Prologue: In the Beginning..
In the beginning there was nothing. Then the One said "Let there be light." And there was light. And from the light spread Life. Planets, stars, solar systems, all swirling and twirling through the unending. And the One saw that it was good.
But the One grew restless. He saw what He could accomplish, but was not content. He wondered, contemplating endless possibilities. So He moved aside the First and said, "Let there be more." And more came, similar to the First, yet unique.
The One was pleased. But He still was not content. So He moved aside the Next, and spoke into the void yet again. Life grew forth, similar to the Next, but different, and far more unique than the First.
Again and again the One did this, birthing Life after Life. With each new Life His rapture grew, as did His restlessness. A thousand times a thousand Lives He spawned, each similar to the previous, yet unique....
...Until one day the One stepped back to see the fruits of His labor. And what he saw gave Him pause. The First was good, was pure. The First was as He had designed it. The Next, too, was also good, though not as perfect as the First. But the further down He looked the more flawed His Lives grew until came to His last Life. He stood in horror at what He saw. The First had been created good. The Last...had not.
The One wept in sorrow at the sight of the Last. Quickly His sorrow turned to rage. Though He loved the Lives He created, He could not accept the Last. He could not accept any of them.
He sought to wipe away the All, to return it to the emptiness it had once been. To undo that which He had done. The One opened His arms wide, extending the tips of His fingers to the First and the Last, embracing the All. Bringing His arms inward all Life came together. What had been many was once again single.
The One stood back, and wondered if it was good....
