind her and cupped her breasts. "I'm here to make sure you've been maturing properly."
"Don't do that! It's dirty!" Iris scolded.
"Excuse me. My body is very clean." Hibana retorted.
"That is not what I meant!"
Maki heaved a sigh. "You two are so lucky. Look at those soft, feminine bodies."
"What's wrong with yours?" Hibana asked. "Those finely toned muscles are beautiful. I wish my company would take a page from your book."
"Eh heh heh…you…you think so?" Maki asked sheepishly.
"I think you're completely gorgeous, Maki. Especially when you compare your body to mine." The other women turned to look at Elektra as she slicked her hair back from her face to wash it. They had a full view of the burn scars that marred the left side of her body, the marks even curling up over the left side of her face. They raced down her side, curling down the length of both her arm and leg and flared out over half of her back. "There's really nothing pretty about all these scars. Well…except this one."
Elektra's hand lowered to trace a crescent-shaped scar just curled just under her bellybutton. It formed just along the bottom curve of her stomach. A fond smile curled her lips as she drew her fingers across it.
"What is it from?" Maki asked.
Elektra's lips twitched into a playful smirk, and she raised one finger to her lips. "That's a secret for now."
Maki complained that it wasn't fair, but Iris turned her attention back to Hibana. "You're not really here to see Shinra-san all the time, are you? You're getting ready to do something dangerous again."
"Yes, I am going to help with the Company 1investigation. It could mean war. We don't always see eye-to-eye, but Obi is a shrewd man…he'll have a plan soon enough." Hibana answered. "And I was never coming to see Shinra."
"What's this I'm hearing? Is somebody in love?" Maki asked, a dreamy look on her face.
"Here we go again. Maki-san's head is full of flowers and wedding bells." Iris remarked.
"Oh, it's not that bad." Maki assured her.
"You sure about that?" Elektra raised an eyebrow at Maki, getting a face full of soap suds for it. Elektra giggled as they finished up and got dressed. Hinawa was still at work when they reentered the office.
"When I'm with you girls, I feel like I'm young again." Hibana remarked.
"You're still pretty young." Elektra assured her.
Shinra looked up at them. "When did you get to be such good friends?"
"Oh," Hibana bluntly stated her answer with a straight face. "After we spent some naked bonding time together."
"Nak..." Elektra bit her lip to keep from laughing as Shinra's face twitched into an uncontrollable grin. She knew he couldn't stop it and it wasn't him actually grinning, but it really did make him look creepy when he did that. "Dammit…nake…ed bonding time…really…"
"You think you can be a hero with that villainous face?" Arthur asked.
As this started another fight between the two, Elektra retreated to her desk. She was quite sure that between the two fighting and the chatter between the women, that Hinawa would snap sooner or later. Sure enough, his eyes came up with a snap.
"All of you! If you're going to insist on disrupting the captain's concentration, then get out! How is he supposed to plan anything with all this noise?"
Obi slapping his hands on the desk made Elektra jump, bolts of electricity short-circuiting the lamp near her. "That's it!"
"Yes?" Hinawa asked, confused.
"Shinra! Arthur! Elektra, too! I want you three out of this company!" Obi declared.
Silence fell over the room before Elektra blink, finally finding her voice. "What?"
"Captain…no…you want us to leave Company 8? We're fired?!" Shinra asked in disbelief.
"You're firing them? Isn't that a little much? And Elektra hasn't done anything!" Maki protested.
"Please…have mercy." Iris pleaded.
Elektra had a feeling that they were getting ahead of themselves and that there was more to this. She hadn't known Obi for long, but he didn't seem like the type to be so hasty and mean. There had to be another meaning behind his words that they were all missing. At least, she hoped so.
"Whoa, hold up! Don't be hasty!" Obi told them.
"You're going to use the New Recruit Training Assignment system to sneak them into Company 1?" Hibana asked. "I see. I didn't think of that. Pretty well thought out for a gorilla."
"Oh, so we're going undercover." Elektra exclaimed, relief washing over her.
"The New Recruit Training Assignment system is one of the training systems in the Fire Force bylaws. During their first year on the Force, soldiers can temporarily join a different company, to learn more about how things get done." Obi explained. "And you three will use this to go undercover and investigate Company 1."
"Me, Elektra, and Arthur? In Company 1?" Shinra repeated.
"There might be someone in their jurisdiction…or in their company, manufacturing infernals. I want you to get some clues! This mission will be vital in helping us solve the mystery of spontaneous human combustion! We're counting on you!" Obi told them.
"If there really is someone out there making infernals, they have to pay!" Shinra agreed.
