The cave where the Red Lotus held Korra as captive, chained and suspended in the middle of the cave with Zaheer and company standing in front of her on a viewing platform. Korra tries to break free of her chains.
"Release us, or I will destroy you all!" Vaatu's imprint said.
"You can't leave Korra's body with Meldora's enchanted chains on her." Azula said.
"You are nothing but vile monsters!" raava's imprint roard.
"When I get out of here, none of you will survive!" Korra yelled.
"You won't get out, unless the Metal Clan has taught you a way to bend platinum. Once we administer this poison, your body will naturally react, forcing you into the Avatar State in an effort to keep you alive. Sadly for you, you'll be entering it for the last time."
"No! The Avatar Cycle will end." Korra said fearfully.
"Yes. When we dispatch you in the Avatar State, the cycle will end." Zaheer said.
"That's it? A poison?" Azula asked before she laughs mockingly. She throws the poison away.
"Azula, what are you doing?" Zaheer asked in disbelief.
"If the Avatar of the Balance is dead, how could Meldora find a beacon?"
"What beacon?" Zaheer asked.
"A beacon for Meldora's armada." Ghazan replied. "Azula told us everything."
"Meldora's planning an invasion?" Zaheer was shocked. "But, I thought she…"
"She wanted you to think she's on your side." Azula said. "Now, you served your purpose."
Ghazan earthbends Zaheer around him, leaving him trapped.
"Ghazan? Ming-Hua? Not you, too?"
"Sorry, Zaheer. But Azula said that we should be rewarded." Ming-Hua said coldly.
Azula's robot hand morphed into a blade and killed Zaheer.
Unknown to them, Jinora's astral projection was eavesdropping on the conversation.
Jinora returns to her body, which was left behind with the other airbenders who were all chained to the floor of a cave.
"Did you find any way to escape?" Opal asked
"No. Not yet. But don't worry, we'll find a way out soon." Jinora said.
"They might not make it that long." Daw said.
Bumi and Kya were shown lying unconscious.
"Korra will come and save us, right?" Ikki asked.
"I think we're gonna have to do this on our own and save her." Jinora said.
The group turns back to see two Red Lotus guards securing the entrance.
Meanwhile, at the cave.
"It's time." Azula said.
"So Zaheer and the Earth Queen were just pawns." Raava's imprint said.
"Meldora's plan is to invade the planet." Vaatu's imprint said.
"But, what does that have to do with us?" Korra asked.
"With the Dark and Light beam from you, her armies will arrive on Earth and conquer it." Azula answered evilly. "With Meldora's enchanted bracelet, you'll reach the Avatar State and make her beacon."
Azula stretches her robot arms and places the bracelet on her arm. She chants a spell.
"Vakalos, nifovas, Kavaxus, mimvas."
Throughout the administration, Korra screams in agony and her eyes begin to glow momentarily.
"Get ready. As soon as she's in the Avatar State, the time has come."
Meanwhile, Lefty and Oogi were flying across the mountain range.
"The place where I saw them taking the airbenders is around here." Kai said.
"That's got to be where they took Korra." Mako said.
"Then we have to save her before they'll use her Avatar beam as a beacon to the Witchvanian armada." Dallas said.
"Wait until they see the Dragon Wand." Phil said.
"Again with your stupid wand. You just haven't changed since we were kids." Dallas said
"You're just jealous because you have the knowledge of science and I have the knowledge of sorcery." Phil snapped.
"Fellas, focus." Tenzin said.
Kai notices a cave with five Air Nomads carved on the wall. "That's it. Down there, Lefty."
The team lands in front of the cave and dismount, Tonraq and Bolin were supporting Tenzin.
"Find the airbenders, and my family." Tenzin said.
"Don't worry. I'm not coming out without our children and the rest of your people." Suyin said.
The team enters the cave while Tenzin looks on. Dallas and Phil looks at each other.
"Come on, you know what to do." Dallas said.
"Oh, for God's sake, Dallas." Phil bends down to his knees and Dallas step on his back, attempting to climb on Oogi to get his laser. "That's Versace you steppin' on."
"Versace? You can't even spell." Dallas said.
