All the things that go before
It's all the things that go before that change us and shape us into the person we are now all those little events in our life's some of them trivial and some that turn your world upside down.
It's the past that shapes our future and determines what it might hold for us; it's the past that makes us who we are, yet we all try to run from it. We all have our demons, those things that we try to forget.
If anybody says they had the perfect life their lying; life just insist like that. Everyone has their share of ups and downs ok some get more downs than others, I think I've had more that my share, but one doesn't come with out the other or we'd never recognise the difference.
Yet despite the importance of our past we still continue to run from it to deny it existence from our self's or others.
Take for example Dylan; his past is gone the life he knew long ended, yet he denies this by trying to rebuild it as if it was never gone. If the commonwealth had never ended what would his life be like now, what role would he have to play? Would he still be in life's driving seat making things happen or would he be nothing more than an observer?
Or take Rev he will not try to deny his past, but still he try's to repress it with the way. It's the atrocities of his past that give him the strength to stick to the way.
Lets look a Trance shall we, we know so little of her past, what is she hiding from? If her life had been different would she still be here to guide us in that unique way of hers? For that matter would she have changed to gold or forever remained the purple pixie?
Then let us look at Tyr, he's never given away that much of his past yes we all know he's the last of his pride betrayed by the Drago katso, but what beyond that do we know about his life, how did he make it from sole survivor to mercenary. Would Tyr grow to gain a little respect for us kludges if he had never met Dylan or Beka?
Then there is Beka a little more free with her past but only when she needs to be, when it hunts her down and stares her in the face, what was her childhood really like? Why dose she never speak of her mother? Would she have the strength of spirit she possesses now if it weren't for her past?
Then there's Andromeda, she rarely speaks of her old crew, dose she miss them? Do her corridors feel empty now? Would she still feel as much for us if she had never experienced loss before? Or would we be just another crew?
Then last but not least there's me, I give you glimpses into my past but nothing more, only what I let you see; if by some chance you get me to tell you of my life I always tell the story from a distance like I wasn't really there.
Do I think I would different if my past never happened, would I still have a data port? Would I try so hard to be the best? Or would I have let my talents waste away unused never feeling the need to prove myself? Would family and friends mean as much to me if I had never lost any of them? Yes take away my life experiences and this person would cease to exist. Yes my past makes me who I am now, but that doesn't make it any less painful does it?

A/N Well I'm really not sure if that was any good or not; please leave me a review and let me know what you think. If you didn't like it let me know I still want to hear from you, I appreciate all feedback good or bad.