"They may suspect us from the beginning with all three of us being from Company 8." Elektra pointed out. "Especially after the whole thing with Company 5. No matter our cover, they are bound to find it suspicious."
"She has a point. I'll send one of my soldiers, too." Hibana decided.
"Elektra, I understand, but…is it really a good idea to send those two?" Hinawa asked, his eyes on Shinra and Arthur.
Obi paused for a moment before he turned to look at Shinra. "Shinra! Be strong!"
While Arthur snickered, thinking that Obi was only worried about Shinra, Elektra had a feeling it was more along the lines of Obi telling Shinra to be strong while dealing with Arthur's idiocy. Something Elektra could completely understand. While normally harmless, Arthur did have a way of working on people's nerves and that was especially true with Shinra.
"No worries, Captain, Lieutenant. I'll keep an eye on them." Elektra assured them.
Though, if she was honest, she didn't know how she would fair herself. They would find out.
"So, this is the Holy Sol Obelisk Monument."
Elektra peered up at the monument before her, trying to ignore the staring gaze from Toru of Company 5 and a large rookie from Company 2 named Juggernaut. Of course, she stood out. As part of the appearance, they had to wear their official uniforms, but since Elektra was Slade, her official garb was the colorful wrap and gold disks she had been wearing when the first day she had spent with Company 8.
"It's even more titanic than I imagined." Arthur remarked, looking up at the monument.
"Do you think we can climb it?" Shinra asked.
Elektra shook her head. "Best not to try."
Maki grabbed their attention then. "Your bags have been sent on ahead. You can go over there to finish registration."
Elektra heaved a sigh. She was all for trying new things, but it still felt odd being at a company that was full of priests and nuns when she, herself, didn't believe in their religion. She followed Maki, going through the rest of the paperwork involved before they were given a tour. It was along this tour that they ran into a priest with headphones over his ears.
"So, you're the new trainees." The man looked them over before a face at them like he wasn't happy with what he saw. "Ugh. I bet you crap like crap. What's your crap, crap?" Elektra blinked in confusion as he turned to look at Arthur next. "And you. Your ass looks like an ass. Be a good little ass and ass like an ass should, ass!"
Elektra leaned towards Shinra, lowering her voice so only he could hear her. "Are all Sol priests this confounding?"
Shinra shrugged his shoulder. He had no idea what this priest's issue was. As it was, he gestured for them to follow him. "Come with me. Captain Burns is expecting you." He led the way down to the hall to a large pair of double doors. "This is the grand cathedral."
At the head of the room stood an older man with an eyepatch over his right eye. "Welcome to Company 1. We're happy to have you."
Elektra elbowed Shinra when he begun to grin, silently warning him to relax. Shinra joined the others in saluting.
"Company 8 Fire Soldier First Class, Maki Oze! I've brought the new recruits for their training!" Maki announced.
"This may be a formal occasion, but we are in the grand cathedral. I'm sorry to impose, but might I request a gesture of prayer in lieu of a salute?" Burns asked.
"I beg your pardon!" Maki exclaimed, switching to tenting her hands instead of saluting.
When Elektra was the only one who didn't do it, Burns turned his one eye on her. "A problem?"
"You'll have to forgive me, sir. I am a Slade, you see. We don't believe in Sol and, therefore, I don't know your beliefs or the gestures that come with them. I'm afraid this is all I can offer you." Elektra, in the Slade show of respect, placed her right fist sideways to her heart and bowed.
"I had heard that Company 8 had managed to recruit a Nyuhebun Task Force member." Burns said simply before he turned to the priest that had guided them there. Two more priests had joined him, one wearing a hat, the other dark haired. "This is Company 1's Lieutenant Flam," Burns gestured to their guide. "Lieutenant Hoshimiya," This time it was the dark haired priest. "And Lieutenant Li. You will be under their command. For today, you may tour the facility, then make yourselves at home."
"Captain Burns, if I may?" Shinra stepped forward. "Since we will be joining Company 1 on calls for a while…This may be forward of me, but I'd like to show you what we can do. Would you spar with me, Captain?"
Elektra heaved a good natured sigh and shrugged her shoulders in a what-can-you-do fashion. Leave it to Shinra to do things with a bang. Not that she was complaining. The notion actually intrigued her and had her blood already pumping.
"We read your files – we are well aware of your abilities. There's no need for a display." Rekka Hoshimiya told him. A snort of laughter from Elektra drew stares in her direction, but she simply stared off to the side with a smile on her face.
"That's alright. Rekka, help me give them a workout." Burns decided.
Rekka seemed to light up, his voice rising to volumes that Elektra was sure would have left her vocal cords hurting. "What?! Really, sir?"
