Moiraine Damodred had been a Cairhienin noblewoman with rights to the throne. Her brother had married the young Morgase, and she was on her way to the White Tower. Caroline would receive the Sun Throne, and she would receive a dress of novice white. She knew it wouldn't be easy, and as a novice of sixteen, everything would be rough. So she set off from her homeland for the first time with no company except for two guards. Her ears would no longer be soothed to hear the musical accent of Cairhien. "Now I begin anew, now I will become an Aes Sedai. I refuse to be thrown out."
The road was smooth, and they passed an immense statue on the way of a man with a beard and young features. A smile spread across her face as she remembered it well, the place where she had come to be alone. An orb that flashed several different colors rested in the statue's outstretched palm. Dark eyes watched the orb as her horse of pure white passed by it. Moiraine reached out a slender hand, and withdrew it, suddenly clenching her fist. She was reaching for the statue. Yet she knew it was time to release the past, and embrace the future.
"My lady," called a guard. "Are we not to reach Tar Valon as soon as possible? We can make it within two days if you are willing." Moiraine's eyes opened wide and she realized that she had brought her horse to a halt. She nodded at the guard and looked straight ahead. Her horse trotted ahead and everything seemed extremely slow, and even more monotonous. Until night, they traveled relentlessly, eating and drinking in their saddles. Finally, Moiraine settled on a blanket, and pulled another over her, staring up at the stars.
"Why did my mother not make Caroline go to Tar Valon? She could be as Aes Sedai as I someday." Stars gleamed bright above Moiraine's head, making her dark eyes twinkle like dark brown stars. Her dark hair was spread out around her, forming a silky pool. "Mother, why did you ask me to leave? Was I not a pleasure to have in the room? Did I not know how to play Daes Dae'mar to your satisfaction?" She thought of the game of houses, and how she had learned it so well. A smile crossed her lips and she sighed ruefully.
The next day they stopped with a mile until Tar Valon. Her guards were off scouting and she sat on the lush grass. Suddenly, she spotted a ship floating down the river Erinin. A girl slightly younger than her waved and she stood erect, dark hair flying in the wind, as her guards returned.

Sorry that this is so short, but I thought it would be good to wrap it up. R&R, Katie.
