It was after midnight when Ginny decided to finally go to bed. She was
usually the last Gryffindor to leave the common room at night. The
fourteen-year-old, red haired girl often feared that she'd have nightmares.
Even when they were at their worst, she NEVER told anyone. Then
eventually the nightmares faded and she went back to her usual life. And
now they were here again, dreams of Tom Riddle. Oh how could anyone forget
him? Of the Basilisk of everything that Ginny hated the most. The
mistakes she had made. Up until about one month ago, Ginny had cut off all
thought of the diary.of everything. Tom Riddle was now the only thing that
had been on the poor girl's mind for weeks. It gave Ginny a nasty feeling
in the pit her stomach. She sighed and headed towards the stairs of the
girls' dormitory. She was about to step onto the staircase when she heard
movement behind her. He toe missed the stair and she fell flat on her
face. The person was laughing at her. Though quietly, he or she was not
trying to cover it up. Ginny didn't dare look to see who it was. A
clammy, bony hand clenched her shoulder and hoisted the girl onto her feet.
Ginny tried to scream, but she had lost her voice. Nothing would come out.
Tom Riddle smiled down at her. "My how you've grown." He stroked her cheek with his cold hand and it gave her Goosebumps. "I never expected such a cheeky little girl to turn out so beautifully." He began to walk around her.examining her. Ginny didn't dare move. They both knew that Tom had an inexplicable control over her. For some reason Ginny's blood ran cold at he mere thought of him. Tom put one hand on her neck and the other around her waist. He held Ginny so close that she began to tremble. He was still wearing that mischievous smile as he leaned in closer. Their noses were touching and Ginny could feel his breath on his face and then: "Ginny?" She tore away from Tom's grasp and whirled around. Fred was standing at the top of the stairs, puffy-eyed and sleepy. "What are you still doing awake? It's two-thirty in the morning." He yawned and squinted down at her. "Well you see, what it is.um.don't worry I can explain." She motioned to Tom behind her. "We were just-" Fred cut her off. "We? Who else is down there?" His eyes were scanning the room. Ginny looked around the common room, too. Tom Riddle was nowhere to be found. "N-n-no one." She gave a pitifully fake smile, "Jus me down here, all alone. No one else but me." Fred glared suspiciously at his little sister. After about three minutes of silence, Fred came to a conclusion: "Go do bed!" He turned on his heel and marched back into his dorm. Ginny's heart was pounding. She began to follow her brother's orders when someone grabbed her waist from behind. As you could've guessed, it was Tom. Ginny was almost in tears from fright, "W-w-why are you here?" She stammered. He smirked and held her close once more. "Pity, I thought you would've been excited to see me." He leaned in and kissed her roughly. "No bother, my dear, this is only the beginning."