"Rekka…we're inside the gran cathedral." Huo Yan Li reminded him.
Rekka immediately quieted down. While Juggernaut and Toru were against the idea, Arthur just laughed, and Elektra smiled. A smile that grew when Shinra added, "But…if I land a hit, I want you to answer my question."
"If you insist." Burns agreed.
"Elektra, are you going to go along with this?" Maki asked.
"Why not? It'll be interesting and enlightening. Besides…I've been craving a nice workout for my flames." Elektra replied happily.
With that, they moved to an outdoor training area where they couldn't damage any buildings. Having changed out of their uniforms, Elektra now stood there in just her tube top and shorts with her gloves and stockings in place. She was rather relaxed while Shinra was reeking of hostile intent.
"Why is he so hostile, I wonder…" Huo Yan mused.
"I guess he's just so excited to be in Company 1, he can't contain himself." Maki covered.
"I like your spirit, soldier!" Rekka declared. "Now I'm really getting fired up!"
"I guess Rekka can't contain himself, either." Huo Yan remarked.
"Why should they?" Huo Yan turned to Elektra as she spoke. "Sparring is supposed to be a chance to evaluate your limits, right? What's the point of containing yourself then?"
"I suppose you have a point." Huo Yan admitted.
"Who will be going first?" Arthur asked.
"We'll go in numerical order. And there's no need to hold back – you may use your powers freely. Show me everything you've got." Burns replied.
Juggernaut freaked out when that meant he'd be first. "Which means…Oh, no! I'm first!'
"What is inside that coat that you end up looking like that?" Shinra asked, looking up at the tall boy.
"What?! Why? Is that important right now?!" Juggernaut demanded.
Elektra gave his back a pat and pushed him forward. Rekka met him. "I'm Lieutenant Hoshimiya. You'll be up against me!"
"I'm Takeru Noto. Second Class Fire Soldier from Company 2. I grew up on a potato farm, so people called me Jaga Noto, and it turned into Juggernaut."
"I see! Juggernaut! Let's heat things up!" Rekka declared.
At the sight of Rekka's fire around his fists, Juggernaut lost it. His own flames burst forth from his fingertips in response, the poor guy yelling for someone to put it out. Elektra tilted her head in interest as Juggernaut's flames formed missiles all aimed at Rekka. The more Juggernaut got worked up, the bigger they grew. Huo Yan ushered them behind Karim who now had a bell in hand.
And then Juggernaut's missiles went off. Rekka expertly dodged all of them, wiping his brow as they flew past him to Karim. Karim's brow twitched in annoyance. "Don't doge all of them! What is this easy going easy going?! Piece of easy going!"
"I know you got my back, Karim!" Rekka replied with a wink.
Karim clicked his tongue in exasperation as he pulled out some kind of instrument that looked similar to a tuba. He gave the bell a ring, the flame missiles dispersing. With another ring of the bell, frigid air burst forth from the end of the instrument in his other hand. A large ice spike formed in midair…a spike he sent flying at Rekka.
"Rekka! If I hadn't stopped you, you wouldn't hit the captain!" Karim yelled.
"Like I said, Karim, I believe in you!" Rekka replied, dodging the ice as easily as he had the missiles.
"Company 1 has a soldier that conjures ice instead of fire?!" Arthur asked.
Karim glanced back at him. "What are you talking about? Don't be stupid. I'm a Second Generation. You think people can conjure ice? They started out as flames like that guy's flame, right? I just used those flames, that's all."
"Used them? How?" Shinra asked, clueless.
"Come on, don't tell me you haven't heard of it." Karim sighed.
"Oh!" Elektra snapped her fingers. "Thermoacoustic cooling!"
"Thermoacoustic cooling? No…I haven't heard of it." Maki said confused.
"It's like my thermoelectric powers. It's a change in the flames' shape. Granted, his is more complicated than mine and I produce my own flames where he doesn't." Elektra explained. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but you turn heat energy into sound and then sound into cold, right?"
"Simply put, yeah." Karim confirmed. "When you compress heat, you can turn it into sound. The sound rubs against the air and becomes cold."
"So, you can change the fire energy into sound or cold?" Shinra asked, still not quite getting it.
"When heat changes to sound, and then reconverts into thermal energy, the temperature goes down. You just have to do that over and over. So, I push the flames through this pipe gun that looks like a coiled brass instrument, and my powers cool them instantly into ice." Karim further explained.
Maki was amazed. "You can do that?"
"But I do it with my powers. You know refrigerators and air conditioners turn heat into cold, too, right? They just work on a different principle." Karim answered.
