The Lone Star of the Sky
by Akiya Arimoto
Akiya: Buon giorno. This is a new story. Again. *Maybe Kouzumi*
Disclaimer: I do not own digimon. Like 1000 other people, I wish I did.
A lonely girl walked on the sidewalk. She looked to be about twelve. Her eyes were dull aquarimes, and her blue hair had lost its luster, long ago. A blue string wrapped around her hair.
Trudging along the path, the girl suddenly looked at the bright morning sun, and as she looked closer, she could see the faint outline of his brother, the moon.
A faint smile appeared on her face. Then she continued on to school.
Ring! Ring!
School had ended. The girl walked down the steps.
She had no friends; everyone thought she was wierd. Why? Because she couldn't talk. When she was born, no sound had come from her mouth.
None had ever, since. The girl's parents taught her sign language, since she couldn't speak. Even though her parents took her to the doctor, he couldn't do a thing. So, she was mute.
Even though she couldn't speak, she had eyes and ears. She could hear people talking, behind her back. But she couldn't do a thing.
While the girl was walking, a group of boys surrounded her.
"Hey, girlie, what's shaking?" The leader of the gang, Patrick, said.
He used to be her friend, but when the gang accepted him, he became a bully.
"Oh my, who turned on the mute button?" he said, when the girl said nothing.
They went through these routines everyday. The gang laughed.
Thenh they proceeded to beat her up. The girl couldn't do a thing, so she defended herself, by using judo and karate that her father taught her.
As usual, they won, and again they gave her a beating that she wouldn't forget. The girl felt nothing.
She still couldn't understand why Patrick betrayed her. How could she do this to her?
They left her there, lying on the gorund.
Patrick felt really bad, because of the way he had teased her. He really wanted to be her friend, and part of the gang.
He took one last look at her, and was stunned.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Tears blurred her eyes. The pain was gone. But her hurt wasn't.
Why would Patrick do this to her?
Why?
How did she deserve this?
A tear ran down her face, and dropped to the ground. She didn't notice that it was scarlet. But Patrick did.
After he recovered from his shock, he tried to get closer to her.
"Hey, are you all right?"
She lifted her tear-streaked, bruised face, and Patrick drew back, trembling. Something was seriously wrong. The girl that he knew never cried, not when she was in front of people.
He noticed the tears were red. Scarlet, like blood. He was really worried, and scared.
Suddenly, she noticed Patrick was still there. As he walked over to her, she stood up and ran. As her mother did, light and fast as the wind.
Patrick ran after after her, "Wait . . . " He stopped running, still calling, "Wait . . . " He stopped altogether, knowing it was no use. He felt that he had lost Hope.

Then Izumi woke up.
Akiya: Like it? Hate it? Tell me why! What is the girl's relation to Izumi? Did Izumi just dream all that? I know this chapter is so boring, and I know it has nothing to do about our favorite couple, Kouzumi. But hey, it's the first chapter. So stick with me! Ci vediamo!
