Harvest Moon: Island Adventure
Prologue
By Arizima
AN: This is a new Harvest Moon game I made up, on a place called Sunrise Island. The main character is still a dude named Jack, but he looks a bit different. Basically, he wears tennis shoes, a red shirt, and jeans instead of overalls, boots, and a hankie. He still has the hat turned backwards though. Also, the whole "grandpa-dies-you-get-farm" thing is overused, so I'm going to do something different. With all that said and done…. The fic. ^_^;;;
Jack suddenly stirred as his boat bumped into something solid. He blinked his dark blue eyes blearily, then realized the implications of this. He leapt to his feet and jumped for joy; land! He walked out of the now-grounded boat onto the beach and looked around. There was a pier a mile or so down, so the island must have been inhabited. Suddenly, Jack saw a glimmer of metal in the wet sand. He ran toward it, and pulled it out— it was an axe. Knowing that axes just don't bury themselves in sand, Jack began to dig deeper. Soon, he came upon a sickle, hoe, watering can, and hammer. Beneath them was a medium-sized rucksack. He pulled the rucksack up, then yelped as the empty eye sockets of a skull stared up at him.
Setting the tools and rucksack down, Jack buried the skeleton again. He marked out the grave with stones, then tied two sticks together into a cross with a piece of grass and stuck it in. He knelt beside the grave and prayed briefly, then picked up the tools, putting all of them except the watering can in the rucksack. The dead body didn't need the tools, he reasoned, and they would just rust down there.
Jack then walked down to the pier, and from there, could see a cobblestone road and the nearby outskirts of a village.
This is how Jack entered Sunrise Island.
AN: I know, really short, I'm sorry. I'll have the next chapter up soon, I promise. As for the blue eyes thing, I've seen them be called blue and brown, but they look blue to me. ^_^;;;