The while thing went right over Arthur and Shinra's heads. It just made Shinra suspicious of them all. It made Elektra realize that their task was going to be hard to accomplish. Especially if the culprit was one of Company 1's upper members. If this was what Karim could do, if made her wonder what the extent of the others' abilities were.
"Alright, next." Burns called.
"I don't engage in pointless battles, so you'll have to excuse me." Huo Yan remarked with a smile.
"That's an admirable quality." Elektra praised with a nod. "Choose your battles, raise your wounds, pick your scars…or so I was taught."
Huo Yan gave her a smile. Toru, who was to be next in the line-up, also chose to skip the battle, claiming he had no secrets not in his file and didn't need to fight.
"In that case, we come to you three from Company 8." Burns turned to look at Elektra, Shinra and Arthur.
"If I may, Captain," Burns's eye shifted to Elektra. "I would like to fight my own, individual fight. If possible."
Burns stared at her for a moment before Rekka stepped forward. "I'll fight her, Captain!"
"Alright then." Burns agreed.
Elektra and Rekka moved to face each other. Elektra was already bouncing from one foot to the other. Rekka grinned at the sight of her. "Let's heat this up! No holding back."
"Agreed." Elektra's eyes narrowed with mirth as she balled up one fist at her right hip, the other held loosely before her. "Just a warning…my file only contains one ability I possess. That's nowhere near being all it."
Rekka's eyes widened when she was suddenly moving, already inside his guard by the time his eyes refocused on her. He had read about her speed in her file, but it still took him a bit by surprise just how fast she actually was. Elektra hated to break it to him, but she could be faster if she wanted. Despite her speed, Rekka still blocked her kick, sparks of lightning mixing with his fire. The impact was enough to make both slide back a bit.
"That's quite the kick you've got!" Rekka praised.
"Well, thank you, Lieutenant. Please don't be quick to forfeit like all my past opponents."
Both were moving then, exchanging blows in explosions of red flames and blue sparks. When Rekka aimed a punch for her face, Elektra let herself fall back, twisting to plant hands on the ground and flip away. She ended up balanced on one hand, legs spread just enough to balance herself. Elektra bent her elbow, displaying her upper body strength as she then pushed off the ground, tapping her hand and twisting to send herself flying into the air just as Rekka attacked again. Arching her back, she sailed safely over his fist and flames to land just behind him on her feet.
Her body never stopped moving, one foot snapping back towards him, Rekka turning to block a kick that would have collided painfully with his ribs. The moment her foot met his arm, Elektra hopped on her foot, twisting to avoid the counterattack aimed for her left. She was sure he had seen her scars and had presumed that her left was a blind spot or a weak spot he could exploit. He would find out differently. More sparks flew as she danced away from him.
"She's fast." Huo Yan remarked. "And agile."
"It's her electrobatics." Maki explained. "She mixes her ignition ability with her natural flexibility and the combative skills she was taught in Nyuhebun."
"What did she mean that her file doesn't cover everything?" Huo Yan asked.
"I don't know. I haven't seen anything outside of what's in her file." Maki replied with a shake of her head.
Another explosion had them turning their attention back to the fight as Elektra and Rekka slid apart once more. Rekka beamed as he addressed Elektra. "Amazing! You're doing great! Now how me something new!"
"Something new, huh?" A grin spread across Elektra's face. "Alright…I'll show you another of my ignition abilities."
"Wait…another?" Karim asked.
"I told you…my file doesn't cover everything. Watch closely…this one's called Mock Infernal."
Surprise overtook them all as flames seemed to explode from the scars along the left side of her body. Her skin along that side of her body turned black, her hair breaking loose of its tie and bursting into flames like it was made of them. A whip cord tail of condensed flames, much like that of Excalibur, sprouted from her tailbone as her left eye appeared to turn into a black hole from which shined a single orb of green in the center. Her hand and foot even resembled claws, the tips turning razor sharp. It looked like she had started to turn infernal, but the change had ended halfway, flames flickering white hot off her body.
"What the…!"
"You shouldn't gawk. I'm coming."
It was the only warning Rekka got before she vanished from in front of him. In the next breath, Elektra hit him hard with a blow that sent Rekka sliding back several feet. As fast as she had been before, her speed all but tripled. Rekka regained his balance and attacked, but with a flick of her tail on the ground, the limb leaving behind a gash in the concrete, Elektra was rocketed into the air, out of the way of his punch.
A twist mid-air and Elektra's left foot came down hard towards him. Rekka barely caught the kick, wincing under the weight of her force. It was like being hit by a truck. Her power, it seemed, had increased as well. A grin grew across Rekka's face, the man happy to find a challenge in a rookie.
