Blame It On The Weatherman
By: Lady Starlight
I do not own Sailor Moon or this song. Takes place the night Darien dumped Serena.
"Why? Why did Darien dump me?" Serena asked herself through tears as she turned on the radio. The radio blared to life. "The next song will be Blame It On The Weatherman by B*Witched." The D.J, said. As the song started to play Serena's mind went over what happened that day.
It's just one more day. No one said There would be rain again. Won't blame it on myself, I'll blame it on the weatherman.
It was just another day, only it was raining. " Stupid weatherman." Serena thought." Darien said he wanted to meet me by the lake so I better get going."
Get away for a while. Here I am out on my own again. Won't blame it on myself, I'll blame it on the weatherman.
Serena couldn't believe what had happened. Darien had broken up with her. Darien wasn't asking her out on a date he was ending their relationship.
Standing on the shore, Calling out your name. I was here before, I could see your face.
Serena yelled at Darien as he paddled towards the middle of the lake. This wasn't the first time Darien broke up with her and by his face it wouldn't be the last.
Only clouds could see Tears are in my eyes, Empty like my heart, Why do ya say goodbye?
Serena was crying but she tried to hide it. Why? Why? Why?
The rain goes on On and on again The rain goes on On and on again.
The rain continued to fall. Never slowing, never ceasing, just like Serena's tears.
Alone I can hear Hear our song Playing for me again. Won't blame it on myself. Just blame it on the weatherman.
Serena opened her locket. The melody washed over her, flooding her heart with memories. Memories long forgotten. Memories she wanted to forget. Serena closed the locket, silencing it forever.
Standing on the shore Calling out your name I was here before I could see your face.
A month later Darien broke up with her again, leaving her on the shore of the lake screaming his name. Serena had been here before and this time she noticed the happy expression on his face now that she was gone.
Only clouds will see Tears are in my eyes Empty like my heart Why do ya say goodbye?
Serena's face turned upward as new tears formed in her eyes. Yet she didn't feel any sorrow in her heart, just the question oh why he said goodbye.
The rain goes on On and on again The rain goes on On and on again.
The rain continues to fall on her face, washing away the empty tears soothingly but never stopping.
Maybe it's too late Maybe it's too late to try again. Maybe I can't pray, Maybe I can't wait, Maybe I can't blame the weatherman.
She shouldn't try to apologize to Darien for whatever she had done, it was too late for that. She couldn't pray for him and wait for him either, for he was too far-gone. "I can't blame the weatherman for this." Serena said.
The rain goes on On and on again. The rain goes on On and on again.
The rains continue relentlessly never growing and never ceasing.
Oh blame it on the weatherman.