"Oh, yeah. 'Fo-satchy'. F-O… uh… satchy."
At the hideout where Korra failed to resist the magic of the bracelet.
"It's working." Azula said in triumph.
Korra enters the Ultimate Avatar State and orange-red and white beams shots from her eyes and mouth, and straight to space.
Outside the hideout, the castle/mothership arrived. Inside the hideout, Meldora and Magina emerges from a portal.
"There you are, Azula." she said. "I thought you'd never captured her." Meldora looks at Korra.
"As you asked, the beacon has been set. And once the armada arrives, we can rule the planet." Azula said with a wicked smile.
"I'm sorry, 'we'?" Meldora asked evilly before she turns to Azula. "We will rule?! Ha-ha!"
"We were a team." Azula said.
"Oh, 'we were a team.' Teams are for the weak! Family is for the scared! The earth is my toy! And I do not like to share!"
"YOU BETRAYED ME!" Azula roared.
"Actually, I barely even thought about you." Meldora said before Azula gets really angry.
"YOU ALIEN SCUM!" Azula attamed to firebend on Medlora, but she waved her wand and freezes her on ice again. Ghazan and Ming-Hua bows to Meldora.
"You two have done your work. How would you like to be lieutenants and generals of my army?" Meldora asked.
"It is an honour, my Witch." Ghazan said. "We are your loyal servents." Ming-Hua said.
Meldora looks at the frozen Azula. "Back in the toy chest with the rest of the things I have broken, silly little earthling!" she said.
Ten witches uses their wands to lift the frozen Azula, they entered the portal to the castle and places Azula in a frozen cell full of frozen alien species.
"Now for a new game! Look out, Earth, it's PLAYTIME!" Meldora laughs to evil than Azula.
Later, at the Air Nomad caves where the airbenders were detained. Jinora nods to her sister.
"I'm thirsty!" Ikki said. "I gotta go pee." Meelo said.
"Me, too." Daw said.
"Keep it down over there, or you're all gonna end up like them." a Witchvanian guard said.
"Miss, please. We just ask some water. There are children, and a baby here." Pema begged.
"Fine, give 'em some water."
The Red Lotus sentry brings the water to the airbenders. Jinora airbends at the sentry, covering his face with his robes, which causes the keys to fall off.
Meelo airbends, throwing the keys to Opal, who catches and hides it out of view.
"Oh, so you just called me over to attack me? Fine! Now nobody gets any water." the sentry said before he rinks from the skin and walks out. I don't know how we ended up in daycare while everyone else gets to watch the Avatar being destroyed when the armada comes here on Earth. I can hold a bowl of poison!"
Opal takes the keys and unlocks her cuffs.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" the second Red Lotus sentry demanded.
Before the sentry and the two Witchvanians can act, they were knocked out cold by a rock. The attackers were Team Avatar. The other sentry bends two rocks at the team, who were protected by Suyin's bent wall.
When the attack stops, Asami leaps over the wall and stuns the sentry.
"Chaaaaarrrge!" Phil shouts before he trips on a rock. He stands back up.
Dallas was annoyed. "Will you be quit, Tarzan?"
"I'm too old for this, Dallas." Phil said. "Give me a break."
"Mom!" Opal said.
Suyin hugs her daughter. "Oh, honey, I'm so glad you're safe."
"Me, too." Bolin said before he hugs Opal while Suyin glares at him.
Asami proceeds to free the remaining airbenders. Lin supports Bumi, while Kya was supported by two other airbenders.
After Asami frees Jinora, she walks off, Kai was standing behind her.
Jinora ran toward Kai, relieved. "You're alive!" She hugs Kai. "I can't believe it."
"Why? Just because I was blown out of the sky, and fell hundreds of feet down a cliff? Don't you know it takes more than that to get rid of me?" Kai asked while Jinora nudges him on the shoulder.
She kissed him on the lips.
"We have to get these two out of here now. They don't look so good." Lin said.
"What are you talking about? I feel great!" Bumi slumps down, coughing weakly.
"You guys get everyone out of here. I'll search for Korra." Tonraq said.
"We're going with you." Mako said.
"You don't have to search for her. I know exactly where she's being held." Jinora said.
