A poem a friend and I wrote last year, dealing with the negative hype that Roleplaying Games, particularly D&D get, when people who play kill someone.

The Ballad of the Wronged Warrior

What has happened to this world?
I did nothing wrong, just played a game,
Now people accuse me of murder
And tarnish my family's name.

You think that one's mistakes are others.
We do not all kill;
Most of us are intelligent
Steady in our minds, strong in our wills.

Because one shoots, rapes, and bludgeons
Do not attack our rights, make us live in upheaval
Or blame it on a game, we know what is fantasy and reality
Do not condemn us for learning to play together to defeat "evil."

Yes there are those that should stay away,
Those with little or no self-control
Those that have no sense of reality, right or wrong,
Bring their personal instability to this theatrical role.

Do not see this a plea for pity,
For we are strong and will not fall behind
We will get through the discrimination and hard times
We have learned to play together, work as one mind.
