This story takes place right after the story The Black Unicorn in the
Kingdom of Landover series. Don't know exactly where it's going yet but
please R&R.
A magnificent white creature raced through the trees, the moonlight reflecting of its soft hide, making it look like it glowed. It slowed to a fast canter and broke into a clearing.

A girl stood in a clearing in the middle of a forest. She stared at the moon. She came here often at night, to wish on the stars. She stood there now in a long, flowing black skirt and a green top reminiscent of the renaissance, with long flowing sleeves and velvet accents. She turned as a she heard the pounding of hooves come from the forest. A white horse burst into the clearing. She gasped. Not a horse, a unicorn. She reached out as it flew past her. Her fingertips brushed the soft hide.
"Wait, " she suddenly cried out. The cry was a plea. "Please, " it was practically a whisper. To her surprise, the unicorn did stop. Tears came to her eyes, such a magnificent creature. The girl didn't move a muscle. "Please, take me with you." She didn't know where the unicorn was from or where it was going. She just wanted to be free of this world where dragons were a myth and true magic was folly.
The unicorn walked slowly towards her and stood before her. She reached out and touched it again. She stroked its neck and then wrapped her arms around it. "Thank you," she whispered as she shouldered a black, cloth bag and slipped onto the unicorns back.
Before she knew it, she was racing past the trees in the forest. It felt like they were flying. They were going so fast, and the unicorn was still speeding up. She shut her eyes against the wind. They were now going so fast she could barely hang on. She wrapped her arms around the unicorn's neck tightly as it raced along. She opened her eyes to see where they were. Her eyes widened in fear as she saw the cliff they were flying towards. Then, suddenly, it jumped. She closed her eyes and buried her face into the unicorn's mane, waiting for the sensation of free fall, but it never came. She cautiously opened her eyes and gasped at what she saw.
A beautiful landscape opened before her, no highways, no cars and no airplanes dotted the sky. The most amazing part, however, was the beautiful castle that stood in the center of it all. A gentle breeze blew over them. The unicorn tossed it's head and cantered down a well worn path that led straight to the castle.