Back at the cave where Korra was still on the state, creating a dome of air around her.
"Just in a few hours, my army will come, and this planet shall be mine." Meldora said.
"Korra, we can fight the bracelet's magic." Vaatu said in Korra's head.
"We will never let Meldora win." Raava said in her head as well.
The beams stopped was as Korra was attending to escape.
"What? NO! STOP HER!" Meldora ordered.
Ming-Hua sends an ice shard to Korra, who destroys it by breathing fire. Korra struggles and pulls off the chain on her right arm, swinging it toward Meldora, followed by Ming-Hua. Magina runs through the portal.
Meldora dodged the attack with a force field, but Ming-Hua was caught off-guard and slammed against a wall, losing her water appendages in the meantime.
Ghazan erupts lava toward Korra, who swings the chain around her arm before directing the lava flow with airbending back to Ghazan, causing him to retreat to avoid the lava.
Korra rips off the chains on her legs and airbends herself away before propelling herself with firebending to rip off the final chain. The bracelet was destroyed.
"NO! I'll make you pay for that!" Meldora determined.
Korra lands in front of Meldora and bends four boulders and circle them around her before airbending to push the boulder away. The Supreme Witch and the Red Lotus retreats to avoid the attacks.
Korra breathes fire in fury while Tonraq, Mako and Bolin enter the cave.
"Korra!" Tonraq shouts.
Korra breathes fires toward Meldora, who dodges the attacks and flies out through the open roof on her broomstick. Korra propels fire from her feet and gives chase.
"Look out!" Bolin blocks Ghazan's attacks.
"You help Korra, we got this." Mako said before Tonraq runs.
Meldora flies out of the cave with Korra giving chase. Korra sends two boulders toward Meldora.
Meldora dodges the attacks, but was pushed off by Korra. Meldora grabs Korra and tosses her away, slamming her against a column, while Tenzin witnesses the fight.
Korra slides down the column and charges toward Meldora, who follows suit. Korra leaps across columns to regain her ground and circles a pillar, breaking it in the meantime and sending it to Meldora, who dodges the attack.
Meanwhile, on the surface.
"Daddy!" Ikki shouts.
"Oh, thank goodness you're all right." Tenzin said before he hugs his children.
"Honey, are you okay?" Pema asked.
"I'll be fine."
The airbenders walk out of the cave, placing Kya and Bumi onto the ground. Tonraq runs out of the cave.
"We have to help Korra."
The whole group looks at the fight, with Korra slamming two pillars toward Meldora, who dodges the attack. Korra sends three rocks at Meldora and charges toward him.
At the caves where Mako firebends to Ming-Hua, who dodges the attacks and swings out of view. Mako chases her while his brother engages Ghazan.
Bolin sends two rocks at Ghazan, who blocks the attack before using his wall against Bolin. Bolin smashes the attack, but Ghazan hides behind the wall and catches him.
Bolin regains his ground and throws Ghazan away, who retaliates with two rocks. Bolin dodges the attacks, and smashes a rock.
"What are you smiling about?" Bolin asked.
"I was just remembering the last time we fought." Ghazan said before he directs lava to Bolin.
Bolin stops the lava flow. "Well, a lot has changed since then."
Bolin directs the lava back to Ghazan, who dodges the attacks. Bolin winks smugly.
"So that's how you got out of the temple. Not bad. Let's see what you got!"
Ghazan sends multiple lava sprays toward Bolin.
Outside the cave, Meldora dodges bent rocks before flying away. Korra bends more rocks at Meldora and manages to catch up.
Korra flies toward the arch, before propelling herself up with earthbending. She attacks Meldora with multiple fire blasts, while Meldora waves her wand and retaliates with magical blasts, landing a hit and throwing her onto the floor.
Meldora zooms past Korra, tossing her off the edge. Korra regains her ground and bends a large boulder toward Meldora, slamming it against a mountain.
Meldora narrowly manages to avoid the attack and flies back to Korra. Korra lands atop a pool of water and directs whips toward Meldora.
Meldora manages to dodge all the attacks, but was struck on the right leg. Korra freezes the water, causing him to lose altitude. Korra charges toward Meldora, but she manages to smash the ice on his leg and flies back to Korra, who attempts to breathe fire, but was stopped by Meldora's magic.