Elektra went flying as Rekka shoved her back, but she appeared unconcerned. Her tail whipped out, turning her mid-air so she landed on her feet as if she was a cat. Her knees bent, the tail coiling behind her, the young woman launching back into the fight when the tail suddenly snapped like a string coiled too tight. Rekka was actually knocked off his feet as she barreled into him. She looked like she was having fun, a wide smile on her face as she wound herself around Rekka so that she could drive her feet into this back and send him shooting away from her. She hit the ground rolling and popped back to her feet, fluffing out her hair flames, the flames burning blue for a fleeting moment as she stoked them.
That done, she gave herself a full body shake and was darting back into the fight. The two clashed again, Rekka finally seeming to catch onto the quick timing of her attacks. Even with that, though, it was hard to predict how the girl would twist and turn her body or what limb she would attack with. Then there was her tail which seemed to have a mind of its own, attacking whenever it perceived that Elektra was in danger. The two slid apart once more, Elektra crouching, readying herself to jump back at him, but Burns stepped between them. "That's enough."
Elektra eased back on her heels before rising to stand while Rekka complained. "Why, Captain?"
Burns turned towards Elektra as she carded her left hand through the ball of flames at the tip of her tail. "You're still sentient?"
"I might look like an infernal, Captain, but I assure you…I'm not one." The flames on her left side vanished, her appearance returning to normal, her hair left unbound around her in a curtain of white. "It is merely the shape of one of my ignition abilities. I can change and revert at will and I never lose my sense of self when I change."
It was a strange ability, especially with how it all sprung from the scars on her body. Burns was sure there was more to it than that, but Elektra didn't seem inclined to elaborate. He merely deemed the fight at an end. Retreating back to the other, Elektra requested a spare hair tie from Maki. Still stunned by what she had just seen, Maki presented her with one. Elektra took it gratefully, pulling her hair back up.
With that, Burns turned to Shinra and Arthur. "You Company 8 boys will be fighting me. Come on then."
Arthur took the lead charge, attacking Burns. Burns didn't try to dodge, just stopped the blade with his bare hand. With a shove, Burns sent Arthur flying back. Shinra jumped in then, his blow managing to shake the ground, but did nothing to Burns. Each blow was expertly blocked by Burns.
"Why did you become a Fire Solider?" Burns asked.
"My mother and brother died in a fire! I joined the Force to solve the mystery of SHC and make sure a fire like that never happens again! To become a hero and save the world from the fear of the flames!" Shinra replied.
"You still have a long way to go." Elektra winced when the next hit sent Shinra flying. "Now, I've seen what you can do. I welcome you all into Company 1. I hope you make the most of this training assignment."
With that, they were dismissed and placed under the command of Karim. They were then shown to the rooms they would dwell in during their stay. Once settled, they were allowed to have the rest of the day to themselves.
"I think I'll take a bath. I worked up quite the sweat." Elektra remarked, turning to head for her room.
"Elektra," Elektra turned to look at Shinra when he called out to her. "What was that? That new ability?"
"It's not really new. That was actually the first ability I ever awoke to." Elektra told him. "Look, I told you that my parents died when they both went infernal on the same night, right?"
"Yeah."
"Well…" Elektra's gaze become distant for a moment, as if she was lost to her memories. "The details are still fuzzy for me, but I remember the heat, the pain, and the entire world seemed to be on fire. I think…I think I started to go infernal, too, but it stopped for some reason. I would have thought the whole thing a horrible nightmare until I woke up to find the very parts of my body, I swore burst into flames now scarred by those flames."
"What?!" Neither Shinra nor Arthur could believe their ears.
"It sounds crazy, I know, but I've been able to take that form ever since. I've been able to feel when someone nearby goes infernal. I'm not sure what happened, only that I'm still here and fighting to help as I can." Elektra gave them a smile. "I felt the flames that burn those who turn infernal, and I don't wish that on anyone. Now, if that's all, I'm going to go bathe."
Elektra left them with that bombshell and a wave. Shinra really didn't know what to think of Elektra. Just when they thought they had figured her out, she threw them for another loop.
If only they knew that she still had plenty of secrets left to share.
End
Kyandi: You have way too much fun with that form.
Elektra: It's kind of hard not to. I mean…I get to bounce off the walls like a loon.
Kyandi: Yeah…I see your point.
Elektra: Which is why you gave me the ability…because you want to bounce off the wall like a loon.
Kyandi: I…am not going to deny that.
Elektra: I didn't think you would.
Kyandi: Anyway, we'll call it here. Everyone, enjoy and review.
Elektra: We'll probably be back tomorrow or the day after.
Kyandi: Bye-bye!
