Revenge Is Best Served Pink

SUMMARY: The title says it all.
RATING: PG
SPOILERS: Potential

"I said 'roll to your right' – not 'roam out of sight!'" The vampire stood before the slight girl, ashamed of the Potential in front of him. He shook his head and sighed. The wisp of a teenager screwed up her pretty face in preface to a good cry. Before he could register it, the remaining girls surrounded him, yammering all at one time, shouting out words like "meany" and "why do you have to yell at her" and "jerk" and "don't be so cruel" and…well, the last one is a tad inappropriate for a PG story.

After already having had lived through several of these outbursts, all he could do was cover his ears and shut his eyes in an attempt to block out the noise. Yet, as he concentrated his hardest on not listening, Spike managed to notice, above the din, a deeper, yet shriller voice clamoring for attention.

"All right! I give up! I tried to kill him. It was me. I'm evil. I'm no good. Just keep it away from me! AHHHHHHHHHH!"

Spike looked in the voice's direction to see a very frightened and disheveled Andrew, running from the other room in a panic.

"Andrew! What is the problem?" As he ran passed, Spike grabbed the boy by his shoulders, intent on preventing the maniac from creating more dissent in the household. Andrew just stared at him with large eyes, then began to cry.

"The pig! It's the pig! It keeps following me everywhere I go."

Spike stared at him in disbelief.

"Okay. I'll admit it. I tried to kill a pig in sacrifice to open the Hellmouth." On his captor's look of disapproval, he continued, "It was right after I…" Andrew swallowed hard. "…killed Jonathan." He was breathing heavy and Spike could hear his heart pounding hard enough to leap right out of his chest. "I tried to kill the little Babe piggy."

At his confession, Andrew dropped his head to Spike's shoulder and began to weep in earnest. "I'm a bad, bad man. And now I'm being haunted by piggies. They're in my dreams. They're in my bed. They're everywhere!"

With his face screwed up in an expression of disgust, Spike shoved the boy off of his now damp shirt and stood him up straight. "Here, Boy. You're not being haunted. What are you yammering on about?"

Andrew looked in Spike's eyes, communicating his deep fear, then pointed one shaky finger toward the living room. Spike turned from him, straightened the wet shirt, then stood up tall. Five girls followed him as they traversed into the other room.

At first, Spike did not see anything but bedding and discarded chip bags. But then he saw it - a little, pink ear peaking from underneath Andrew's bedding. He crossed the room and picked the pig up by that ear. "Mr. Gordo? What are you doing there?"

The pig smiled.

Spike tilted his head. The girls all asked what was going on.

The pig continued to smile.

From behind them, they heard Andrew wailing again. "No! No! I'm sorry! I'll never do it again. I promise!!"

The pig just smiled.

The group of girls and a vampire did not see the blonde figure standing at the top of the stairs…just smiling.