"Enough! I'll shoot your beam right to my galaxy, if it kills you!" she said.
On the ground surface.
"I can fly up on my bison to help her." Kai said.
"You'd never be able to keep up with Meldora. She's too powerful." Diogenes said.
"We have to do something!" Kai determined.
"There haven't been this many airbenders in one place for a long time either. We have power together." Jinora said. "Hurry, everyone form a circle! Follow me."
The airbenders follow Jinora and get into a circle. Jinora stands in the center and creates a small vortex that increases in size, while the airbenders create air gusts to the vortex, causing it to increase in size.
Meanwhile, back in the cave where Mako chases Ming-Hua, breaking off her water appendages. Ming-Hua trips and loses her appendages.
"You have no water. It's over." Mako said.
"Hmm… Not yet."
Ming-Hua jumps into a hole, avoiding Mako's fire blast. Mako follows into the hole, landing in a lake of water.
He lights his wrist, turning to see Ming-Hua behind with eight large water appendages.
"Now it's over!"
Ming-Hua directs multiple water blasts at Mako, forcing the firebender to retreat. Mako stops for a while before leaping onto a stalagmite and shooting lighting at the water, electrocuting Ming-Hua. Mako was looking in shock.
Bolin blocks Ghazan's lavabending with an earth wall before directing a lava flow to Ghazan. Ghazan leaps forward and lavabends, turning the wall behind Bolin into lava and directing it toward Bolin.
Bolin retreats and leaps down, solidifying the lava. Ghazan intercepts Bolin and prepares to attack, but was stopped by Mako. Mako flies toward Ghazan, who tries to block Mako, but was knocked off by Mako's fire kick.
Ghazan tries to regain his ground, but is constantly knocked back by the brothers.
"Give up, Ghazan! You can't win." Bolin said
"Well, I'm not going back to prison. If I'm going down today, you're coming with me!"
Ghazan punches the floor, causing rocks to fall down. He melts the walls around him and directs it downward.
"Mako, hang on!" Bolin shouts.
Bolin creates a platform and the two brothers ride out of the cave, where they watch the cave collapse. Both brothers run out of the cave.
Outside the cave, Meldora zooms past her multiple times to fully knocks Korra out.
"You can't beat me. I am Meldora, Supreme Witch of the planet Witchvainya, queen of the galaxy of Nebula. Ruler of all planets I have conquered!"
Medlora starts to suffocate Korra, when she feels a gust of wind. She turns to see a large vortex approaching her.
On the surface where Mako and Bolin exits the cave, shielding themselves from the gust, where they see the airbenders at work.
Korra tumbles over. Meldora flies out to grab Korra and tries to fly away, but was slowly being sucked in by the vortex.
After multiple failed attempts to escape the vortex, she drops Korra and flies off, only to be caught by Korra who flails the chain and manages to catch her by the ankle.
Korra drops down and flings Meldora and throws her to her castle. The airbenders stop creating the vortex, while Korra and collapses.
Jinora runs up to Korra, while the other airbenders look on with worry. Tonraq, Mako, Bolin and Asami runs up to Korra.
"Korra. Sweetheart. It's me, Dad. Please hang on." Tonraq said.
Korra reaches out to her father, awaken, causing tears to well up on Tonraq's eyes.
"Dad. You're alive." Korra said.
"I'm here for you." Tonraq hugs his daughter. "I'm never gonna let you go."
At the mothership castle, Meldora was lying there in her damaged table. Magina approaches to her.
"We have to retreat, Your Highness." she said.
Meldora stands up, pushes Magina out of her way, and runs to the balcony. "I'll be back, Avatar Korra! A thousand time stronger!"
The castle shoots out from Earth to space to Witchvainya, Nebula.
At Air Temple Island. In the interior, where Asami takes a hairpin from her lips and inserts it into Korra's bunned hair.
"There you go. All fixed up for a formal Avatar appearance." Asami said before she passes Korra a mirror. "Take a look."
"It's great. Thanks." Korra said.
"You look dashing." Vaatu's imprint said. "I wish I was human, I'd love to wear that dress." Raava's imprint said.
"You know, nobody expects me to bounce back right away. I'm just gonna need time to heal. Let's enjoy this today; for Jinora." Korra said.
"You're right. Let's go." Asami said.
At the Air Temple, where airbenders were entering a building up a flight of stairs. Korra and Asami walks in front of a crowd, and Lord Zuko bows to her.
Korra nods back. Her mother runs forward to hug her.
"You look beautiful, sweetie." Tonras said before kisses Korra on the forehead.
"You're looking stronger everyday, Korra." Tenzin said.
"I'd like to officially welcome you back to Republic City. The people wants to thank you for taking down those Red Lotus terrorists and the alien witches." Sheng said.
"Thanks, Sheng." Korra said.
"We should go inside." Raava's imprint said. "We don't wanna miss Jinora's big day." Vaatu's imprint said.
"Jinora's already inside." Asami said.
The group walks up the stairs.
"Uh, guys, with the Earth Kingdom in complete disarray since the loss of the Queen..."
"Yes, President Ichiro. And even with Zaheer killed, we still don't know how many Red Lotus members might be out there, hiding. And Ghazan and Ming-Hua disappeared." Zuko said.
"Exactly. But, will Meldora be back?" Phil wondered.
At the ceremonial hall where incense sticks were burning. Air Acolytes and many guests were seated, witnessing the ceremony, while airbenders stand on the stage. Jinora was in the middle, wearing a hood.
"Jinora, come forward." Tenzin said before Jinora bows and walks forward before kneeling.
"Today, we welcome the first airbending master in a generation. And I couldn't be more proud of my daughter." Jinora looks up and smiles.
"When the existence of our people was threatened, when the Avatar's life hung in the balance, Jinora never gave up hope. Thanks to her leadership, I see a very bright future for the Air Nation. Of course, there would be no Air Nation without Avatar Korra: She opened the portals and somehow the world began anew for us. And she was even willing to lay down her own life in order to protect ours. There's no way we can ever repay her for all she's done. But we can follow her example of service and sacrifice. So while she recuperates, the Air Nation will reclaim its nomadic roots and roam the earth. But unlike our ancestors, we will serve people of all nations, working wherever there is corruption and discord to restore balance and peace. Avatar Korra, I vow that we will do everything in our power to follow in your footsteps and bring harmony to the world."
Tenzin bows to Korra, who bows back.
"Now, let us anoint the master who will help lead us in our new path."
Tenzin removes Jinora's hood, revealing her tattoos. Jinora removes the coat and stands up. The airbenders bend the smoke from the burning incense sticks, sounding the wind chimes around the hall. Jinora hugs her father. The audience claps.
After the ceremony, Korra stares at the sky. Mako approaches to Korra.
"Hey, Korra." he said.
"Hey, Mako." Korra said.
"I-I can't let our breakup getting in the way of our relationships. I love you more than anyone."
"I know. Vaatu's right. I'm so sorry for giving you a hard time." Korra said. "I guess we're back together."
"On one condition." Mako said.
"What?" Korra asked.
Mako bends down to his knee and picks up a ring box. He opens the box, revealing a diamond ring.
"Avatar Korra, will you marry me?"
Korra was surprised and happy. "Are you serious?! I will."
She kisses Mako before the two Avatar Spirits emerges from Korra's body and flies to the group.
"Ring the bells!" Raava said "Korra and Mako are getting married!" Vaatu said.
Everyone cheered after hearing what Raava and Vaatu said.
Three weeks later, Korra and Mako were standing at the alter, with Sheng pronouncing the marriage.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may know kiss the bride."
Korra and Mako kisses, everyone cheered and clapped as the couple were now married. The married couple walks out of the church. Kora throws the bouquet, Bolin caught it.
Korra and Mako entered the limo and drives away to the party.
The party was full of Mako and Korra's family and friends. The couple were dancing.
"No more breakups." Korra said. "And no more sides." Mako said.
They kiss again. Vaatu and Raava were flying above.
"Now, are you happy they're back together, Vaatu?"
"Yes. Yes, I am." Vaatu said.
The two spirits stares at the full moon.
